“I’ll keep that in mind, Mama,” he said, and then he excused his family from his hospital room to make his call in private. When Big Pope Dog answered, Li’l Boo spoke precisely. “This Li’l Boo, homie. Where’s my daughter and Keisha at?”

Big Pope Dog smiled though the phone. “’Sup, blood? I’m glad you’re back from the dead. When can we meet? I can’t talk over the phone -”

Li’l Boo interrupted him. “Are they alright?” He had to know.

The concern in Li’l Boo’s tone couldn’t be ignored. “They ar
e, my dude, but it’s vital tha
t we link up before I get out of town,” Big Pope Dog said, giving more information than he wanted to over the phone.

“Definitely,” Li’l Boo agreed, sighing in relief. “I don’t know when they letting me outta here, but I’ll leave this bitch if they don’t release me in like five minutes,” he said eagerly. “Meet me at my restaur
ant.”

Big Pope Dog told Li’l Boo no. “Just put me on your visitor’s list. I’ll be there within the next day or so. Obey the doctor’s orders. They brought you back from the dead, nigga, and you’re going to need to be at your best when you hit these streets again. It’s a war out here,” Big Pope Dog stated before disconnecting the call.

Keisha

After Gutty wrapped the dead stick-up man in one of the hotel blankets, he placed several hotel towels over the man’s bloody head and torso before putting his plan in motion to get rid of the body. Gutty peeked out the hotel window before stepping out of the door to make sure the coast was clear. Their room was located on the first floor, and since the SUV was parked directly in front of their hotel door, Gutty opened the trunk and was able to throw the body in the SUV without being noticed
.
He then dumped the corpse in a swamp ten miles up the road. .

In the hotel room, Keisha worked diligently to remove the blood splatter from the walls and as much as she could off the carpet. When Gutty returned, he knocked twice before Keisha let him in the room, and then she went along with Gutty’s plan to set a fire in the room to finish destroying the evidence.

“Let’s change into our sleeping clothes to make this shit look legit,” Gutty suggested.

“Good shit,” Keisha agreed, removing her clothes from her body. She stood nude, quickly slipping into sleepwear.

Changing clothes, Gutty thought,
The fuck, Lady G think a nigga gay or something? She can’t keep getting undressed in front of a nigga.
He recalled her bouncing breasts during the murders at Low-Down’s house.

After the two
quickly changed into their sleeping clothes, Gutty struck the light that ignited the flame. As the fire grew bigger and bigger, burning the remains of the blood from the carpet, the two ran out of the room in distress as the hotel’s fire alarm sounded off. Before long, guests were running out of their hotel rooms and the hotel emergency exits. Keisha and Gutty followed suit with their overnight bags in hand. An ambulance could be heard in the distance.

In front of the hotel, a hysterical Keisha explained to hotel personnel and the firefighters that she was only trying to set up a romantic, candlelit evening for herself and her fiancé when the fire broke out. When the fire was contained, the firefighters told Keisha to be glad that they had gotten out of the room in the nick of time and that no one was injured. Gutty held Keisha, pretending to console his distra
ught girlfriend.

The hotel manager approached Keisha and Gutty. “I’ll put you in another smoking room, but this time no candles, ma’am.”

Keisha nodded in agreement as Gutty shook the manager’s hand. “Thank you, sir; we’d appreciate that very much.”

But they had already planned that after they pulled the fire off, they would hop back on the interstate and get ghost before further investigation
transpired
.

__________

After a long night of driving, Gutty finally arrived in Miami. He hadn’t had a wink of sleep and he was tired. Surprisingly, Keisha had slept the entire ride there, and Gutty was glad of that after the previous night’s events. She needed the rest. Interrupting her loud snoring, Gutty began to shake Keisha awake as he approached
a Waffle House. He wanted to get them something to eat before heading over to the safe house.

This girl don’t fuck around when it comes to snoring.
Gutty laughed to himself. In fact, it was Keisha’s snoring that kept him wide-eyed and alert on the road.

Yawning, stretching, and wiping the sleep from her eyes, Keisha sat up in her seat, cracking her window for fresh air. “Are we almost to Miami?” She began to observe her surroundings.

“We’re already in Miami, Snore-a-lot,” Gutty teased.

“Damn, my nigga, you did that, Piru.” Keisha had grown tired of being on the road and had been anticipating a fat blunt and a full day’s rest before Big Pope Dog was scheduled to be in town.

When Gutty pulled up in the Waffle House parking lot,
Keisha reached
for her phone to check on her family and best friends. She told Gutty that a pancake breakfast would be perfect before she called her sister Ryan. By the time Gutty came out with their orders, Keisha had contacted all of her loved ones and was wrapping up a conversation with her mother.

“I wish you would have stayed here with me like your friend suggested, Keisha. I’ve been extremely worried about you,” Shanna exp
ressed.

“Try not to worry too much; I’m in good hands. I’ll call you later,” Keisha assured her mother before disconnecting the call.

“Either it’s the swag or the Cali plates that got them gold-teeth-wearing-ass niggas on the boy. I’m getting rid of these plates. On the set, we don’t need nobody else thinking we hauling no type of weight,” Gutty said as he climbed back into the car.

Keisha agreed.

As they pulled up to their destination, Gutty received a call from Big Pope Dog. Gutty answered, “Right on time, my nigga, we just pulling up.”

“You made good time, homie,” Big Pope said and then asked to speak to Keisha. “I got somebody important that wanna holler at her,” he said.

Gutty passed Keisha the phone.

“What’s up, Big Pope Dog?” she asked.

“It’s good to hear your voice, baby mama.” Li’l Boo smiled through the phone.

Keisha sighed in surprise. “Li’l Boo?” Keisha sprang up in her seat, eyes immediately watering up. “My nigga, baby daddy, Li’l Boo!” she cried. “I’m so happy to hear your voice, oh my God! How are you doing?” Keisha wiped her eyes. She was overwhelmed with happiness that Li’l Boo had finally come to.

I knew I still owned a part of Keisha’s heart.
Li’l Boo smiled through the phone happily. Hearing Keisha so choked up with emotion and joy upon hearing his voice touched him deeply
.
“Yo’ man is alright, baby. I’m on a cane temporarily, but I’m straight, much better than the doctors expected,” he explained, more concerned about her well-being. “But how about you, Li’l Mama? How are you and my daughter doing? The two of you have constantly been on my mind. I’m deeply concerned.” He paused. “When am I going to see you guys?”

“We’re both alright, but I can’t say too much over the
phone
,” Keisha replied as a security precaution. “I’m just so grateful, on my life, that you survived and that you’re recovering.” Keisha couldn’t stop the flow of tears that continued to fall from her eyes. “So much has gone on while you were in the coma.”

“Big Pope Dog been putting me up to speed on what’s been happening on the streets and it’s disheartening.” Li’l Boo sighed sympathetically. “I hate that you’ve been going through all this shit.”

Gutty climbed out of the car to offer Keisha privacy and began to scout the secluded area.

Hand on her pistol, Keisha and Li’l Boo continue
d to engage in c
onversation. Li’l Boo asked Keisha if she loved him.

“Of course I love you, Li’l Boo! You’re my hero and guardian angel, Piru. I don’t think you know how much you mean to me,” Keisha emphasized. The love that Keisha felt for Li’l Boo after he stepped in front of death for her took her love for him to a stronger and deeper level.

Keisha’s words breathed life into Li’l Boo. He had longed to hear her say those very words. “You mean the world to me, Li’l Mama. I got your front back and side, and after I get up to par, I’m in this thing with you, you hear me?”

“No, Li’l Boo,” Keisha replied in terror. She began to plead with Li’l Boo not to involve himself in any further
dangerous activities. “I couldn’t live with myself if anything else happened to you, Li’l Boo,” Keisha stressed.

But Li’l Boo wasn’t hearing it.

“Shhhhh!” Li’l Boo stopped Keisha from talking. “If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a damn thing. I know I’ve always did my thing, Kesh, but you’ve always had my heart and ain’t shit gon’ stop me from having you this time - nothing!” he stated firmly. “So let’s just stop fucking around and be on this gangsta shit together.”

“Li’l Boo, I can’t talk about my love life right now. I’m in too deep, and my life isn’t guaranteed.” Keisha continued to wipe her tears away. “I’m living day to day right now, baby. I got a heavy weight on my head, and if I lose, you gon’ be the only parent that Kessia has left.”

Li’l Boo snapped. “That nigga ain’t invincible!” he spat. “And Kessia is gon’ have both of her parents, together in the same household, happy. Now keep that shit off your mind, Li’l Mama. As long as I have breath, I ai
n’t gon’ let nobody take you away from us, a’ight?” He paused. “Now put blood back on the phone,” Li’l Boo ordered, referring to Gutty.

When Keisha saw Gutty come from behind the house, she climbed out of the truck and then passed Gutty his phone back. “Li’l Boo wants you.” Keisha tried to collect herself.

Leaning onto the SUV, Keisha thought,
Damn, baby, I want you too…my first love and dick.
But in her heart, she knew her chances at true love and happiness were slim to none.
My life is outta fucking control and I can’t let Li’l Boo get involved or hurt ever again, NEVER!
Keisha began to pull herself together.

After Gutty ended his conversation with Li’l Boo, he tapped Keisha on the shoulder, offering her a warm smile. “Let’s go inside, Lady G, and get some food in our bellies. Cheer up! It’s a good day, and everything is going to be alright.”

Keisha forced a smile on her face. “I guess it’s better to think positive, right?” She started towards the modest house with a mentally-exhausted Gutty following behind her.

Carter – Part II

Carter had just gotten off the phone with Tory, his contact that worked at the airport. He had her monitoring the airport’s database for any one-way trips that Keisha might have taken out of the state or country. He was elated when Tory called and told him that Keisha Cones had booked a one-way ticket to Hawaii the previous day.

“I would have contacted you sooner, but I was off yesterday,” Tory explained.

Carter nodded, satisfied. “Hawaii, huh?” Carter sighed. “Thanks, love. I really appreciate the information.”

Tory cleared her throat. “And I appreciate money… and lots of it.” After she gave Carter her bank account number, Carter assured her that he’d take good care of her before disconnecting the call.

Little bitch thought she could get away from me? I’m internationally connected, Keisha Cones!
Carter hit the intercom system for his longtime friend, bodyguard, and driver, Tre. He was in the middle of conducting a citywide search and holding a meeting regarding Keisha Cones with his team. It was Tre’s belief that Keisha was hiding in the city and plotting her own revenge, since Keisha knew where Carter resided. Tre tightened security around the estate, around the clock. Tre hoped that with all the noise that they had been making in Compton, Keisha would soon be forced out of hiding.

Tre excused himself from the meeting he was holding and then minutes later, he walked into Carter’s study. The big smile on Carter’s face told Tre that Keisha Cones had been located. A satisfied grin spread across Tre’s face. “You found that bitch?” Tre exclaimed in high spirits.

Carter nodded. “Hawaii,” he replied. “Reach out to our Honolulu friends and tell them that we’ll be needing their assistance and that we’ll be there within the week.”

Tre was in total disbelief. “That bitch left the state? Damn, you were right, Carter. I thought Keisha was too gangsta to run and hide,” Tre laughed joyfully. The matter was much more personal for Tre then Carter knew. After exchanging a few more words, Tre started out of Carter’s study.
Hood-ass bitch gon’ regret she EVER pulled a pistol out on me!

Keisha

Late that night, Big Pope Dog made it to the safe house. His Atlanta connect met him there to load them up with guns and ammo. Tired, Big Pope Dog looked as drained as Keisha felt mentally. Keisha
had been popping Xanax like Skittles to keep herself relaxed and she drank energy drinks along with another secret concoction to keep herself alarmed and alert. Even in the safe house, Keisha was jumpy. Every time she closed her eyes she’d wake
up in a cold sweat, fearful that Carter had eyes watching her and would call to check on her family each time. Gutty continued to remind Keisha that she could rest with no worries.

“You’re safe, Lady G. While you’re sleeping, I’m wide awake securing the perimeters. I know I fucked up in Louisiana, but trust me, I ain’t gon’ let anything happen to you. Have a little faith in yo’ homeboy,” Gutty would tell her.

But now that Big Pope Dog was there, Keisha immediately felt at ease. Gutty was a gangster, but Big Pope Dog was both a gangster and an experienced hitman.

Curious, Big Pope Dog wanted to know why they fled Louisiana the way they did.

“Y’all had just called and told me you guys were checking in, and then three hours later I get a call that you guys were getting the hell outta there?”

Gutty begin to vividly explain the incident and then afterwards shook his head in disappointment. “I fucked up, but thanks to Lady G’s sharp thinking, we pulled it off,” he sighed.
