Chapter
1

"How did
my life end up here?" I just sighed, sitting in my office and
oblivious to the stare being given to me by my best friend
Stacy.

She first looked at me like I was crazy and I
just rolled my eyes thinking, "Here we go again with the
lectures..."

"I heard that!" She snapped at me in my mind
then started lecturing me.

"Sonia Clemton how can you even say
that!"

"First you have your dream job being a
medical surgeon, you own a nice apartment and you’re an attractive
21 year old with whom men are always swooning at."

She paused for a minute then said

"Can't you see, you have the perfect life."
After saying those words, she left the room leaving those words
hanging in my mind.

"Perfect life my butt as unluckily for me
there was nothing called a perfect life." I thought to myself.
Every person in this world just had to have something wrong,
missing or even weird happening in their lives.

Unluckily for me, I had all those three
things happening in my life.

Let me demonstrate that theory for you.
Firstly what’s wrong was that I could not find love. I don't even
know how many men I had dated and I still could not find, you know
"the one".

I was that kind of woman whose was always
reading cheesy romance stories and still believed in fairy tales.
Worst of all, romantic charming fairytale princes did not
exist!

A girl could dream right because in the real
world not many would die for someone or love another person more
than themselves. That's because everybody was just selfish and put
themselves first including me.

Secondly the weird part in my life was that I
was born a super naturally powered being. If you don't believe me
ask my great great....... Grandma Sally. I remembered the day I
first discovered my powers while living with her as an 8 year
old.

Flashback.....

Sniff...sniff...sniff, "Sonia, where are you
my dear and are you crying?"

"I'm here grandma, under the table" replies
the 8 year old me.

"What's with all the tears my dear?" she
says while using her hand to wipe away my tears and puts me on her
lap.

"Grandma I can't tell you." the 8 year old
me answers.

"Why not, but you promised to tell me
anything remember." she responds.

"Promise you won't make fun of me." I ask
her and she nods her head while doing the pinky swear.

"Today in the morning while watching TV I
turned into...." I look at her as she gives me a nod to continue.
"A...cat."

After saying that I close my eyes while
waiting for her to laugh at me like the other kids did but I hear
nothing of that sort. No laughter or her making fun of me.

"I believe you." she says, causing me to
open my eyes and look at her.

"Why?" I ask her surprised she believed
me.

"Sonia for you to understand, let me tell
you a story."

"A long time ago your ancestors did an
honorable and heroic thing by saving a special tribe. The tribe
members rewarded them with a special gift for that."

"What was the special gift grandma?" I
interrupt her while she is still talking.

"The special gift was that in their
bloodline after every 1000 years that passed, if the first born
child was a girl she would inherit supernatural powers."

"So what am I supposed to understand
grandma?" I ask her confused.

"Silly girl, what I'm trying to say is that
you and me we are one of the girls who inherited the supernatural
powers of the gift."

"So you mean to say that I have powers."
Before she can respond I start blubbering.

"Can I fly like superman or make hot dogs
with heat vision like that guy from-"

Before I can finish she interrupts me.

"I don't really know because you have to
discover the powers yourself my dear.’’

"Grandma are you 1000 years old?" I then
blurt out before she finishes what she is saying.

"Aha finally I was still wondering when you
would catch up to that question. To answer your question, yes I'm
1008 years older than you."

End of flashback

That memory always put a smile on my face.
Sometimes I really thought of being supernaturally powered as a
curse when I thought of all my loved ones like my parents who died
20 years ago and my brother Phillip who died last week from old
age.

I know you're all thinking "How come is she
still 21 when her brother and parents died from old age." The
answer to that question was just really simple.

Just like my grandma, I was gifted with age
reversing. So what was missing in my life were my parents and my
brother Phillip.

Beside age reversing one of the powers I
discovered was the shape shifting power. This was a power by which
I could turn into any creature I've seen. I don't think I will
discover my other powers as I like to live an ordinary human
life.

Living that ordinary life was not easy as I
was always envying those people who found their true lovers and
lived a satisfied human life. Sometimes I thought I was going to
die a lonely grandma with 10 cats as her only companions.

This image made me shudder to think I could
die like that; then I remembered I have a shape shifting power
making me relax.

Suddenly someone burst through my office door
calling my name. I realized it was Mike, a male nurse who worked
here and was one of my friends.

I think he had a crush on me since I came to
work here but sorry for him as he was just a friend to me.

After I thought that a small voice scowled at
me, "That is why you’re going to end up lonely forever!"

"Sonia!" Mike called my name again as I
seemed distracted. I looked at him and he then told me breathing
heavily,

"There is an emergency in room W11 where some
old guy had a car accident and needs medical care quickly."

After hearing that news I quickly ran to room
W11 not knowing that this was going to be the start of a new
supernaturally beginning in my life.

Chapter 2

Outside the room W11 I found an old man
wrapped with a bandage on his forehead and being carried on a
stripper as he had come by ambulance.

I could not help thinking, "I've seen this
old man somewhere before but I just don't know where."

I guess you could call it De Javu. One of the
nurses handed me a report document which stated that the old man
banged his head on the steering wheel after hitting a tree.

The funny thing was that he hit a tree while
preventing himself from running down a pig in the road.

"What was a pig doing in the middle of the
road?" I asked one of the nurses. She just answered me saying "It
outran its owner." If the situation wasn't serious I would have
laughed myself to death.

I first told one of the ambulance guys to
bring the old man into the examining room.

As I started to remove the bandage around the
old man's head, I could feel him wince in pain so I gave him
painkillers to ease the pain.

A lot of blood started dripping from his
forehead then I saw a small crack on his head. I was not really
scarred of blood as I had been a surgeon for a really long time.
But the crack on his head meant he needed an operation which was
really dangerous and expensive to do.

I then noticed none of his relatives were
with him so I asked one of the receptionist "Were any of his
relatives notified about this?"

The guy just shook his head at me causing me
to mumble annoyedly, "Do I really need to do everything myself
here?"

I quickly asked the old man for anyone I
should call so he gave me his phone and said I should phone Jake
his grandson. He then fell into unconsciousness.

I searched in the old man's phone until I
found the name Jake and I quickly called the guy. The phone rang
for 5 seconds before the guy answered his phone.

"Hello." his deep voice answered softly
making my heart skip a pulse.

A small voice whispered in my head "Who is
this Jake guy and why is he effecting me just by his phone voice?"
I quickly ignored that small voice thinking, "Oh its nothing."

I told Jake about his grandfather. I gave him
all the details about where the hospital was and about the
operation. He agreed I should do the operation and said he was
coming over there as soon as possible.

His last words on the phone made me feel
sorry for him as he said,

"Please make sure he makes it and I promise
to be forever be grateful." his voice said this pleading and
desperately.

I quickly ran and changed into my operating
clothes then I called my operating team and we got started in room
W11. It took us 6 hours to finally finish the surgery.

My palms were already sweating by then and my
stomach was already screaming for food by rumbling since I did not
eat anything since morning. That's what I get for being a surgeon
but I loved my job any ways.

I went outside ready to tell Jake of the old
man whether he made it or not. But when I went to meet him I was
shocked by what I saw.

I was surprised to see about 27 people all
waiting to hear about the old man. Wow I thought to myself this old
man was really lucky to have so many family members who loved him;
at least he would not die alone.

What really shocked me the most was the
person in front of me as he is what you would call a deadly
gorgeous beauty? His eyes had a mesmerizing turquoise blue color
and his hair had a dark raven black color and was done in a neat
looking cut which made him look more attractive.

His was wearing designer clothes which make
him look like a superstar celebrity cost a fortune. The shirt he
was wearing was a little transparent that if I looked closer I
could see his six packs or should I say twelve packs which I wanted
to run through with my hands as his built was incredible.

His posture was also so flawless making him
look like a prince. His skin was a little bit pale but the lips
made up for that. I found myself thinking how it would feel to kiss
those gorgeous lips and believe me this guy looked like he was the
world's next top gorgeous Prince Model.

He started talking but all I could hear was
his voice not the words. Damn his voice was so alluring and I
thought, if he asked me to jump off a bridge I would do it whole
heartily.

This was so strange as I had never felt like
this for any man in my life and my heart was beating like
crazy.

I could already hear the song Can You Feel
the Love from lion king playing in my head. I wanted to reply "yes"
to the song thirty times if I had to because hell I couldn't deny
the feelings I was feeling for this guy. I was in love...Ok maybe
I'm exaggerating a bit on the love part but I was really very
attracted to this deadly gorgeous beauty.

And why the heck, did I have to meet him at
the moment where I wore my ugly looking doctor uniform, I then
thought while looking down at the long white coat I was wearing.
But then again I was at work, not at a fashion show.

I then saw him look at me expectedly while I
was back to busy checking him out and that's when I realize he was
asking me something. I also noticed the smirk looks on some of the
old man's visitors who stared at me, making me think did they just
see my go ogling mode at this guy.

My cheeks turned bright red from
embarrassment then I pulled myself together and listened to how the
guy was asking about his grandfather.
