“Excuse us.” He slapped Brianna on the ass and watched her walk away.

“Real funny Janay.” He said, punching her in the mouth, causing blood to gush out of her bottom lip. “Don’t fuck with me.”

“You hit me!” she gasped.

Swinging at him, he ducked, then put her in a choke hold. “Now what? Girl what’s the matter with you?” She was crying but no sounds were coming out. He turned her loose yelling, “What is the matter with you? Huh?”

“Everything Shadee! But you gonna hit me over that skank ass hoe?” She stormed to the door, turned around and said, “You gonna choose that hoe over me? It’s like that between us? That hurts Shadee. But you know what? I can’t be mad because y’all deserve each other.”

“It’s not like that Janay.”

“Fuck you Shadee. Because you’re gonna need me and our son before we need you!” She slammed the door so hard one of the pictures of him and her slid down the wall.

“Janay!” He ran to the door after her. “Janay!” She jumped in her car and pulled off.

“Damn!” he cursed as he slammed the door.

“Sha what was that all about?”

He brushed past her and went to the bedroom. She was right on his heels. “What was that about?”

“Nothing B. How much you need?” He asked as he was throwing on some clothes.

“I need 20Gs. What was she talking about?” She went back to it.

“I don’t have that much here.”

She sucked her teeth. “What do you have?”

“Let me check. Get dressed. I gotta run.”

“I need a shower.”

“You don’t have time. Get dressed, I gotta go.”

“What? You gotta run after that bitch?”

“Get dressed. And when did you start caring who the fuck I ran after?” He went in the closet and when he came back he handed her some money.

She thumbed through it. “Two Gs? Sha come on. I’m in a bind.”

Sha wanted to make her sweat. “That’s all I got B,” he lied. He was now dressed and ready to go. He went into the bathroom and gathered up her clothes. When he turned around she was right behind him. “Get dressed. I gotta go.”

She snatched them from him and stormed into the bedroom. “I need more than this!”

He stood there with his keys in hand. “C’mon. Let’s go.”

A week later…

“Yo B. I’m coming over. Just making sure you home.”

“Where you been? I’ve been trying to get in touch with you.” Brianna sounded a little tipsy.

“I was outta town. What? You wanted to know where I was going so you could set me up again?” He decided to make fun of her but keep it real at the same time.

“That ain’t me no more Shadee. And you don’t know how sorry I am for doing you like that.”

Shadee held the phone out and looked at it as if it were a snake. This didn’t sound like the scandalous, gold diggin’ Brianna that he had grown use to. However, her change in attitude wasn’t gonna stop him from giving her the ultimate dose of payback.

“Are you there Sha?”

“Yeah I’m here. I’ll be there in a few.”

Shadee had needed to get away. Mainly from Janay. He still couldn’t believe that Janay had found him out, discovering his secret life. Talkin’ about a nigga being embarrassed! He almost shit on him
self. He was still beating himself up for getting lax. He shouldn’t have fucked Doc in Janay’s crib. Rule number one. He didn’t know what the fuck had come over him. Hell, he thought that she was gone to her mom’s crib. He wanted to kill Doc for acting like a straight-up bitch, whining and all that shit that bitches do. That’s what blew the lid off his cover, he convinced himself. That shit there really threw him for a loop. It was almost as if Doc was gettin’ off on the shit. Any other time they would just fuck and keep it moving. No conversation. No lovey-dovey shit. That shit was for faggots. He couldn’t understand why Doc was acting like Monica—“So Gone.” Blowing up his voice mail, keying his ride, parking in front of the crib, just plain stalking him. Last night Shadee had to threaten him and tell him if he didn’t cut the bullshit he was going to cut off his dick and stuff it in his ass. He told him niggas don’t act the way he’s been acting: like a bitch! The only bright side was that he knew his secret was safe with Janay. Especially since she got them bodies. She didn’t want to go to jail for murder. She had been blowin’ up his two-way but he didn’t care. She was the last person he wanted to see. He was still very embarrassed in front of her.

He took his time and drove to South Carolina to see his pop. He had wanted to clear his mind and confide in him but couldn’t bring himself to do it. His pops loved Janay. While he was down there he visited his mother who was in a nursing home battling Alzheimer’s. So he couldn’t talk to her either. And now the demons were festering inside and he felt like he was going crazy! Being on the DL was going with him to his grave.

The only thing that was presently on his mind
was getting Brianna back. Shadee began to reminisce as he put his ride on cruise control.

The two of them went back to elementary. They use to live across the hall from each other in the same building. Their mothers made them go to church together on Sundays; they walked to and from school together every day; Shadee always had her back—they even went to their ninth grade prom together. Even though they went their separate ways after that, they never went far and the bond that they built during childhood was never broken. Shadee did his thing and Brianna did hers. He had never looked at her sexually until her twentieth birthday. She was hooked up with this baller named Black Jax. He should have been called Black Ugly Jax because that’s what he was: black and ugly. As a matter of fact, he’s the reason why she ended up having to do that fed bid. Brianna was a money lover. She didn’t care who had it or how they got it!

Black Jax had Club Steez on lock for a double birthday bash. Brianna and Jax were born hours apart. She came through at 10:00
P.M.
and he came through at 12:14
A.M.
the next day. Shadee had found out by word of mouth that the party was going down.

He had just come home from doing eleven months on a possessions charge. He was sitting at the bar looking around, trying to decide who he was going to take home. The girl sitting next to him who was buying him drinks was talking too much. However, she was fine and appeared to have money. He was the male version of Brianna. He got his own money but at the same time, when a hoe wanted to get with him she had to have hers.

His eyes zoomed in on Brianna. He hadn’t seen her in over a year. She had on a white halter top and a white miniskirt to match. “
Damn! Look at my girl! She lookin’ good!”
The thigh high stockings and garter belt was really throwin’ him for a loop.

The young lady sitting next to him looked at him and snapped back her neck as if to say “No, this nigga ain’t disrespectin’ me like this!”

Shadee ignored her as he watched Black Jax politic as if he were the president, thinkin’ he was the shit while wearing Brianna on his arm. Even though he had to admit that while he was down and from what he heard in the few hours that he was home, Black Jax was that nigga. Shadee needed a come-up and it looked like Brianna had his ticket.

When he saw Black Jax kiss her on the cheek, then step off with a couple of his boys, Shadee eased off the bar stool and headed her way. She was now talking to a group of ladies when all of a sudden they turned their attention to him. When Brianna saw that it was him she screamed, “Sha, is that you?” Practically jumping in his arms and breaking his neck. “When did you get home?” She stepped back to get a good look at him. “Damn, you look good! Look at you, all buff and shit! Let me find out that’s all you been doing with your time. Did your moms give you the money I gave her to send you?”

“Yeah she sent it.”

“Sha,” she whined, giving him another hug. “When did you get home?”

“Day before yesterday.”

“Why you ain’t come over?”

“Girl I don’t even know where you live anymore.”

“You could have asked your moms; she has all of my info.” She still had her arms around his neck.

“You been a’ight?”
Damn, she smells good. And she feels so soft.

“Yeah I’m fine.”

“I can see that. You lookin’ scrumptious.” He ran his hands over her ass. “What you doin’ with that busta ass nigga?”

“Sha you know I gots to get mines. I gots to live. That’s all that’s up.”

“Well I need to get mines. What’s up?”

“Just say the word babee. I’m down for whatever. You know that you family and ain’t nothin’ changed.”

“Good as you lookin’ I don’t wanna be family no more.” He had pulled her close.

Brianna surprised, smiled as she pressed up against his dick. “You need to ask me to dance or something before folks get to talking.” She didn’t want to let him go.

“You want to dance?”

“Sure. After all, it is my birthday.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him onto the dance floor.

“Who is that?” One of the girls in the circle Brianna had just left wanted to know.

“Ain’t no telling,” Patrice answered. “She better hope Black Jax don’t catch her dancin’ all up on that nigga like that.”

Sure enough, as they watched, Brianna and Shadee was all over one another as if they were long-lost lovers. “How long you been gone Sha?”

“Eleven months.”

“Damn. Who the lucky hoe?”

Sha blushed. “What you mean?”

“You know what I mean nigga! Some lucky hoe
got her back banged out by a nigga who ain’t had no pussy in eleven months. Who is she?”

“Why? What you tryna say?”

“Nigga you hear me loud and clear. I wish it was me. That’s what I’m saying.”

“Yeah, well, it’s goin’ down tonight.”

“Boy please. You know it done already went down! You forgot who you talkin’ to, so stop playin’.”

“I ain’t playin’, Ma. That honey dip sittin’ at the bar rollin’ her eyes at you, she gonna get all this.”

Brianna fell into his trap as she craned her neck over his shoulder to see who he was talking about. “Nigga, please!” she snapped when she saw that she was no competition. “Fuck that hoe! You got a pro right here!”

Shadee laughed at her wisecrack. “How you gonna break away from that nigga? Look like you all claimed up and he clockin’ your every move. I see that as a little problem because foreal, foreal, I wanna fuck you now while you got these pretty ass stockings on and no panties. These shits is sexy as hell,” he said as he rubbed up and down her thigh.

“Nigga you ain’t said nothin’ but a word. In about fifteen minutes meet me in front of the ladies’ room upstairs.” She gave him a wicked grin.

“Bet.” Here scandalous ass Brianna was planning on fucking another nigga in the club while her man was only a few feet away.

Damn.
Brianna said to herself while looking at the Cartier on her wrist.

Twenty minutes had passed and Black Jax was drunk and not letting Brianna out of his sight. Jax
and her had been kickin’ it for over a year. He was ballin’ outta control, took damn good care of her but was jealous as hell and a terrible fuck. He was so bad that Brianna was desperate enough to fuck Shadee, who was really like family. On top of that, with so many folks around she was still willing to take a chance of getting busted by anyone, including Jax.

“Jax baby, my stomach feels funny. I’ll be back. Let me go to the bathroom,” she whispered into his ear.

“What?” he yelled at her as he threw back a straight shot of Henny.

“My stomach feels funny. Let me go to the ladies’ room.”

“I ain’t stoppin’ you! But don’t make me come lookin’ for your ass!”

“Now why would you have to do that?” She kissed him on the cheek as she eased away from their table. “Damn!” She mumbled as she began pushing her way through the crowd, hoping that Shadee was where she told him to be because fifteen minutes had come and gone. “Happy Birthday, girl!” Her cousin Mingo had grabbed her and was hugging her so tight she could barely breathe. “Thanks Mingo. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Oh, okay girl. You wearin’ that outfit.”

“I know.” Brianna said. “Jealous bitches,” she mumbled, finally making it to the steps. When she got to the top of the stairs her pussy was so wet the juice was oozing down her thighs. She looked towards the ladies’ restroom and Shadee was there but he wasn’t alone. Some chick with what looked like a pair of double Ds that were too big for her body was all up in his face. “Sha I was lookin’ all over for you!” She
grabbed him around his waist pulling him away from double D. Double D was standing there waiting and expecting Shadee to say something.

When he didn’t she said to Brianna, “You are so rude!”

“Excuse us. I’ll holla at you.” Shadee told her and watched her ass jiggle when she turned around and walked away pissed.

Brianna sucked her teeth as she pulled him down the hall. “Nigga you can do betta than that.”

“I was getting ready to bounce. I thought you ain’t want to get with this.”

There was a line outside of both bathrooms. So Brianna pulled him up another set of stairs which led to an attic door that was locked. “Aw dayum.”

“Fuck it!” Shadee said as he ran his hand up her thigh, not giving her a chance to turn around, and began fingering her pussy. Smiling at how wet she was he immediately pulled his dick out and hit it from the back.

The next day he went to her house and hit it again. The day after that she snuck out and went to a hotel and got it again. However, it didn’t take long for them to agree that they were too much alike to be a couple. But just like Peanut, Shadee was someone who could get it any time. But the bond of growing up together wouldn’t allow things to stop there. She did eventually set up Black Jax and that’s how Shadee got his come up, once again.

So now here he was, back from South Carolina and at her front door. The bond that they had had over the years was broken in half when she set him up and almost got him killed. Over the years he had
been nothing but good to her. He cared for her almost as much as he cared for Janay. This bitch had to be taught that the line had to be drawn somewhere. Now the only thing on his mind was killing her: slowly.
