“Regan, oh hell!” Damon growled and shot his release in long, hard strokes. His hips ground against her thighs while his body convulsed and quivered in her arms.

He eased her leg back to the floor. His hands quickly tangled in her wet hair as he claimed her mouth sweetly. He broke away and pulled her tight against him while panting. “That was the most…I can’t describe it.”

Regan’s arms wrapped around his neck tightly, loving the afterglow, the achy muscles, and the shortness of breath. “I know, awesome can’t even describe it!”

Damon pulled her underneath the hot shower spray, kissing her sweetly.

After taking turns washing one another, Damon stepped out for a towel and wrapped Regan up in it. “I’m sorry I couldn’t continue to be a gentleman. You’re too damn hot for me to keep my hands off of.”

Regan giggled as he hugged her, his strong arms enveloping her in serenity. “I’m so glad you couldn’t. That was fantastic,” she said as her head rested against his chest where she could hear his steady and strong heartbeat.

“Are you hungry?” Damon tightened his arms around her.

“Umm, yes.” Her fingers trailed down his stomach to his abdomen.

“You little minx!” he teased and lifted her up into his arms and carried her to bed.

Chapter Ten

Damon lay on his side with his head propped up so that he could look down at his sleeping beautiful woman. She looked so peaceful. Her angelic face warmed him in a part of his heart he thought was cold and void of feelings. This had started out as lust and was beginning to turn into more.

Part of him wanted to tell her the real reason behind his worry but the other part argued that it didn’t matter. She was seeing him as just an average man and not as the senator’s son. It was nice to not be held to certain expectations that other women would have insisted on.

He thought back to the women he had dated, and he couldn’t name a single one that just loved him. They had all wanted to be with him for money, opportunity, or notoriety. One woman duped him pretty good, the one he thought he loved. Yeah, she had done quite a number on his heart, and that was why he hadn’t allowed another close to him in nearly a year.

But now, here, he snuggled with a woman who had no clue he was anything other than common, and she was absolutely silly about him. He knew she was. He could see it in her sparkling eyes as they pierced through to his soul. The way she smiled at him had his heart swelling with pride. Her kisses were deep and meaningful, and they held passion and fire behind them. He honestly couldn’t remember a time a woman treated him like she had in a short few days.

Regan’s eyes fluttered open, feeling Damon’s fingers glide lightly down her arm. “Hi, cowboy,” she said and smiled.

Damon kissed her softly and smiled. “I bet you’re hungry now.”

Regan nodded and rolled over, wrapping her arms around his neck. She hugged him tightly. “You have the most wicked way of pleasing me and making me forget about food.”

Damon laughed as he kissed her forehead, inhaling the scent of her sweet shampoo. “We could have had breakfast. Should we have done that instead?”

Regan leaned back and looked into his eyes. “Absolutely not!” she said then began to laugh.

“I’m with you. What happened here was so much better than food could think of being.” He fell back against the pillows with a smile that stretched across his face. He looked up and noticed Regan looking down at him. Her finger traced his strong jaw up to his hairline. She smiled and ran her hands through his thick brown hair then kissed his lips softly.

“Let’s get dressed, cowboy, and I’ll buy you a steak with my stripper money.”

Damon could feel her smile against his lips. She was an absolute angel. Never had a woman cared enough or even offered to take care of him. Not that he needed it, but the thought was what counted. He cupped her cheeks in his strong hands and looked deep into her eyes. “Deal.”

At six, Regan strolled into the club for her shift. Bree had stopped by after Damon left to help her with makeup and securing her wig so it wouldn’t fall off. With her posture erect and confidence rolling off her, she winked at the bouncer as she walked by, feeling the immediate burn of his gaze. She gave an extra sway to her ass, enjoying how nice it was to be desired. She only had eyes for one, though, the tall and handsome Damon that could make her body sing.

She wouldn’t dance until eight and needed to let Damon know. She wanted him here but didn’t. Did that make sense? If he was here, she would want to be with him, and that was not the plan. She needed to keep up her role as a stripper, dancer, or whatever they liked to be called. She also needed to find out more about Shay, and like she thought the day Damon waltzed into her shop, he was a gorgeous distraction.

“Hey girl.” Ebony smiled when Regan walked in.

“Hi, Ebony!” Regan smiled brightly back. She really liked this woman. “What time do you go on?”

“Right before you tonight. Oh, there’s a large business convention in town tonight so I’m sure we’ll see them here. The money ought to be good so shake your ass and hustle the crowd well. You’ll be smiling when you walk out of here tonight!”

Regan smiled and thanked her as she opened her locker. Inside, her outfit and cosmetics had been destroyed. Tears stung the inside of her eyes, but she vowed to not allow a tear to fall.

Ebony heard Regan gasp and turned to see the shreds of fabric and broken shoes in her locker. “That bitch!” she roared and pulled Regan into a hug.

Regan pushed her back. The comfort would only pull her tears out. She took a shaky breath and tried to breathe and calm down. “Why would someone do this?” she asked, her face confused.

“Honey, you’re good, and you’re beautiful. It’s competition at its ugliest…if you were only mediocre, they’d have left your things alone.” Ebony crossed her arms with her mouth in a hard frown. “Well…” Regan said, finally getting a handle on her emotions, “let the games begin!”

“Oooh, that’s my girl!” Ebony squealed out.

Regan grabbed her keys out of her purse and headed toward the front door. She had purchased more than one outfit, thank goodness. It really pissed her off that her favorite was shredded by who knew. She wanted to believe it was Shay, but really there were others that were just as nasty to her as Shay. Didn’t matter though, they were not going to run her off. She had a job to do, and she was not going to back down.

Damon checked his watch for the hundredth time since leaving Regan’s this morning. They had gone to his favorite steakhouse, and he’d allowed her to pay. He wanted to know how it felt, and he also knew that Regan really wanted to do it for him. That woman was almost too good to be true. She had a steak, loaded baked potato with butter, sour cream, and cheese and never once batted an eye or bothered to be shy about having a good healthy appetite and it showed. She was toned from head to toe, with perfect curves, a lush ass and perfect-sized breasts. That was nice to see for a change and not the typical, “Oh, I’ll have a salad and water so I can starve myself and stay anorexically thin.”

Nope, not Regan, she was one in a million where he was concerned. He checked his watch again. “Dumbass, it’s only a minute later than when you checked it before,” he muttered and tried to go back to work fixing a fence that was broken.

While Regan was dressing in her new outfit that thank goodness she’d had the forethought to buy, a number of questions began to form in her mind. Her first thought was about Shay boinking the owner but yet engaged to Drew. Why? Drew was a good-looking man and, from what she could tell, a good person as well. Why would she do that? There was something more going on, but she couldn’t put a finger on it. What was Shay’s big plan? Obviously she was involved with two men and both seemed to have money or at least enough to provide a nice living, so why would she compromise the situation? The owner apparently knew there was something between her and Drew.
Hum
. He was also in on whatever was going on here, but what?

Then her questions weighed heavily on Damon. He was evidently not poor by any means. Did the family own some sort of lucrative business that Shay knew about? Was her plan to marry Drew then later divorce him for a generous alimony?

Yeah, she thought. Shay needed to secure money to keep her lifestyle. She was hustling Drew, and the owner of the club was in on it.

“Huh,” Regan whispered as she touched up her makeup with the remnants from her locker. She felt better knowing what was going on.

“Hey, sugar!” Ebony said as she walked through. “Thank goodness you had that new outfit!”

“Yeah, I don’t like to be unprepared. What do ya think?” Regan asked as she turned in a circle in her cop outfit. “Wait, I need my hat and shades then tell me.”

Regan put her officer’s cap on and mirrored sunglasses. “Okay.”

Ebony laughed. “You’re the hottest damn cop Dallas has ever seen, girl! I love it! So what music are you using?”

“‘Bad Boys’ from the
Cops
television show, of course!” Regan laughed. Dressing up allowed her to be imaginative, fun, and sexy, and it felt so wonderful.

“Oops, I’m up next.” Regan grabbed her handcuffs and gave Ebony a quick hug. The sincere nature of Ebony was great to have. Being a new stripper, even a temporary one, required at least one friendly face.

The “Bad Boys” theme song came on, and Regan sucked in a deep breath. Cheers and catcalls erupted when Regan came out with a pair of handcuffs twirling on her finger, sporting mirrored shades, and an ultratiny cop outfit complete with the hat.

Regan spotted Damon, and the residual heat from the morning flashed. She twirled and shrugged out of her top, holding it against her chest, teasing the audience. Her eyes flashed, and a wicked smile played on her lips as the crowd shouted for her to drop it. She wadded her top and tossed it into a customer’s face as the crowd cheered, seeing her in only small police-badge pasties covering her nipples.

Men rushed the stage as Regan began her erotic gymnastics and flexible stunts. The roar of the crowd was deafening as Regan yanked off the boy shorts with only a tiny piece of fabric covering her pussy. Exhilaration spiked through her veins as she noticed the intense look on Damon’s face. Yeah, baby, she thought, and shot him a quick smile.

At the bar, Shay’s frown caught the attention of the bartender. “She’s freaking awesome!” he said while he dried a glass with his bar towel. “Looks like you just slid into the number-two slot!”

Shay threw her drink in his face and stomped toward the office. With a loud crash, she slammed the door open and yelled, “Get rid of her!”

Randy looked up from his desk with his brows pulling together. “Who?”

“American Pie! Get rid of her now!” Shay blasted out again.

Randy leaned back in his chair and grinned. He could hear the rowdy crowd. “Whatever for?”

“I mean it, Randy!” She growled and stomped toward his desk with her finger pointing at him.

“Cherry, baby,” Randy schmoozed, “she’s good for business.”

Shay’s hands went defiantly to her hips, hate swirling in her eyes. “I’m serious.”

Randy stood and glided around the desk and put his arms around her waist. “I know, baby.” His kissed her neck softly while his hand eased up her back.

Cherry lightly moaned then quickly shrieked when his hand wrapped around her neck tightly. Fear spiked in her stomach when Randy’s intense glare burned into her.

“Don’t ever, ever tell me what to do.” His eyes glistened, and a sneer crept across his face. “Don’t forget I’m the boss here, and you bow to me, not the other way around.”

Shay tried to swallow, and her eyes watered.

“Do you understand me?” Randy chimed in a menacing tone.

She nodded.

“What?” Randy questioned.

“Yesss,” Shay said through clenched teeth.

“Good, very good,” he said and released her neck. His face changed, and a smile swept across his face. “Now, she isn’t really that bad, is she?”

Shay just shook her head with trembling hands.

“Now, close the door, and come make it up to me for your naughty behavior.”

After another couple of hours of hell, eleven o’clock rolled around, and Damon couldn’t wait to sweep Regan out of there. A man could only take so much, and sex this morning was only a small preview of what he wanted to experience with Regan. For starters, he’d like to include the handcuffs she twirled on her dainty finger earlier.

Thinking of how sweet she tasted stirred his cock. At this rate it would take days to tame the beast he had created this past year with his monk-like existence. When this week was over, he thought, a trip might be in order, one at an extravagant hotel with fabulous linens and large beds. Yeah, he and Regan could lock themselves in for days, live on room service, and try every sexual position known to man. Ah, it sounded like paradise.

“Hey, cowboy, meet me in the parking lot. I’ll go change my clothes.” Regan grinned mischievously.
