"Is there something you need?" Joseph asked as he began the cool down. He slowed to a jog then a fast walk then climbed off the machine and stretched out used muscles. Dale just watched.

"You naked on the massage table," Dale finally offered. Joseph smirked that familiar grin and ran hands through his short sweaty hair.

"You gonna let me shower first?" Dale tilted his head as if to consider the question. "It's a big shower,"

Joseph added. He walked past Dale and through the door at the back to the bathrooms, and Dale followed. He toed off his boots and stripped his jeans and T as he went. When they stood at the shower, it was Joseph that was over dressed.

Dale groaned low in his throat, angling his head, biting and sucking at Joseph's lips, soothing with his tongue, trying to lead the kiss. Joseph dueled and switched their places, dragging Dale up against the wall, settling himself before Dale's spread legs. Dale couldn't help pushing his hardness against him in a desperate need to get closer, to taste and to have. The kiss was lust and pain, and he could taste the metallic blood in his mouth as they battled for control.

"Clothes off," Dale forced out between kisses.

Joseph pulled back for nothing more than a few seconds, shucking training clothes at record speed. Then he was back, and Dale wanted to say something coherent, but he couldn't. Whatever they had was like a storm. Unrestrained energy. Hot and powerful. It was dragging him along in its wake. Joseph possessed every part of him, swept him away, pulling him so close then pushing him hard against the wall. He pinned both of Dale's hands with one of his own above Dale's head, pressing their dicks together. Joseph rutted against him, and Dale was so close to freaking losing it. So fast. He might not want a picket fence, or even promises of forever, but this here and now was perfect, and he sure as hell was never letting this man go.

"I… Joseph… I'm gonna…" Dale tried to speak as he felt himself tip over the edge into orgasm, Joseph pushing once, twice against him and groaning into Dale's ear as he followed him over. They stood for a long time against the cool tiles, breathing against each other.

"What you do to me…" Joseph whispered low and heated, his hands curling into Dale's short hair. Dale started a kiss, but this time, the kisses were less brutal and more perfect. He heard himself nearly whine when Joseph pulled back from the tender exchanges.

"Shower." Starting the water, Joseph tested until it was right and then tugged Dale under the multiple heads.

The water washed away their mingled release and the sweat from Joseph. Then it was only a matter of time before Dale gave up fighting what he wanted—another taste of Joseph.

His hands continued to massage Joseph's body, his taut thighs and his muscles, his hands moving down, skirting his groin, massaging long legs as he knelt at his lover's feet, the water beading and carding through his hair. He blinked the water from his eyelashes and looked up at Joseph's serious expression. Sinking lower, he touched lips and tongue to the hard length of his lover. Joseph instinctively gripped Dale's hair, massaging fingers into his scalp, murmuring and cursing his appreciation of Dale, then he tilted his hips up. His dick slid farther between Dale's lips and deep into the tight wet heat of a determined Dale, who just swallowed more, tighter and harder. The action pushed him out of the main flow of the shower, and breathing became easier.

"Fuck," Joseph said as he pulled Dale away and fisted himself. "No more." He looked pained and stopped the movement of his hand for a second to hold the base of his dick tight. "I want this inside you."

"We don't have—"

"My room."

Joseph grabbed at Dale's hand and gripped hard, pulling Dale out of the gym and down the corridor to his room. Wet feet made for a slipping sliding experience on the stone floors, but neither man cared. When the door shut behind them, Joseph was on the offensive, and Dale didn't fight it. He had been waiting his whole life for an equal, for someone who could take the passion he had inside him and not back down. Lust and need were combined in a blinding white heat as he arched against Joseph's now slick fingers and closed his eyes, his hands scrabbling uselessly at Joseph's strong arms. Stumbling, they finally made it to the bed, wet and laughing and falling in a heap of limbs.

Joseph was the first to move.

"My turn," Joseph demanded, sitting up and leaning across Dale's lap, holding his face in a strong grip, marking his face with open-mouthed kisses. Dale closed his eyes and focused on the kiss. "Open your eyes, Dale." Dale tried, he did, but he was lost to the sensation of want that had consumed him, making him edgy and needy. "Dale, I am so fuckin' hard. I want everything with you. Suck me off, touch me, open me, move me. You are gorgeous, the sounds you make, your hands, I want you to tell me this isn't just me that is feeling so turned on."

Dale opened his eyes and stared up at Joseph. This was fast, but the connection he felt to this man, his lover, was more than he had ever had with anyone.

"I… I want to…" Dale stopped. He wanted so much, and his body ached to touch Joseph, to be touched by him, but could they do this? Should they take it slower?

Joseph near whined in frustration, leaning over to lick a line up Dale's neck and reaching his mouth, his lips wet and open and licking into Dale's warmth, exchanging tastes. At that moment, Dale was lost in the hot white lust he had only ever experienced with the man who was astride his lap.

"Please, Joseph."

"Lie back."

Dale complied, holding tight to the headboard, just waiting. Joseph kissed Dale from mouth to neck to chest to hips to inner thigh, his hands trailing a hot path behind his mouth. He finally paused, slicking fingers again and moving them behind Dale, taking his time, his mouth dancing and sucking around Dale's hard length.

Dale wanted to move. The tension in body was tight and hot, lust crawling under his skin and forcing a curse of need from his lips. Joseph held him down, using a combination of his free hand digging into his thigh and his own body weight, curling his arm around Dale's bent leg, imprisoning him. Too much. Fingers ghosted over the center of him, and he arched suddenly and violently at the pleasure that whipped its way through his blood.

He heard Joseph say something, calming him, gentling him, but all Dale could manage was a strangled gasp as he tried to stave off orgasm. Removing his fingers, Joseph kiss-bit Dale's body as he climbed up it and was finally sinking into those lips, sharing the taste, running slick-slippery fingers into Dale's hair. Dale had to stop himself from telling Joseph he loved him. It couldn't be love. Love didn't happen to people like him and Joseph.

Sex yes, lust yes, but anything more permanent? No. Still, he had never known want or need as acute as what he felt with this man. He knew inside he would never again feel this way about any other person. This hot, this needy, this wanted.

He had to make this last… just in case.

When Joseph sheathed himself and then moved against him and pushed inside, the burn was bearable as Joseph whispered his appreciation against Dale's skin. As
deep as he could be, Joseph finally traced kisses to Dale's mouth, and they lay connected as Joseph collected as many kisses as he could. Dale wanted him to move. Subtly, he rolled his hips and swallowed the noise that left Joseph's lips.

It was the signal for go, and Joseph was punishing in his pace. His dick passed Joseph's gland randomly, pegging it enough to want more but not enough for Dale to lose it quickly. Joseph closed his eyes, sweat sheening his skin, and the muscles in his neck corded with exertion.

This is what Dale wanted, this absolute concentration and the intense connection as Joseph snapped open his gray eyes and demanded that Dale touch himself, that he was close, that he wanted to lose it now. Dale didn't argue, his hand wrapping between his body and Joseph's tight on his dick then looser as he caressed the length of it.

"Now, Dale," Joseph said. His breathing was harsh, and he bowed his head, then with a final thrust, he stilled and allowed orgasm to steal his strength. Dale was seconds behind, the extra weight of a boneless Joseph the added push to tumble him over the edge into his own orgasm.

The noise of a cell and Joseph's movement next to him woke Dale. They had fallen asleep where they lay after Joseph had wiped them down. They hadn't talked; they'd slept.

It was easy sleep. Calm and relaxed, Joseph spooned Dale and held him possessively. They had promised nothing, said no words of forever, but Dale knew.

He knew he wanted to be the person Joseph sought when he was on leave. He knew he would try to organize his Sanctuary work so they could meet. He craved more. Not just the sex but also the kissing, the snarkiness, and the feeling of being wanted and needed. He wanted a chance to top this sailor, and take him inside himself as many times as he could. He desired to be marked and kissed and wanted. But… As he listened to Joseph's end of the conversation, he knew it might have to wait.

"Fifteen hundred," Joseph was stating, then he finished the call. "Hey," he said softly, "you awake?"

"Yeah," Dale answered quickly.

"I have a situation back at base; they're shipping us back out in forty-eight."

Unwanted fear gripped Dale, but he wasn't going to let Joseph see that. Instead he rolled over and pulled his lover close, holding tight.

"Do we get a quick ten minutes first?" he asked with a suggestive lift of his eyebrows. Joseph smirked and rested his forehead against Dale's.

"Well, at least five."

The spare 4x4 in the offside garage was apparently Kayden's, and he gifted it as a lender for Joseph to make his way south. Jeez, Dale thought, they hadn't even considered the fact that the stolen Lambo had been totaled, and he wondered for a moment who had cleared up that particular mess. Probably someone incredibly pissed off they had lost the van and its occupants from radar. Kayden left them after a goodbye for Joseph.

"So…" Dale began carefully. He wanted to be a man about this, not blow the fact he had just met the man of his fantasies and dreams by actually telling said man.

"So," Joseph repeated with a smile.

"Stay safe." Dale rationalized this was an appropriate warning and encompassed the whole 'don't get killed 'cause I think I love you" thing without him turning into a freaking girl.

"And you." Joseph, the fucker, had a smirk on his face.

"What's so funny?"

"I like you, Dale MacIntyre. A lot. In fact, I think it's probably love if we used a checklist. What do you say?

If I make it out of the Navy alive, do you think Sanctuary might have room for an old married couple?"

Dale felt his mouth open. He even had words in his head, although they weren't much past the level of "what the fuck?" He coughed and stumbled as Joseph pulled him close and hugged him hard.

"Tell you what, Dale. You don't have to say anything. Just stay alive, watch your back, and for fuck's sake, stay away from the Bullens."

"Okay," Dale answered quickly. He was processing everything Joseph had said and was stuck on the "probably love" statement.

Joseph smiled, but Dale saw a fleeting glimpse of something in his lover's eyes. Disappointment? Doubt? He couldn't tell, but he didn't want Joseph leaving with uncertainty in his head.

Quickly, he captured Joseph's lips in a heated kiss, and when they parted, he had only one thing he wanted to say.

"Go kick some ass, come back in one piece, and I don't
think
what I feel for you is the start of love. I know it is."

They hugged, and neither said another word. What they did for country and those in need were very different in execution, but at the end of the day, each of them held the same beliefs and principles inside.

And now it appeared they were also in love. Go figure. Nik was going to have a field day with this.

Dale watched the 4x4 disappear around the corner, carrying his kickass hero lover to fuck knows where. His cell vibrated in his pocket, and he pulled it out to check the screen. Nik's name showed, and he answered with a brief hello.

"Manny has the letter and is trying to decipher what was destroyed by blood. Official line from the FBI says it's nothing, and they want to kill it. They're counting Greg's death as a win and say they have bigger fish to fry."

"Alastair or the senator."

"God knows."

Dale listened and digested the news. "Fuck that," he offered succinctly.

"Pick you up in a couple of hours?"

"I'll be here."

He disconnected the call and shrugged against the light rain that was icy cold and threatened to morph to falling snow very soon.

Nik was coming to get him.

And just like Joseph, Dale had a job to do. But now, not only did he have a Sanctuary mission, he had a personal one too. He may not want a picket fence any more than Joseph did and hell, Joseph may well have been joking when he said he wanted the whole old married couple thing.

Still, Joseph spending every available spare moment of down time with Dale? Together? Maybe building something for the future? Dale smiled to himself.

He could totally get with that program.
