The last thing Charlotte ever expected from the intruder was to be brought close to blushing, but there she was, traces of red clearly visible even beneath her still made-up cheeks.

“I’ve admired your personality for a good while, detective. But it wasn’t until tonight that I’ve had the chance to come face-to-face with the unmatched beauty that you are capable of displaying That is why I have decided to come to you, my fascination, and invite you to leave town with me. Let us start a new life, Charlotte. Let us transform our obsession for each other into what it should have been all along.”

This is getting more and more insane by the second,
Charlotte thought, completely baffled by this development. Ever since the stress of police work made her gain weight, the number of people who showed any romantic interest in her could be counted on one hand, and that was including the late Mr. Schaffer. Also, this intruder looked like a god of beauty made flesh…

No.
She prevented herself from even considering this. Cinder is a killer, most certainly deranged too. The fire breathing trick was staged. It had to be.
But he has my gun and can possibly breathe fire. What do I do?

“Still not convinced, eh?” Cinder interrupted her inner monologue. Then just as the policewoman was about to reply, the intruder placed a hand on her pistol and rocked his shoulder forward, letting the weapon slide toward Charlotte’s part of the room.

Noticing her chance to get out of the situation, the detective’s nude body moved forward with an almost animalistic speed, propelled forward by sheer survival instinct. Grabbing the gun just as it was about to slide off the table and onto the floor, Charlotte braced herself with her left arm, rising up as quickly as she could. The part of her that was trained for these situations expected Cinder to right in her face after that, but surprisingly, he was still in his seat, appearing more amused than ever.

“That was beautiful, detective,” the man commented, clapping his hands.

“Drop to the floor, murderer!” the policewoman responded, secretly wishing she’d said something crueler. After what he said though, she couldn’t help but feel sorry, whether the man was right or not.

“Murderer? Murder requires forethought. What I did was pure self-defense. I even put effort into avoiding future encounters with my attackers. I thought you people learned your terminology in school.”

Is he trying to anger me?
Charlotte aimed her pistol right at the center of Cinder’s forehead.

Suddenly, the intruder rose. Baffled, Charlotte noticed something the table had prevented her until now: he was visibly aroused. However, that seemed to be the least of her problem, as the man didn’t intend on staying where he was, but swiftly began walking toward the policewoman. Barely preventing herself from pulling the trigger, the detective kept hoping for him to stop.

“Freeze!” was all Charlotte managed to say before Cinder’s eyes, previously a pair of intensely green ones, started turning a shade of gold, on an increasingly inhuman face. Her fear and instincts getting the better of her, the detective squeezed automatically, landing a perfect hit right above the man’s nose.

You insane bastard,
Charlotte allowed herself to think again, her automatic pilot turned off.
I wish I didn’t have to do that.

The detective’s regret, however, quickly turned into terror, as the intruder who still stood before her showed no signs of any injury other than a flattened and disintegrating piece of lead stuck to his forehead. With a fluent motion, the man peeled what was left of the bullet from his forehead, letting it drop immediately after. What did not drop, however, was Cinder’s erection, which seemed to have gotten even firmer.

“Splendid, Charlotte,” the intruder spoke again, this time with a voice of someone who struggled to kept his lust in check. “Now, however, it’s my turn to shoot into you.”

In complete shock, yet strangely aroused, the detective did not even try escape the man’s grasp as he grabbed hold of her sizeable waist, slowly and gently lowering her body onto the floor.
He is the real thing,
was the only thought she was capable of forming in those long moments, not even noticing where her pistol had disappeared to.

If there was any ambiguity about what was going on, the intruder’s next action completely erased it. Down on his knees before the policewoman’s prone body, Cinder grabbed her by the thighs, one with each hand, before getting his head right in front of her private region and getting down to business.

The electric buzzing of his tongue was unlike anything Charlotte had ever felt before: Hot, deep, and so incredibly fast.

The detective had attempted to reason a way out of her current situation, but the sensations this man invoked in her turned irresistible. She tried to tell him to stop, get out, turn himself in, but whatever sentence she wanted to form instead came out as incoherent moaning.

Taking the moans as a sign of approval, the intruder upped the pace of his oral intrusions even more, taking the policewoman to a place of ecstasy she hasn’t felt in a long time. Ripples of pleasure echoed all over her body, culminating between her legs and around her nipples, ushering the initial stage of a mind-blowing orgasm.

As if he felt it himself, Cinder’s head immediately rose up, along with the rest of his body, allowing another, smaller head to fill the void left by the previous one. The very moment he plunged in, the waves of pleasure that circled around Charlotte’s body turned into explosions, and the room disappeared as well as everything else. All that remained were the two of them, and a mutual feeling of supreme bliss that seemed to go on for an eternity. Then, that eternity abruptly ended.

Lazily, the detective opened one of her eyes, only to quickly regret it, for between the fleshy layers of her meaty thighs, an alien creature was panting and thrusting with beastly passion. With much effort, Charlotte managed to recognize her lover’s visage, twisted by the throes of passion into a misshapen grimace that was anything but human. Cinder’s previously flawless skin was now covered in hard scales, and contact with his exposed body revealed that it ran on an uncomfortably high temperature.

Shocked by the sight of this creature, the policewoman tried to pry herself away, but the man-dragon, having noticed her discomfort, quickly shifted his face back into the handsome one she knew from before. Burning hot, Cinder’s hands quickly found their way toward Charlotte’s rock-hard nipples, gripping them mercilessly. Reacting with a moan, the relaxed-again Charlotte felt the intruder invade another one of her orifices, sticking his tongue down her throat as deep as he could, granting her the hottest kiss she ever experienced. It was at this moment that he resumed jackhammering away as hard as he could, causing Charlotte to explode in yet another massive climax.

Recovering from the experience, the detective opened her eyes again, finding her partner in the middle of another transformative episode. Covered in hot, hard scales, Cinder contorted and let out his own moans, apparently close to orgasm himself.

Yet, when his reptilian, golden eyes met those of Charlotte, the intruder’s vocalizations incrementally grew tamer and tamer as he slowly started shifting back into human form.

“Don’t,” Charlotte purred as she caressed his hard, scaly chest. “I want you to feel good. Let it go.”

Visibly relieved, Cinder swiftly resumed and exceeded his previous pace, all while growing larger and larger, both in and out of Charlotte. Within a matter of seconds, the detective neared another climax, along with her draconic lover. When it finally came, the dragon lifted his long neck up into the air, exhaling a stream of blinding flame, almost high enough to touch the roof, as an immense pair of scaly wings extended from his upper back. This spectacle lasted for a good while, and when it was done, an exhausted and very human Cinder fell on top of his lover’s prone body, completely limp.

Satisfied in every way, Charlotte wrapped her hands around the former dragon, engulfing his body with her own, not completely certain where one person ended and the other began, both blown away by a torrent of passionate heat.

                                                                                    ***

In higher spirits than she’s been for well over a year now, Charlotte clasped her bag shut, now fully clothed. Smiling, she snuck another peek toward the entrance, next to which an already made up Cinder waited, wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants that were way too big for him. Expectedly, he made them look good regardless.

Cinder? I must get that moniker out of my head.
The man had told her his name. It was Michael.
Michael.

“Ready, my sweet?” Michael asked, smiling radiantly.

“You betcha, sugar!” the now former policewoman winked, shaking her hips provocatively as she made her way toward her man. Caressing his rock-hard body, she met his gaze with her own before they both exchanged a passionate kiss that left her lips hot and aching for more.

“The rest will come later, my fire-breathing dragon,” she practically sung the words out while unlocking the door. “But we must leave here as soon as possible. That gunshot is bound to attract some of my former colleagues.” For a minute there she paused, thinking about how easy it came to her to label the people she laid her life on the line with as “former”. This lasted only for a moment, but was apparent enough for Michael to notice.

“Having second thoughts, Charlotte?” he asked in a concerned manner. The former detective already grew to love the way he pronounced her name.
I’m looking forward to hearing in many, many more times,
she told herself silently.

“Not really,” she answered, knowing full well that what she said was true. The stresses of shepherding a cesspool like the slums of New York was not something she would wish upon the worst of enemies. “Merely remembering my colleagues, is all. Would you… Would you please step out first? I’d like to take another look at this place before I lock it down for the last time.”

Nodding and saying nothing at all, Michael did as he was asked. Taking a deep breath and taking it all in once more, Charlotte took a step backward, closed the door, and locked it down.
It is done,
she could hear her inner voice speak. Eager to start a new life with her dragon, Charlotte turned around, expecting a warm, hard body to hold, but finding only horror instead.

Completing the never-ending array of shocks that this evening had for Charlotte was Daniel, standing right next to Michael, revolver out and practically touching the shape-shifter’s right eye.

Words stuck in her throat, Charlotte tried to scream, but only air left her mouth. For a brief moment, she refused to acknowledge the scene taking part in front of her. Then, almost immediately afterward, it all made sense. The paranoid little robot had her bugged.

She wanted to hit him. She wanted to grab hold of his stick figure of a body and slam it against the wall. Unless Michael also had himself a pair of impenetrable eyes though, the game was set. There was nothing she could do.

Standing in front of her apartment door with the two most important men in her life, one about to end the other’s life after betraying her trust, seemed like an extended torture session. Michael merely remained in place, frozen in the same position for who knows how long. Charlotte was sweating, desperately scanning the area in an attempt to find something,
anything
she could use to turn the situation around. Expectedly, there was nothing. If there ever was, Daniel would have removed it long ago.

Finally, after who knows how much time, the realization hit her: her partner had come alone. He did not read her dragon his rights. He did not shoot Michael in the head. There was something in there, something other than just the desire to capture or kill Cinder, and whatever it was, she had to try and play it.

“That is one hell of a long time to hold someone at gunpoint, Dan,” she spoke, making her best attempt at a calm veneer. “If you wanted to shoot him, you could have done so a while ago. What’s your angle?”

Not moving an inch, Daniel remained in place, trigger finger ready to squeeze within a moment’s notice. If he ever intended to respond to what his partner said, he didn’t make it apparent in any way.

“I don’t think you even came here to shoot Michael, you know?” Charlotte was grasping at straws and she knew it. Still, there was no other option. “I think you merely came here to verify what you heard over that bug you installed in my apartment.”

He blinked this time.
I’m making progress.

“Listen, Dan. I won’t lie about us being friends,”
No one can ever be friends with that man.
“But we’ve been partners for almost three years now. Could you find it in your heart to let us go? You will never see us again. That, I can promise.”

“I have to kill him,” Daniel finally responded, though not in the way she hoped him to. “Otherwise, I will never see anyone else again.”

He assumes that Michael will burn him to a crisp the moment he lowers his pistol,
Charlotte articulated her thoughts. Looking at the shape-shifter’s expression of suppressed anger, she could only assume that her partner was right.

“How do you know that what you’ve heard was real,” she asked, and immediately regretted doing so.
