“I
sure do,” said Matt, standing up and going to the podium. “I feel that you
already know my answer to that because I’m in office, working under this tight
fiscal conditions and still crime is down, citizens feel safe, and why would
you want to mess with a good thing by electing someone…no offense to you, Connor,
who doesn’t have a track record in fiscal accountability?”

“Connor,
you wish to reply?” asked the moderator.

Connor
sat there looking into space. Someone was definitely wrong with him.

“Connor?”
asked the moderator again.

“What, oh, sorry, sure.”
He stood and
approached the podium.

“It’s
true I don’t have a track record with a big office like county sheriff, but
I’ve run a ranch with my father. We’ve had many ups and downs and many of you
here tonight now how volatile ranching can be.”

Lot
of people nodded their heads in agreement.

“Handling
money, balancing budgets is the same thing whether you’re a rancher or a county
sheriff, and I hope that you’ll give me a chance to prove myself. No offense to
you, Matt, but I think Big Sky County needs a change of face in the sheriff’s
department.”

Matt
bit his lip and glared at Connor who sat.

“Onto our next question.
And we’ll let
you go first this time, Connor. A growing problem for the county is the meth
labs that are popping up everywhere. What is your solution for that?”

Connor
sat with his head down. People were starting to whisper and look at one
another.

“Connor?”
asked the moderator.

Connor
looked up. “I’m sorry folks; I can’t do this right now. I have to leave. Maybe
we can reschedule for another time.”

He
stood, grabbed his hat, and took off via the side door. Betty got up and ran
after him and the place filled with a general hum about what they’d just
witnessed.

Jennifer
exited out of the door to. She saw Connor sitting down with Betty crouched
beside him, her arm around him.

She
looked up when she saw Jennifer approaching.

“Is
everyone talking about Connor?” she asked.

“Yes,
I think they’re wondering what’s going on.”

Connor
looked up and his eyes were filled with tears.

“What’s
happened?”

“His
daddy’s got cancer,” said Betty. “He didn’t want to do this tonight, but I
foolishly forced him to, my mistake. Connor honey, just get it all out.”

Jennifer
perched herself down on the other side of Connor and put her arm around him. A
few people began drifting out and looking his way.

“Let’s
get you out of here,” said Jennifer.

Betty
and Jennifer walked Connor outside.

“You
want to go for ice cream?” asked Jennifer. He probably didn’t, but it might
diffuse his sadness. “Remember you asked me that when those kids bullied me and
I cried?”

Connor
finally smiled at her.

“I
think that’s a great idea. You go with Jennifer, and I’ll go back in there and
explain what happened.”

“Betty,
I don’t need a sympathy vote,” said Connor.

“I
know, but I think people will want to hear about your dad anyway. He’s as much
loved as you are around these parts.”

****

Connor
couldn’t believe that Jennifer had remembered what he’d said to her all those
years ago. Maybe she’d remembered the bullying bit and the rest was attached to
it. She had taken a lot of shit at school because of her weight and nerdy
appearance.

“You
wear contacts now, right?” he asked as they sat either side of the table at the
ice cream parlor.

“What
brought that up?” she asked.

“I
was thinking about the bullies.”

“And
when they knocked my glasses off with the snowball and stomped on them to break
them.”

“Little
shits.”

“And
you beat the shit out of those little shits. I’ve never forgotten that and you
walking me to the principal’s office because I couldn’t see where I was going.
You waited with me while they called my parents to bring me another pair of
glasses. And I don’t wear contacts. I had Lasik surgery.”

He’d
held her hand in the principal’s office and told her not to cry.

She
reached across and got hold of his hand as if she knew what he was recalling.

“Is
your dad’s cancer curable? If you don’t want to talk about you don’t have to.”

“It’s
okay. Yeah, I think it is. He’s going to have an operation and then he’ll have
chemo.”

“Then
that sounds like they know what they’re doing.”

“I
wanted to quit the sheriff’s race, but he wouldn’t hear of it.”

“I
think he’s right. Nothing will make your dad prouder than if you become
sheriff.”

He
guessed she was right. It would be something for him to look forward to,
something to aim for as November rolled around and he was probably in the
middle of his treatment.

“I
probably lost a few votes tonight.”

“I
don’t think so. It made you look human and vulnerable. Matt’s too perfect if
you know what I mean.”

Connor
knew exactly. The man didn’t make a wrong step, didn’t have a hair out of place
and no one was that perfect all the time. He squeezed her hand.

“Besides
ice cream I have something that will cheer you up, but it’s at my townhouse.”

Connor
smiled.

“No,
that’s not what I’m referring to.”

“Damn.”

He
laughed. She’d made him laugh.

“I
found some photos of Shaun Nolan and Jon Delaney from some old records I dug
through in Helena. They had a photo taken when they came out here and began
homesteading. It was a huge thing the year they arrived and lots of folks had
their photos taken next to their property.”

She
was right. That would cheer him up. He was anxious to see what they looked
like. What had attracted Sarah to both of them?

****

“It’s
not the clearest of shots, but I think it gives you a pretty good idea of what
they looked like,” said Jennifer, handing the photo to him.

Connor’s
heart beat faster as he looked at Shaun and Jon.
Tall and
handsome.
He could fully understand why Sarah had fallen for them. Which
one was his great, great, great grandfather? He looked from one man to the
next. Maybe he could see some resemblance to his dad in Jon. Or maybe Shaun’s
mouth was a bit like Katy’s.

“If
you had to pick which one I’m related to, which man would it
be
?”
he asked, turning the photo around to face her.

She
took it from him. Their fingers brushing one another, making his heart beat
quicken and his dick grow hard.

She
looked at the photo and then up at him. “I’d say there’s a little of Shaun in
you. You have similar eyes and nose to him.”

“So
I’m really Connor Nolan?”

“It’s
hard to say because you have other ancestors who have jumped into the mix for
three generations before the genes got to you.”

“You’re
pretty smart, aren’t you?”

“Logical
my dad would say. That’s a true Nealon quality and yes, we get that from granny
Nealon. I guess you know she was the driving force behind trying to rid
Grantsville of Sarah and her lovers.” She looked at the photo. “She was
probably jealous of her beauty and yes, you were right, she probably didn’t
have many suitors. Grandpa was probably the one and only
man
who ever fucked her.”

“Hey,
I really didn’t mean that.”

He
pulled her in close and kissed the top of her head.

“She
probably didn’t even like sex. I heard a lot of women didn’t because they were
scared of getting pregnant and losing their lives in childbirth.”

“Something
you don’t have to worry about because I have more raspberry scented condoms,”
said Connor.

“Um,
you sure know how to turn a girl on. That’s an offer I can hardly pass on.”

He
put his index finger under her chin and tilted it upward so her lips were at
the perfect angle for a kiss.

She
ground her body into his, sending his nerve endings on high alert.

They
pulled away.
“You going to take me fast and hard like the
other night?”

“No,
long and slow, and I want to see that body of yours.”

Chapter Eight

He
wasn’t kidding when he said about the long and slow bit. Could a guy kiss every
inch of your body?

Connor
had only reached her collar bone and she’d never been so turned on, so desperate
for a man to just get on with it and get inside her.

“You
smell so good,” he whispered as he nipped at her neck. He unsnapped her bra,
letting it fall onto the quilt on the bed. He leaned in and kissed her right
breast, quickly letting his tongue slid down until it found her nipple. He
pulled it gently through his lips before sucking on it.

Jennifer
lay back on the pillow, feeling a warm ripple of sheer bliss rush through her
veins. Connor sucked as she ran her fingers through his thick dark brown hair. He
switched to the other breast, teasing its nipple to the point where Jennifer
needed to groan just a little.

He
moved down to her belly, swirling his tongue around her navel, almost making
her want to giggle. She kept it under control as he pushed his hand down the
front of her panties, cupping her mound, making her wiggle her butt.

“I
think we need to free you of these constraints,” he said. She lifted her butt as
he slid them over her hips, down her legs, before finally pulling them off her
ankles. He kissed his way back up her legs, stopping at her knees and then
planting tiny kisses up and down her thighs.

Usually
she felt conscious of her curves, but Connor made her brazen and relaxed. He
ran his hands up and down her legs.

“Spread
them for me,” he said.

She
parted her legs, watching his face as he spied what was between them. He looked
up at her.

“You
are beautiful,” he said. He reached out and touched her folds, making her body
spasm, creating a special type of feeling that washed over her entire body, and
not just her pussy. His thumb was on her clit before she knew it. Circling it,
teasing it, and making it erect.

She
relaxed some more, enjoying the sensations running from her scalp all the way
to her toes. With a thumb as talented as Connor’s she knew it wouldn’t take her
long to succumb to its charm, and seconds later she was a quivering specimen of
a woman. One who groaned and closed her eyes as the climax washed over her.

He
fingered her folds before slipping one inside her. She thought back to when
she’d read Sarah’s journal and how both Shaun and Jon had excited her body and
brought it to life. Jennifer didn’t need two men to do that because Connor was
more than enough.

“You’re
so tight and wet…hot too.
Just how I like my women.
You going
to come again?”

“Try
me,” said Jennifer.

He
began finger fucking her, teasing her entrance, pulling his finger all the way
out like he was done with her, but then sliding it back in. She wiggled her
butt about to answer the question he’d posed. She was going to come and it was
going to be better than the time before.

Jennifer
gripped the quilt on the bed, ruffling it up in her fists as her body shook and
she exhaled the breath she’d been holding in.

By
the time she looked up, Connor was taking off his pants and boxers. She hadn’t
had the pleasure of seeing his cock the other night and she liked what she saw.
No wonder she’d come so fast and hard in the elevator. She smiled, wondering
who he’d inherited his dick from, Shaun or Jon?

“And
what are you grinning at, pretty lady?” he asked, slipping a condom over his
shaft. The aroma of raspberries filled the air.

“I’m
just admiring your member.”

“My member.
You mean the
raspberry flavored one?”

“That’s
the one.
You going
to fuck me rough and hard?”

“You
have such a dirty mouth. What would Granny Nealon say? Or maybe Granny liked it
that way too.”

“You
are a bad, bad boy, Connor Nolan-Delaney.”

“And
I’m about to show you how bad I can really be.”

****

Connor
was lost in the moment. Jennifer’s pussy was so damn delightful it was almost
as if he was dreaming this whole scenario. She’d made his mind feel right
again. His heart wasn’t so sad, and it wasn’t all down to the sex they were
enjoying. Although in all honesty it helped a hell of a lot too. He picked up
speed, feeling her wrap her legs around his hips, allowing him more access to
her. His cock slipped deeper, making her pussy spasm.

“Come
for me, baby, come for me,” he whispered close to her ear.

Jennifer
dug her nails into his biceps, crying out and biting her bottom lip as her
pussy grabbed him like it was made of iron. He was going to come too and very
soon. He heard his heart beating in his head. The blood rushed through his
veins and then he experiences the mother of all releases.

He
pumped her a few more times, letting her tight channel milk him some more. He
hadn’t had sex like that in a long time.

No,
that wasn’t true. He’d never had sex like that
ever
. Who would have believed the nerdy girl from his school was
the one to make him go cross eyed?
And a Nealon of all
things.

He
took some of his own weight but lay on top of her, staying inside her so they
could enjoy some post sex closeness.

“That
was wow, off the charts,” said Jennifer.

“Is
the smell of raspberries getting stronger or is my imagination?”

“I
think it is, but that’s the whole point because it’s sexual aromatherapy.”

They
burst out laughing.

“I
sort of like it,” said Jennifer. “You think you’ll be getting more from Katy’s
store?”

“Sure,
if I can use them with you.”

He
finally slid out of her and flipped over onto his back beside her. “What do you
think your granny would say if she could come back from the dead and find out
that Sarah’s offspring had been fucking you and that we weren’t married?”

Jennifer
flipped over and ran her hand down his belly. “She’d probably blame Sarah for
giving you horny genes and bad morals. She might even run you out of town.”

Connor
burst out laughing. “Thank you,” he said.

“For what?”

“For
making me forget my dad’s cancer for a while.”
