“I…I have to go!” Clarissa gasped, at a complete loss for words.  Was there any way to redeem herself after acting so bizarrely?  How could she possibly explain what she had done without sounding like a nutcase? 

She couldn’t.  There was nothing she could say.

So instead she hopped into her car and drove away as fast as she could.  She decided to rush home to the comfort of chocolate chip cookies and her comfiest sweatpants.  There, the cat was the only one who judged her…and at least then the judgment only took the form of silent, unnerving stares.

As Clarissa headed for home, she couldn’t help but smile to herself. 

The bad news was that her magic hadn’t worked, so she’d embarrassed herself in front of Parker.

The good news, though?

The good news was that he had kissed her back!
