The comment struck her as if he was taunting her, but she ignored the undertone, sure that she was probably misinterpreting what he said. “I don’t know. It depends on what you are going to do to make me whimper.”

“I’m glad you got your sense of humor back. I felt bad for hurting your feelings.”

The extremely sweet comment made her feel as if she was emotionally melting, and Lana smiled at him. Enar leaned up, giving her a quick kiss and then shifting down her body. He stuck his tongue in her belly button, making her jump, and then chuckled at her reaction. Without removing his mouth from her flesh, he slid over her naked mound and slipped his tongue between her outer lips. The feel of him sucking on her clit was glorious, and the muscles of her pussy convulsed, screaming for attention. Her breathing changed, her mouth open as soft, high-pitched whimpers leaked from her throat. She almost tried to hold them back in light of his comment, but she reminded herself that Enar wasn’t Joe and let them flow unaltered from her throat. His tongue was like a wild creature against her flesh, encircling her swollen clit, licking it, tormenting her as she was filled with a growing desire for him to breach her pussy ring. Her hips rose against his face, and Enar leaned back. He lifted her ankles and Lana thought that he was going to push them closer to her chest. Instead, he crossed them, forcing her to flip over. Grabbing her by the waist, he lifted her ass and then slapped her hard across her cheek. Lana winced away from him, trying to keep the pressure off her knee as she slid forward. The feel of his hand was imprinted on her skin, but in a tingly sort of way, it felt oddly good. His palm connected with the opposite cheek, and then he put it to her back. He pushed her upper body down and grabbed her hips, drawing her into his extremely hard dick. Her body was so wet that even with the unexpected size of his arousal, he slid deeply into her pussy. Lana arched forward, feeling stretched beyond belief as he cracked her ass cheek again. It was but a minor distraction as his other hand slid around to the front of her body. His finger was on her clit, rubbing it, massaging the sensitive flesh as he slowly withdrew from inside her and stroked her with only the tip of his dick.

Lana heard herself whining, crying out, her nerve endings on overload, her clit twitching as her pussy slammed tight. Enar pushed deeply into her, and Lana screamed, the intrusion causing her to implode around him. The pulse of climax was overwhelming, and Lana was fighting not to collapse to her knees as she thrust against him. Her hips were flexing on their own, her body shivering uncontrollably in reaction. Enar pulled her upward, his hands caressing her stomach, her breasts, a low growl emanating from his throat as his liquid heat filled her. He held her tightly, the feel of his throbbing climax fading as her own muscles started to relax. He withdrew, and she spun, kissing him rapidly, her tongue thrusting between his beautiful lips. He drove his fingers into her hair, holding her tightly in the embrace as her palms floating over his arms.

They sank together onto the towel, their bodies temporarily sated. Enar urged her to put her head on his chest, his arm slipping across her back. It seemed that Lana had only to closer her eyes and she was asleep.

They slept by the lake and rose, drinking the last of the cold coffee and going for another swim to wash off the remaining smears of fudge. A comfortable silence had fallen between them, and they walked the path back to Lee’s house.

Lee was sitting at the central breakfast bar in the kitchen, sipping from a steaming cup. He nodded to them in acknowledgment. “Good morning. Did you have a nice swim?”

“Of course we did,” Enar replied. “Oh, and Lana changed my name last night to Enar.”

“Okay.” Lee’s dark brown eyes focused on Lana. “Did you enjoy the fudge?”

Her cheeks instantly blazed with color. “It was delicious. Did you make it?”

“Of course I did.” Lee winked playfully at her. “We both enjoy good fudge.”

Her grin wilted and Lana glared, suspicious, at Enar.

“Damn, you have a dirty mind, woman,” teased Enar. He leaned and whispered in her ear, “Do you also dream of a ménage?”

She turned and walked out the back door into the garden. Lee chuckled. “Is she regretting spending the night with you?”

“I don’t think so. She is just dealing with her own insecurities. She is amazing. I haven’t felt this good in years. I want her, Lee.”

“Do you have her, or are your emotions single sided?”

The smile that slowly filled his cheeks relayed his thoughts. “I think I have her. It bothers her that I am twelve years younger. I’m trying to make her understand that in many ways I am older than her. It has been so long since my life was good. I now have hope that it may happen again. Say one of your mystic Buddhist prayers for me. For us.”

“I can say a prayer, but you are well aware that I’m not actually a Buddhist. Bring her a cup of coffee.” Lee filled two cups and added milk. “It is my special imported cocoa blend.” He handed Enar a cup, and he inhaled the robust aroma, groaning. Enar took the other cup and with a nod of appreciation walked outside.

Lana was sitting on a bench, her head down in her palms. Enar sat next to her, bumping her with his hip. “Taste this, it’s amazing.” When she didn’t accept the cup, he asked, “What’s wrong?”

“He thinks I’m a tramp, and you acknowledged it. I want to go home.”

Enar forced her to look at him with his fingers to her chin and saw the tears in her eyes. “What are you talking about?”

“He says, ‘We both enjoy good fudge,’ and you tell him I have a dirty mind. I’m not into fucking your brother. It was insanity for me to sleep with you. I don’t do things like that.”

“What happened last night was not insanity! It was amazing. I just told Lee that I haven’t felt this good in years. He doesn’t do ‘read between the lines’ comments. He makes fudge once or twice a month and puts it in the freezer because we both love chocolate. I definitely don’t want to share you with him. I want you all to myself. The only judgment he will make toward you is that you make me happy.” He wiped the tears from her cheeks, handing her the cup. “This is imported coffee, and the taste is like ambrosia.”

She took the cup, her expression stony.

“Look, Lana. I know we just met. That doesn’t matter to me. I’m not one of those fickle men who falls head over heels for every woman he meets and then dumps her a week later. I’m a very picky individual who has very good insight into people. If I like a woman, it is the real thing. I haven’t really liked anyone since Sue died. Living with her while she was dying was hell. I don’t believe in the standard treatments for cancer and she wasn’t willing to try anything I suggested. She did what the doctors told her and she suffered from it. She developed diabetes and then had three heart attacks. I tried to tell her that all she was doing with the chemo was destroying her immune system so her body had no way to fight the cancer on its own. She didn’t want to hear it. I watched her wilt away like a fading flower. She went from one hundred and fifty pounds to eighty pounds. I say it was a blessing when she died. In all honesty I was glad, because she wasn’t even alive anymore. She was a living, breathing corpse. You can’t even imagine the hell I went through for the last two years of her life. I want to be happy again. You make me happy! What the hell is so insane about that?”

Lana took a sip of the coffee. “This is really good. I’m just having a problem rationalizing this. It seems too good to be true.”

“I know it does. I also know that only we can make or break the wondrous thing we have found in meeting each other. I want to make it into something amazing. What do you want?”

“I want the same thing. That is why it hurts to think this can’t possibly be real.”

“Until I give you a reason to distrust me, at least give me a chance to prove myself.”

His gaze was imploring and sad, as if he needed her to understand that he was telling her the truth.

She nodded, lowering her eyes. “I’m sorry I accused you.”

“Thank you. Trust takes time. I promise that I will earn yours.” He stood, offering his hand. “I’m sure Lee is whipping up something for breakfast. Are you hungry?”

“What about the conversation that we were having last night at the restaurant?”

He sat back down. “Do we have to discuss it right now? I was going to finish it later. Lana, it is too late for me. I’m already hooked on you. I’m not going to force you into anything.” His hand drifted down her cheek and he urged her into a passionate kiss. She softened in his arms and he leaned back, a serene expression in his eyes. “Let’s go eat.”

They walked back inside. “I’m making potato waffles if you’re interested,” said Lee. “They’ll be ready in ten or fifteen minutes.”

“Perfect,” replied Enar as he pulled a stool into the living room and pushed it under Lana’s ass. She sat, frowning as he disappeared down the hall.

Lana looked around the room, wondering what Enar was planning to do.

Lee laughed. “I haven’t seen him this happy in years. I hope you’re not one of those women who likes to play with men’s heads, Lana. Don’t hurt him!” he said in a tone that sounded gruff and threatening.

The comment surprised her, and she turned to look at the well-muscled, slightly hard-looking black-haired man. The stark contrast between Lee and Enar made it difficult to imagine them as brothers, but they acted like just that. “I don’t play with anyone’s head.”

“Good,” he said, walking around the central block island that separated the kitchen from the living room, and stopping just short of her. “My brother is a complex man. Give him the time to prove how much you mean to him.”

The intensity of his gaze made her shiver. “Now who is being scary? Does it run in the family?”

“No. I’m just protecting him. He has been through hell between our parents and Sue. He is usually a very good judge of character, but anyone can be wrong.” He stared at her, his expression dark and filled with threat.

Enar touched the back of her head, and she jumped, squeaking in surprise. “Lee. What are you telling her?”

“Just clarifying. Right, Lana?”

She didn’t reply, and Lee smiled, walking away. Enar began to brush her hair, starting at the bottom and gently working the knots out as he moved up to her scalp. He handed her the brush and French braided her hair. He walked around to examine her and frowned. Enar took the brush from her, lifting her to her feet and dragging her back outside. “What’s wrong? You look scared and your face is ghostly. What did Lee say to you?”

“It wasn’t what he said but the tone of voice he said it in. I’m trying to convince myself that he was just looking out for you, but he scared the shit out of me.”

“Lee was hit in the throat by a baseball when he was thirteen. It damaged his voice box. As a result of that injury, he often sounds like a mafia lord in a movie. His oddly large build for a Chinese man doesn’t do anything to undermine that image. He is actually a sweet and caring man. If anything, he is gentler than me. He definitely isn’t into the darker side of sex.”

Lana found his explanation a relief and she forced herself to relax. To start off badly with Enar’s brother was not what she intended to do. The two men were obviously close and she made a mental note to try and smooth things over between herself and Lee. “I will never find that out,” she replied in a somewhat teasing tone.

Enar smiled. “No. You won’t.”

“What about Rolf?” she asked as the question popped unbidden into her mind.

“Is this a general question or are you referring to sex?”

“Well, you said that Lee was gentler. That made me wonder about Rolf. He is your twin.”

“Ah. Sorry. He is actually a little harsher than I am.”

“Okay. I never answered your question. I don’t think that I have a fetish for ménage.”

Enar chuckled, stroking her cheek. “I’ll remember that. Let’s go eat and get out of here. Your hair is neat, but I like it better down around your shoulders.”

She felt the perfectly spaced braid. “How did you learn that?”

“My mother liked her hair braided. It gave me something to do as a child. I don’t want to talk about that now.”

The comment made her curious, but she followed him inside. They sat on two stools watching Lee as he finished topping the waffles with butter, berries, and whipped cream. He set a plate before each of them and then made them two cups of coffee before sitting down himself. His eyes were locked on Lana as if he were trying to peer into her soul. Lana returned the gaze for a few moments, and then Enar fed her a chunk of his waffle. The soft, fluffy waffle was perfectly sweetened with berries and cream, the slightly salty potato flavor the perfect finishing accent to the taste. “That is absolutely delicious.”

Lee nodded, a pleased smile on his face. “I love cooking.”

Cutting into her waffle with her fork, she braved the question on her tongue. “Could you teach me how to make these? My waffles are good, but not like this.”

“You know how to cook?”

“I get by. I make a killer lasagna, with a cheesecake chaser.”

“There is no way that your cheesecake is better than mine. What do you put in your lasagna?”

“I start with a layer of homemade, organic, free-range meat sauce. I use gluten-free noodles with one layer of organic spiced ricotta cheese, a second layer with the meat sauce, and a third layer with shredded organic mozzarella. I cover each layer with sauce and bake it slowly, for at least an hour. I like to make it the night before and reheat it the next day. It always tastes better after the flavors have blended. My cheesecake is thick enough to hold a fork, with a slight lemon kick and just sweet enough so you don’t have to stop after the first piece.”

Enar chuckled. “I guess she told you. I think you should have a cook-off and I can be the judge,” he said with a toothy smile.

Lee ignored him. “What kind of spices in the ricotta?”

“Parsley, garlic, sea salt, maybe some fresh ground pepper and or a little dill. It depends on my mood and who I’m making it for. My grandchildren are not big on pepper.”
