Now, he wanted something different. And something different would come at a high price.

He’d been in place for far too long. A gal like Autumn Lake had the potential to expose an undercover agent in place. People like her father had ties and connections, the kind of resources to find out whatever they wanted to know about other people.

He couldn’t play this game. Not right now. They were too close to bringing down the MC. Even worse, her father was a criminal and she clearly had some illegal blood in her veins, too.

Jake must’ve been out of his mind taking her out on the town. Worse, he must’ve been crazy to think he could take her out once and once would serve as enough. He grated back an outright cursing tantrum. He’d been so wrapped up in her, he’d meant to go back to the club and tell them Autumn Lake was his, hands-off to anyone and everyone. Damn if he hadn’t lost his perspective here. The back and forth, his inability to make up his mind, was frustrating at best.

Unfortunately, he already missed her. Fact was, he couldn’t wait until tomorrow.

He’d see her then. Maybe they’d have a good time together and once would be enough. He’d fuck her out of his system once and for all.

Yeah, that sounded like a solid plan.

Chapter Six

“All right, boys. Let’s get these trucks unloaded.” Autumn jumped out of the lead SUV with a clipboard.

She stepped right into her role as a mobster’s daughter, checking pallets and crates as several on her dad’s team rolled the shipment into the Heroes and Rogues clubhouse. “We need to move, guys!”

Her dad had advised her to be in and out within an hour. She’d talked to Chief Malory and he had assured her they could unload in that amount of time. He also warned her not to push it much later than four o’clock. The locals had a shift change at the top of the hour and the clubhouse wasn’t exactly off the beaten path. In fact, the police station was right down the road and the highway patrol was only a few miles up the interstate.

“Let’s shake a leg, fellas!” She caught movement in her periphery and turned to see Devon marching toward a woman she instantly recognized as Victory Rising. Wearing a baby-doll top and denim cutoffs, she leapt in Devon’s arms as soon as he reached her. Giggles filled the air before he hauled her off behind the building, cupping her cheeks and holding her against his crotch.

“So much for work,” she muttered, marking off another crate number.

“Jealous?”

Her nipples spiked as soon as Jake’s hot breath swept across her ear. Trying to play it off, she checked the remaining inventory. Walking away from him, she asked, “Why would I be envious?”

He stayed right behind her. She sensed him as she walked to the back of the only eighteen-wheeler they’d sent. Peering inside, she verified it was cleared and tapped on the metal. “All right. Let’s move!”

Seconds later, the commercial truck pulled away.

“Are you avoiding me for a specific reason?” Jake asked.

“I’m busy. You should be, too.” She was smothering and it had nothing to do with her father’s business or the dangers it represented. It had nothing to do with straddling the proverbial fence between right and wrong, playing the part of gun trafficking mobster daughter on one hand and federal agent on the other. She was uptight for a different reason.

She’d spent the night tossing and turning. All she’d thought about was the ‘what if’s’ and what was missed.

“Are you busy later?”

She dropped the clipboard to her side and stopped walking. Facing him, she asked, “Why?”

“I thought we might grab a beer after you get done here, but no problem. I’ll back off.” He moved around her and hollered at one of the club members walking toward the garage.

“Jake!” God, she sounded like a desperate high school girl.

He stopped, slowly turned, and the look on his face was instantly translated. She’d brushed him off and now she’d pay. If she wanted him, or even wanted a conversation with him, he’d make her work for it.

She slapped the clipboard against Tigger’s chest in passing. “It’s all here. Sign off on it and have Devon sign, too.” She never looked his way as she pursued the man responsible for giving her a sleepless night.

Dressed in jeans, biker boots, and a fitted white T-shirt stretching across that fine chest of his, Jake waited until she caught up to him. He sure didn’t meet her halfway.

“I have a better idea.” She tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “Why don’t I fix us something?”

“Fix us something?”

“Like dinner.”

A slow smile crept over his lips. “You cook?”

“No.”

“Then why are you offering?”

“A gal has to learn sometime.”

“And I’m the lucky guy who gets to be the guinea pig?”

“I’m offering to cook you dinner. Take it or leave it.”

He puckered and relaxed his lips, seemingly studied her with considerable thought before he said, “I’ll take it. I’ll bring the beer.”

“Six o’clock work for you?”

“Sounds like a plan.”

She stood there and watched him for a moment longer. She couldn’t help but stare at those full, perfectly shaped lips and wondered how well he could use them on a woman, wondering when he might decide to use them on her.

Autumn’s mouth watered as she remembered their kisses, the way he’d drawn her body against his and assaulted her lips, made love to her mouth with his tongue and lips.

“God I’m losing it,” she whispered, shaking her head and turning.

Before she walked away, he grabbed her wrist. “Come with me. There’s something I want you to see.”

“I need to…I mean…”

He cocked his head. “You need to what? The guns are unloaded. The guys can handle this. It’ll only take a minute.”

She nodded and let him lead the way. They entered the clubhouse’s side entrance and walked down a long hallway.

“This place is huge,” she said, making small talk as she followed him.

“It’s eight thousand square feet, not counting the garage and bays.” He paused, unlocked his door, and said, “Come in to my den.”

She took a moment to glance around Jake’s bachelor pad, but it wouldn’t have been longer than a second. Before she knew what hit her, he picked her up, slung her over his shoulder and slapped the hell out of her ass.

“Ouch! Are you crazy!”

“As a matter of fact, I am. Since I set eyes on you, I’ve been going mad.” He dumped her on the bed and stripped his shirt over his head before he joined her there.

She gasped. The man’s chest and abs were worthy of a good mouthwatering memory and she wanted to carve that image out in her mind.

“All I’ve thought about is doing this.” He delivered a tongue-driven breathless kiss, one that left her ready to beg, willing to grovel. Slowly, he backed out of their intimate moment as if it pained him to leave her lips. “If that’s not crazy, I don’t know what is.”

“It is. You’re right,” she agreed softly, mesmerized by his cut abs, tight body. What she’d give to run her tongue up and down his middle.

“What I’m feeling? It’s not going to ease up,” he said, grabbing her legs and yanking her to the end of his mattress.

“No.” She swallowed once, watching as he plucked her shoes from her feet. “It won’t.”

“It’s only going to get worse.” He used one knee to spread her legs and placed the other on the bed, right at her crotch.

He quickly fiddled with her snap, unzipped her shorts, and yanked them down, taking her black silk thong right along with them. “I’m not asking you for anything.” He didn’t pause or stall the pending play. Instead, he slipped his middle finger through her folds, thrusting it inside her.

“Ah…Hmm.” She bit down on her forefinger, realizing then she could’ve released an outright scream as he penetrated her with one finger, a lone digit.

He added another and then one more, watching her eyes as he slowly finger-fucked her. “Tell me how that feels.”

“I thought you weren’t going to ask me for anything.”

“Watching you changed my mind,” he said in a husky voice, stripping her clothes away from her legs and shifting his weight so he could stretch out between them. “And I want you to ask, Autumn.” He smoothed his hand over her bare, waxed mound. “I want you to beg, baby.” He lowered his mouth to her cunt and gave her one long swipe. “By the time I’m through with you, I want to hear you pleading and screaming, making promises even.”

Two days. She fell against the foam pillow and stared at the ceiling fan above her. She’d been on assignment for two days and she was already on her back.

His fingers dipped and retreated, reentered her again and left her once more. In and out they worked in a deliberate rhythm.

Jake was toying with her and loving it, but his pleasure couldn’t begin to match her own. Good Lord, maybe now she could understand why Summer Pain had fallen for a biker, for a rough and rowdy man who not only knew how to please a woman, but would also do whatever it took to make her feel more like a wanted woman, a sexy and sensual potential bed partner.

Perhaps Chief Malory had known Autumn better than she had known herself. She shook off the memory and his lame attempt to belittle her. This moment was too good to spend it thinking about the job—the job for the Feds or the job for her father.

Jake’s tongue parted her wet folds. He thrust inside her, moving his face from side to side. He tucked his hands under her bottom and brought her pussy to his mouth, licking and pleasing. He sipped at her center, using his lips to further drive her lust.

“Hmm.” She bit down on her finger, trying to maintain some sort of self-control, some measure of discipline so she wouldn’t grind out a quick orgasm, slam against him like a greedy woman who only wanted one thing, one orgasmic pleasure.

Jake crawled up her body. “Look at me.” He grabbed her chin and then kissed her, forcing his tongue through her lips and loving on her then with a new goal, a more significant meaning. He wasn’t in any hurry. He clearly enjoyed her, loved making love to her.

She gasped at the last thought. Making love? Since when did she fuck a stranger and call it making love?

“Jake, I—” She tried to push him away, but he held her hands trapped between their bodies. He kept kissing her, stroking her tongue with his while forcing her to taste the spicy flavor of her excitement.

He kissed a trail to her cheek and ear. Breathing softly at her lobe, he whispered, “Let me have you, Autumn. Just once and I swear if you don’t want me again, I’ll walk away.”

His hand dipped between her thighs again. He pinched her pussy lips together and she cried out with the sensation, realizing his mouth hovered over hers to mute her scream, muffle any possible forthcoming objection.

“I can’t,” she said, not wanting to romp around a biker’s room. Who else had slept in his bed? How many women had he taken there? How many women had he fucked once and then turned them away forever? Did she really want to be another notch on this guy’s belt, another dented spot behind the headboard?

He kissed her again, working her shirt up her belly and over her breasts. Her breath caught in her chest as he thumbed her nipple through the thin bra she wore. “I’ve been dying to see these. Can I?”

He lifted his head and stared down at her. He’d sucked her clit, licked her pussy, and now he was asking if he could see her breasts? Damn him for putting her to a test. If the shirt came off it was all over.

“Actually no.” She sat up, yanked her shirt down, and looked around for her shorts and thong. “I know what you’re thinking and I’m not a tease.”

At least not under normal circumstances.

“I don’t think you’re a tease,” he said, pushing the heel of his hand against the center of his bulging cock. “You may think you’re a little too good to bang a biker, but it doesn’t change the fact that you want me and sooner or later?
That want
will win out. We both know it will.”

Pissed because he would say such a thing, she rolled to the other side and left the bed. Collecting her clothes, she hurriedly dressed.

“Ticked off, are you?” He cupped the back of his head, relaxed on his side, and watched her.

“You didn’t exactly make my day.”

“You sure about that?” He moistened his mouth then dragged his thumb across his bottom lip. “I put a smile on your face for a little while.”

“Stop. I’m not kidding around here.”

“No? Forgive me here but after last night, I thought you liked to play. More importantly, I thought you wanted me.”

She hurried to the door, but didn’t get away. She opened it. Jake slammed it shut. He kept his arm high above her head with his palm flat against the surface. “What kind of games are we playing, Autumn? Hmm?”

“I don’t know.” She ran her fingers across her damp forehead. She must’ve been out of her mind. How could she start a relationship—even if it was based solely on sex—when she was already torn in so many different directions?

“Did you enjoy me?”

“You’re serious.”

“Yes.” His lips curved in a warm smile. “I think you liked me fucking you.”

“We didn’t fuck.” Her pulse was speeding up, slowing down.

“You call it whatever you want but when my head was between your legs, I fucked you with my tongue. Another minute, maybe not even thirty seconds, and you would’ve been slamming your pussy against my face, begging me not to stop.”

He was all Alpha male then, a true rogue, a real renegade. His jaw stiffened. Shadows encased his eyes. He grabbed her hand and pushed it against his cock. “I want you Autumn. I couldn’t sleep for wanting you, but if you can’t return the sentiment, let’s call it a day now. I see no reason to come over for dinner if we’re only gonna give one another the run around.”

Autumn yanked her arm free. She couldn’t catch her breath then and while Jake undoubtedly saw her as another club tease, a common broad, there was more at stake here than one wild and passionate night.

“Now I’ve put everything out there on the table. Is the invitation still there, too, or should I make other plans tonight?”

Coming up with a vision she couldn’t quite put out of her head, she said, “It’ll be ready and served at six o’clock.” A quick fantasy unraveled in her mind’s eye. Yes indeed. She’d serve up a meal he’d never forget.
