Acknowledgments

To Annie Fleck, CL Miller, Lex Huffman and R.J. Shepherd at Interlude Press: You’re the truest rock stars I know, and it all began on a weathered, sun-drenched porch in New York. Who’d have thought?

To Carrie Pack, my soul-sister, for keeping me in check, pushing me to think outside the box and talking me off the proverbial ledge more times than I can count.

To Lissa Reed, for her epic hand-holding abilities, her endless patience in being my Fort First Draft and for truly understanding what I mean when I say, “I’m
such
a writer.”

To Killian B. Brewer, for being a beautiful human and an invaluable resource—he knows why.

To Jennifer Dumin, for helping me make music and for her Philadelphia heart.

To Rachel Sharpe, my Alpha Beta, who was there at this story’s birth and held my hand through much of it.

To Carl Skelton-Baker, my brother from another mother, who also has universes in his head and doesn’t mind helping me explore my own.

To my fellow Interlude authors, my pals and gals on Tumblr, and my friends and readers across the Internets: Thank you for all the handy information, not to mention the endless support and encouragement.

To Mrs Wheeler, my first teacher, who got me reading and always encouraged my creativity.
Dilly the Dinosaur
forever!

Finally, to Diane & Kevin Stagg and Clive & Emma Griggs, for being better parents than I could have even chosen, and for always believing in me more than I believe in myself.

About the Author

Mimsy Hale
lives in Suffolk, England, with her roommate and four cats. Having dropped out of school at the age of seventeen, she’s a long-term office drone with paperback dreams and universes in her head.

Mimsy is a Brit gal with an American heart, and can often be found staring off into space and having conversations with her characters—or finding new ways to slip quotes from really bad movies into everyday conversation.

She came back to writing in 2012 after a long absence, the spark of creativity inside her that she discovered at a young age finally fanned into an all-consuming flame… And she’s been suffering the side effects ever since.

Already a bestselling ghostwriter, she has learned that novels are where her heart truly lies.

100 Days
is her debut novel.

Questions for Discussion

  1. In the book, Jake and Aiden agree to a “no strings” sexual relationship for the duration of their road trip. How does this alter their existing friendship?
  2. How does their approach to traveling change over the course of the road trip?
  3. Both Jake and Aiden face issues with their fathers on this trip. How are their experiences different? How are they
    the same?
  4. How does making peace with the past influence Jake and Aiden’
    s futures?
  5. How do the music and movies Jake and Aiden carry with them on the trip serve
    as touchstones?
  6. Jake and Aiden have different sexual histories and approaches to romantic relationships. How does this affect the progression of
    their relationship?
  7. Jake and Aiden’s friendship is partly built around a mutual love of filmmaking and common goals they set for themselves as teenagers. How do their goals change, and how does this influence
    their story?
  8. The supporting characters seem to recognize Jake and Aiden’s true feelings for each other before they do. Why does it take the boys so long to wake up to how
    they feel?
  9. How would the story have change had they veered off course, or ended the
    trip early?
