"Hey you!... Come back!" She cried out running to find him then turned to Yuki. "Stay here and look after her for a bit please. I will be back in a minute Yuki."

Yuki barked with acknowledgment. Iliana ran after the young man who was making his
way to the yacht harbour. She called out to him again when she was close behind him.

"Hey!"

He stopped and turned round to face Iliana who did not expect him to turn round
so quickly, so halted abruptly then stepped back a little. He was even more handsome
close-up. His dark brown hair was naturally swept back behind his ears, brushing the
collar of his shirt. Bangs of hair delicately fell over his familiar looking crystal deep blue
eyes. His high sculpted cheek bones were like the male models in the Vogue magazines
that Mother constantly insists on Iliana to read. The slightly stern expression on his face
gave him that manly look which would melt any woman to her knees. But Iliana was
more annoyed at his behaviour from earlier that she soon forgot how gorgeous and
breathtaking he looked.

"Why did you just walk away like that without helping us back there? Or even to
check if we were all right?"

"I did not think you needed checking up
on." He answered in a deep well spoken
English voice with a tone of arrogance.

"How could you not? There were two clearly
distressed young girls towered over
by some ruthless boys. What more evidence did you need to give your assistance?" Iliana
asked getting a little flustered.

"Why... am I supposed to be your babysitter? And besides... you could have
screamed to get attention... is that not what you girls
normally do?" He responded in a
sarcastic tone.

Iliana gave him a disbelieved and disgusted look.

"Do you even call yourself a gentleman?" She managed to ask him.

"Where did you crawl out from?... The eighteenth century?" He replied in a cold
tone.

And with that he turned his back on Iliana’s shocked face and walked away towards the
yacht harbour. Iliana could feel her blood curdling with rage, her face went pink as she
tried to calm herself down. A white furry animal stood next to her, Iliana then realised it
was Yuki.

"That was Kazuki Jacob Williams." Said a soft voice from the other side of Iliana.

It was the girl she tried to help. She looked as if she had been crying all day, her eyelids
were swollen and the whites of her eyes had a pink touch. Although she did have lovely
light green eyes that were framed with long lashes and her cheeks were so peachy, Iliana
wanted to pinch them but she tried to contain herself.

"My name is Chloe... Chloe Smithers by the way." She said.

"Iliana... Iliana D’Coye... Are you alright?"

"I am now... thanks to you and your friend here." Chloe answered looking down at
Yuki.

"Her name is Yuki."

Chloe smiled as Yuki barked proudly at the sound of her name.

"That Kazuki is hot but a little stern!" Chloe remarked as they slowly walked
together on the soft sand while Yuki splashed around in the shallow waters.

"A
little?" Iliana sarcastically interrupted. "Understatement of the Year."

Chloe chuckled then continued. "I do not know if you are aware but this city and mainly
this town is where the rich resides. There is also a rank within the wealthy families. The
Williams’s, Kazuki’s family is down at the bottom rank and people think of it as a
misfortune... although..." Chloe pointed her index finger up in the air as if she had just
remembered something. "He is popular with the girls despite being on the bottom of the
rich list, obviously
because of his godly good looks. I also heard from rumours that he
hates the division between the rich and the poor... and also the ranks that people fight
for."

Iliana nodded remembering what Mother now meant about reputation.

"I did not realise it was that
bad... I must agree though, ranking people for their
wealth is ludicrous."

"Hmm... so you are with Kazuki on that matter?" Chloe teased raising an eyebrow.

Iliana threw her a look.

"That does not
make me like the guy, he disgusts me more than those three dweebs
from earlier... and anyway, why on earth did those guys even think to pick on you like
that?"

Chloe gulped hard, her eyes lowered to the sand.

"I... I do not know." She answered then changed the subject quickly. "A-anyway...
I must make my way home. I am guessing you will be attending St. Anthony Preston’s
Academy tomorrow?"

"Huh!... Oh yes, I am. How did you know?"

"The D’coye’s have sure made a big reputation here in Primrose Bay. I would be
surprised if you were not
attending that school. So I will be seeing you tomorrow then."
Chloe responded cheerfully.

"Of course... I cannot wait." Iliana said beaming back at her.

Chloe waved at Yuki who barked excitedly at her. Iliana watched Chloe as she walked
away, her dark auburn shoulder length hair bouncing behind her. Yuki sat close to Iliana’s
side, her fur dripping wet. Iliana bent down to Yuki’s level but her eyes hovered to the
direction of the yacht harbour.

"Why is it Yuki... I feel as if I have met that arrogant and annoying Kazuki Jacob
Williams before... yet I do not know where from?"
She whispered.

Yuki tilted her head to one side looking at her ignorantly as Iliana stroked her back, Iliana
chuckled.

‘Have I told you that I have missed you so?’
She muttered kissing the top of
Yuki’s head before gazing over the calm sea water which sparkled under the warm sun.

The next morning Iliana ran down the polished wooden stairs whilst trying to put
on her navy blazer. She skidded into the long and spacious lounge that looked so modern,
clean and tidy, just like a showroom for an expensive suite. The lounge connected to the
large open spaced conservatory where the sun from outside flooded in. A long wooden
table stood in the middle half covered with breakfast food which could have fed the
whole street. Iliana launched herself to the pile of Nutella toast that disappeared into her
mouth so quickly, she forgot she had one and took another two more to chomp down.
Mother entered the conservatory wearing a slim fit two piece black suit and about a four
inch heel stilettos with a strap that wrapped round her small ankles.

"Iliana... I told you to get up early. You should have left five minutes ago... The
school office needs to see you before lessons starts. Go... Andrew will be driving you."
She delegated.

"But I wanted to..." Iliana started to whine thinking of walking to school as it was
such a nice day.

Mother put both her hands on her hips.

"No... you will be chauffeured especially this morning. I do not want you to get
lost and be late for your first day at school here."

"I know where the school is Mother... Father showed me where it was last time I
was here."

"I said no."

Iliana glared at her Mother but before she could say something else Father came out from
the kitchen into the conservatory, dressed smartly in a black suit without a tie. He looked
from Iliana to Mother and shuddered at the awkward silence.

"Good morning ladies... a nice day is it not?" He said as cheerfully as he could.

Iliana tutted under her breath before saying ‘goodbye’ to Father and to Yuki who trotted
in from the kitchen as she stomped out. Father turned to Mother.

"I hope you were not too much on her Jane."

"Of course not... I am trying to set her in a good prospective to the other students,
especially on her first day of school. It is important Leslie." Mother responded with pride.

"Just let her be a normal teenager and not mould her into something you want her to
be. We have not even had her for a day. Give her some space."

"She has had space from us for the past two years. It is time we acted as a family...
a family with pride and prestigiousness."

The black Jaguar parked in front of the school gates, Andrew got out the car to
open Iliana’s door. She stepped out looking fine and smart in her navy blue blazer which
revealed the same coloured bow that was clipped under the collar of her white shirt. The
pleated blue tartan mini skirt fell just above her knees and the pure white socks came up
from her black shiny school shoes to below her knees.

Iliana could see the red bricked school that stood in the middle of it’s own large
grounds through the black and gold tipped gates. The building was enormous with about
five floors and lots of white multi panelled windows. A humongous Roman numeral clock
reading eight-twenty-three hung at the centre of the main building. Students flooded
through the open gates which was guarded by two well built men in black suits.

"I will be waiting here for you at three this afternoon, my lady." Andrew reported
closing the door after Iliana.

Iliana shuddered at what he said.

"Please do not call me that... just call me Iliana."

"As you wish my la... umm... Iliana." Andrew said awkwardly, his tanned face
turning pink.

Iliana smiled as Andrew got back into the car and drove away. The space was then quickly
taken by another black swish car. Iliana made her way through the open gates and into the
school grounds. She felt everyone’s eyes on her and heard them whispering to one another
under their breaths. As Iliana held her head up high she noticed a familiar female figure
standing near a forested area under a large tree all alone. The light breeze brushed through
her dark auburn shoulder length hair but with her head faced down. Wanting to surprise
her Iliana crept up behind then jumped in front of her.

"Good morning Chloe!" Iliana said cheerfully expecting her to jump and then
laugh.

But Chloe did not. She kept her head down with her side parted hair covering her face.

"Chloe..." Iliana whispered thinking she had got the wrong person.

Then Iliana gasped loudly and stepped back in shock when the girl lifted her head up
slowly. It was Chloe but not the Chloe Iliana remembered from yesterday. Instead of
peachy soft skin, it was pale and dry looking. Her eyes were not the warm green colour but
dark and dull with circles under them. Without thinking Iliana raised a hand to stroke
Chloe’s cheeks who just stood there completely dazed and vacant but growling under her
breath, like Yuki does when she does not like somebody. As soon as their skin touched
Iliana felt a prickly burning sensation making Chloe hiss and turn away. Iliana looked
down at her hand expecting to see a mark or a burn, but there was nothing.

Looking up at Chloe who turned her back, Iliana called out to her.

"C-Chloe!"

Chloe spun round flicking her hair aside, her eyes glistening and her skin flustered.

"Iliana!... You startled me... Where did you appear from so suddenly?" She said
happily and bubbly.

"Ar-are you okay?" Iliana asked frowning and glaring at her cautiously, wondering
whether she might turn strange again.

"Err... I am fine." Chloe answered staring back at her as confused as Iliana was.
"Are you okay?"

Iliana laughed falsely and stroked her hair as an act of awkwardness.

"Oh... I am okay, just umm... still not quite fully awake yet. I am so not a morning
person."

"Okay then... well, I suppose I had better show you where the school office is so
you can get your locker key. Come on... follow me." Chloe said skipping ahead.

As Iliana followed Chloe towards the school building she noticed Kazuki standing
on the pathway with girls fluttering and flirting around him. Iliana who hated
to admit it
was not surprised. He looked dashing in his school uniform with his blazer open, showing
off his pure white shirt and navy tie. He had one hand inside his navy trouser pocket and
the other holding his mobile against his ear, completely ignoring the girls around him. His
eyes was fixed on Chloe, but when his eyes met Iliana’s he quickly looked away.
