“That’s… yeah, a very good start.” He rasped.

Avery nodded and then seemed to forget there was a man attached to the cock he started greedily and ruthlessly licking and sucking.

“So good.” He murmured as he lapped at the head, collecting the slick fluid that leaked from the end before he took Mason as deep as he could and went back to sucking enthusiastically.

Mason could only stare at Avery’s head as it bobbed up and down over him while he whimpered and gasped desperately. He felt the back of Avery’s throat and his mouth fell open as his eyes rolled back in his head. It had been a long time since he’d felt a mouth around his cock but he was prepared to swear that it had never felt that good before. He panted and tried to fill his lungs and when he closed his mouth to try and speak he found it dry from panting desperately for several minutes. Mason worked the saliva around in his mouth until it felt normal but whatever he was about to say evaporated as Avery hummed as his tongue rubbed against the underside of Mason’s erection. He felt Avery’s hand close around his sack and it immediately pulled tight against his body. Mason arched and reached for Avery’s shoulders.

“Oh, fuckfuckfuck!” He gasped as his hands fluttered against the sides of Avery’s head. “Fuck! I’m going to come soon, Avery!” He whimpered. Avery hummed and started sucking harder. Mason felt pressure building in his balls and quickly surge up the base of his cock as heat and pleasure swelled in his groin. “Oh, God… Ooooh, God!” Mason pulled the duvet against his mouth and screamed as the pressure, heat and pleasure rushed up his length and every nerve in his body clenched. His shoulders came off the bed and he froze, head thrown back and mouth wide open as his nerves flashed and the end of his cock exploded as liquid heat spilled from him, deep into Avery’s mouth. Avery wrapped his arm around Mason’s hips as he sucked hard. “Avery!” Mason yelled and his hand wrapped around Avery’s head as his body started to shake violently. Colors burst behind his eyelids and warmth and heaviness washed over his body. Avery licked gently, collecting any of Mason’s come that he had missed causing Mason to buck and shiver as he twisted on the bed. “Good! That’s good! God! Please!” Mason begged as he pressed his hands to his face as he struggled to catch his breath. He heard Avery chuckle and felt him moving over him. Mason felt Avery’s hot, soft lips brush against his and he grabbed Avery’s head and kissed him deeply. He could taste his come on Avery’s tongue and he moaned as he wrapped a leg around Avery’s waist, pulling him close. Avery lifted his head and looked at Mason expectantly.

“So… Good?” He teased. Mason nodded.

“Very good. Are you sure that’s the first time you’ve done that?” He looked at Avery skeptically. Avery smiled and rolled onto his side and propped his head up with his hand.

“I just did my best to do everything you did.” He said as his hand slid over Mason’s slick chest. Mason laughed.

“Your logic was very sound.” Mason said as he flung his arm over his eyes as he waited for his heart to settle. Avery’s hand swirled around Mason's belly button.

“I think that’s how I want you to teach me everything. You go first and I’ll just do what you do, to you.” He seemed very pleased with the concept and Mason didn’t see a fault in the plan.

“Deal.” Mason said as he turned his head to Avery’s. Why did he seem so energetic while Mason felt as if every bone in his body had melted? Avery leaned over and ran his tongue up Mason’s stomach causing Mason to hiss.

“You can’t know how long I’ve wanted to do that.” Avery declared as he rolled and leapt from the bed. Mason stared up at him in confusion.

“Lick my stomach?” He asked and Avery shook his head.

“Taste your sweat. I love how you smell after a run or a workout.” He said as he turned and walked across the room toward the bathroom. “You taste divine.” Avery said over his shoulder before the bathroom light came on. The glow surrounded Avery and he disappeared. Mason heard the sound of water hitting tile before Avery appeared in the doorway. “Let’s take a shower, I can’t remember the last time I took one without imagining you with me.” He announced before he disappeared again.

“Fuck, that’s hot.” Mason whispered before he tore from the bed and ran into the bathroom.

The shower was incredible. Avery had programmed all of the jets that surrounded them into a symphony of pressures and rhythms that would have turned every muscle in Mason’s body into jelly if he hadn’t been so distracted and aroused by Avery’s naked body rubbing and sliding against his. Or, Avery’s hands as he rubbed his shower gel all over Mason’s body. By the time they finished bathing each other, they were both hard and urgent again. Mason pinned Avery against the wall and stroked their cocks together tightly until they came, screaming into each other’s mouths.

After, they slid down the wall and collapsed on the tiled floor and laughed and kissed until their fingers were pale and pruned. Avery shut off the water and retrieved two towels so they could dry each other off before they stumbled back to the bed. Mason collapsed on his back and Avery settled next to him and pressed his face into the corner of Mason’s neck. Mason smiled as he stroked Avery’s back lazily. Avery hummed softly as he draped his arm over Mason’s chest.

“Stay.” He whispered drowsily. Mason nodded as warmth flooded him.

“I don’t think I could move right now if I wanted to.” He mumbled and he heard a weak chuckle from Avery before his body relaxed against his.

It took moments for Mason to drift off into darkness. He had always been a light sleeper and he woke off and on through the night. Every time he woke, his body was intertwined with Avery’s. Mason would be wrapped around him, Avery’s back pressed against his chest. Or Avery would be draped over his body. Or Mason’s face would be buried in the corner of Avery’s neck and his arms would be wrapped around Avery’s chest. Or they would be face to face and their legs and arms would be tangled. It was utterly perfect and Mason had never felt so content, so at peace.

Chapter 6

Avery woke up with a huge smile on his face. He thought the delicious tingling spreading from his groin was due to the memories from the night before until he felt lips wrap tight around his cock as they slid up his length, sucking hard and causing stars to burst before his unfocused eyes. He hissed and tried to sit but a hand slid up his stomach and pushed against his chest. Avery fell back onto the pillows and moaned in delight as he slid his hands into cool, silky hair.

“Mason.” He sighed as his head rolled back and forth. “That’s incredible.” He whispered.

Those were the last coherent words that came from Avery for some time. Mason was rewarded with several shrieks after he parted Avery’s thighs and pressed his knees back so he could explore Avery’s ass with his tongue and lips. Mason flicked, probed, sucked and kissed Avery’s tight, puckered hole until he sobbed before Mason returned to Avery’s dripping, throbbing cock. He sucked relentlessly until Avery came with a hoarse roar and Mason hungrily swallowed every drop of his release. When Avery was done, Mason licked the clear, slick juices that had leaked all over Avery’s stomach before he crawled up his body. Mason hovered over Avery, his arms extended, smiling as he stared down at Avery.

“Could you wake me up like this every morning?” Avery asked as he pulled Mason down on top of him. Avery kissed him thoroughly before he released him. Mason smiled and nodded.

“Gladly. Now, get up.” Mason said before he dropped his head and bit Avery’s nipple. Avery flinched and gasped as he grabbed a handful of Mason’s hair.

“What are we doing?” Avery asked as he narrowed his eyes at Mason.

“Going to my place so I can make you breakfast, it’s my turn to feed you.” He winked and tried to roll away but Avery rolled with him and pinned him to the bed.

“Not so fast.” He growled as he set his lips to Mason’s chest and started dropping openmouthed kisses as he moved down Mason’s body. “What I want is right here.”

Once again, it was several minutes before he said actual words. This time, his mouth was too busy exploring Mason’s ass. He probably would have felt self conscious of all the drooling he did as he licked, sucked and drilled his tongue into Mason’s sweet, tight hole but Mason was too mindless to notice as he moaned and writhed on the bed above Avery. By the time Avery took Mason’s cock in his mouth it was only a few minutes before he was swallowing Mason’s tart, mildly salty come. He decided that there wasn’t any part of Mason’s body that wasn’t delicious as he licked him clean and made his way up Mason's body.

“Now we can go.” Avery said as he nipped Mason’s chin. He swore he could feel Mason’s smile.

“How about we go back to sleep and I’ll make you lunch?” Mason mumbled as he tried to pull Avery on top of him. Avery slid from his grasp and crawled off the bed.

“Nope! I’m up now. Come on.” He said as he scooped up Mason’s clothes and tossed them at him.

Mason took his time getting dressed but Avery didn’t mind. He washed up and dressed quickly then went into the living room to clean up the wine bottles and wine glasses. He had the glasses washed and dried and was putting them away when Mason stumbled into the living room. Mason looked around and raised a brow at Avery before he grinned broadly. Avery narrowed his eyes at him.

“What?” He asked suspiciously. Mason chuckled as he came around the island and took Avery’s hand.

“You’re going to hate my apartment!” He announced cheerfully as he pulled Avery toward the door. Avery grabbed his keys as Mason pulled the door open. Avery stopped Mason and pushed the door shut. Mason looked back at Avery, his brows pulled together in confusion. “What’s wrong?” He asked. Avery shook his head.

“Nothing. Do you remember what you said last night, about the walking through this door?” Avery watched as Mason’s lips curved. He leaned close and placed a quick kiss on Avery’s lips.

“I think I’ve found my future husband.” He whispered as his eyes shone into Avery’s.

Chapter 7

Mason was finally wrong about something. Avery loved his apartment. It was warm and masculine. Rich woods, soft leathers and luxurious upholstery in reds and earth tones enveloped Avery as his eyes darted around. There were books everywhere. Mason had nearly every wall lined with shelves. Any wall that wasn’t covered with books was decorated with art. There was such an eclectic variety, everything from classical to modern to Native American, but it all worked together. Mostly, Avery loved that everything smelled like Mason. Avery could have stayed forever, his eyes shut as he breathed Mason in.

“Feel free to look around.” Mason called over his shoulder as he went down the hall. “All the butt plugs and nipple clamps are in my bedside table.” His voice became muffled and Avery followed.

He found Mason in his closet pulling on a clean pair of jeans. Avery looked around Mason’s room and was struck by how relaxing and comfortable it felt. A large four post bed rested absurdly in the middle of the room. Probably to allow access to the shelves that lined the walls that were filled with more books. The bed was unmade but looked soothing and inviting as a pile of pillows, sheets, a comforter and a thick quilt in shades of soft blues and greens beckoned. Avery knew it would all smell like Mason and he wanted to dive in and bury his face in the pillows and wrap everything around him. He heard Mason behind him and turned to see him pulling a t-shirt over his head. The Lemonheads? In the almost two years Avery had watched Mason come and go he had never seen him wear the same t-shirt twice.

“Did you find my stash?” Mason asked as he passed through to the bathroom.

Avery shook his head as he watched Mason turn on the water at the sink and lean over it as he brushed his teeth. Avery looked back at the bed and frowned as he considered the bedside tables. He moved closer to the one on the right and felt his stomach start to tighten as his nerves began to hum. He pulled the knob and the drawer slid open. Avery held his breath as he looked inside. More books. There was also an eyeglass case, a bottle of eye drops and Burt’s Bees lip balm. Relieved, Avery shut the drawer and went around the bed. He scowled at his hand as it shook slightly and Avery pulled the drawer open quickly. He frowned as he looked down. Books, again. Two watches, a bottle of Tylenol and headphones. There was another smallish bottle and Avery picked it up. KY Jelly Lubricant.

“I’m afraid that’s as exciting as it gets. Disappointed?” Mason asked as his arms wrapped around Avery’s waist from behind. Mason’s chin rested on Avery’s shoulder and his lips found Avery’s ear. “I’m going to have to start buying bigger bottles since it isn't just me anymore.” Avery felt his insides flutter and he rested his hands on Mason’s.

“I’ve always been a dry hand or in the shower kind of guy. Do you really think we’ll use that much more?” He felt Mason’s teeth close around his earlobe and heat pooled in his groin.

“Trust me.” Mason whispered. Avery felt the words and he was about to tell Mason that he did trust him when he kissed Avery on the neck and released him.

“I promised you breakfast. Is there anything you don’t like?” He asked as he started pulling the sheets and blankets straight on his bed. For some reason, it disappointed Avery. He shook his head as he watched Mason.

“No, I’m not very picky when it comes to food and I don’t have any allergies.” He followed Mason into the hallway and stopped when Mason turned and pulled him close.

“I hope you’re not in a rush, breakfast might take a while.” He warned. Avery felt his nerves flutter and another smile tugged at his lips. He couldn’t remember the last time he smiled this much.

“Take all the time you need, I’m not going anywhere.” Avery said the words against Mason’s lips.

“No plans for the day?” He flicked his tongue against Avery’s lower lip and Avery felt his body tighten.

“You tell me. I’m free all weekend.” Avery felt Mason’s lips curve against his.

“All weekend? Then I’ve got lots of plans for you.” Mason murmured as his hand slid around Avery’s neck. His lips brushed against Avery’s until they opened and Mason’s tongue swirled slowly through Avery’s mouth. Avery was about to pull Mason back into the bedroom when Mason lifted his head and smiled wickedly. “I have to feed you, you’re going to need your strength.” He winked then pulled away. “Coffee? Espresso? What would you like?” He asked as he walked backwards. Avery shrugged.

“Make me whatever you’re having.” He said as he reached for Mason’s hips. Mason skipped back and shook his head.

“No more distracting me! You, wander around and stay out of the kitchen!” He pointed and attempted a stern glare. Avery rolled his eyes and looked in the room to his right.

“I’m starting to think your lunch idea has merit.” He called over his shoulder before letting his eyes scan the room around him. Surprisingly, no books. There were the wall to wall shelves but they were filled with records. There had to be thousands. Avery went to inspect an antique stereo cabinet and found that the record player and other components were all modern. A pair of over the head, bluetooth headphones hugged the headrest of a leather mid century lounge chair. Avery looked up at the sound of music and his eyes went to the built in speakers overhead. A moment later, there was the hiss of an espresso machine from the kitchen. Avery was flipping through the albums on the shelves when Mason entered with a coffee mug and handed it to Avery.

“Can I borrow your keys? I want to get something from your apartment.” Mason asked. Avery nodded absently as he pulled them from his pocket and tossed them at Mason. “I’ll be right back.” Mason said as he strode through the door. Avery turned back to the shelf and his eyes widened when he realized that he’d handed someone keys to his apartment without hesitation.
Woah.
He waited for panic to set in. Nothing. A moment later, he heard the door open. “I’m back. Your keys are on the counter.” Mason called from the kitchen.

Avery shrugged and took a sip of his coffee. It was heaven. Rich, strong and not too sweet. Avery hummed contentedly as he continued to flick through the albums. The coffee was really, really good. If the sex was half as good as Avery expected it would be, he’d have to marry Mason. After twenty or so minutes, Avery made his way into the living room and wandered over to the piano. There were stacks of sheet music but Avery didn’t know the first thing about reading music so he turned his attention to the kitchen.

“Can you play something for me later?” Avery called. He saw Mason shut the oven door before he turned and nodded.

“Sure. How’s your coffee?” Mason asked as he opened the fridge and started filling his arms. Avery thought about offering to help but remembered Mason’s orders.

“Amazing. Should I propose now or wait until after breakfast?” He asked. Mason turned and his smile was stunning.

“We haven’t even gotten a dog yet and you better have a ring.” Mason winked before he turned his attention back to cooking. Avery grimaced and shook his head.

“No dog.” He said as his eyes fell to a book on the coffee table. He heard a soft chuckle from the kitchen.

“We’ll see.” Mason warned. Avery would have responded but his mind was absorbed in the book in his hands.

“You wrote this!” Avery said as he flipped it over in his hands and saw a small picture of Mason in a grey suit leaning against a desk. “You didn’t tell me you’re an author.” He looked over and saw Mason shrug as he chopped.

“I tried to be but I found that I enjoyed the marketing and business end of the process more. And I can’t make a living as a writer.” He admitted. “Hey, I’ve had that sitting there for days. I promised Lidia from the coffee shop that I’d give it to her but I keep forgetting it. Remind me to take it with me when we go out.” Mason turned to the stove and Avery made a sound that indicated agreement as he fell into an armchair and opened the book.

Some time later, Avery looked up when Mason called to him. He was already 62 pages into Mason’s book and had completely lost track of time. The story was riveting and the language was beautiful. Avery had been transported to 19th century Europe and the interwoven lives of two cousins divided by the shifting politics created by the rise of Napoleon. Avery was sincerely torn. He didn’t want to stop reading but he couldn’t tell Mason he didn’t want to eat.

“The book is beautiful, Mason.” Avery said as he sat at the table. Mason blushed and looked down as he set a plate before Avery.

“Thank you. Unfortunately, there isn’t a huge market for that sort of thing.” He came back from the kitchen and set a plate of scones on the table and sat close to Avery at the round table. Avery snorted as he cut into his omelet.

“People are reading crap right now. Just because the society that embraces Honey Boo Boo and The Kardashians doesn’t appreciate your writing, doesn’t mean your book isn’t a success.” He took a bite and groaned. Spinach, bacon, mushrooms and gouda. “You’re seriously killing me. This is incredible.”

Mason laughed softly as he ate. Avery took a few more bites and watched as Mason took a scone, broke off a corner and slathered it with butter. Mason waited for Avery to finish chewing and swallow before he held it up for Avery to try. Avery opened his mouth and let Mason push the still steaming bite of scone past his lips. Avery closed his teeth playfully on Mason’s fingers for a moment before releasing them. Mason watched Avery expectantly and he began to chew.
Sweet Jesus.
Avery sank into his seat and his eyes rolled back into his head as the tender pastry dissolved in his mouth and the taste of butter, sugar and cherry melted on his tongue. He swallowed and opened his eyes. Mason’s grin was knowing as he offered the rest of the scone. Avery jumped from his seat and landed astride Mason’s lap. He took Mason’s face in his hands and lowered his head so he could devour Mason’s mouth hungrily, urgently. Mason moaned in approval as his arms closed around Avery. When Avery finally raised his head, Mason’s lips were swollen and his eyes were dazed and heavy.

“Can I keep you?” Avery asked as he let his thumb brush along Mason’s lower lip. Mason opened his mouth and sucked on Avery’s thumb for a moment before releasing it.

“I was hoping you would.” He said softly. Avery nodded before he lowered his head and kissed Mason’s lips briefly before he returned to his seat.

“If you make me fat, you’ll definitely be stuck with me.” He teased as he took another bite of the scone. “These are divine.” Avery murmured.

“I got the dried cherries from your apartment. I knew they were your favorite but I didn’t think you’d be that enthusiastic.” Mason said as he poured Avery a glass of juice.

“You’re pretty much perfect.” Avery sighed as he lifted his glass. “Is there anything you’re not good at?” He asked before he took a sip.

“Math. I’m lousy at anything with numbers.” Mason admitted and Avery shrugged.

“So we can add cooking, baking and brilliant writer the list of reasons why you should have been snatched up years ago.” Avery took another bite of his scone and sighed happily as he pondered the nature of fate.

“Just because I wrote a book five years ago, doesn't mean I’m a writer.” Mason argued before he scooped a bite of his omelet into his mouth.

“You’re a writer, and a really good one, Mason.” Avery replied. Mason’s eyes flicked off to the side as if he was remembering something.

“Ryan used to say that if I would just write something younger and sexier I might actually be a success.” Mason’s voice was low as he returned to his omelet. Avery felt his lips pull into a frown.

“He sounds like a prick. What does Ryan do?” Avery saw the corner of Mason’s lips tilt.

“He’s a writer. You might have heard of him. Ryan Bright?” His eyes met Avery’s and waited. Avery felt his mouth fall open for a minute in surprise before he frowned.

“The dick bag that writes all the chick flicks.” He busied himself with his omelet, afraid that Mason might see the hint of jealousy or possessiveness he was suddenly feeling.

“Yeah… I guess his reputation is rather tainted.” Mason chuckled as he took another bite. Avery nodded in agreement.

“Making an ass of himself on Oprah didn’t help.” Avery added. A large grin split Mason’s face.

“Maybe I’m a terrible person, but I DVR’d it and watched it over and over again. I can’t believe someone didn’t see that that would be a train wreck and stop him before he went on.” He was quiet for a moment before he looked over at Avery. “He wasn’t always that bad. Age and success kind of turned him into a monster. He was always a bit of a narcissist but most writers are, it takes a high level of confidence to keep putting your work out there and there’s a lot that can break you if you aren’t mentally equipped for it.” Avery nodded in understanding.

“You didn’t stop writing because he said your books weren’t young or sexy enough, did you?” He was relieved when he saw Mason shake his head.

“I only had the one book in me and I didn’t enjoy being on the other end of the publishing process. Maybe I’ll find another one in me and try again later. I’m pretty happy with where I’m at right now professionally.” Mason assured him. Avery reached over and brushed his fingers over Mason’s hand.

“I’m pretty happy with where you’re at right now.” Avery said softly.
