This is a work of fiction. The characters and events in this book, with the exception of the extraordinary story of Patty Hearst and the SLA, are the products of imagination. I've taken the liberty of introducing theories about the U.S. government and some of the people whose stories connect up with the SLA, or who were on the periphery, theories that are not necessarily true or, at least, have not been proven.
