“Logan, come. I
want you to meet my—”

“Not right now,
Maddie.” His eyes made contact with mine, and he looked me up and down,
stopping to stare suggestively at my partially exposed bosom. “Nice dress,
Maddie. Very
classy
.” He laughed and
turned back to Lucy. “So, Lucy, tell me. Are you dating anyone?”

“No, no, no,” she
giggled. “I’m single. You?”

“Oh, I’m very
single and looking.” He leaned down to whisper in her ear suggestively. “You
know anyone who would be interested in going out with someone like me?” He
stood up straight and all four of us stared at him. He looked absolutely
gorgeous, his hair looked blonder than I remembered and it complimented his
golden tan nicely. His green eyes sparkled dangerously and he had a smug look
on his face as we stared at him. He was wearing a pair of khaki pants, with a
nice shirt and jacket, and all I wanted to do was go to him and touch his chest
and kiss him. But I knew that now wasn’t the time. I didn’t want my dad to see
me with Logan.

“I sure do.”
Joanna leaned towards him and winked. “In fact, my boyfriend and I broke up a
few weeks ago and I’ve been feeling horny as hell.”

“Joanna.” My voice
was loud and shocked. “That’s not appropriate.”

“Why not?” She
giggled and leaned into him. “He’s single and I’m single.”

“Logan and I
wanted to tell you something.” I smiled at them widely and walked over to him. “We
are actually …”

“I don’t think you
really want to say something you don’t mean, do you, Maddie?” Logan interrupted
me. “It’s funny how things change, isn’t it?”

“Logan.” I grabbed
his hand and frowned. “We need to talk.”

“Yeah, I guess we
do.” He glared at me, and we walked away from the other girls. I looked back
and saw them staring at us, and I gave them a quick smile.

“Can we go
upstairs and talk?” I pulled him to the side.

“Why can’t we talk
here?” He looked around the room with a deceptive smile. “Don’t you want
everyone to see us standing here?”

“Logan, please. I
don’t understand why you’re upset.”

“You don’t
understand why I’m upset?” He looked at me with slanted eyes. “I thought you
were different, Maddie. Out of everyone, I thought you were the one person I
could always count on to be proud of me.”

“What are you
talking about?”

“I guess I was
wrong.” His eyes hardened. “I suppose Jared was right all along.”

“Right about
what?” I shook my head, confused. “What’s going on, Logan? I don’t understand
why you’re so upset with me.”

“It doesn’t
matter.” He shook his head. “What the fuck ever, I was the idiot who thought
you were different.”

“Logan, I don’t
know why you’re upset.”

“I’m not upset.”
He smiled at me. “I have nothing to be upset about.”

“Are you sure?” I
bit my lip, unsure if things were really okay between us.

“Yeah.” He leaned
in towards me and kissed me on the lips quickly. “Let’s go upstairs.”

“What?” My lips
tingled from his brief touch and I looked up into his eyes.

“I said, let’s go
upstairs.”

“You want to
talk?”

“No.” He licked
his lips. “I don’t want to talk.”

“Oh.” I felt my
body tremble as he stared at me with unadulterated lust. “I don’t know.”

“I’ve missed you,”
he whispered in my ear. “You look fucking hot tonight, Maddie. I want to fuck
you while everyone is downstairs wondering where you are. I want to lift that
sexy dress up and have you screaming my name while you come for me, and then I
want to watch you come back downstairs smiling because you just had the best
fuck of your life.”

“I don’t know.” I
swallowed, incredibly turned on by his words.

“Let me show you
how much you mean to me.” He ran his hand through his hair and turned to look
around the room quickly. He spotted my father and then turned back to me with a
smile. “I’ve missed you this last week. I need to feel myself inside of you,
please, Maddie.”

“Okay,” I
whispered. “Let’s go.” I ran up the stairs quickly and heard Logan behind me.
As soon as we reached the top of the stairs, he pulled me towards him, and
kissed me, his mouth pressing down on mine hungrily, and I responded to him
just as passionately. “Let’s go in my room.” I grabbed his hand and pulled him
towards the room, and he shook his head.

“No, let’s go the
bathroom.” He grinned at me. “I want you bent over the bathtub.”

“Oh.” I blushed as
he fucked me with his eyes, and I pulled him to the bathroom a few doors away.
We hurried in and I made sure to push the door closed. As soon as we walked in,
Logan pushed me against the door, and I felt his hands on my breasts, caressing
them roughly. He pushed the straps of my dress down and pulled the front down
so he had access to my naked breasts. He bent down and took my nipple in his
mouth and bit down on it so hard that I cried out in pain and pleasure. He
nibbled lightly and I felt his hand on my other breast, rubbing my nipple
lightly. I put my hands through his hair and closed my eyes, groaning as I felt
the wetness in between my legs.

“I missed you,
Logan,” I moaned as he kissed his way back up to my lips. His eyes locked into
mine as he kissed me roughly and pushed his erection against me, crushing my
breasts against his chest. I reached under his shirt and ran my hands across
his stomach, relishing of the feel of his naked skin against my fingers. I then
ran my hands down to his pants and undid his button and unzipped him. I reached
my hand down into his pants and held his erection in my hands, delighting in
the feel of him growing as I squeezed it. He gasped as my fingers ran up and
down his shaft, and he looked down at me with a devious smile.

“Suck me.” His
voice was coarse as he commanded me.

“What?” I looked
up at him with a slight smile.

“Suck me.” He
raised an eyebrow at me, and I couldn’t read the expression in his eyes. I
kneeled down on the floor and took him into my mouth. I heard him groan as I
sucked on the tip of his hardness and licked along his shaft. I took as much of
him into my mouth as possible and moved my mouth back and forth on him as
quickly as possible. “Fuck, Maddie, I’m going to come,” he groaned as I
continued sucking him off. I looked up at him and smiled and he shuddered as he
came hard and fast into my mouth. I swallowed his cum quickly, relishing the
taste of him in my mouth. I laughed as I felt his cock hardening again after
his orgasm.

“You’re still
horny?” I stood up and he grinned at me.

“I’m never
satisfied until I hear you screaming out my name.” He winked at me and pushed
me towards the bathtub. “Bend over.” He bent me forward and I felt him lift my
dress up. I heard his intake of breath as he realized I had no panties on. “You
really are a bad girl, aren’t you, Maddie? You’ve been waiting for me to show
up all night so I could fuck you.”

“I…”

Shhh
.” He growled and I felt his fingers running across my
wet slit. “I don’t want to hear you saying anything until I hear you screaming
out my name.” I whimpered as I felt him slip a finger inside of me and I rested
my arms on the bathtub. I then felt the tip of him running up and down my slit,
and I tried to push myself back into him so he would finally enter me, and put
me out of my misery.

“Please.”

“What?” He growled
into my ear, as his tip teased me.

“Enter me,” I
whispered slowly.

“What? I can’t
hear you.”

“Fuck me, Logan,”
I groaned, unable to take the incredible pleasure he was giving me with his
fingers and manhood. “Please.”

“What?” He slipped
the tip of himself into me, and I moaned in relief but groaned as he withdrew
from me again.

“Fuck me, Logan,”
I cried out a little louder.

“What?” He started
to slide into me again.

“Fuck me, please!”
I cried out.

“What’s my name?”

“Logan,” I moaned.

“Tell me again.”

“Fuck me, Logan!”
I screamed as he slid into me fully. I felt him slide in and out of me quickly,
and he held onto my hips as he filled me up completely. He slowed his pace and
I moaned out, wanting to feel all of him again. “Don’t stop.”

“What?” He
growled.

“Don’t stop,
please.”

“Don’t stop what?”
He started to increase his pace again, and I was lost to the pressure building
up inside of me.

“Don’t stop
fucking me, Logan!” I screamed out as he intensified his pace. He slammed into
me and I cried out, not believing just how wonderful it felt to have him
filling me up. It was even more wonderful than I had remembered.

“Say it again.” He
paused for a second, and I moaned out. I was so close to orgasm that I couldn’t
stop myself from screaming.

“Don’t stop
fucking me, Logan!” I screamed out even louder this time, as I felt myself
climaxing. I looked around briefly to smile at him, and I was shocked to see
that he had opened the door. He stared back at me with a closed off look as he
orgasmed
into me, and I shuddered as he grabbed my breasts
and I felt him filling me up with his warmness.

“What the fuck?”
My dad’s voice boomed into the bathroom, and my eyes widened in shock as he
stared at the two of us in the bathroom. I froze and tried to stand up, but
Logan held my hips as he finished coming into me. He released me after a few
seconds and I stared at him in shock and anger. “Get off of my daughter, you
fucking piece of shit.” My dad walked into the bathroom, shouting. His fist was
up, as if he wanted to punch him.

“I was just
leaving anyways.” Logan stared at me. “I think I got what I came for.” He
smiled at me cruelly and walked out of the room. He paused for a moment and
looked back at me with cold eyes. “It was nice being friends with you, Maddie.”
And with that, he turned around and walked away.

Chapter 11

Logan

I walked down the
stairs slowly. I could feel the stares of everyone at the party on me and I
wondered if they had all heard Maddie screaming out my name. I kept my head
high and looked straight ahead. Fuck these people. They weren’t anything to me.
I couldn’t wait to leave this godforsaken town. They were all just as bad as
each other. Anger and sadness ran through my blood. How could Maddie have done
this to me? I was still in shock and disappointment that she had introduced me
as her
friend
. After everything that
had happened and everything she had said. She had told me that she was proud to
be dating me, that she was so excited for me to meet her family as her
boyfriend. It had taken a lot for her to convince me to even come. I was the
one who told her I didn’t think it was a good idea, but she had convinced me
that my ideas were antiquated and that her father would respect her opinion and
choice and that she wasn’t embarrassed about dating me.

I guess she had
lied. Jared had been right. I wasn’t good enough for her, and even she knew
that. I walked past Maddie’s mother, and she stared at me with shocked eyes and
a tight smile. I gave her a twisted face and walked out of the front door. As I
walked to the main street, I stopped and turned to look back at the familiar
house. It seemed so foreign to me now. I looked at the house and all I could
feel was pain inside, and this time it wasn’t the angry, bitter pain of my
father, but the sad, heartbreaking pain of despair and lost hope. As I walked
down the street, I realized that Maddie had used me. I had been her teenage
crush, and she had made that crush a reality. She had come onto me with
abandon, getting me to fuck her and fall in love with her and then she had
crushed me with no care. What did I matter to her? My feelings were just part
of the game. Now she could go back to school and tell all her stupid, spoiled
friends that she had a summer of fun, taming the town’s bad boy, and once she
got him, she left him.

I was a bigger
fool than I had ever thought I would be. I walked down the street and towards
the bus stop and shook my head at how eager and excited I had been to see
Maddie. The evening had started with me thinking that this was the start of my
new beginning and transition to a new life. Maddie had inspired me to become a
new man, and I wanted to prove myself to her. The fact that she had trusted me
and believed in me made me want to become a better man for her. I clutched the
necklace in my pocket and held onto it tightly. How could I have been so
stupid? My father was right: the mayor and his entire family weren’t to be
trusted. My head was spinning as I stood waiting for the bus. Maddie’s
rejection of me was hard to accept and I stared blindly into the lights of the
passing cars. I pulled the necklace out of my pocket and studied it, glad I
hadn’t given it to Maddie before I realized just how much of a liar she was.
The small dainty pearl shined up at me, and I held the necklace gingerly in my
hands. It had belonged to my mother. It was one of the only pieces she had
owned, and I had been planning on giving it to Maddie that evening as a token
of my love to her. I knew that she had been upset that I hadn’t told her what I
had been doing all week, and I knew that she had wanted to talk about what the
plan was when she went back to school. I was worried that she thought that I
didn’t care because I hadn’t been able to see her for the last week. We had
spoken on the phone every night, but I had been so tired most nights that I had
fallen asleep on the phone. I had wanted her to know that she was
my everything
, and that I wanted to be with her every night.
Everything I was doing was so that I could be a man who could provide for her,
a man she could be proud of and rely on. I wanted to be a better man for
Maddie, and I wanted to give her the most precious thing I owned to show her
that she was now the most precious thing in my life. But the joke was on me,
because it didn’t even matter. I didn’t matter. And now it was all over. I
could still see the look in her eyes as she realized I had opened the door and
her father had witnessed her screaming out my name as she
orgasmed
.
I don’t think I would ever forget. It was bittersweet, and I knew one person
that would be happy about what had happened. Jared would be exhilarated to hear
that we had finally gotten some revenge on the mayor. My heart constricted as I
realized that the revenge had been at the cost of Maddie and her self-respect,
but I tried not to think about that. She was the one who had played me. She had
hurt me more that she would ever know. And the pain she had inflicted on me had
turned me into a man I never wanted to be. I still couldn’t quite believe I had
concocted that plan so quickly and carried it out. It was as if I couldn’t help
myself. I couldn’t think past the blinding pain and hurt. I wanted her to see
how I felt.

I was happy to see
the bus arrive, and I got on, paid my fare, and sat down at the back of the
bus, vowing to never come to this part of town again. My days visiting Manor
Road were officially done forever. I never wanted to see that house again. It
was all part of the nightmare that I wanted to put behind me. I arrived home
about an hour later, and I was grateful to see that my father was asleep on the
couch for once. I ran up the stairs to my room and closed the door quickly
before Jared and Vincent realized I was back. I really wanted to go to my field
but I had no way to get there, and I didn’t want to take Vincent’s Mustang.

I lay on the bed
and turned on some music and I stared at the wall, wondering where it had all
gone wrong. Was I forever damned to a life of unhappiness? What had I done to
deserve this life? I wasn’t that bad of a person. I didn’t even want to be a
bad person. I just wanted to pursue my dreams like everyone. I wanted to love
and be loved. I wanted someone to look at me for me and not judge me because of
what they heard about me. Maddie’s face flashed in my mind; I had really
thought she was different, but when it all came down to it, she had been just
like all the rest. She had gotten to know the real me, I had opened up my home
to her, and yet it still wasn’t enough. I flinched as the scenes from the night
kept replaying in my mind. This wasn’t how our story was meant to end. I pulled
out my mother’s necklace again and placed it on my night table before turning
off my light and allowing the darkness to take me to a better place.

***

“Logan, you up?”
Vincent knocked on my door the next morning, and I groaned and rolled over,
keeping my eyes closed. “So, how was last night?”

Vinny
, I didn’t say I was up.” I glared at him. He was
staring at me with a worried expression, and I sat up in the bed. “What do you
want?” I snapped.

“Joey got the
call.” Vincent’s eyes were excited. “Tonight’s the night.”

“Tonight. Fuck.” I
jumped out of bed, unblinking. “We’re not ready.”

“We’re ready.”
Vincent’s voice was calm and sure. “We got this, bro.”

“Tolstoy hasn’t
gone through shutting off the alarm yet.”

“It’s the garage.”
Vincent shrugged. “Most garages aren’t connected to the alarm system.”

“We don’t want to
take that chance.” I pushed past him. “Where’s Jared?”

“He went to check
the mail.” Vincent followed me down the stairs. “The address is supposed to be
in a letter.”

“Are you fucking
joking?” I walked out the front door. “It’s in the mail?”

“Yeah, that’s how
they do it.” He shrugged. “We’re ready for this, Logan.”

“I don’t know.” I
shook my head and winced. I felt like shit, my head was pounding, and I was
filled with trepidation, sadness, anxiety, and anger. Not the best combination
for the biggest theft of my life. “I think we should drop it.”

“What?” Vincent
looked at me in shock. “What are you talking about?”

“I don’t think
this is a good idea.”

“Where is this
coming from?” Vincent looked at me thoughtfully. “What happened last night?
How’s Maddie?”

“It’s over with
Maddie.” My tone was final. I didn’t want to discuss it with anyone.

“It’s over?”
Vincent sighed and looked away as Jared approached us.

“What up, bros?”
Jared said excitedly and held up the letters in his hands. “Did
Vinny
tell you that today was the day? The day we become millionaires.”

“We need to talk,”
I snapped. “I don’t think this is a good idea anymore.”

“Why not?” Jared
looked at me like he thought I was crazy.

“Logan and Maddie
broke up.” Vincent made a face. I glared at him.

“What?” Jared
looked at me with a shocked expression. “How’d you guys break up?”

“You were right,”
my words were light. “I realized she was a bitch and so I got my revenge.”

“Oh my God,
Logan.” Jared looked worried.

“I don’t
wanna
talk about it. It’s done.” I clenched my fist. All I
wanted to do was punch the wall. I still couldn’t believe Maddie had done that
to me.

“Well, this is for
you.” Jared handed me a letter, and I looked at the envelope in irony. It was
from Maddie, and it looked like the invitation she had been going on about the
other night. I’m not sure why she felt she needed to send me a formal
invitation to a party that she had already been begging me to attend for a
week.

I was about to
throw it in the trash but decided to open it first. I guess I wanted to relive
the misery and memories of the night before. I ripped open the envelope and
pulled the invitation out. I rolled my eyes at the formality of it all; you
would think she was getting married, not just having a summer party. A dart of
pain flashed through me at the thought of Maddie getting married. I didn’t want
to think about her anymore. She’d find a nice guy now, one that Daddy approved
of. That would make them both happy. She’d find a guy who didn’t have issues
and had a lot of money. Someone in her class. I was about to rip the envelope
up when I saw a small post-it note stuck in the envelope. I pulled it out, and
the blood ran from my face as I read it. I dropped the invitation onto the
ground and read the post-it note again to make sure that I had understood it
correctly. As I read it again, time seemed to stand still, and I looked up at
Jared’s and Vincent’s faces in shock.

“I messed up.” I
stared at them and then the note. “She attached a note with the invitation. It
makes sense now. Oh my God, what did I do? She wrote a note.” I paused and read
from the paper. “
My darling Logan, I’m so
happy that you have agreed to come to my party and meet my friends and parents.
It means so much to me. I told my mom that we are dating, and she thinks that
we should wait to tell my dad about us the day after the party at lunch. She
thinks he will take it better in a more personal setting. I hope you understand
and will come to the lunch as well. I’m so excited for the two of you to get to
know each other. I know he will come to love you as I do. See you soon. Ever
yours, Maddie
.” I stopped reading and stared at my brothers unblinkingly.
“She thought I knew. I didn’t know. I didn’t know. I thought she was ashamed.”
I stood there frozen, with my stomach in knots. “I have to call her, I have to
explain.”

“I don’t know what
you’re talking about, Logan.” Jared looked at me with a frightened expression.
“What’s going on?”

“I have to go and
call her.” I walked out of the kitchen quickly.

“But we need to
talk about tonight,” Vincent called out after me.

“I have to call
Maddie!” I shouted down the stairs. “I have to fix this.” I ran into my room
and grabbed my phone and called her number with my heart pounding. I cussed as
the phone went to voicemail and tried calling back again. It went to voicemail
again and I left a message. “Maddie, it’s Logan. Please call me back. I fucked
up. I know that now. Please forgive me, please call me back. I love you. I
thought you were ashamed. I brought my mom’s necklace. Please call me back,” I
rambled on and hung up and called her number back again, but it kept ringing
and ringing and going to voicemail. What had I done? Had I just cost myself the
love of my life because I was so down on myself? Why had I listened to my
heart? I knew who Maddie was. I had been so hurt and quick to jump to
conclusions and wanting to shame her for hurting me. And I had been wrong. If I
had just listened to my rational mind and thoughts, I would have known that
Maddie would never use me, would never be embarrassed by me. She had risked
everything for me and for her feelings for me, and once again I had screwed it
up. I had fucked it up royally and I wasn’t sure if she would ever forgive me.
I knew that no matter how much someone loved you, there was a point of no
return. There was a point where the love didn’t matter anymore. That was a
point my mother had reached with my father. His behavior had been so
destructive that all she wanted to do was leave him. The love she had felt for
him had faded, and she hadn’t wanted to be with him anymore. She had wanted to
leave, only fate hadn’t been kind to her. I had let my mother down, and now I
had done the same thing to Maddie. I had to go to her. I had to explain. She
had to understand. I ran back down the stairs with my phone and into the kitchen.

“I need to borrow
the Mustang,” I charged up to
Vinny
. “Where are the
keys?”

“You can’t borrow
it right now.”
Vinny
shook his head.

“I have to go to
Maddie!” I yelled at him in anger.

“We need to go
pick up the rental car and get the tools at Lowe’s,” Jared interrupted me in a
hard tone. “You know we have to drive two hours away to get this stuff. We
don’t have time for you to go to Maddie.”
