Chapter Seventeen

Simon

I hold Sadie’s hand on the way to her place. She doesn’t know it, but it’s because I don’t plan on seeing her again, and it’s painful to think of letting her go.

Talking to her all evening confirmed that she’s on a straight path to success. I feel I’m successful, but what she’s striving for is different. It’s day shift, picket fences and minivans.

I’m not that kind of guy. She deserves the whole package and only finds me intriguing because I’m different than what she’s known. She would come to her senses and be done with me soon enough, and I’m not sticking around for it.

“You’re quiet again,” she says as I help her out of the car.

“Tonight was perfect, Sadie.”

“But …”

I don’t say a word as I walk her to her door. I haven’t a clue how to do this. I usually have no trouble ditching a chick, but I don’t want to tell her goodbye, and I care about her feelings, which is a fucking first.

Cupping her cheeks, I kiss her wet lips, letting mine linger there to feel that tingle she gives and to breathe in her sweet scent.

“Goodnight, Sadie Hart.”

“Bye,” she says sadly. I start toward my vehicle, regretting it in an instant.

“Bacon!” she yells.

I come to a stop and smile as I turn around.

“Bacon.”

“My iPhone password. The numbers spell ‘bacon.’ I’d hate for you to spend a lifetime wondering.”

“Sadie,” I utter, losing my smile completely. It’s dark, but the streetlight outside of her apartment gives away her grin. She’s so fucking adorable it hurts.

I begin to walk away again. “I think I just fell a little harder for you, Sadie Hart,” I mumble. Hearing her gasp, I realize my words were said louder than I meant for them to be.

“I remember,” she says. I freeze for a moment and get the nerve to face her. “I remember the other night, Simon. You said you were falling for me then, too.”

I’m unsure of what to do, but I’m unable to leave, so I stroll back to her. “I remember something else. You said if I told you while I’m sober that I want to have sex with you, you would believe me.”

I can’t help but smile again as I slide a hand across the nape of my neck. “I did say that, too.”

Taking a step closer to me, Sadie kisses my lips.

“I’m sober, Simon, and I want you to stay.”

It takes only two seconds of staring into her soulful ocean eyes for my restraint to crumble.

“Fuck, you’re irresistible.” My lips slam against hers as I hold the back of her head with one hand and snake my other around her hip. Her firm little ass is in my hand, and I groan, imagining her pussy tightly sheathed around my cock. She’s going to be tight. I know it.

I hear her try to open the door from behind, so I take the key from her hand and shove it in the lock as fast as possible. “You’re mine tonight, sweetheart.”

She walks backward into the apartment, unbuttoning my vest as we move and slipping it off my shoulders. Her purse is dropped, and I grab her dress to pull it up over her head.

Seeing her standing in front of me in her white heels and matching lacy bra and panties, it’s all I can do not to take her against the wall beside us.

Our lips collide again, and she unbuttons my shirt. I yank it off and remove my pants and boxer briefs. She’s taking off her heels as I find a condom in my wallet.

“Don’t remove anything else. I want to do it.” I grab her by the hand and pull her to her own bedroom. “I told you; tonight you’re mine.”

Sadie

Simon tosses the condom on the bed and removes my bra in record time. I’ve had sex with three guys, and I think they could have explained the process of creating a bra faster than they could have removed one. Most guys in my field were lucky to get to first base before college.

Don’t get me wrong. There are hot, smart guys at grad school who are cool, but the ones I’ve gone out with were self-absorbed. Along with the three men I had sex with, there were a few more who got me to service them, and it was
all
about them.

My head falls back as Simon’s mouth skims down my neck and across my shoulder. His hands are palming my breasts, the pace and pressure just right.

“Fuck, your tits are amazing. So natural.”

He sails his mouth down to them and gives me a preview of how talented his tongue is, stiffening my nipples and creating a stinging sensation like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I moan and pull on his thick head of hair.

Gliding his wet, open mouth farther south, his strong arm wraps around my hips and lifts me enough for him to put me on my back in my bed.

He has one knee on it as he drags my panties down my legs. His thigh is flexed and toned like his abs, but it’s his long cock at attention that is occupying mine.

“You have seen one before, right?”

My finger goes to my mouth, and I feel the burn of embarrassment to my cheeks.

“Yes, but not one so, uh, long.”

His smirk becomes a megawatt grin.

“I think you’re trying to make it impossible for me to leave.” My panties fly across the room. Picking up my right leg, his mouth kisses the inside of my ankle and begins its trail upward.

“Mmm … I wonder how much scientist Sadie has analyzed oral sex. If I had to guess, I bet you prefer it slow and taunting over being eaten like dinner.”

My arm flies over my eyes to cover them, and I try to free my leg from his grip so I can snap them shut.

“Simon, you’re shameless.”

He only pulls my leg out farther as his free palm connects with the inside of my other knee, opening me wide. “Doll, there’s nothing to be ashamed of here, so tell me; was I right?”

I slide my arm up enough to take an embarrassing peek at him. “I wouldn’t know. It’s only been done to me once and not for much duration.”

Simon’s eyes look like they’re going to pop out of their orbits to the point it makes me giggle.

“What kind of douche bags do you run with?”

“The self-absorbed kind, remember?”

“Then I guess we have to conduct the experiment.”

“Simon,” I barely get out. My heart is racing, and my breaths are unsteady.

“Sadie,” he says before his nose skims the length of my inner thigh. He settles between my legs, and clutching my ass, he pulls me against his scorching mouth. “Let’s see which way you like it best.”

With fingers from both hands, he opens me up. I gasp as I feel the cool air. His tongue meets my clit on the first attempt, and I try not to dwell on how he learned this talent. I also try to jerk away from the sudden, intense intrusion.

He won’t allow it, and his tongue begins to flick. It’s barely touching me each time, but its precise execution is delivering immense pleasure.

He stops every few seconds, and I’m not trying to escape any longer. I grab his hair and moan, only wanting more. He twirls his tongue and then flicks, and I’m dying to feel some kind of release.

“Oh, my god, I’ve gotten a taste of the teasing and taunting, and it’s driving me mad.”

He chuckles. “Do we need to stop, so you can record data of this experiment? I’d hate for you to forget any details.”

“I couldn’t forget. Lord, please don’t stop.”

“Part two. Feasting on the pussy.”

“Simon!” I swat the top of his head and stifle a laugh.

His hands slip around to my ass again, and he brings me to his face. His tongue shoves into me, catching me off guard. He fucks me with it, creating another pleasurable but different sensation.

I’m moaning loudly, and he groans before his tongue goes back to my clit. He sucks on it, and I cry out. His mouth is now hard against me, his tongue stroking repeatedly.

Bumps cover my skin, and I shiver from the overwhelming buildup of sensations. As if he knows I’m there, he flicks his tongue, again and again, right on my clit.

It’s my undoing. I scream as my muscles contract, the pleasure swallowing me up.

“Fuck, I’ve got to be inside you now.”

I will my eyes open, and he’s rising to his knees. He picks up the condom he had tossed on the bed earlier and rips the package open with his teeth.

I’m mesmerized but intimidated by the confidence he possesses as he slides it right on. He knows exactly what he’s doing. My mouth falls open, and I suck in air when he strokes himself a couple of times.

Falling over, his hands come down, landing next to each side of my head. He kisses my forehead. “Ready, Sadie?”

I nod as I still struggle to regulate my breathing. He thrusts into me and stops. The veins on his neck are corded, the bluish-purple tint of them showing through the crimson of his skin.

Pulling back, he thrusts again, going deeper. He drops to his forearms and kisses my mouth. For the first time ever, I’m tasting my arousal.

“Sorry, but this is going to be quick. Your taste and the way you responded to me have me so fucking turned on.”

He drives into me and sets a pace. His eyes are locked with mine, and I’m discovering that even when Simon is doing something for himself, he manages to be thoughtful.

He lives in every single moment, and all of the times we’ve spent together have me falling hard for him. It not the “little harder” like he described about me.

No, I need Simon Cassano to feel like I’m living.

Chapter Eighteen

Sadie

Gnawing on my pencil, I realize I’m daydreaming again. I should be studying. I’ve been at the local coffee shop for an hour, but all I can do is think of Simon’s intense eyes as they stared down at me in my bed. My body heats from the thought of how he moved inside of me.

That was a few nights ago. Then, I think of him not being there when I awoke, and I feel nothing but sadness. I’ll never experience another date that amazing with any other man, yet I don’t know if any other man could hurt me the way Simon did by leaving that night.

My mind drifts off again to that morning…

I stretch my body as the sunlight casting into my bedroom wakes me. The events from the night before come to light in my mind, as well, so I abruptly open my eyes.

I’m in bed alone.

Wrapping the sheet around me, I pad out of my room. The bathroom door is open, and the living room is empty. So is my heart now.

My purse has been moved from the floor to the counter, so I go to it and pull out my phone. I have one text message.

Simon: Whenever you feel overlooked by a man, remember it is only because he knows he doesn’t deserve you.

I toss my phone across the counter and pull the sheet tighter around me. Heavy tears trail down my cheeks and pepper my arms. I hurry to my room and sob into my pillow. He really left for good.

“Damn, did your dog die or something?” a male’s voice asks. I lift my head up and see the creepy man from the strip club before me. He’s the guy who wanted my attention in Simon’s group.

“Uh, no, I’m studying.” I blink away the tears that have welled up in my eyes.

“Oh, man, you’re the girl from the club.” He’s pointing and grinning now. I look around, praying no one overhears.

“I’m Sadie, and I’d like to forget that experience.”

“I’m Noah, and I was right; you were a newbie. Simon should’ve taken better care of you. I would’ve made sure it was a night you never forgot.”

“I want to forget I ever attempted, um, that job, not the whole night.” I glance around the room again, but luckily everyone is either chatting it up with their tablemates or have earbuds in. I’m sure any second he’s going to call me a stripper.

“That’s too bad.” He leans his upper body over until his face is in front of mine. His eyes are so light they’re almost grey but not in an attractive way. There is something unkind to the unusual color.

“If you’re in need of some extra cash, we could work out something between us. You know, in a more private setting than the club.”

I know my chin needs to be picked up from the table. I give him a dirty look. “I’m not even going to dignify your proposition with an answer. No, actually, I do have one–fuck off.”

As his smile disappears, he squeezes the cleft of my chin between his thumb and finger hard, causing me to gasp.

“Don’t get self-righteous on me. If you think Simon Cassano is going to treat you like anything other than a cheap whore, then you need to remove these blinders.” He taps one lens of my glasses with his other hand.

My body is trembling, and I’m holding my breath when he smiles sardonically and releases me. I snatch up my stuff from the table and bolt out the door.

My hand shakes as I unlock my car. Peeling out of the parking lot, I look in my mirror for confirmation that I’m not being followed. That guy is scary as hell, and I pray I never see him again.

I did somewhat beg Simon to stay with me that night. Did I act like a whore? No, I didn’t, and he knew I never desired only sex. The last words I said to him were that I was falling for him fast and to let me.

I remember him kissing me on the forehead and saying OK. But it wasn’t OK. He didn’t mean it at all.
