“He had some messages with a number that was talking about how much the purchase was, and what I looked like. He even sent that person a photo of me in just my bra and panties. I have no clue where he could have gotten it.” She stops for a second, almost like she remembers where the photo came from.

“It was one I sent to Striker five years ago,” her eyes shoot to mine, and they widen. “How would he get a photo that I deleted? The only person I ever sent it to was Striker,” her lip trembles, and I want to know the same answer. Was Striker the one who sent it to him? Is he involved somehow?

“Do you have a copy of the messages?” I ask. I watch her shake her head no, and I can’t help but feel like she does.

“Don’t lie to me Sailor. I need the truth, and I will find it out, even if you don’t tell me. I don’t have to protect you, but I am. I’m putting my ass on the line to help you, so the least you can do is be honest with me.”

She scoots back in her chair, and I can see the fear in her eyes. I already told her that I needed the truth in order to help her, and if she isn’t going to give it to me, then I can’t help her.

“You promise you won’t show my brother?” she whispers.

“Darlin’ I can’t promise you anything, but keeping you safe. Take it or leave it. I have other shit to do here, and I would rather get fucking home sooner than later. The choice is yours.”

She looks at the ground for a few minutes, before she looks back up at me. “I took pictures of everything with my phone, but I left it in Butch’s room.”

Getting up, I make my way to the door where I’m sure Striker is still waiting for her like a good little bitch. When I look out the doors, I see him, and motion for him to come over to me. When he reaches me, I tell him what I need him to do. “Go get me her phone from Butch’s room.” He nods, but looks inside before he takes off towards the room. Shutting the door behind me, I make my way back to my seat. Turning to face her, I watch her intently, before I speak again.

“You said Marco is part of the mob.” She nods her head, and I wait for her to give me some more information, but she doesn’t. I know she knows, but she doesn’t seem to want to help me out.

Getting up from the table, I push the chair away from it, and walk towards the door. Before I can get the door open, she jumps up from her chair, and begs me not to go. “Please Raef. I’m scared that they are going to find me and kill me. If I give you any information, then I’m going to be dead. You and I both know that. Please.” I see the tears start to fall down her face again, and as much as I want to say fuck this shit, I turn and look at her one more time.

“Give me a good reason to stay here and help you.”

The tears fall down her face faster this time, and there is a knock on the door. Opening it, I grab the phone out of Strikers hand, and shut the door before he can get a look at Sailor with the tears streaming down her face.

“He will do anything he can to make sure this deal goes through. I don’t know who the guy is, but judging by the messages on Marco’s phone, he plans on hurting me more than Marco ever did. I won’t make it through that. I can’t go through something like that again. I barely made it through it with Marco.” She’s full on crying now, and I get a soft spot for her.

Walking over to her, I pull her small body into mine, and hold her. Sobs wrack her body, and I’m surprised that her body is shaking this hard. She is really scared of this asshole. Running my hand down the back of her head, I try to soothe her the best I can, but I’m not built for this shit. I’m not like my brothers. I can’t stand seeing a bitch cry, especially one as hot as she is.

Every part of me wants to protect her from him, but I can’t help but wonder why her brother isn’t taking care of this shit for her. I know that if Anslie was in this mess, and I knew about it, it wouldn’t be a hard decision. I would make those fuckers lives miserable, and then none of them would live through it to see another day.

When she finally calms down some, I hand her the phone. “Show me the picture. I need the proof.” She pushes a few buttons, and then hands me the phone back. I see the conversation about the price, and where the exchange is going down. Scrolling through a few more pictures, I see the one of her in her bra and panties.

Holy fuck. I look at her, and I can’t believe that she has that fucking banging body under these baggy clothes. “Damn girl,” I say. She blushes, and even though I know this shit is serious, I can’t help but get fucking turned on just by looking at her.

Forcing her into the seat in front of me, I scan over her body once more, before I go back to reading the messages.

Chapter Four

The way his eyes roam over my body makes me nervous. He seems to like what he sees, and that makes me nervous. I’ve never been nervous around a man before, but something about Raef makes me nervous.

I watch him as he reads all of the messages, and when he finishes, he runs his hand through his hair. It’s kind of in a faux hawk looking style, but I can’t think of a name to call it.

“Fuck,” he mutters under his breath. Getting up, I close the distance between us, and try to see what he’s looking at.

“What?” I finally ask, when I don’t see what he clearly sees. He pulls out his phone, and starts to type something out. He mutters some more under his breath, turns to the door, and opens it.

“Striker, Butch. Get the fuck in here now,” he yells. I see my brother practically jump out of his seat at the bar. Striker walks in, and comes directly towards me.

He pulls me into his arms, and I hear Raef hiss under his breath. Strange. Striker puts his forehead against mine, and I close my eyes. Part of me wishes that it was Raef standing here this close with me, but I know that I’m probably just a job to him. He wouldn’t want a messed up girl like me. He can have his choice of the skanky bitches just outside those doors, and I know I could never compare to any of them. Hell, I wouldn’t want to.

When Raef shuts the door, he barks out an order to Striker and Butch, and they comply right away. Striker releases me, and he takes a seat in the chair I was just sitting in. He goes to pull me in his lap, but Raef grabs my arm, and leads me to the other side of the table with him.

Both Butch and Striker give Raef a strange look, but he doesn’t let it faze him. He just continues to read the messages on my phone.

“How the fuck did Marco get a photo of her that she sent only to you Striker?” Raef demands, when he sets my phone down in front of him. Striker’s eyes widen, and he looks almost as shocked as I was when I remembered that I only sent it to him.

“I never sent that photo to anyone,” he says, looking right at me. “Babe, you know I would never do that to you.” He looks sincere, but if he didn’t do it, then who did?

When I go to say something, Raef puts his hand on my thigh. When I look at him, he gives me a look to keep quiet. Looking at the table, I can feel my brother’s eyes on me. When I look up, he looks pissed, and I know he is probably thinking the worst of me right now. Looking back over at Raef, I see him look at Butch, before he looks at me.

“Who had access to your phone?” His voice is angry, and his hand never leaves my thigh. They can’t see it, but I’m sure Striker and Butch are both wondering why he didn’t want me to sit on the same side as them. I’m just as curious too.

“Any one of the guys. But I typically don’t leave my phone out so anyone can fucking see it,” Striker grits out. He’s pissed, and so am I. At least he doesn’t have half naked pictures of him floating around on people’s phones.

“Do you think someone might be a rat?” Raef asks. He watches both of them, and I see the hesitant looks on their faces.

“We can’t be sure. That could be what happened with the meet. Maybe someone tipped them off or something,“ Striker says. “I’ve been doing closer surveillance, but whoever it is, hides it well.”

“You really think someone is going to rat for those bastards?” Butch questions. When I look at Raef, I can see the uncertainty. He must be thinking that someone
is
a rat.

I’ve heard stories about what happens when someone rats out one of the club member’s, but I don’t think it’s ever happened here. These guys are like family. How could they turn on each other?

“I’ll keep an eye out, and we will meet back in a week. She’s staying with me. I need more information from her about this Marco fucker. You’d be surprised what someone would do for the amount of money they throw around in the mob,” Raef says, as he stands.

Both Striker and Butch go to stand, and I can see them getting ready to argue about me staying with them. “She’s staying with –” Raef cuts him off, and judging by the tone of his voice, I wouldn’t argue with him.

“Over my dead body. You couldn’t even keep her out of this mess. There is no way in fucking hell that I’m letting you guys try to get her out of it. Next time, fucking protect your damn sister,” Raef growls.

I see Butch step up to him, and I have a feeling that this isn’t going to go over very well. “What? Like you and your fucking brothers did for your sister?”

Before I can blink, Raef has Butch by the throat, and is pushing him into the wall. “Say one more fucking thing about them, and I won’t hesitate to put you in the ground. I don’t give a fuck who you are.” He pushes on his throat a little harder before he releases him, and Butch slides to the floor coughing and trying to catch his breath.

When Raef turns towards me, I can see a fire in his eyes, and he looks pissed. He walks towards me, and wraps his fingers around the back of my neck, and pulls me closer to him. “Don’t go anywhere. I won’t let your shithead brother try to save you. He couldn’t if he tried.” His eyes flash to a sad look, before he looks back at Butch who is finally starting to stand on his feet.

“You don’t know shit Raef,” Butch huffs out finally. Raef releases his hold on me, and he turns to face him, standing directly in front of me.

“Neither do you. You don’t fucking know me. Just fucking know that I won’t let anything happen to her. I’ll protect her like my fucking blood.”

“You mean you’re just trying to get in her pants,” he sneers.

I gasp, and they don’t even pay any attention to me.

I watch as he gives Butch a grin, before he turns to look at Striker. I see him raise his eyebrows in challenge, but neither of them says anything.

“Don’t fuckin’ worry about my business. Your sister is an adult, and can make her own decisions.” He grabs my hand, and pulls me behind him. We walk out into the clubhouse. As soon as we make our way through the room, I can see the questioning stares. The members have only met me a few times here and there, but I’m sure they don’t know me from any other club whore who hangs around.

Raef pretty much drags me into a room out towards the back of the clubhouse that looks almost like a fortress of some sort. He opens the door, allowing me to walk in before him. Looking around at the room, I can’t figure out why we are in here, other than my brother being right about one thing.

He points to a bed on the far side of the room, and tells me to get comfortable. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I watch him as he moves around the room, like he’s been in here before.

“What are we doing in here?” I finally ask.

He looks over at me and grins, before grabbing his phone and dialing a number, and putting it to his ear. “Hey, I need a favor.”

He’s quiet for a second before he tells the person on the other end what he needs. “I need you to find out all you can on a Marco…” he pauses for a second, and looks at me with a questioning stare. “Cabrera,” I reply quickly.
