My first Christmas gift, I thought. He tasted like coffee which let’s face it, was borderline crack to an addict such as myself. It made for a lovely surprise as he was usually a tea drinker.

“I missed having you next to me when I woke up,” Wade said between kisses. “Didn’t like you not being there.”

I stared into his eyes, wondering what it was about Wade’s possessive nature that turned me on while the same behavior from the other men in my past had elicited the exact opposite reaction. Apparently it had more to do with the man than the bad behavior.

I ran my hand over his package and wiggled my eyebrows at him. “If that puppy shot espresso instead of semen we’d both be the happiest men in the entire universe.”

He laughed, glancing down at my hand before shoving his face into the nape of my neck, breathing me in. “It smells like sex and cookies in here.”

I glanced around the kitchen at the ten dozen sugar cookies stacked along the counters covered in plastic wrap. Dixie had spent the prior afternoon and evening holding culinary court in the kitchen as she baked her little Texan heart away. I smiled, amazed by his stamina, feeling his hand sliding over my ass. I hooked a finger into the waist band of his sweats, allowing my hand to dangle there, exposing an extra hint of the skin on his hip.

The instant Wade began sucking on my neck, tingles spread across my skin and I knew where one-track Horny McGee was headed.

“My parents are gonna be here any minute,” I said, placing my other hand on his chest. “Gotta finish icing all these cookies before this afternoon.” I moaned my approval as he gently nibbled away. “Aren’t you hung over at all?”

Wade laughed under his breath, stopping long enough to look at me. “I am a little, but seeing you in those thermals gets me going.”

“A slight breeze’ll do that these days, buddy.” I said, as his fingers began tugging at the elastic on my waist band.

“It’s all on you, babe,” Wade said, that teasing half smile forming. “You’re irresistible.”

He was totally playing to my vanity and it was working like a charm. Considering he was now sporting a big toothy grin I was fairly certain he was well aware of that fact. It was a short lived victory though, his amusement fading the instant we heard Lonny’s voice coming from behind us.

“Kinda early for a floor show isn’t it?” Lonny asked, sighing. “No matter, don’t stop on my account. I’ll go grab some lube and pleasure myself as I watch from over here.”

All signs of Wade’s playful nature had now vanished completely. I winked at him and gave him a soft peck. His irritation dissipated slightly and I stared him down until he acquiesced, returning the favor with another quick kiss.

“It’s a good thing I love you,” Wade said.

“It is,” I agreed. “Otherwise I’d still be out there—” I flung my arm recklessly through the air, “—aimlessly wandering the land in search of a Daddy with a big, hard—”

I yelped, jumping slightly from the rough pinch he’d just given my ass. Wade smiled evilly, picking up his coffee cup and taking a drink.

“I wouldn’t say no to cup a Joe,” Lonny said.

“You wouldn’t say no to just about anything,” I muttered under my breath breaking away from Wade to retrieve a cup of coffee for Lonny.

“I forgot how cranky you get from coitus interruptus,” Lonny said. “I can’t tell you how many times I’d accidently stumble into to a room to find—”

“Please cease and desist.” Wade cut him off, a scowl taking over his face. “I’d very much like this topic of conversation to end right there.”

I laughed, carefully passing Lonny a full mug. “He still likes to pretend I was virgin when we met.”

“I don’t enjoy thinking about
the others
,” Wade held out his cup so I could top it off.

“No more LOST DVD marathon’s for you, pal.” I shook my finger at him.

Wade was wistfully staring off into space and I somehow knew he was imagining a world where all of my ex-boyfriends were left stranded on a deserted island.

“He wouldn’t have half the tricks in his repertoire without all that practice, studly,” Lonny said.

“Gah!” Wade yelled, flinging a hand through the air as if trying to deflect the words away.

“Listen here, Gold-medal Man.” Lonny said. “You of all people should understand that repetition is key.”

Wade pointed at Lonny. “Make him stop it.”

I was holding onto my tummy laughing, thinking Wade was never more adorable, having reverted back to these child-like antics. I glanced over at Lonny. “Leave him be.”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Lonny sniped.

“Mark my words,” Wade said under his breath. “They stay at the lodge next time, damn it.”

I reached across the island and playfully slapped Lonny upside the head. “Don’t fuck with the man’s fantasies.”

The club music shut down putting a halt to the buzzing beehive-like vibrations of the floor under our feet.

“Sounds like the nice one will be joining us shortly,” I said.

“There’s a nice one?” Wade asked, grinning at Lonny who snarled up his lip in reply to the snark.

“When compared to the spawn of Satan here, yes.” I added.

“I hate that word,” Donny said, shivering slightly as he entered the room heading for the bar stool next to his brother.

The twins were much like a cartoon character who’s glossy and sweet, over manipulated appearance drew you in, never suspecting anything might be wrong until their mouths opened revealing a slutty underbelly.

“Things shouldn’t
spawn
. It sounds unseemly,” Donny added.

“Don’t be such a puss-n-boots,” Lonny said.

“I like his boots, very snazzy, indeed,” I said, eyeing them. “I’m concocting an elaborate ruse as we speak, enabling me to run away to Argentina with them later today.”

Our attention was quickly diverted from Donny’s footwear as the front door burst open and my parents came rushing in, or my mother to be exact—dragging Rocky along as he held onto the Dixie-train for dear life.

My mother was fully painted for war, her make-up perfectly applied, despite having more of it on than any one individual ever should, her dark brown hair piled up on top of her head, teased into a poofy bouffant.

“What are y’all doin’ sitting around half dressed?” she asked, as if we’d all lost our minds. “We’ve got dozens of cookies to get iced. Hop to!”

“Geez-uz woman,” Rocky said, huffing away like she’d forced him to climb the mountain on foot…while carrying her. He was still sporting that same Rick Springfield style hair cut that he’d had since the mid eighties. All the stress of the holidays had never suited him well, conflicting with his free-spirited, laissez-faire nature. “Settle yourself down ‘fore you give yourself an aneurysm.”

Before Wade or I had so much as an instant to respond she’d descended upon us, slapping us both on the ass. “Get up those stairs and for the love of God take a shower. You two smell like a sweaty, dried up come rag that’s been left lyin’ on the floor for a week.”

The twins both burst out laughing

Wade’s entire upper body turned blood red and he laughed, but a little uncomfortably. “Your parents know entirely too much.”

I winked at Wade and turned, opening my arms to my mother. “Come on mumsey, Monkey wants a hug!”

“Boone Daniels, don’t you come anywhere near me, you stink to high heaven!” Dixie squealed.

I continued to advance on her and she turned, beginning to run in the opposite direction.

“I will slap you into next week just to ask you about the weather…so help me, Boone!” Dixie warned, pointing back at me with a long painted red nail.

“Need…mommy love!” I hissed doing my very best Gollum impersonation. “Squeeze the mommy!”

Rocky was now bent over with his hands on his knees, laughing his ass off as Dixie let out a panicked, blood curdling scream just before I took hold of her.

Wade wrapped one of his thick arms around my waist and began pulling me away from her.

“Love the mommy!” I added, arms flailing as Wade dragged me toward the open staircase off the living room.

“Oh, and stop using that creepy voice,” Dixie said, her fears subsiding now that Wade had a solid hold on me. She shook her head at Rocky. “Quit that laughing. It’s your fault that boy has no class whatsoever.”

I was thinking they were each equally guilty for that as I winked at my dad. Wade bent down and tossed me over his shoulder.

“So butch, isn’t he?” I asked, as he easily lifted me up off my feet.

“You could do me a favor and have a few less bags of chips every week,” Wade quipped.

The twins were snickering as Wade began climbing the stairs.

“Shit head,” I mumbled at him. “I don’t recall you complaining any other time about my size.”

“Difficult to lodge a complaint when you have your dick shoved down my throat,” Wade whispered, obviously not wanting my parents to overhear that particular comment.

“We’re gonna go butt fuck each other now!” I yelled at the top of my lungs, waving like a newly crowned Ms. Teen Queen as I hung upside down dangling from Wade’s wide shoulder.

“We are not!” Wade said, slapping me on the ass.

“There’s no time for that,” Dixie said, not the least bit phased.

“Spank me, Daddy!” I said, after yelping from the pinch he gave me. “I’m calling the abuse hotline, you rat bastard.”

“Ha!” Wade spat out, obviously unimpressed. “Serves you right…incessant trouble maker.”

“Such a hypocrite.” I sighed. “You don’t mind doing it, just talking about it in public.”

“Don’t you let him take a bath either, Wade Walker, you hear me?” Dixie yelled at the top of her lungs. “We’ll never get him back out!”

“Yes ma’am,” Wade shouted back as he cleared the last step up into the loft bedroom.

“You people are no fun at all,” I said.

“Don’t pout, baby,” Wade said, carting me into the bathroom. “I’ll service you in the shower if you like.”

“Sweet! Daddy’s gonna feed me some meat.” I sighed, my eyes widening as his fingers yanked my thermal undies down, exposing my ass to the cool air in the room.

I could see him smiling though our reflection as we passed the large mirror. “I’ll stuff you good-n-full, till you can’t take anymore.”

“It’s a Christmas miracle,” I said using my best, truly horrible British accent. “God bless us one and all!”

CHAPTER TWO

I stood at the foot of the stairs, my asshole burning in a no-need-for-penicillin sorta way. We were due at Uncle Pete’s restaurant in less than two hours for the huge family dinner ordeal. Wade’s family had always done Christmas on the Eve since Pete worked nights because of that whole restaurant thing. It was different, but anything that meant being able to sleep in Christmas morning was all right in my book.

I walked over and stood next to the sofa table listening to my mother who was instructing Donny he was using too much of the green icing. I smiled, figuring Donny thought the sooner he ran out the sooner he’d be finished helping. I was certain it hadn’t occurred to him Dixie would just make more green icing.

I glanced around the living room. The knotty pine walls and massive stacked stone fireplace stretched from the floor all the way up the two-story wall before disappearing into the ceiling. It gave the room weight despite the high ceilings. The brown leather furniture and dark mission style tables made the room feel lived in and homey. My furniture which was more shabby-chic and rustic had managed to blend well with Wade’s which leaned more toward comfort than style. I came with more knick-knacks than Wade had been used to, but the combined result was the space had begun to feel like ours, not just his.

With all of my added friends and family making the trek to Summit City for my first holiday in a strange new land, it had been decided that it would be easier for us to have dinner at the restaurant. I think Del was secretly relieved at the thought of not having her house destroyed with all the extended strain created by having an extra six to eight people in it.

They’d hosted the Mayor and his wife, Cecelia over the last few years in addition to their own crew. It was just like Del to take people in that way. It was one thing she had in common with Dixie.

Chip’s brother and parents were joining us, their invitation issued once Gabe asked if he could bring Chip as his date. Other than that, Sarah and her Adams family beau along with Jackie and family would round out what had turned into the now massive family dinner.

I was glad all my friends and parents had made the trip up for my first holiday in the Summit, but I also worried things might feel too different. With the holidays mostly being about traditions and all, how would the new ones created due to my new life with Wade, stack up against all the warm and fuzzy ones from my past? On top of that, were whatever memories we’d already made or were about to make, dictate all future plans and expectations where Christmas was concerned?

That is a lot of friggin pressure!

Deciding to change the channel in my brain since what was currently playing was freaking my shit out, I strolled over to the front window and peered outside. The snow had let up from this morning, but the clouds still blocked any chances that sunlight might break through.
