Stax was a smart ass at times, yes. But she was also a reasonable woman, and although she had made light of Leila's concern, she did know how to use the other side of her brain. For the sake of 'insurance', when she closed the bar down at midnight, she invited Strangler to the Clubhouse to meet Slider and the guys. After that, there should be no question that this stranger that had turned her on, would dare to harm her. Then again, there was always the possibility that Slider would  eat him alive and she wouldn't get laid anyway. "Whatever," she thought, "Either way, we'll find out what he's made of." She was glad that it was a weekday and she didn't have to work until two.

Because she was on her Harley, and he had taken the bus into town enroute to his ultimate destination, Strangler had no choice but to ride bitch with her to the Clubhouse or take a cab. Naturally, he opted for the cab, who followed behind her bike. When they walked in together, they were all suprised to see Stax bring a man into the Clubhouse. This was was such a novelty, and they were all eager to feel him out and see what he was made of. This was especially true for Slider and the Gaelic Trio, who immediately waved them over to their table. It was rare for anyone other than a club Officer or their ol 'lady to sit at the Officer's table, other than Stax of course. Since she was apparently thinking of spending some quality time with this man, they were gonna need to evaluate him themselves.

Nobody could ever say, in regards to that first evening, that they didn't put Strangler through his paces. Plying him with Irish whiskey, they covered every topic that they could think of. First it was his knowledge on bikes and heritage, then they moved on to mechanics and construction, followed by prison and the military. Strangler met each subject head-on with reason, accuracy and knowledge. However, being younger than the four asking the questions, and coming from the streets, he did not have a military background to expound on. This, they advised was not an issue, so they quickly moved on to discuss 'street smarts', a subject at which Strangler excelled.

After giving a brief run down of his past and his history with the law, the older men found much about Strangler that they liked and appreciated. They could appreciate that most of what he did, he did out of necessity and survival, and they could also appreciate his fondness for a good fight. His Gaelic ancestry was both relevent and obvious, so they especially embraced his ability to verbally go toe-to-toe with them. They decided amongst themselves, that this night was not a night to pursue the subject of self-defense, as they were pretty sure that Stax would take care of that if push came to shove. All in all they felt that she had made a good choice from what they could tell, and eventually they let him be. At this point, it was already almost five in the morning and they had kept him busy long enough, giving Stax plenty of time to change her mind. She hadn't, but now she was more intrigued than ever.

Before they left the Clubhouse, Slider had walked over and motioned Strangler to the end of the bar. "
She may not always be your choice lad, but you remember this
,
she'll always be my life
." Slapping him on the back, he offered, "
And good luck to ya laddie
." Chuckling his way back towards the officer's table. Stax decided to borrow her father's truck and leave her bike at the Clubhouse. "It's only fittin," she reasoned, "You can't ask a man to ride like a bitch one minute and fuck like a man the next." Though, the thought of doing so did make her smile.

They headed off to a trailer that she had recently rented. She had moved out of the house after she and father had come to verbal blows regarding her desire for her adult privacy. Slider didn't like it much and after she left, he immediately began building on another back room to the Clubhouse just for her personal use. Because he had taken her feelings and needs into consideration, she had paid off her part of the lease early. Moving back home, she had left it to her room-mate Willow to decide to either enjoy herself on her own, or get a new roomy and pocket the extra cash.

But on this particular night, Willow was already on the couch in the livingroom with Biker-Ryker doing exactly what Stax and Strangler were heading inside to do. They caught a rather explicit scene going on through the front window, as they were walking up the steps of the small wooden front porch.

"I'm not going in there right now," Advised Strangler. Stax not having seen it yet, could only imagine. When she looked past him and saw Willow riding the high hard one on the couch, she understood. "Oh, it's fine," she laughed, "Nobody here will mind if we walk through." He continued to be adament about interupting them, "No, that's just fucking wrong. I'd kill a mother fucker." He turned abuptly to head back down the steps. Not to be put off, she advised him curtly, "It's my fucking house, they won't even miss a stroke if we walk through." But he stood his ground, stating "Nope, not gonna do it, we can wait in the truck for a bit."

Stax was a little pissed, but she also could see that his opinion was an honorable one, so she  smiled, "Fine then," she teased, knowing that after years in the pen, he wouldn't be able to resist what she was about to reveal.  "Let me show you how the rednecks do it." She rushed down the steps giggling. Standing near the truck so that he could see, she dropped her pants, bent down and grabbed her ankles. Her bare-naked ass pointed in his direction.

"Damn it," she heard him swear, as he rushed down the stairs after her, "You set the standard, Bitch." He mumbled, quickly tearing at his own jeans. A bit flustered to say the least, he happily accepted her offer of sweet ivory ass, shining in the moonlight.

"What the fuck?" Ryker hollered standing in the doorway, trying to pull up his chap-covered jeans. "Shit!" Hollered Strangler, quickly reaching down to grab his own pants up as he rolled himself over the hood of the truck, landing on two feet facing his opponent. "It's just Stax," screamed Willow from the living room, still naked and staring out the window. "Jeeez Ryker, get back in here, it's all good!" She screamed at him.

"It's fine Ryker." said Stax, pulling her pants up, not at all embarressed to be caught in the act by her friends. "We can go in now." she said, grinning back at Strangler, who was still pretty drunk, trying to take this all in. "Fuck!" he exclaimed, "I need a goddamn drink." As they walked into the house, Stax grabbed a bottle, two glasses and some coke and they headed down the hall disappearing into her bedroom. It was about three in the afternoon when they finally came out, still half asleep and hung-over. "I've ordered pizza." advised Willow, checking out the stranger as she waited for an introduction to this asshole that had cost her a precious orgasm.

"Strangler, my roomy Willow," she said smiling, and nodding to the big biker coming out of the bathroom, "and our brother, Ryker, affectionately known as 'Biker-Ryker' to the girls that Willow works with." She paused, trying hard to keep a straight face, and then she added, "As you might have witnessed last night, she's a pole-dancer." Stax couldn't do it, she burst out laughing at her own joke, and everyone else joined in. "Funny is Funny," admitted Willow, as she danced over to the couch and sat down, grinding her ass into Ryker's lap.

Stax would have given much to know exactly what he was thinking right then. About her, her biker family and her room-mate. She knew that they were alot to take in for anybody on the outside, but they must seem especially strange to one who had just got out of the joint.

After spending the next two days with her, Strangler boarded a plane and headed out west. His probation was being transferred out there, something which was put into motion before he was released. But after having met Stax, he was having second thoughts about going. Stax wouldn't hear of him staying, as it would only invite more trouble. "Enough of this bad luck shit that you wear like a fucking badge," she said pointing to his tattoo, "do it right this time." She locked eyes with him, "I'm not going anywhere, you go take care of your business and come back and play with me." she demanded.

Three months later, Strangler turned on the charm. He convinced his female probation officer that it wasn't working out for him there, but he did have a good job opportunity waiting for him back in Florida. Asking Slider to send him a registered, notorized letter validating that he had work available and a place for him to live when he arrived, his probation officer accepted it and authorized an immediate transfer. A week before Christmas, he knocked on Stax's door. Willow answered the door, advising that Stax was in bed asleep. He slipped into her room and woke her up with soft kisses and warm hands. She had no idea he was coming, Slider hadn't said a word.

Chapter 12

"What's New?"

Stax woke up from a vivid dream in which Strangler was telling her that it was over. He was trying to take her bike, screaming at her that she could never enter the Clubhouse again. She woke up in a sweat and jumped out of bed, towards the bathroom, holding her stomach and feeling very much like she was going to be sick. Stopping just short of the door, she looked around and came to grips with reality. "Shit!" she said aloud, "That's too fucked up for words."

After a long hot shower, she dressed and headed to the kitchen for coffee, feeling a hundred times better than she did when she first awoke. The bad dream faded in the light of day, and she refused to give it any credence or special meaning. She found that Serenity and Lee had been up preparing a nice breakfast. Stax could see that they were excited to go to the Clubhouse today. "Good morning, ladies," Stax offered as she entered the kitchen. "It's going to be a wonderful day" Stax said cheerfully. Lee seemed put out at hearing the term "ladies" but Serenity didn't seem to notice, "We'll make it so, but check out the window, sister." Serenity said without enthusiasm. Stax peeked out at the dark cloudy sky, "Good thing I'm not a fair-weather rider," she stated happily, refusing to let a little rain ruin her day. "No ugly sky is gonna keep me from the Clubhouse, no way- no how." she proclaimed, "I've been about as patient as I can possibly be."

"You girls go get ready and I'll finish breakfast." she offered cheerfully. "Just about done, are we in a hurry?" Serenity questioned. "No baby," Stax began, "I still have to get in touch with Mac first, and he's waiting on a doctor, it could be a minute. I guess I'm just anxious." she advised. "Well then, let's just enjoy our morning and let the day unfold itself." Offered Lee, as she put the orange juice on the table. "Sounds like a plan." Replied Serenity, looking over to see if Stax was agreeable. "Alrighty then, let's take it slow," agreed Stax, reaching for the orange juice. "No hurries, No worries." she said,  looking at Serenity full in the face for the first time this morning. She looked blissfully happy and Stax found herself taken aback at this. She knew that Serenity liked Lee, alot. But she had  never seen her shine like this before. "She's in love with her." she observed.

Her phone rang just as they were finishing up with breakfast. It was Mac, advising that the doctors were going to keep their son for at least another 24 hours. He told her that he would call again tomorrow morning with an update. Stax asked him if they needed anything and how were the other children. "We are fine, taking turns with the kids, and getting an occasional break from some of the nurses. They let us know when the hospital is having an activity for children and they take them to visit some of the terminally ill kids to give them someone to talk to in their own age group." Stax thought of Tandy and knew that she and Dimples would do what they could for the family.

Once they had cleaned up after breakfast and everyone was dressed and ready, Stax did the  'Biker up' dance and took off on her Harley, while Serenity and Lee followed in the truck. They stopped once to gas up and headed straight for the Clubhouse. It was a short ride from the house, and there was very little time for talking on the way.

It seemed that in reality, Lee was more than just a little apprehensive about meeting all of those bikers. She hadn't really said so, but Serenity could feel that she wasn't at entirely at ease. She realized that it was such a different world from what Lee was accustomed to, so she tried to assure her that everything would be just fine. She was aware, that there would be a period of adjustment for Lee and hopefully, once that she had seen for herself that the big scary bikers weren't so scary, she would relax and get to know them. Serenity was driving and didn't notice when Lee's countenence changed as she teased her about turning on the Gaelic Trio with her long tanned legs and sexy shorts.

Lee had been wanting to go shopping for some more appropriate clothing every since she had arrived, and found that they were going to stay for awhile. All that she had with her was her suitcase from the cruise, and all that she had brought was bathing suits, short's and various colored tank tops and wife-beater's. She felt that she looked too much like a tourist and way too much like a girl. They had been too busy sightseeing and enjoying each other's company for a shopping spree and now here she was about to meet everybody. She felt that she wasn't going to represent herself correctly and she didn't like being seen as feminine. She would be self-concious all day and she knew it.

Serenity on the other hand, did like seeing her out of the mens clothing. She felt that she was beautiful and secretly wished that she wouldn't hide it. She wasn't going to ask her to change who she was because of a personal prefrence,  no more than she would want anyone to ask the same of her. She would enjoy showing her off today, and they would all find out soon enough that she preferred the butch look. This was a different aspect of life for her, being with a women, and she was dealing with adjustment. Her biggest issue was that she couldn't figure out why she didn't feel the urge to share everything about her newest lover with Stax, she always had before.
