When I finally wake up the following morning, I don’t feel the least bit rested. I barely got a few hours sleep; my memories kept interrupting my dreams. I close my eyes again, hoping for a few more moments of rest.

“Good Morning Vivienne.” I look up to see Daemon standing over me. His hair is still damp from his morning shower causing the edges to curl up.  He’s wearing plaid shorts and a button down white shirt.

Good morning to you too Daemon.” I reply yawning.

“I am so sorry Vivienne I have to go into work today.  I will try to be back as quick as I can.” He takes the blanket and tucks me back into the bed.  I close my eyes and go back to sleep.

“Ready to go?”
he asks. I sit up and run my fingers through my messy hair. I’m going to need a shower and coffee.

“Do we have time for breakfast?”
I suddenly realize I didn’t eat enough for the amount of alcohol I had last night and am feeling a bit woozy.

“We will have breakfast.
We just have one stop to make first.” Daemon says. “Don’t keep me waiting.”  He winks and walks out of the room.  Great, he’s a morning person.

After a quick shower, I dry my hair roughly and dress as casual as him in tan shorts and a light blue blouse.

When we get out to Daemon’s car in the garage, I attempt to reach for my door before he does.  He notices and hesitates to unlock it.

“Yes, I know you are not one of those women. But I am a man who was raised to open doors. It’s a sign of respect. So please…” Daemon brushes up against me when he reaches out and opens the passenger side door. I put my sunglasses on to hide my eyes, sliding into the seat.

Turning
from him, I look out the window at the people on the sidewalks as we pass.  He pulls over in front of a small shop and I can see from the window that it’s a toy shop. This time when Daemon gets the door for me I just say thank you.

“What are we here for?” I ask. “I’m getting a gift for us to take to Loukus.” He answers matter of factly.

I am
confused; he hasn’t mentioned any children before. Wait…did he just say for
us
to take to Loukus? I watch him as he browses for a few minutes before deciding on the cutest brown, stuffed bear.  He then walks to a shelf in the front and motions for me.

“You can also buy a toothbrush while we are here.”
He says, with a sly smile. I look up at shelf, covered with singing toothbrushes. My choices are a boy band or the woman who wears meat.  I look at him in disbelief.

“What am I 12?”
I ask shaking my head.

No,” he says “Consider this a lesson in submission. You can pick a toothbrush out as you were told or I can pick one for you.”

Giving in, because I do need a toothbrush, I take the lesser of two evils and pick the woman’s toothbrush.

“I can’t believe you want me to use this” I
hand the toothbrush to Daemon. He immediately presses the button and we hear her song playing, I am so embarrassed.

Daemon puts the bear and the toothbrush down on the counter, the owner rings up his purchase and hands him his change.

Who is Loukus?” I finally get up the nerve to ask as we exit the store and get back into the car.

  “
Loukus is my sister’s son, he’s two.” He answers.

“Oh, is it his birthday?”  I ask, curious about the reason for the gift. Daemon explains that the 11
th
is name day with his family. “Most traditional families name their children after a religious saint. The church celebrates the saints on a certain day of the year. So on that day friends and family visit with gifts and wishes them well. On the 11
th
we will be going to my

Grandparent’s
house.  Loukus is named after our grandfather.”

That’s an interesting custom.” I say nodding my head “What are some other customs?”

“Greece isn’t another planet, Vivienne. Our customs are no different from yours.” He goes on to explain; “For example,   two people say the same thing at the same time we say
“Piase Kokkino”
which means touch red.  It’s an omen that you will get into an argument if you don’t both touch something red. In America you would normally say jinx.”

“Where are we headed today? Last night you said it was a big day but didn’t say anything else.”  I ask as we drive away from town.

“I want to show you the beauty of Greece.  Plus, I really need a day away from the stress of work.”
he says.

After a few more miles, we pull to a marina. The waters are calm and a beautiful teal color. I am taken back at the sizes of the different boats that are in the slips here.

    “
Do you like them?” he asks when he notices me staring.

“I don’t know much about them.” I answer honestly.

    “
All of the ones you see here were built by my family.” He says full of pride.

He leads me down the dock and soon w
e get to where Daemon’s yacht is anchored. I realize it is not a boat it’s more like a luxury hotel on wheels. My initial observation is confirmed as he takes me on a tour. There is a nice size kitchen or galley as he called it, and a beautiful glass table that seats 6.  To my surprise there are also 2 full size bathrooms with showers off to the left. We walked past three more doors, which lead to the additional cabins.  When Daemon opens the last door, I see the inviting king bed, it has a simple blue comforter with three pillows. As soon as Daemon leaves the room I jump backwards, flopping myself on the bed. I close my eyes and inhale deeply, taking in the fresh ocean air.

I am startled by the female voice I hear yelling something in Greek, but the only thing I can make out is Daemon’s name.  He yells a reply back at her and heads back up to the deck.

Curious, I
follow him. I follow the sound of their voices to the front of the boat. I see her first, she has straight dark hair and long, tan legs…and Daemon’s arms wrapped around her.

I hurry back to where I came from in hopes he didn’t see me. No such luck
.

Why didn’t you come up?
” He asks me when he catches up with me in the hallway outside of my room.

“I didn’t want to interrupt.”
I reply with a shrug.

Well I want to introduce you” he says moving to take my hand.

“Look Mr., just because I agreed to this doesn’t mean I don’t want to meet all of your women.” I say backing away.

He looks at me curiously, t
hen he does it, he laughs at me.

He brushes past me shaking his head and goes below to the kitchen. When he comes back he’s carrying a tray with pastries, and cheese, and has a bottle of wine under his arm with 2 glasses in his hand.

“When did you have time to prepare all this?”  I ask still not wanting to look at him.

“I called and made the arrangements this morning.”

I take a bite of the pastry excited to see that it is my favorite.

Mmm, this tastes like heaven. Where did these come from?”

I put in for a special request. She will be pleased to know you enjoyed them.”

She? Ugh the woman he had his hands over made these.
I’m disgusted by this, but not enough to stop eating. I continue sampling different cheese and sipping the wine he has poured for us as he explains.

Loukus’s mother, my sister owns a pastry shop in town. I told her I had a friend who’s fond of
Spanakopita
and asked her to bring that and some other items by the boat.” He says with a smile and I feel guilty. Wait. How does he know I like
Spanakopita? I think back to the day we met in the airport and smile.  No man has ever taken the time to remember details about me like this.

“I find it interesting that you got jealous
” Daemon says pleased with himself. I stop chewing and narrow my eyes at him.

Not jealous” I say. “Simply curious.”

Well your curiosity will be settled soon enough.  You will get to meet everyone at my grandparents’ house.” He tells me then grabs the tray of food and puts it away.

If you have had enough to eat, I suggest we get started.”
And with a devilish grin he continues “I can take you to the nude beach, if you aren’t too shy.” He should know from my display that night in the club that I’m not shy.

“There is not one shy bone in my body.”  I say bravely and finish the wine in my glass in one gulp.  I never realized how damn sexy sailing could be.

I watch as his muscles bulge under his shirt as he raises the main sail. When he turned the winch his face strained slightly, watching his expression and the sweat as it beaded on his brow and ran down his chest had me hot.  Perhaps I may have to go over with Daemon the terms of our agreement sooner than later.

Chapter Nine

It
was a perfect day, the sun felt warm against my skin and there was a light breeze blowing across the water. Sitting beside him on the deck helm watching him and the way he moves gracefully on the boat sparks more questions.

How long have you been sailing?” I start off.

“Most of my life.” He replies.
He tells me stories of being a boy and going out with his father, brother and grandfather.  The trips they would make when he returned home for summer vacations.

I’m not a
mind reader but I can tell from the way he doesn’t mention his brother with endearment that have a strained relationship.

As we get closer
to shore I can see the red hue of the rocks in contrast of the white pebbled beach. I watch as Daemon grabs a few items and places them in a small waterproof box the size of a cooler.   He straps it around his shoulder and informs me that we will have to swim there from here.

Shall we?”  He extended a hand out to me and we jumped from the side together.  We swam side by side in the ocean, I was entranced watching him emerge from the water and make his way on the beach.  Water dropped from the ends of his hair down his back, disappearing into the back of his snug Speedo. The water then seemed to race down his thighs and calves, my imagination started to run wild.  I felt myself become damp and wet with arousal, I felt my face start to flush as I walked towards him. He unloaded the water proof container that he brought off the boat and spread out a large blanket for the two of us.

So what do you think of Red Beach?” he asked as he finished laying things out.

It’s...Naked” I paused to find a word to accurately describe what all I was seeing and the only thing I could think of was naked! That could be because everywhere I looked were
naked
bodies. Male and female. Short and tall. All naked.

“Interesting choice of word”
Daemon jested as I join him on the blanket. “I think I would have to agree with you.” he leans in towards me like he has a secret, he runs his nose up my jaw line and speaks softly in my ear “Vivienne, have you noticed we’re the only dressed people on the beach?”

It takes every ounce of strength in me to stop the shudder that threatens to run down my spine.

“Well we better get naked as well!” I say quickly jumping up to put some distance between us.

  I turn
away from him to remove my bikini top and hesitate. For the first time in my life I actually felt a little apprehensive to undress in front of a man. I take a calming breath and soon there is nothing between the two of us except the warm air.  It’s not like we really had a good look at each other in natural light, I fain indifference and make myself seem busy unloading the picnic items as my eyes feasted over Daemon’s body.

He had a nice size c
ock that looked slightly curved, he was hairier down there than what I normally like but I couldn’t get over the size. If it was that size when it was not fully erect I could understand why I still felt sore.  I sat back on the blanket and laid out the remaining items for lunch.

We had an array of meats, fruit and triangular pastries filled with cheese.  “Uh, the food keeps getting better and better.” I
say to Daemon between bites.  “By the time I go home I will end up gaining 30lbs.”
