Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place, the one who has clean hands and a pure heart that does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god? They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors that the King of glory may come in. Psalm 24:3-7, NIV

C
arl chuckled at Caleb, as he took the hot tea mug and attempted to turn it around without burning himself.

Whistling
Caleb set the mug on a coaster and shook his fingers, “Wow Carl, you left the fire in it! I’m sure it’s great, but I’ll wait for a few minutes.” Rubbing his hands together to absorb the residual heat, Caleb leaned back against the sofa and smiled at his host. “The heat feels good. I spent the entire day in the library and I swear that place is colder than the Arctic.”

“It’s been awhile since I was
in the basement, but I remember how cold the vault is, who doesn’t?” Carl laughed, “So what took you to the library?”

Arching a dark brown eyebrow, Caleb answered with a question, “How much do you know about the Tower of Babel?”

“Not a lot, your grandfather is the one to ask, not me.” Smiling Carl shook his head and reveled fond memories, “Matter of fact, the Babel Tower was one of his pet projects when we were students, did you know that?”

“No, I didn’t, growing up I always thought Solomon’s
Temple was. But to answer the question about the library, I came across an article written about the similarities and differences of the world’s pyramids. The author made a supposition that most of the world’s pyramids were for the purpose of worship, not for tombs. Of course, having been a student of yours, that wasn’t news, but it made me think.” Caleb picked up the tea and blew on it again, “The only pyramid mentioned in the Bible is the Tower of Babel, and I wondered what its purpose might have been.”

Carl raised a gr
eying eyebrow, “The Bible is clear it was built in order to reach the heavens, don’t you think that was what they were doing?”

Attempting to sip the tea, Caleb nodded, “As you just said, the Bible gives the impression the
builders of the tower were aiming at the heavens.” The tea still too hot to drink, he set the mug down again and elaborated. “But what was the, ‘let’s make a name for ourselves lest we be scattered over the face of the whole Earth,’ about? Building a ziggurat wouldn’t have stopped the people from moving about or scattering. So the more I thought on this, the more I knew something wasn’t adding up. How could the building of a tower give them ‘a name’ or keep them from scattering? The more I thought, the more questions I had.”

“Such as?” Carl asked.

“Well, when I examined the name thing, I had to ask, how do you develop a name by building a tower? And if you really look at the text in Genesis 11, the implication is there that the name thing and the scattering were somehow connected. Consequently, upon examining the text closer, I began to think that verse three and four are one continuous thought. If so, then the building materials had something to do with the purpose of the tower. Were they actually trying to build into the heavens, or were they trying to get into the heavens vis-à-vis the tower? Maybe they had figured a way to tap into the electro-magnetic forces of Earth, and were planning to create portals that would transport them into another dimension.”

Scratching his mustache in contemplation Carl responded
thoughtfully, “I can’t say I’ve ever heard the tower discussed in exactly those terms, do you have any guesses?”

Caleb picked up the mug, and
sipped slowly. “This is good, now that it’s cooled a bit, it’s strong the way I like it.” Smiling he held the mug tightly with both hands and rested his elbows on his thighs as he answered in his typical methodical way. “Technically they weren’t going to access the dimension of heaven from this physical world by building a tower. No rational thinker could reason otherwise. If these people could build a city and a tower. They weren’t cave dwellers. You and I both know these people were more advanced than we are today. But laying aside both the spiritual implications and the pre-conceived ideas of academia. I tried to put myself into that era and ask, what was there about the post-flood civilization that would cause these people to think they could reach the heavens. What would give them a name and keep them from being scattered...”

“Mmm,” Carl interrupted,
“yes I see...” Pulling at his mustache again, he asked, “But what I’m hearing you say, you are leaning toward the tower being a star gate, aren’t you?”

Caleb nodded,
“I think it’s a very strong possibility, and I think once I know what building materials were used I can work forward from there. I’ll go to Pops, but I don’t want to run to him for every question, besides you know me, I got to work this out on my own.”

“Mmm,” Carl’s eyes twinkled, “I know where that trait comes from, and I know for a fact your grandfather was fascinated by the Tower of Babel even before becoming an archeologist. One of the first digs we worked on as students was in Iraq
. We were on a team looking for the Tower of Babel.”

“Really
? That’s something else I didn’t know.” Knitting his brows Caleb voiced his curiosity. “What did ya’ll find?”

“Well, if memory serves me, what we found had more to do with Gilgamesh than about the tower. You know, as I think on it, I don’t think your grandfather believed Gilgamesh and the tower connect, not
as others in our profession have speculated. I’m not certain where he stands on that subject, now. Since I left Biblical Archeology and became more interested in Mesoamerican, we haven’t talked about the subject much. Anyway, to answer your question, we didn’t find anything, that I readily recall. Most of what was unearthed that summer came from a German team that worked a dig near to where we stayed. As I said, the discoveries mainly had to do with Gilgamesh.” Finishing his tea Carl set the mug down. “We were so young and so very inexperienced, but this I do remember. Your grandfather believed the builder of the Tower of Babel was Nimrod, and Nimrod was Enmerkar.”

“That’s very interesting, because the more I read
today; I think he just might be right. I guess my questions aren’t who built the tower but why? Who was the reigning deity when the tower was built, do you remember?” Caleb, having finished his tea began bouncing the empty mug on his knee.

Taking his time, Carl answered slowly, “I would think it would be the Sumerian god, Anu, who was the predominant deity at that time in Mesopotamia. If I remember my
Sumerian mythology, Anu was the principal sky-god. As you know, that particular era is still a mystery in many respects, but we have recovered some meaningful artifacts in the past twenty years, especially during the Iraqi war. From everything I’ve read, the Anunnaki were worshipped during the twentieth century B.C., and that would just about correlate to the era the tower was built.”

Caleb
grinned, “You are right! And I believe the Anunnaki were Nephilim. And I think the god or fallen angel that perhaps fathered them…Anu is the same deity the Canaanites worshipped as Baal. The term Anunnaki means, the princely offspring.”

“Uh-huh,” Carl
pursed his lips and nodded slightly, “and that would jive with the purpose of the tower being a star gate. Interesting stuff Caleb.”

Caleb nodded and replaced his empty mug on the coaster, then rubbed weary eyes, “Yeah, I wondered if they opened the star gate and that was how the Nephilim returned after the flood.”

“Well, again I reiterate, go talk to Ray this is right up his alley.” Carl reached for his mug while keeping his eyes on Caleb who stood and yawned.

“I will,” stretching and yawning again Caleb
batted at the second yawn and replied from behind his hand, “but first I need to look at a couple of things at the library in the morning. I’d like to find out exactly where the ziggurat was built.” Fighting off another yawn, he breathed deeply and exhaled, “I’d like to know if the site outside the ancient city of Babylon, which is most often considered the Tower of Babel, really is the right site. The Etemenanki site is the accepted site, but I’m not sure I can agree. One of the articles I read today suggested the Tower of Babel was at Baalbek. That I totally don’t agree with, but I am not sure…maybe it’s not important to know the exact site, but nonetheless it’s nagging at me. I keep thinking once I know the exact site and trace the type of materials recovered then I’ll know more if what I suspect is true. Anyway, bottom-line I suspect they were trying to open a portal.”

Carl turned out a lamplight, straightened and smiled
. “A star gate, the tower was a star gate, imagine that.”

“Well, that’s what I want to prove, and so far my research is leading me to believe I’m on the right path. However, before I commit to it, I need addi
tional evidence. Also, before I forget, you’ll find this tidbit interesting. I read an article today published in an English new journal. A civilian who was traveling with the U.S. troops when they were stationed in Iraq sometime about 2004 wrote the article. It seems that our army did some excavation while they had temporary stations in and around the ancient ruins of Babylon. According to the article, Nimrod’s remains were found.”

“Yeah, you know I’ve heard that before, can’t recall at the moment who I heard it from through.” Carl frowned, as he said, “How on earth could anybody be certain it was Nimrod?”

“Don’t know but anyhow, my hope is tomorrow I can find something in the more recent archives to base an opinion on about the location of the tower...oh yeah. One more little fact, the phrase, ‘they were seeking to build a name for themselves,’ the word for name according to Strong’s is shem. It uses the lower case, not the proper name like the son of Noah. At any rate, as I searched through several old dictionaries today looking for a definition to something else, I happened to look up the word shem. It’s a very old Hebraic word and it carries the connotation a shem is an instrument of sound. They were trying to achieve a particular sound is my conclusion.

“So just maybe, somehow, the builders of the tower were trying to manipulate the electromagnetic fields of Earth and create portals with sound. Perhaps th
e tower was to be the controlling tower of all of the others; you know a whole system of teleportation portals. Maybe the plan was to make a transportation system through spatial dimensions via sound. And maybe other pyramids and ziggurats around the globe were to be a network of portals. The Tower of Babel the Supreme Command Station was to be the original World Wide Web, who knows?”

Carl laughed, “Whoa!
I wish you luck in proving that! I seriously doubt you’re going to have much success but don’t let my skepticism keep you from blazing on. If any of what you have supposed should be true, I can see how that one tower could keep the people from being scattered. Especially if they were attempting to form a network of star gates. At least they had unity of purpose.”

Caleb smiled, “My thoughts exactly, and the deeper I dig, the more I’m convinced fallen angels were the instigators of the tower. They were up to something, exactly what I don’t know.” Caleb yawned again, “
Hey, thanks for putting me up for the night, but if you will excuse me, I must get some sleep.”

And God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” And he said, “Here am I.” So he said, “I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt.” Genesis 46:2-3a, NKJV

In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence. Job 4:13-16, KJV

I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And on My menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit. Joel 2:28-29

E
meleigh went to her lab after dinner and worked until midnight, between the episode in the parking lot and the tediousness of her research, her neck muscles were taut and painful. Wanting nothing more than a hot bath, she turned out the lights and made her way slowly up the stairs to her room. Knotted muscles aching, she filled the tub and stepped over into the soothing water with the great expectation of relaxing. Pain melting in the heat of the water, she laid her head against the tub wall and closed her eyes. Immediately she was fast asleep.

“Emeleigh Gruen.”

Sitting up she looked around the room. She saw no one.
I must be dreaming
. Yet she knew a Presence was in the room with her, “Where are you? Who are you?” she whispered.

I come at the command of Adonai. You must remember peace is always with you, so don’t be afraid. You have a special mission, an assignment that will take you into your enemy’s territory as a spy. After you probe your enemy’s dominion and understand the past, you will return to your family. I have given you this dream and you will remember this message but not until you are positioned in the territory of your enemy. Now rest, I leave with you an extra measure of peace!

Leaving Emeleigh sleeping in the tub, the messenger walked through the wall to the adjacent room. There for a few seconds he watched as Elijah who was also sleeping turned in his sleep. Again, the messenger chose to deliver his message as a dream.

Elijah’s eyes sprang open with a start. There was something sinister…he
couldn’t finish the thought. His eyes fell upon the strange equipment that crowded the room. His heartbeat increased and so did the panic he felt. He knew he had never been in the room before, yet there was something strangely familiar about it. Taking a deep breath, trying to regain composure, he realized it wasn’t the room that was familiar, but the smell. The stench of sulfur filled the room. It made him sick to his stomach and reminded him of the events of the previous fall. Hearing movement, a chill ran down his spine, but had to know if he was alone. Stammering he whispered, “Who…who is there?”

“I’ll tell you who I am, if you’ll do the same.”

Instantly recognizing his sister’s voice he answered, “Eme, that you?” As he spoke, he tried sitting up but was unable. His hands were in restraints.

“Yes
…Elijah?”

“Yeah, do you have any idea where we are?”

“No. I’m strapped down to something like an operating table, are you all right?”

“Yeah, I’m tied down too. My right hand hurts but other than that I’m fine, you?

“Yes, I’m fine, but like you my right hand hurts. Wait. Shh…someone’s coming. Be still, and pretend to be asleep.”

S
econds later, Elijah strained with every ounce of his will not to respond when he felt his eyelid pulled upward but he wasn’t capable of quashing the scream that gave voice to his terror. He sat up in bed wide-awake.

Although Elijah had not cried out
in his sleep, his heart was pounding like a war drum. Sweat beading on his forehead, he laid back on the bed and began to pray the image of his dream would not imprint onto his brain. He had to repeat aloud, “It’s only a dream,” several times for his heart to return to normal. Turning onto his stomach, he heard a soothing voice carrying the weighty presence of peace command, “Elijah, be at peace.”

“Lord, is that you?” Elijah turned
back over and looked about the room. He saw no one or any displacement of space, but he clearly heard the answer when it came.

“I have been sent to you by Yeshua
. I’m to show you what you will soon experience. You and Emeleigh are to be sent to the enemy’s camp. There you will learn of their schemes. Be at peace and do not fear. It is important for you to not fear or to attempt to protect yourselves. And it’s equally important you do not let what you see disturb the peace of God within you. The Lord will be with you, you know his word. You cannot go anywhere that he does not go with you. You will understand this message when your dream becomes a reality. I leave with you an extra measure of peace.”

T
he messenger stepped through another wall, and again he did not manifest, but his presence was none the least felt the moment he spoke, “Kirsten.”

Pacing the floor of her bedroom, Kirsten froze upon hearing her name.

“Kirsten.”

Spinning, she looked for the one who spoke her name.

“Kirsten, I’m here to help you find peace and to rest.”

Tears trickling down her cheeks, she sat on her bed. “All right, I’m listening,” she whispered.

“Read and study the Gospel of John, chapter two, Holy Spirit will help you as you decode this passage. There’s a hidden message you need to understand. Justin is in your life because the Father willed it, yet the fulfillment of certain events must occur before you or he will be ready for marriage. You must pray that Justin will have a John 2 experience. Adonai will appoint it, if you pray.”

When sure his message was in her heart the messenger made his final call of the evening.

Joshua awoke the instant the messenger stepped into his room. Lifting his head off his pillow, he looked about, and when he neither saw nor sensed the reason for the interruption of sleep, he turned over and started to bury his face into his pillow. Instantly, the pillow became a movie screen, and suddenly he realized he was looking at the far reaches of the universe. He could see the many galaxies revolving and spinning about the cosmos with indescribable beauty. The second he realized what he was viewing, he began to fly with tremendous speed toward the Milky Way, and as he neared the vastness of his home galaxy, he saw Earth in the far distance. And again, the moment he was cognate of where he was and what he was witnessing he was again, hurled through the magnitude of space. This time toward the beautiful blue and white globe called, Earth. Faster than the blink of an eye, he fell from the outer atmosphere of his home planet into something that caused awe to become bewilderment.

Precipitously, tiny balls of light, which had something spinning a
bout their perimeters, began to spin around his head. Unable to understand what he was observing, he stepped closer and saw, to his amazement, what appeared to be bands of sub-atomic particles. The bands had strange symbols written across them. As he looked closer, he realized the symbols resembled the twenty-two letters of the Hebraic alphabet. As the bands began to spin faster, he could see words forming.

For several seconds
, Joshua held captive by astonishment, was perfectly still. Then from somewhere overhead he heard a sound, a swishing hum. He suddenly understood the bands were creating the strange but familiar sound of,
whoosh, whoosh, whoosh
.

“What on Earth?” Joshua asked aloud as he stared at his
pillow.

“Atoms,” came the answer.

“Atoms,” he repeated not even thinking about who answered him.

“Yes, what you are seeing are representations of atoms. The bands you see contain the words of El Elyon the Creator as he spoke creation into exis
tence eons ago. The hum is the vibration of the sub-atomic particles as they form physical reality.”

“Oh my gosh
.” Josh closed his eyes and whispered, “‘He holds all things together by the power of his Word!’”

“Right, and where there is a breach in his creation, he
has given the believer the power to speak life and repair the breach through your words matching his sound. If your words are his words, then no word will return to him void but will accomplish that which he sent it to do. El Elyon’s words in heaven are everlasting. Joshua, you establish them in Earth. You overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. Yeshua said that his words are truth, life, and spirit, so use his words to counter the deception of the enemy. His angels listen for his words in order to perform them. Decree his promises, and it shall be established.”

Joshua turned to look
at who spoke, but he was alone. Speaking to himself he said, “That’s what the whooshing was all about.”
