Shem and Japheth had already broken into a full run
toward their father’s tent when they heard Ham’s words, both paused but neither responded as they turned to enter the tent. Their mother, sitting on the floor covered in blood, was no longer screaming but staring at the small lifeless infant cradled in her arms. Turning pale, Shem shouted to his younger brother, “Ham, go for our wives. They are needed, and bring water!”

Japheth searched for blankets as Shem knelt and attempted to pry his mother’s fingers from the motionless body of the stillborn child
. She would not relinquish possession of her infant. In hushed tones, she hummed as she began to rock back and forth, tenderly rubbing the head of the unresponsive baby.

Managing to coax Naamah
in relinquishing her hold on her unfulfilled dream, Shem had just finished wrapping the infant in a soft woolen blanket when his wife and the others arrived. Quickly assessing the situation, the women began quietly performing the necessary tasks to service Naamah’s needs.

By
the time Ham entered the tent with water, Naamah had somewhat gathered her senses and managed to whisper, “He said from my baby son, no seed would come, and Ham he said of your seed, blood would be mixed.” With tears streaming down her face she pleaded repetitively, “What did he mean? What did he mean?”

Unable to restrain
his tears, Ham allowed them to spill over and flow down his cheeks. Closing his eyes tightly, he bit his bottom lip and muttered, “I don’t know exactly Mother, but he promised not to harm you or Father. I didn’t think to make him promise not to harm the child.”

Recalling the words of Ham as they had left the campfire, Shem grabbed a blanket and held it up. Indicating
to Japheth, he should take the other end. The brothers put the blanket across their shoulders and walked backward into their father’s temporary chamber. Covering him and afterwards making sure he was unharmed, Noah’s sons awoke him. Noah immediately knew his birthright was missing. The garments of the Melek no longer covered him, but when informed his baby, a son, had been born prematurely, he quickly forgot everything the lambskins.

Most of the details became pain
fully apparent as each son told their version of the night’s events. Ham never admitted to Noah the truth of what had transpired. He intentionally omitted the pertinent fact he was now the possessor of the lambskin garments, and that they were safe in his tent.

What Ham did say, however, was an angel had entered the camp and asked to be ushered into Noah’s tent
. He had complied with the angel’s wishes. Ham purposefully fostered the assumption that a sleeping Naamah, weeks from giving birth, had awakened to an angel standing over her, and the shock caused pre-mature labor.

After gathering all the information and examining the events, it was the angel’s message that perplexed Noah the most. Why would the angel take the
lambskins and the life of his infant son and leave a message that Ham’s seed would have mixed blood? Surmising the angel could not have been a holy one, but instead a fallen angel. Noah realized another great deception had transpired. He reasoned that somehow Ham had allowed this deception since he was the only son cursed by the angel. If Ham allowed the deception rightfully, he should be the only one to pay the penalty.

T
o Noah’s mind the right to rule Earth, the right of priesthood had been damaged when the garments were taken. Even more his personal honor was compromised and yet Noah wasn’t sure what the penalty should be. The pain over the loss of his young son was acute and the loss of the animal skins only heightened distraught emotions.

I
n great despair, Noah prayed as he prepared the blood sacrifices. The only answer he received; ‘many disembodied spirits now roam Earth; you must forgive your son and wait for the Promise Seed.’

Calling for his sons and grand
sons to join him at the family altar, and then to sit before him; he began to speak, “After we have offered up the sacrifice to commemorate the anniversary of the flood, we will return to our homes. No longer able to convey the blessing of El Elyon to my sons by the giving of the sacrificial garments, I shall only be able to act as priest by offering the sacrifices, and decreeing a father’s blessing with my words.

“Shem, you and Japheth covered me, so you and your sons, will continue to be blessed. You have called on Yahweh as El Elyon, but now you will call him, as Elohiym. He will show you who he is in his fullness, and as you understand him as the Elohiym, he will be your covering because you covered me. When you make Elohiym the focus of your worship, he will be whatever you need him to be. He will cause you to receive the blessing of my house. Yahweh as Elohiym is sufficient in all things
, take his Spirit into your dwelling and remember the covenant of the rainbow.

“Japheth, as my firstborn you are blessed, and you will receive the firstborn’s portions. Your sons will have extensive territory. You will be the possessors of great territory
. You will also know Yahweh as Elohiym. However, your descendants will know him as Elohiym only through the altars built by Shem. Do not wander far from the spiritual dwelling places of your brother. Abide in this truth, and honor will come to you as you honor the sanctuaries built by Shem. Elohiym shall be your God if you sincerely look to him, he will bless you.

“Ham, I will not bless you, and neither will I curse you
. You were on the ark and were blessed by El Elyon when we disembarked. Nevertheless, because you did not stop darkness from encroaching my tent, and because I lost my fourth son, your fourth son, Canaan will be the carrier of the darkness that hides in your dwelling. You disgraced my house and allowed for the uncovering of our family, now your house will carry this disgrace through Canaan and his offspring.

“Canaan, blessed is the Lord of Shem
. Canaan, if you serve Yahweh, you shall be blessed. Learn humility and always seek the truth of this message, if you bow your knee before the altars of Elohiym, the curse of deception that comes to you through your father shall cease to be in your dwelling. Truth and deception stand at your door. Open the door to truth and in doing drive deception far from your dwellings. Canaan, you will not find honor as a son in the house of your father, but if you bow as a servant before the Most High, it is possible for you to reverse the dishonor of our family and for you to possess Yahweh’s glory. First, bow your knee and humble yourself, pray for the houses of your brothers’, and attend the house of Shem with a servant’s heart and when you worship Yahweh as Elohiym at the altars within Shem’s house, shame is removed.”

Noah returned to his mountain home
. He lived for another three hundred and fifty years, but he never had another son.

Ham, in anger, moved far away. He was
determined to put as much distance as possible between himself and his father.

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all Gods house. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses has, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. Every house is built by someone but God is the builder of everything. Moses was faith
ful as a servant in all Gods house, bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over Gods house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. Hebrews 3:1-6, NIV

C
hecking the rearview mirror for verification Emeleigh announced, “I think we’re safe, I don’t see him behind us.”

God allowed them to block my seer abilities.” When she did not respond, Elijah jerked a thumb over his shoulder. “That guy…the Nephilim, what do you think he wanted?”

Em
eleigh shrugged her shoulders, “Not sure exactly.”

“Well…okay let me rephrase, what do you...think he wanted?”

Arching an eyebrow at his sarcasm she asked, “Remember last fall when Justin was shot and then kidnapped?”

“That’s rhetorical, right?”

Frowning she stuck a finger in his face, “Yeah, but a nod will do. The army dudes confronted us when we got off the elevator, as we were making our escape, remember?”

“Yes,” his voice showing frustration, “and your point is?”

“That guy back there, he’s connected to them some-how. I’m not saying he is one of the army dudes. What I’m saying, I got the feeling he is a worker bee from the hive…and he has the assignment to lure us to the honey, so we will be trapped.”

That’s a strange metaphor but I guess it makes sense in an Eme-sort-of way, but really…how?”

“They are looking for us...because of last fall
. I don’t know the reason exactly, but from what I picked up, I think we know something they want to know.”

“And you know this because you read his thoughts?”

“Yes, I said that already. I could hear his thoughts!”

“Okay, exactly what was he thinking?”

“Jiminy Elijah! There were two of them back there, the one we saw, and another somewhere near. They were communicating with each other. The one you say was blonde-haired, wanted the other one to get a car. Clearly, the intent was to follow us and I suppose the angel I saw somehow stopped them from being able to continue their pursuit because I don’t see them anywhere. Anyway, the one I saw said you and I were two of the ones they are looking for and then he said something about the tunnel. I couldn’t understand everything. He was thinking more in pictures than in words. Well, obviously they are telepathic and obviously, we’re in some kind of danger because of what happened last fall.

Elijah, I don’t know what they are so fired up about, I mean what on earth do we know that could be so gosh darn important. Do you think it’s because we know the location of their nest? Well that doesn’t make sense either…look I don’t know exactly how to explain any of this. But that guy was afraid to fail to capture us. I was reading emotions as much as cognitive thoughts…does that make sense?”

Elijah snorted, “You’re asking me? Of course, I understand. I’ve had that gifting my entire life…to
hear people’s thoughts and to see colors attached to people. Yes, sometimes you don’t see the person; you see what I call the color of a person. But again sometimes you hear their thoughts clearly, almost as if you were listening to your own.”

“Well it was like that but sort of a combination of pictures, color, emotions, and thought
. I know I heard him say, ‘go for the car,’ and ‘they are two of the ones we want,’ but it wasn’t what he said as much as what he wants to do. ” She took her eyes from the road briefly, looked at Elijah, and then continued, “He, and whoever was with him, wants to take us somewhere for questioning. His emotions told me he was frustrated because he didn’t like the body he was in, he wanted it to be different somehow, and the dimension of our space somehow was confusing him. So, I guess he’s new at this.” She waved a hand in the air as she added, “Whatever this is.”

“Then actually they want us for information?”

Her mouth flew open, then shaking her head, she answered, “Elijah I’ve said that already several ways, so yes they want information, and I truly believe they want us because they are either afraid of us or afraid of what we might know.”

“Eme, that makes no sense. You and I aren’t talking to anyone. Jus
tin’s the one writing the book, what information could we possibly have?”

“Elijah, I don’t have a
ny the answers…” She stopped in mid-sentence. “I don’t even have the questions. We need to go home and have a family pow-wow. Praying about this wouldn’t hurt either.”

Removing his cell phone from his shirt pocket,
Elijah offhandedly remarked, “Well maybe the dream I had last night is significant after all.”

Emeleigh averted her eyes from the road again
and sarcastically asked, “Okay, I bite, what about your dream?”

“I was in a house made completely out of wood, but you know how when you’re dreaming you can see something that’s not in the dream?” He paused making sure she was following his reasoning, when
she nodded he continued. “I just knew that in the distance a huge storm was forming even though I couldn’t see it. Suddenly a funnel cloud appeared and headed straight toward the house. The nearer it got, the more fear I felt. I heard screaming and realized there were others behind me watching the same tornado, they started running in all directions looking for protection. That was when I realized the entire front of the house wasn’t wood, but one huge window. I went to the window and as I studied the twister, I was mesmerized, I couldn’t move. The tornado just kept getting closer and closer. The closer it got, the darker the sky turned, and then suddenly a thought entered my mind to call upon the power of the blood of Jesus. I started praying and encouraging the others to do the same and the funnel cloud stopped. It was perfectly still. I mean totally not moving, but it emitted a humming noise as it spun in place. But as we prayed the humming noise lessened, then seemingly from nowhere, a crosswind began to blow. The wind blew the twister away from the house almost at a ninety-degree angle. I woke up.”

“Mmm,” Emeleigh pulled at her seat belt to readjust it. “That’s inter
esting because my devotional assignment this morning was taken from the books of Numbers and Hebrews. I’m sure you know the story of the twelve spies. Numbers 13 and 14 tells of how ten of the twelve spies thought it would be impossible to kill the giants that lived in the Promised Land. And Paul’s commentary in Hebrew 3 explains the people who believed the ten spies had to wait forty years to inherit the Promised Land, because of their unbelief...” Eme paused and gathered her thoughts. “One of the verses in Hebrews 3 said that we, the believers, are God’s house, and if we hold onto our courage, we enter into rest and inherit the promises. The author of my devotional said something to the effect that Moses was a faithful servant in God’s house, and Christ is the faithful Son over God’s house. He went on to say those who Moses led out of Egypt didn’t enter into the Promised Land because they didn’t believe that God would destroy the giants that the twelve spies saw.

“M
aybe your dream means that there’s another battle coming with the Nephilim and we must know the promises so we can rest and have strength to endure.”
