“Don’t. Call. Me. Lizzie!” she shrieked, throwing small stones at him after each word. Eventually, one connected. With that tiny spot of pain as a stone hit him on the leg, Ben’s self-control finally snapped.

Another woman would probably be frightened if he advanced toward them practically growling, but in Lizzie’s eyes, he saw something akin to triumph as he closed the distance between them. He grabbed her face in his hands and thrust his tongue into her mouth. He felt her fingers bury themselves in his hair, holding him just as tightly as he held her. He claimed her mouth, ravaging it, asserting his right to be there.

“I’ll call you whatever I damn well please!” he growled after pulling away. He looked directly into her eyes, which stared fiercely back at him.

“I hate you!” she hissed.

“Fine!” he snapped back. He slipped his fingers into the holes between the buttons of her blouse and pulled it apart in one quick motion. He heard it tear and saw some buttons go flying off, but he didn’t care. He reached into her bra and pulled out her breasts, exposing them to his gaze and the cool night air. For a spilt second, he paused, wondering to himself how she would react. If she pushed him away, he wanted to believe he could control himself enough to go, but he honestly didn’t know.

Lizzie gasped as the cool breeze hit her breasts and then retaliated by ripping off his shirt. He helped her and yanked it off before burying his face in her beautiful large breasts. He heard Lizzie moan with pleasure as he slipped one nipple into his mouth and began to tease the other with his thumb and forefinger.

He could feel her pulling at his belt, but he was far too busy to help her. Soon she got it off and began undoing the button and fly of his jeans. He moaned as she pulled his dick out and began slowly rubbing her hand up and down it. He felt like a teenager again, ready to lose control any moment. He pushed her away so that he could pull his jeans and boxers completely off. While he did, so she took off her skirt and panties. She was just unhooking her bra as he pulled her back into his arms.

With one hand, he held the back of her head as he kissed her. With the other hand, he reached for her car door. He was careful not to let her bang her head as they fell together into the back seat. With no foreplay or warning, he thrust his dick into her body. He knew she would be wet enough for him. Her mouth fell open in surprise as he pushed all the way inside of her. It felt so good to be inside of her once more. He set a slow steady rhythm as he began to slide in and out of her body. Her legs wrapped around him as she tried to push her deeper and further into her wet passage. She matched his rhythm, digging her nails into his back. Vaguely, he was aware that she had probably drawn blood, but right then, all he could think about was her and how good it felt to be inside her again.

He knew her well enough to know just how close she was to the edge and how to get her there. He reached between them and began rubbing her clit as he thrust in and out of her. Her moans grew louder and louder as he pushed her closer and closer to the brink. When he got her there she shouted his name, and he could feel her muscles spasming around his cock. Her climax was the last straw that pushed him over the edge as well. He shot his seed deep into her womb, only then remembering that he had not thought to use any sort of protection.

Disgusted with himself, he pulled himself off her body and out of the car. He was too ashamed of himself to even look at her as he stumbled around in the darkness, snatching his clothes off the ground. He was acting like a horny teenager, and she deserved better than that. Any woman would.

“Ben?” She spoke softly and hesitantly – he almost did not even hear her. At the sound of her voice, he felt the pain of his stupidity even more acutely.

“I’m sorry. This was a mistake.” He could not even look at her. He just bolted.

In the back of her car, Liz slowly pulled her knees to her chest, curling her naked body into a ball. She did not understand. What the hell just happened? One moment they were having sex, and the next he was gone. What had he meant when he said it was a mistake? She had seen the look on his face when he left. Was he ashamed to have slept with her?

Liz could feel the tears welling up in her eyes, and angrily; she forced them away. She was done crying over Ben Anderson. She could sit there naked, lost, and alone, or she could pick herself up, get dressed, and drive home. Her choice was clear.

Chapter 4

Liz awoke from a restless sleep by the sound of a car door. Glancing out her window, she saw a cop car in the drive. Ben. Groaning, she covered her head with a pillow. She could not deal with him today. That man put her on an emotional roller coaster. She just didn’t have the energy.

The doorbell rang. Liz ignored it. Maybe he would think she was out and go away.

“Lizzie! I know you are in there.” Or perhaps not. Ben continued to yell through the door, “seriously, Lizzie. Your car is here. I know you are home.” Liz grumbled a bit to herself, but she pulled on a robe and walked over to answer the door. Perhaps if she talked to him, he would leave.

“What do you want?” she asked as she opened the door. Ben was there in uniform. He held out a bag from the local pharmacy. His expression was pained as he regarded her. At least now it seemed he could look at her.

“For you,” he said stiffly, handing the pharmacy bag to her. “I’m sorry.” She opened it and saw an over the counter morning-after pill inside.

“What’s this?” she asked.

“I was out of control last night. I was not thinking about contraceptives.”

“It’s all right – I was. I am on the pill,” she told him.

“You’re on the pill?” he asked, sounding incredulous.

“What, you think as soon as you walked out of my life, I became celibate?” she laughed.

“What? No. Of course not.” He looked embarrassed, and she knew he was lying.

“You did!” she accused him. “You are so full of it! Wait – is that why you bolted last night? You were worried about impregnating me?”

“I acted rashly, and I had no way to know you didn’t,” he said stiffly. “I should not have just left. I came by to apologize and rectify the situation.”

Ten years too late, she thought to herself. She hadn’t even realized that she voiced the thought until Ben responded to it.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“Nothing,” she said quickly, shaking her head. “Thanks for the pill. See you later.” She tried to shut the door, but he pushed his way in. She turned to walking away, but he caught her arm and spun her back around to face him.

“Lizzie, what did you mean?” he demanded.

“I was pregnant,” she sighed with a small shrug. “When you left me, I was pregnant.”

“Do I have a child?” His eyes looked dangerous, and his hands gripped her arms so tightly it was painful.

“No,” she said softly. His grip on her arms relaxed as he took a breath before continuing. “I lost the baby. The doctor said it was stress.” She briefly closed her eyes. All these years later and the memory of her miscarriage still hurt.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” The danger in Ben’s eyes was gone. All she saw there was a pain to match her own.

“I didn’t want you to feel trapped,” she said with a helpless shrug. “I was eighteen, and I was stupid and scared. All I knew was that I wanted you to stay because you loved me not out of some sense of duty or obligation.” Liz looked up at him, nervously biting her lip. How would he react?

For a few moments, he could not speak. He simply stood there looking shocked. Clearly, it had never occurred to him that she could have been pregnant.

“How?” he asked.

“We got careless, I guess. You remember how we were. When we started, we were so careful, but by the end, we sort of started just guessing whether or not I was ovulating.”

“That was stupid.”

“Yes,” she agreed. “Yes, it was. We were kids though.”

“What would you have done?” he asked. “If you hadn’t miscarried?”

“I was going to keep the baby,” she said with a sad smile. “My parents were furious, but they promised to help me in any way they could.”

“Would you ever have told me?”

“Eventually,” she explained. “If you left, I was going to wait until a little bit baby was born. I wasn’t planning to keep our child a secret from you forever. It’s just that after I lost the baby… well I guess there just didn’t seem to be any reason to tell you about the pregnancy.”

“Damn,” he breathed.

“I’m sorry. I know this is a lot to process.” She was sorry it had slipped out. This wasn’t something he needed to know. She looked up at him, into his dark-green eyes she saw, sadness for the loss of the child he never knew he could have had, and she also saw compassion there. He pulled her into his arms, and she buried her head in his chest.

“I’m sorry,” Ben said. He kissed the top of her head. “You should not have had to go through that alone.”

Ben and Liz spent the next hour talking before Liz had to leave for work. He filled her in on his life, and explained that he had moved back home because his mother was ill. She told him about her work and got him up to speed on the lives of some of their old friends.

Liz had forgotten what it was like to talk to Ben. She had forgotten how easy it was. He made her feel more like herself than anyone else in the world ever could. Of course, he had changed somewhat. He was slightly more reserved now, and he also radiated a sense of confidence that he had lacked as a teenager. At the end of the day, however, he was still her Ben.

“I know you have to go to work, and so do I, but I feel like we still have so much more to talk about,” Liz said as she walked him to the door.

“Have dinner with me,” suggested Ben.

“All right,” agreed Liz.

“I’ll pick you up at 7:00.”

Chapter 5

At 6:50pm, Liz was running around her house like a mad woman. It had been so long since she had been on a date, and this was so much more than just an ordinary date. Generally, Liz was the sort of woman who tried on one outfit before leaving the house. Tonight, she tried nine. She had even experimented with putting on some makeup; she found that her sister had left behind in the guestroom. She knew herself well enough to know that part of her pre-date panic came from wanting Ben to feel like he had made the biggest mistake of her life, and part of it was because she still had feelings for him. She had finally chosen a dress when the doorbell rang.

Ben believed in being early. He never wanted to make people wait, so he made sure he was at Lizzie’s door at 6:55pm. As he waited for her to open the door, he glanced down at the single long stemmed rose he held and hoped he hadn’t overdone the formality. She could be just expecting dinner at the local diner. Even so, Ben wanted to make this gesture. In ten years, he had never met a woman who could match his Lizzie for wit or passion, and he knew if he was ever going to have a prayer of winning her back, he needed to pull out all the stops.

When Lizzie opened the door, it was all he could do not to let his jaw drop. She wore a classy black dress that emphasized her curves, and a necklace that he bought her for their first anniversary. She was gorgeous. He had loved looking at her when they were in high school, but now she was a woman. There were a strength and maturity to her now that she had not had then. In that moment, he wished ardently that he had never left – which were no doubt her intent.

“You look amazing, Lizzie,” he praised her, offering the rose. She took it.

“Thank you,” she said, smiling at him. “You clean up pretty well yourself! Come in. I want to put this in water.”

He followed her into the house and watched as she found a vase to put the rose in.

“You remembered,” she commented with a smile as she filled the vase with water.

“How could I forget?” he said with a smile. “I wasn’t sure if they would still be your favorite though.”

“They are,” she assured him. “I will always love roses.” She set the vase on her little kitchen table and admired it. “Thank you.”

“You are very welcome,” he could not seem to stop smiling at her. She was so beautiful.

Lizzie began walking toward him when suddenly she stumbled. He moved to catch her, but before he made it across the room, she had been steadied herself.

“Perfect,” she laughed humorlessly.

“Are you okay?” he asked, concerned.

“The heel of my shoe broke. I guess that’s what I get for wearing ancient heels.” She backed up to sit on the couch and reached down to try to pull off her broken shoe.

“Let me,” Ben said, stopping her. He knelt down at her feet and undid the little buckle on her shoe. Gently, he guided her foot out of the complicated, strappy shoe. Once he freed her foot, he could not resist lightly kissing her ankle before moving to the other foot. After freeing it from the shoe, he kissed the inside of her shin.

“You know,” said Lizzie, her voice sounding a bit breathless, “I actually don’t think I’m that hungry tonight.”

“Mmm?” Ben murmured, moving up her leg to kiss her knee.

“Yes, I…” she trailed off as Ben found his way to the inside of her thigh. He kissed his way up to it. Wordlessly, he slipped his hands under her dress. Obligingly, Lizzie lifted her hips so that he could slip off her lacy black panties. Carelessly, he tossed them away and returned to kissing her thigh. Slowly, he moved closer and closer to her pussy. The closer he got, the quicker her breaths became, until he finally got there and her legs fell apart like petals giving him complete access to her beautiful wetness.
