WRITER

PAST

★★★

Fucking Ever Porter, the twin sister of Zoey, is amazing, beautiful, all around perfect girl. The more time I spend with her and the late night text messages back and forth has me growing feelings I know I shouldn't. We just spent hours in a club called Insanity. We drank some, but I cut it short since I'll have her on the back of my bike, taking her home. We danced, talked, and I can't remember the last time I had this much fun.

I pull up into her parent's driveway and kill my Harley. She climbs off the back as we both take our helmets off and she comes to stand in front of me, but I have other plans. I stay sitting on my bike, but grab her hand, pulling her hard and fast where she has to straddle my thigh. I take my free hand, bring it up to her hair, gently taking a handful to hold her head in place.

Ever's eyes grow wide as a corner of my mouth lifts. I search those beautiful blues for the okay, and when I get it, I waste no time in bringing her lips to mine. Hers are sweet and soft, her mouth is hot and wet, her honey scent surrounds me, blurring my mind of anything else around us.

The kiss starts slow until it's not enough. I bite down softly on her bottom lip, seeking entrance. Once I feel her lips part, I slip my tongue inside, exploring her mouth as she does the same with mine. It quickly becomes fevered, life changing and dangerous all at the same time.

When I text her back that first night and told her she was everything more, I meant it. I knew when I took it to the next level, everything would cease to exist. It would forever change us and give us both something we never even fuckin' imagined was possible. Sure as shit, I was fuckin' right, because her mouth, lips, and tongue are goddamn mind blowing.

I pull away sooner than I would like to, but her parents are inside. It wouldn't be cool at all if her dad walked out to see his baby girl in an indecent situation that could have us both thrown in jail. And believe me, as hard as my cock is, I'd like nothing more than to rip her clothes off and put her in that situation. But I can't.

I watch as her eyes slowly open up, they are hazy with lust. She wants me as bad as I want her.
That was some kiss,
she signs to me while still trying to catch her breath.

Who you telling, Sugar?
I smile widely.

Will you tell me what “everything more” means now?
I know it's been bugging the shit out of her since I said it, and I haven't told her yet.

That kiss was everything more. What happens from here is everything more. When I get inside of you’ it will be goddamn everything more. From the first night I met you, Ever, it’s been everything more.

I have to ask you something, Writer.
Her head drops, no time for her to be shy now. I use my finger to reach out and lift her chin so she has to face me.

Shoot.

Do you have sex with those underdressed women at the club?

I laugh not only at her question, but also the way she described the whores.
No, Sugar, I don't. The last time I slept with a whore was when I was eighteen and became a prospect. You got nothing to worry about because from now on, the only one that will be under me is you. Now, let me ask you a question.

Shoot.
She throws my word back at me with a sexy grin on her pretty face.

You got anyone I need to be worried about? You up under anyone else?

No, you don't have anything to worry about. I'm only interested in you, Writer.

Good to know, but even if there was, he wouldn't be getting anymore of what's mine, I'll tell you that, Babe. Now, I gotta get back to the club. I'll text you later.
I pull her in one more time for another kiss, this time I keep it short and sweet. I watch as she goes into the house before I start up my bike and head back to the clubhouse.

EVER

I Can't Make You Love Me by Tank

Our gazes interlocking just like they used to, neither of us being able to move a muscle or look away from the other. He’s still the most beautiful person I have ever seen. I know it may be funny to say that about a man, but with him it’s true. He’s always had a lot of tattoos on his arms, with most just being outlines or black and gray, but now he’s added exquisitely done color. It makes the dragon wrapping around his right arm that’s fighting against a tiger and the skull with the top hat on his upper left arm pop. Those were always my two favorites but he’s added exotic flowers and smoke and other things to cover every bit of his skin.

He must have been working out a lot since I left because he’s grown in size also. He used to be leaner, not so much anymore, and it looks like he has black circles around his eyes, maybe from lack of sleep. That still doesn't take away from the beauty of his face, his defined cheekbones, his chiseled and pronounced jawline, his soul searching green eyes. Writer has always been so alluring and just one look at him would have me aching with want. It’s no different now, my body betrays me even with what I just saw.

Zoey and Hunter come out, breaking the trance that both of us have been under. She pulls me to her so she doesn’t step in the mess I’ve made, while Hunter takes him away from me. I feel my heart shatter, even more than I thought it could, as I watch him walk away, straddle his bike and leave. I release from Zoey’s hold so I can sign.
He doesn't love me anymore.

Yes he does, Ever, he's just got so much pain inside of him right now. He’s still hurting, even after all this time. He's never gotten over it. Writer completely changed when you left. He's not the sweet guy we all knew. We waited for him to come back but he never did. That part of him left when you did and I don’t know if even you will be able to bring him back, but we’re going to try. Right now, he just doesn't care about anything or anybody, but we have to change that. You have to bring him back Ever. I think you are the only one who can.
I don't know how she can be so sure after what just happened. I thought I knew Writer better than anyone but I never thought he could be so mean as he just was.

Why didn't you tell me any of this?

Because you asked me not to. I didn't think you would come back either, none of us did. No one has been able to get through to him, but maybe that will change now that you’re here. I saw a small piece of the old him before he came out here. I have hope, and you need it too.

I don't think so, Zoey.
My confidence slips even farther away. I just can't be a positive about this as my sister.

Don't give up so easily, sister.
She gives me a smile.

I'm so happy you’re back. Come on, let's go back to Mom and Dad's. I'll call Jacey, and then we can get Operation Get Writer Back underway. I'm gonna go tell Romeo to clean this mess up first.

Okay. Tell him I’m sorry.
I look down at the mess I created, feeling horrible that he would have to clean that up.

It wouldn’t be the first time he’s had to clean something disgusting up, but I’ll tell him.

When she comes back out, she puts her arm around my shoulder and we head to our cars.

★★★

We’ve been at our parent's house for about an hour when Jacey walks in. She looks good, the same gorgeous woman she always was except happier now. She walks over, pulls me in for a hug and when she backs up, she signs and speaks. “
It's so good to see you Ever, you look great! How are you?”

It's good to see you too Jacey, and it’s really good to be home. I see you’ve gotten good at ASL.
I return the smile that she is giving me.

“I've been trying. Zoey’s a pretty good teacher.”
Her shoulders bounce a few times from chuckling, then she adds,
“So how was the 'big city'?”

Terrible, so not what I thought it would be. I could never make it feel like home, so this is where I know I need to be.

“I'm sorry it was bad for you. Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m really happy to see you, but why did I get called over here?”
Her eyes find my sister and a knowing look crosses over her.

Zoey decides to jump in, speaking and signing.
“Because Writer is a douchebag right now, but we’re on a mission.”

Jacey arches a brow, while asking, “
A mission? For what?”

“Operation Get Writer Back is underway,”
Zoey replies with a shrug of her shoulder and an mischievous smile on her face.

Jacey’s smile takes over. “
What did he do now?”

“He was fucking one of those slut puppies when Ever walked in. Then, he had the nerve to smile at her when he saw her.”

“That motherfucker! Why would you even want her to try and get him back now?”

“Because we know he’s hurting and he regrets doing it. If anyone is going to bring him out of this cluster-fuck of a shit storm he’s found himself in, it will be Ever.”

Hello! Quit talking about this shit like I'm not even here. Jacey, I love him and I came back for him. Now, I just don't know. I think he’s over me, maybe it’s best if I just stay away. And what mess are you guys talking about? Right now, I just don't see the point in even trying.
I walk back over to the couch and sit down while they follow, taking their own seats.

They look to each other, all smiles gone as Jacey looks back at me and responds, “
He has a drug problem, Ever. Like a bad one!”

I start shaking my head no.
What!?
I continue on with disbelief.
No, he wouldn't do that! Not after how his parents were.

Jacey goes on.
“Honey, he is bad. It started right after you left and none of us have been able to help him. We all think you’re the only one that can. God help us all if you can't, because he is going to end up killing himself.”

Zoey, always the one to try and lighten the mood, diverts back to the original reason Jacey is here. I don't think she wants to hear those words as much as I don't want to face the truth of what exactly he has been up to. “
Okay, let's go back to working on getting him and Ever back together first.”

“Good idea. This calls for junk food and wine. Lots of it!”
Jacey calls for my mom and when she gets in the living room she asks,
“Sophia, do you have anything salty, sweet, and all around bad for the digestive system? And wine? Do you have wine? If not, I’ll go to the store.”

The great woman who is my mom responds,
“Yes! I thought it might be needed for this situation. I have a pepperoni pizza in the oven, chips, ice cream, and two bottles of red wine.”

This is perfect! She used to get me the exact same stuff every time I had my heart broke in high school, minus the wine of course.

You’re a good woman and a great mom,”
Jacey states, with an unfamiliar expression sweeping across her face. I wonder if it has anything to do with how her own mom is and the fact that they don’t have a relationship anymore.

Thanks, Mom,
Zoey and I sign in unison.

We all stuff our faces at the dining room table while my dad chose to eat in the living room, staying far away from what turned into a girls' night. He wants no part of being around a bunch of women when one of them is upset because of a man. He learned that the first time I came home crying my eyes out after getting dumped.

Out of nowhere, Jacey states, “
We need to find you a man.”

No, absolutely not!
I reply after about choking on some pizza. I’m not dating or having sex with anyone else.

“I'm not talking about that. We need to find you a man just to make him jealous.”

Oh, good thinking Jacey
!” Zoey chimes in, getting that sneaky little smile back. I'm looking around the room like they’re all fucking crazy. You know how they look? Like a bunch of conniving little witches with glints in their eyes.
