Shadows

Directly across the street, in a second story room
, facing the front door of the villa; a dark figure stood, looking out the window through binoculars. He was watching the five men talk, at the front doors. After Bellos and Swanson entered the building, the three men walked down the stairs, along the villa’s entry path. They appeared to argue, adamantly; but, the man viewing, couldn’t understand what they were saying. They were obviously bickering, yanking something between them, stopping and going, even shouting at one point. The man in the room placed the binoculars in his briefcase, along with some personal items. Then, he gathered his belongings, put on his suit coat and he walked out to the hallway and down a narrow staircase.

He locked the back street door
, behind him, and strolled to a grove of olive trees, a half mile or so away. The branches shaded his figure, as he stopped occasionally, to look down at the shallow graves, lining each side of the dirt path. Finally, at the last grave on the far right, he knelt down, took an object out of his coat pocket and pushed it into the mound of dirt. It was a small two-inch blue vial.

“Clones,” he said to himself. “I never should have invested in clones.”

Marion Brock stood back up and walked silently out of sight.

Includes upper East Asian Continent,  Mongolia and the China Basin, stretching east and south through Himalayas, Tibet, India and Pakistan, population: 600,000…There are 250 major Transport Stations throughout the region.

Post 2:
Europe, the Netherlands, England and Northern Africa…population: 300,000…There are 320 major Transport Stations throughout the region

Post 3:
North American Continent-Canada and the United States and across Alaska including the Bering straits, population: 700,000…There are 230 major Transport Stations throughout the region.

Post 4:
The Middle East, Turkey and the Baltic, north including Russia and west bounded by Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, population: 400,000…there are 140 major Transport Stations throughout the region.

Post 5:
Australia and the Pacific Seas including Japanese Isles and east including South America, population: 500,000…There are 170 major Transport Stations throughout the region.

Post 6:
Mid and Southern Africa and Madagascar, population: 300,000…There are 100 major Transport Stations throughout the region.

Knofer:
A singular communication device used by population within Ever-Life colonies. It offers video, audio, 3D imagery, unlimited download capability, contains records of all knowledge from historical archives of 500,000 years, defense mode capable, and security protocols include time travel capable.

Duplication:
Growing human body parts or an entire, complete body. Physically, they are exact copies, using and resulting in persons with ‘complete’ DNA. Subject is capable of complete human development.

Hope and Love abide with all who believe. May we all believe in the future.

Many people write books to tell a story they imagine. That is fiction today. But what if someone writes a true story that hasn’t happened yet?

Chapter 1

Confined

One lone Carrier lay in a fixed position, just tangent to Earth’s core. There, the magnetic signals generated were so strong; they blocked any communication from the hive mindset of all other Carriers. Inside the beast, a man in a suit lay flat on his back. He opened his eyes and blinked several times before moving. Slowly
, he sat up and looked from side to side, trying to focus; but, all he could see was a blur of white light.

“Where the hell am I?’

He wiped his eyes and realized the light radiated directly from the walls and floor.

“You are quite safe,”
a voice said.

The man slowly stood up and surveyed the empty oval room.  He noticed the imprint of his body on the floor disappearing, as if he had slept on an ancient foam mattress. Instinctively, he began frisking himself.

“Everything seems to be here.”

Suddenly, before him appeared a chair and table with food.

“Woe; that’s a neat trick.”

“It is no trick, my friend. I bring you sustenance and good health. Do you remember anything?”

The man sat down at the table.

“A little, I think; I don’t know. Some things, I suppose; I certainly remember this; eggs, steak, and potatoes, and; is this Champagne?”

“No, it is not.”

“Mm, different; but good…”

He began to eat and talk.

“So; am I a prisoner? What is your name?”

“Far from it, as a matter of fact; my name is of no consequence. What is important is that you feel better, and in control.”

“How long have I been here?”

“A while; months by your time…Tell me, do you know who you are?”

“Months; Christ!”

He grimaced and stood up, wiping his mouth with the napkin.

“I am Marion Brock.”

“What is your last memory?”

“I remember a large white room, like this; and, talking to an old friend of sorts. Am I still there?”

“Not exactly; you are in a stasis mode. It’s rather like dreaming, but you are not asleep.”

“Interesting…”

“You were injured.”

“Injured? I am fine. What now?”

“I am going to educate you. Then, we go on an adventure. Will you cooperate?”

“I don’t have much of a choice; do I?’

“You perceive the obvious. Good. You are healing.”

“Who or what are you, anyway?”

“I am of inner Earth.”

“Well, ‘of inner Earth’, you can cook.”

“We have lived far below your kind, for thousands of years. We only share ourselves with very few of your better natured species.”

Brock giggled, thinking,
Me better natured
.

“Are you sharing with me now? Is that what this food is?”

For almost two minutes, he sat in dead silence, wondering. Finally, he raised his voice, “Are you still here?”

At that second, it happened. Brock heard a ringing in his ears. Involuntarily, he held his head, while at the same time, taking deep breaths. Just as he was about to scream, it stopped. His eyes dilated; and he relaxed, feeling an overwhelming cathartic, rapturous sensation.

“Yes, I am here…What I give you now, is against all treaties, between your kind and mine. In the writings between us, we chartered only to supply you with tangible gifts. What you receive now, we have never shared.”

Brock sat unable to move. He began shaking uncontrollably. After a few seconds, it was too much for him. He passed out and flopped on the table. When he awoke, different fresh food was beside his head; his favorite music was playing; and his dog, Buddy, was sitting, panting, looking up at him next to the table.

“How did you get here boy?”

Brock stood up and turned around in wonder. The room was now his old office suite, in Hightstown, New Jersey.

“My desk, couch, tables, books…Did I go back in time? This building was demolished 30 years ago.”

He examined everything in the room.

“It’s all here.”

Then, he looked out, through the huge second floor bay window and watched all the people going about their daily lives.

“You know Bud, you would have loved Tom’s Café’ there; best pancakes in town.  It’s all just as I remember…”

Brock crossed the room to the door, excited. He flung it open, expecting to run down the stairs and outside; but, he stepped through into the exact same office suite again.

“Christ; what is this? This can’t be happening.”

              He heard the voice again,
“Physical laws are quite different here, my friend. You are different. I gave you a few things to think about. Try to concentrate. What you see in your mind’s eye; I will project before you.”

Brock walked back and sat at the table, staring at the walls, as each started displaying 3D images. He rose from the chair, only to feel dizzy and bend over holding his knees.

“This takes some getting used to…I do see something; but, it’s so strange…”

When he opened his eyes, he looked at his thoughts appearing on the curved wall before him.

“My God, they are; they are tunnels; inside the planet… And; underground dwellings...? It’s blurry…There; those look like footballs? No; they are fish; swimming? But, that can’t be. There is no water.”

Brock walked toward the wall, rubbing his eyes and reaching out trying to touch the 3D images.

“I see something else now. There; and there; and there…People; lots of people.”
