Zak held the door open so that he and Jade could slip through. Zak parted company at the stairs, waving to them.

“I like how close everyone in the Coalition is,” Jade commented.

It was one of the first things he’d also noticed about the others. “Yeah, Cody, Zak and Jamie all came from the same police department and joined at the same time so I can understand them being close, but they’ve welcomed all of us in,” Luca said. He pulled open the door allowing Jade to exit first. He locked the knob before closing it behind him.

“No, they do have their specialties and own teams. Cody was a homicide detective so he still handles that. He had the biggest unit. Jamie only has two other guys on the bear team and Zak works with a partner,” he said.
