“You’re right, bro. At least this once, you’re solving all my problems for me. Let’s get to work,” said Doug.

Chapter Fifteen

Aaron hung up the phone as Marsha walked out of the bathroom wearing only a towel. It was a little small, so while it covered her on top, it fell open at the waist, and he loved the view.

“Was that your dad?” Marsha asked him as she sat down on the end of the bed and started smoothing lotion on her legs.

Even though they had made love most of the night, Aaron was ready to go again. If he didn’t have an appointment with his commander, he’d be pulling her back onto the bed right now. Since he had to leave and his pants were becoming uncomfortable, he turned away from all that glorious skin. Remembering her question, he started filling his pockets with his ID, wallet, and a few other things as he answered her.

“Yeah, really good news. It turns out Uncle Matt and Aunt Carrie had already met Laura’s Alex. He actually has an FBI unit made up of people with those special skills. The SAC is also the Chairman of the West Virginia Rotary Club,” Aaron said using all the coded words Laura had taught him. His condo wasn’t a secure location; they always had to watch what they said.

“SAC?” she asked, removing the towel to put lotion on her arms and chest.

Aaron made the mistake of turning to look at her. He’d just gotten his erection to go down. Now, in an instant, he was harder than before. Spinning back to the dresser, he picked up his watch to put on his wrist. He was beginning to think she was torturing him on purpose.

“It means Special Agent in Charge. He lives in one of the towns being targeted. His FBI unit often hangs out at his club house. No one will think anything is up when he invites them over for a weekend of fishing. Aunt Carrie’s going to come over and take you shopping while I’m on base. We need to find a moving company, and you need to see if there’s anything here you want to keep or if you want to wait and get all new,” he said, his voice rougher and deeper than normal.

Without looking at her again, because he wasn’t in to self-torture, he ducked out of the bedroom and headed for the kitchen.

Marsha saw the way he practically ran from the room and smiled. Opening her suitcase, she pulled out a cute pair of navy blue boy short cut panties edged in ivory lace. Then she added the matching bra and stepped into the living room carrying a pair of jeans in one hand.

“What time is your aunt coming by? Do you at least have a picture of her, so if some other lady comes to the door I’ll know if it’s her or not?” she asked as she walked toward him.

“Why don’t you go back in the bedroom and finish getting dressed? I’ll tell you about it over coffee when you’re done,” he ground out.

“I’m just trying to be efficient with our time. You have to leave in about fifteen minutes,” she reminded him.

Leaning against the end of the counter, she bent over to put on her jeans. Aaron couldn’t get past her because she blocked the only exit from the narrow galley kitchen. Once again he found himself needing to turn away from the sight of her mouth-watering curves. Bent over like that, she was practically spilling out of her bra. His mouth went dry. Reaching for his coffee, he took a gulp and promptly burned his tongue.

“Damn it! Marsha, quit torturing me and go finish getting dressed. I can’t take anymore. I have to leave,” he growled out.

Leaving her jeans only halfway buttoned, she took two steps forward until she was right in front of him. She ran her fingers over the large bulge in his ACU’s.

“First, you’re sticking me with doing all the shopping because your cupboards are bare. I don’t know the grocery stores here, so it’s going to take twice as long. Then I’m going to be meeting your aunt without you as a buffer. What if she doesn’t like me? This is really not the honeymoon I had envisioned. We’re supposed to be having non-stop sex for at least two or three days. Where is my Do Not Disturb sign? Therefore, it’s only fair I make sure you spend the day thinking about everything you’ll be missing by going to your Army base,” she told him, giving his crotch one last pat before turning to walk away.

It took a couple of sentences for his brain to register all her words. All the blood had rushed from his head to all parts south.

“Wait a minute. First off, if you don’t want to do the shopping, then don’t. We can get delivery or go out for our meals, that’s what I usually do anyway. Secondly, Aunt Carrie is going to love you. Especially when she finds out we’re together and trying to make babies. She’s been after me to ‘find a nice girl and settle down’ for nearly ten years now. Finally, you don’t have to worry about the non-stop sex. I’ll be ready to go a couple of minutes after I get back from the base. So unless you want your clothes to be ruined, you’d better be waiting for me in the bed…naked.”

By the time he finished his rant, he’d stalked all the way back to the bedroom. Then he lost all ability to speak when he saw his mate naked in the middle of the bed. She had propped herself up on the headboard. With knees spread wide, she had her fingers moving in and out of her vagina. It was too much for his control.

He stalked over to the bed; with one hand, he opened his uniform pants and freed his cock. With the other, he grabbed her ankle and pulled her down to the edge of the bed. Lifting her calves up onto his shoulders, he then guided his cock to her slit and thrust home.

“You’re so wet for me, baby. You’ve got me wound so tight this is going to be brutally fast,” he said as he began moving in and out, harder, faster, and deeper.

He had his hands digging in her hips and ass as he held her in place for his thrusts. As tall as he was, he was holding her up off the bed. Only her head and shoulders were still touching the mattress.

As quickly as they had begun, he knew he wasn’t going to be able to hold back his orgasm. Bending his legs so his knees rested on the edge of the bed, he ground himself against her and reached for her clit with one hand. She shouted out her release, calling his name. Her spasms set him off right after, filling her with his seed. He realized they hadn’t used a condom, again.

He leaned forward to give her a kiss and then pulled out and away. After using a tissue to clean up, he tucked in and re-zipped.

“That was a great way to send me off and I appreciate it. Did you realize you got me so hot I forgot to use a condom?”

“Huh. Well, I’m not in heat right now so I won’t get pregnant. But I wouldn’t mind a few cubs. How do you feel about it?” she asked when she’d gotten her breath back. Good thing she was naked; she was going to need another shower.

“I’m thirty-seven years old, so I’m totally ready to start a family. I just thought we should talk about it first. Now I’ve got to go. The Army doesn’t like it when you’re late. Since I’m already giving my commander bad news, I don’t need to start by pissing him off.”

With one last look, he left the room. Moments later, Marsha heard the front door slam. She had a big grin on her face. When she remembered about Aunt Carrie, she rushed back to the bathroom. Aaron had forgotten to tell her what time she was coming over!

Marsha jumped back in the shower and quickly washed the sweat and scent of sex from her body. Her hair was still damp so she just rinsed it. She was dressed and pulling the sheets from the bed to wash when the doorbell rang.

She ran for the door after closing the bedroom door behind her. There was no reason to shove the fact that she was having sex with Aaron in the lady’s face. She didn’t want her new family to think she was a hussy. Yeah, she was mated. These people were human, though, and might not understand exactly what that meant.

Opening the door, she saw a pretty blond lady she knew was in her late fifties and didn’t look a day older than forty. This was definitely the lady in the photos on the wall of the living room.

“Hello! You must be Marsha. I’m so very happy to meet you,” gushed the woman as she walked in giving Marsha a big hug and kiss on the cheek before moving past her into the living room.

Once Marsha had closed the door behind her, Aunt Carrie lowered her voice and tipped her head closer.

“So, is being mated anything like what’s described in my romance novels? If it is, I’m so jealous. In case you didn’t know, I’m Aaron’s Aunt Carrie. Please call me Carrie and I’ll call you Marsha. Now, where do you want to go shopping?”

“Well, Carrie, there’s no food in the house, for one thing. We also need to find a trustworthy real estate agent to sell this condo. Aaron said I needed to decide what pieces of his furniture I wanted to keep. All his stuff is boring bachelor beige; I’m going to suggest we donate it. Instead, I want to just pack up all his mementos. Besides, until we build a house, we don’t have a lot of space,” said Marsha, blurting out her every thought. Something about Carrie had her missing her own mom. Right then, she missed her so much, she nearly cried.

Seeing the tears, Carrie dropped her purse on the floor and took her in her arms. “Oh, sweetie, what’s wrong? You’ve got one of the best men on the planet who loves you. And more importantly is willing to give me babies to spoil. If I do say so, and I do, you’ve also got a great new family to rely on. Come on, tell me all about it,” she said, rubbing her hands in circles on Marsha’s back.

“I miss my mom,” Marsha sobbed.

Carrie’s gentle touch had brought forth a slew of memories. Marsha and her mom and sisters had spent many happy hours talking about their future mates and dreaming. Every once in a while, the loss just stabbed her through the heart—this was one of those times.

“Oh, darling, I know, I know. Now come over here and sit down. You can tell me all about your mom. Before you know it, she’ll be right here in the room with us.”

Marsha did as she asked. For the next couple of hours, the two of them talked about their families, sharing stories, laughing and sometimes crying. At the same time, they washed the sheets, made the bed with fresh linens, and straightened up the rest of the apartment. Aaron had left town in something of a hurry and unlike his dad, didn’t have a housekeeper to come in while he was gone to clean and dust.

“I don’t think you need to buy groceries,” said Carrie as they left. “You’re going to be in and out, traveling and sight-seeing while you’re here. Then you’ll be moving. Let’s just pick up some pastries or muffins to have with coffee in the mornings when you first get up and you can have that nephew of mine take you out for meals.”

“Aaron mentioned something like that before he left. I was just worried about the expense of eating out all the time,” said Marsha.

“Don’t you worry about that; those boys have plenty of money. Except for this condo, Aaron has banked nearly all of his military pay. No great shakes, government salaries being what they are; of course, he and his brothers all helped Laura get started with her game programming. Whenever she sold a game, they all got a piece of the profits. You can feel free to donate all that beige and buy all new, once you build your dream house. Now why don’t we go shopping? Matt’s sending me out to see Laura, and I want to get her a housewarming gift,” said Carrie.

“I don’t know if she needs anything much for her house. Except maybe some more family pictures?” Marsha said, remembering the one wall in Aaron’s living room which was covered in photos. “Of course, she’ll need things for the babies.”

“Babies? Wait, Doug didn’t say
anything
about babies. Oh! Isn’t that just like a man! They spent the entire evening talking about terrorists and making plans to arrest them. Never once did he mention the one really important thing! Well, that changes everything. We’re going to the baby store, too. It’s been too long since I bought baby clothes.”

“I know it will mean a lot to Laura to get them and, even more, to have you there. She’s been worried about blending her two families together,” said Marsha.

“Isn’t it wonderful that her worries are over?” giggled the older woman. “And, Marsha, don’t think that just because Laura is giving me babies to cuddle, I’m letting you and Aaron off the hook. The two of you need to get moving and give Laura’s children someone to play with.”

Marsha just laughed. She loved her new Aunt Carrie and couldn’t understand why she’d been so nervous about meeting her.

Chapter Sixteen

When Aaron came home from spending a long day at Fort Meade, he was tired and worn down. Even more disappointing, there was no Marsha waiting for him. It was nearly six-thirty; how much shopping could she actually need to do? Running a hand through his hair, he went into the bedroom to change out of his uniform.

His commander had tried to convince him to take a job on base, training the new up-and-coming soldiers. If he only knew, those were exactly Aaron’s plans, only with a different set of soldiers. Perhaps his commander thought he wanted out of active duty service. Aaron had put in twenty years; it was possible. Still, Aaron wasn’t a desk jockey, by any means.

After an hour of being unable to sway him, Aaron was finally dismissed to go see a general who tried for another hour to convince him to stay in. The Army had invested a lot in training him. He had unique methods in training with his teams. His team’s mission success rating was in the top ten percent. They wanted those skills to be used in the training of others. In order to convince them he was serious, Aaron finally had to admit he’d met someone and wanted to settle down to married life.
