Rachel said dreamily. 'My trousseau
isn't ready yet.'
He gave her a sardonic grin. 'Your
clothes don't really interest me,

although the lack of them does. I'll take
you to Rio for the first few days and buy
you what you need there. Then we'll go
on
to
England
and
visit
your
grandfather.'
'And afterwards?'
'Afterwards we come home.' His arms
tightened around her. 'My country is very
different from yours,
querida.
Will you
be able to look on it as your home
eventually?'
She slid her arms up round his neck,
drawing him down to her. Vitas was
taking her to England, though it would
not be her that her grandfather would be
waiting impatiently to see, she knew, but
Mark. Yet that no longer had the power
to hurt her.
'Home, my darling, is wherever you are,'
she told him softly, and kissed him.
