My life is a journey

With ups and downs

Somewhere I laugh

While somewhere I frown

My life is a journey

With a twist and a turn

Sometimes I play

And sometimes I learn

My life is a journey

Where limits touch the sky

Sometimes I jump up to catch it

And sometimes I sit down and sigh

My life is a journey

And I’m loving the ride

Knowing my friends and family

Are right by my side

When you chart a course of your own

When the sight of your goal you're shown

Even if you find the road rough, the grass overgrown

My friend, you'll have to walk alone

There will be hands helping you by

There'll be tears when you cry

There'll be those who match your tone

But to your glory, my friend, you'll walk alone

Times would come when you might stumble

Threatening, the earth would rumble

You may fall, or even break a bone

But to the end, your prize, you'll walk alone

And when tired, in pain, you'll rest awhile

for never turning back, with pride you'll smile

Up ahead in sight would be your throne

to which my friend, you'll walk alone.

I was riding a dream boat.

My cushion against reality.

A spirit, untamed, bohemian,

An undiscovered soul,

Journeying into the unknown –

Searching for poetry.

I defied the icy disdain of time.

My savagery was too obstinate.

The heart throbbed with a reason.

Bubbles of dream rose like passion.

Wings of desire soared into the wide horizon,

Like birds with outspread wings,

Shattering the norms of sanity.

The crepuscular dream of illusion,

Lulled my golden hopes.

No creation can trap me.

In this life,

It was my saving grace.

I was riding my dream boat,

In search of poetry.

Braving the tides of life,

Sweeping through the vortex of pain.

Only to discover –

I was chasing my dreams,

Riding in a capsized boat.
