Garrett stepped forward, almost knocking Ben out of the way. “Get your hands off her!”

“Garrett, stop!” Dawn grabbed his forearm, forcing him to look down at her. “We were dancing and having fun, that’s all. Why the hell are you acting like this?”

Her new friend looked terrified but, to his credit, he didn’t abandon her and leave her to face the pair of them alone. Garrett respected him for that. They outweighed him by about twenty pounds each, and both towered over him by a couple of inches. “We’ve only just met. This lovely lady and her friends have been dancing with us.”

Garrett grimaced and rubbed his brow, then held his hand out, offering it to the other man. “I’m sorry. I read the signs wrong. I should learn to keep my big mouth shut.”

“No harm done.” The guy accepted his hand shake and took a step closer, placing his other palm over Garrett’s knuckles and leaning in, as if to whisper a confidence. “To be honest, she’s not really my type, if you know what I mean.”

Garrett grinned, nodding to show he understood and moving to turn away, but the other guy didn’t let go. “You, on the other hand…you’re exactly my type.”

This time, Ben was the one to step forward. “If I were you, buddy, I’d quit while you’re ahead.”

The man released Garrett and moved back, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Message received and understood,” he said, turning and walking away without daring to look back.

Dawn crossed her arms and sent both of them a judgmental look. “That was a pretty jerky thing to do to a nice guy.”

“Maybe he deserved it.” Ben’s words held no apology.

“We got a little overprotective, that’s all.” Garrett placed his hand on Ben’s shoulder, trying to remind him to calm down. “As we said, we’ve had a rough day. One of the horses got badly hurt this afternoon and we’ve spent all evening with the vet.”

Dawn’s expression softened. “Oh, that’s awful. Is it okay now?”

Garrett shook his head. “No, but at least she’s not suffering anymore.”

“Oh no! I’m so sorry.” She looked so stricken by the news, Garrett wished he hadn’t told her.

“Just one of those things. It always hits us pretty hard though.”

“I bet.” Dawn closed the gap between them to hug Garrett first and then Ben. Ben locked his arms around her and buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply.

“Mmm, you smell good.”

Dawn’s cheeks glowed as she pulled away. “Thanks. It’s only body lotion.”

“And that dress…wow!”

Garrett let his gaze roam over her again, and now he was close enough to see her properly. The dress pushed her breasts up in a very tempting way, as if barely containing them. All he would need to do to release them was to hook a finger in the gap in her cleavage and tug down gently. His throat went dry at the image of the pink satin caressing the tips of her pert nipples as they sprang free of the dress.

Ben gave him a nudge, as if trying to stop him staring and leaned close to mutter into his ear.

“Calm down, big guy. You look like you’re gonna eat her alive.”

Garrett turned to look him in the eye. “Can you blame me?”

“No, not really.” Ben turned back to Dawn. “You look amazing.”

She pressed her hands to her cheeks, as if trying to cool them down. “Stop, already! You’re making me blush.”

“We want to do more than just make you blush.” Garrett knew this wasn’t the time or the place to say what he needed to, but he couldn’t help letting her know how crazy he was for her, how crazy they both were.

Ben changed the subject, apparently giving up on Garrett’s ability to behave himself. “We planned to spend the entire evening with you, if you’d let us, but everything went crazy earlier. We got here as soon as we could, which is why we’re still in our work clothes.”

“I don’t care how you’re dressed. I’m just glad you’re here.” Dawn eyes got misty, and she looked like she was about to cry. “I–I’d convinced myself you were gonna let me leave without saying good-bye.”

Garrett lost the battle to keep his hands off her and pulled her into his arms. “Darlin’, you’re lucky we’re letting you leave at all.”

“Think she’s gonna turn up?” Ben asked Garrett, half an hour later when they were back in their cabin. They’d left Dawn with directions to their place and a promise from her that she would join them as soon as she could.

“I sure as hell hope so. If she doesn’t, I’m gonna go get her.”

Ben threw Garrett a towel and took one from the rack for himself to dry off after the shower they’d just taken together. He glanced down at Garrett’s erection and felt his own grow larger. They’d agreed not to touch each other before she arrived but keeping his hands off his lover was damn near killing him. Garrett’s body was almost trembling with tension, and Ben knew him well enough to know that it wouldn’t take much to make him lose control.

“You gotta lighten up. If she decides not to come see us, then we have to respect that. I won’t be any happier about it than you but what choice do we have?”

“Think I should shave?” Garrett ignored Ben’s words of warning.

“Of course. I’m going to.”

Ben walked up behind Garrett where he stood at the sink, unable to resist running his hands over the other man’s back. Garrett hissed and leaned on the vanity, closing his eyes, his teeth clenched. “I thought we agreed to wait?”

“We did. Sorry.” Ben pressed a kiss on Garrett’s shoulder. “I better go get dressed while you finish up in here. Don’t be long.”

Ben threw on a shirt and some pants and grimaced as he forced his sensitive cock into his jeans.

Waiting for her was torture on his body and his mind. What was gonna happen once she left in the morning? “Love” seemed like a pretty strong word to describe what he was beginning to feel for Dawn, but Ben had no other word for it. In the few days that had passed since he’d first laid eyes on her, he’d liked her instantly, then he’d wanted her, and finally, he’d missed her. Barely twenty four hours had passed since she’d been in his arms, and it seemed like an eternity.

“It’s all yours,” Garrett said, gesturing over his shoulder to the bathroom as he walked into the living area, a towel slung loosely around his hips.

Ben felt a rush of guilt. He loved Garrett with everything he had, but was that still gonna be enough once Dawn left? For the first time in ten years, Ben realized he had feelings for someone else, too.

He went into the bathroom to shave and came back to find Garrett pacing the floor, looking at the door. Ben went into the kitchen, grabbed a couple of beers, and handed one to Garrett.

“We might as well sit down. Driving yourself crazy isn’t gonna make her turn up any quicker.”

Garrett was a couple of years older and a heck of a lot wiser than him, but he let his emotions rule him. Sometimes handling him wore Ben out. Tonight though, he sympathized, much more than he dared say. He scanned Garrett’s face, noticing the tight set of his jaw and the way his eyes blazed with excitement.

This wasn’t just about sex for Garrett. It meant more. Much more. Of that, Ben was certain.

Garrett was falling for Dawn, too.

Ben waited for the jealousy to strike as it always did when he thought of Garrett being in love with anyone else, but it never came. During the years Mary and Garrett were together, and for a few after her death, it was painful to see how much Garrett loved her. It took Ben a long time to understand that Garrett’s feelings for Mary didn’t diminish his feelings for Ben.

“It’s getting late. She’s not gonna turn up now,” Garrett said, matter of fact, as he sat in the chair opposite Ben and took a pull on his beer to hide his disappointment.

“It’s only ten. The party isn’t due to finish until eleven. She might have to stay until the end.” Ben turned on the TV and flicked through the stations until he found the sports show they always watched.

A gentle tap at the door brought them both to their feet. Ben was nearer, so he got there first and he yanked the door open to find Dawn standing on their porch, looking nervous.

“Come on in,” he said, turning to walk back into the room, nudging Garrett ahead of him and forcing him to give her a little space.

She followed them to the seating area and sat down at the far end of the sofa, as if trying to keep her distance. Ben could see it had taken a lot of courage for her to come.

“Would you like a drink? We got you a bottle of wine. I hope white’s okay?” Garrett went into the kitchen, returning straight away with the bottle and a glass. He poured a drink for her and put it in her hand. Ben noticed she was trembling as she took a sip.

“How did you get away from your friends?” He smiled at her, trying to settle her nerves.

“I left them at the party. Sally and Ruth were still dancing with those guys we met earlier, Julie has disappeared somewhere, I assume with one of the men she’s been leading around by the nose all week, and Jen left at the same time as some of the other guests and has gone home to sleep.”

“So you won’t be missed?” Garrett asked.

Dawn took a gulp of her wine, wiping a drop from her lip as she swallowed. “I guess not.”

“Then there’s no reason you can’t stay all night?”

She shook her head, her gaze fixed on her drink. Garrett moved to join her on the sofa, taking the glass out of her hand and putting it, along with his beer, on the coffee table.

Ben thought about telling him to back off and give her a minute but maybe Garrett was right. They all knew what was going to happen and, if the previous night had been anything to go by, Dawn preferred to have the decision taken out of her hands.

“Did I tell you how beautiful you are yet?”

Garrett brushed his thumb across her cheekbone and down over her jaw as she stared up at him, vulnerability making her blue eyes wide. He reached up behind her head and took the clip out of her hair, thrusting his fingers into her tresses as they fell. Ben watched as her eyelids fluttered shut and her lips parted as she waited for Garrett to kiss her. His mouth closed over hers and Ben saw a tremble race across her flesh as her hands clasped Garrett's head.

The urge to get in the middle of them was a strong one, but Ben couldn’t move. He watched them, almost transfixed by how much it turned him on to see them together. Garrett nibbled his way across Dawn’s jaw, sliding his head under her chin to lick at her neck. His gaze travelled downward, coming to stop on the curve of her breasts, and he hooked a finger inside the front of the bodice on her dress and slowly, slowly, pulled it downward, groaning when he exposed her erect, dark pink nipples. His large hand closed over her breast, and he squeezed, making Dawn moan aloud.

Ben slid from his chair and joined them, unable to stay away any longer.

Chapter Eleven

Dawn felt a touch on her hand and looked down to find Ben on his knees in front of her. He slid his palms up her inner thighs and nudged her legs apart to slide his torso between them. A hand locked around the back of her neck, and he pulled her forward to kiss him. Dawn parted her lips, giving a little sigh of pleasure as his tongue surged into her mouth.

Garrett stood and reached down to yank Ben to his feet by his hair, leaving Dawn sprawled beneath them on the sofa with her dress bunched around her waist under her naked breasts and her legs spread wide. She sat upright, intending to fix her clothing, suddenly self-conscious without the blanket of lust to cover her, but then Garrett kissed Ben, and Dawn forgot all about her dress.

She watched them meet in an almost-violent tangle of limbs. Garrett tugged Ben’s shirt out of his jeans and tore it open, sending buttons flying. Ben let go of Garrett long enough to shrug the shirt off the end of his arms, then grabbed the hem of Garrett’s T-shirt and stripped it from him in one smooth motion. The contrast in their physiques and coloring was stark in the harsh overhead light. Ben was lean and defined while Garrett was broader through the chest and shoulders, but both of them rippled with muscle.

Garrett kept his distance and kicked his boots off, his gaze back on her. He flicked the button open on his jeans and thrust them down his legs, yanking them off over the ends of his feet and tossing them somewhere behind him. He stood upright and faced her, hands hanging loosely at his sides, his body on full display. Dawn felt her throat contract as she got her first proper look at him, and she realized just how magnificent he was. His massive cock was thick, dark, and heavily veined, and it jerked when her gaze landed on it, as if he could feel her stare. Her pussy gave a hard pulse at the memory of how it felt to be fucked by him.

The sound of metal hitting the floorboards dragged her attention away from Garrett, and she turned to find that Ben had shed the rest of his clothing. His body was different, but no less impressive.

His penis had a long, golden shaft, longer than Garrett’s in fact, but not as thick.

The two men kissed again and then turned to her, each of them grabbing a hand to pull her to her feet. Ben stood behind her and slid down the zip on her dress while Garrett dropped to his knees, holding her gaze as he slid his palms up the outside of her thighs to grab her panties so he could tug them off along with her dress. He removed her shoes and sat back on his haunches, letting his gaze crawl over her from her ankles right up to her face.

A gentle pull on Dawn’s shoulder made her turn into Ben’s arms, and she accepted his kiss, gasping into his open mouth as she felt Garrett’s lips blazing a trail up the back of her thigh. A gentle nip on the curve of her butt made her tremble and she heard him groan in response. He got to his feet, trailing his silky hair across the skin of her back as he kissed his way upward. Dawn felt his mouth at her shoulder and then his body moved closer, sandwiching her between him and Ben. His cock nudged the small of her back and she felt a moist heat coat her skin as he ground against her.
