“You’re mine, Alicia. I’m never letting you go,” Brad whispered.

Tears welled and ran down her cheeks. She was so in love with him her emotions rendered her momentarily speechless. All the stupid, logistical details which had seemed daunting mere hours before simply melted away. Alicia had no doubt they would work through them together.

She glanced to her left when a faint rustling noise caught her attention. Brad lifted up on his elbows, and they both glanced toward the door.

“Treat her right, Brad. She’s one hell of a special lady.” Tom walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

“I feel bad, him leaving like that,” Ali said after Brad rolled onto his side and settled her within the warmth of his embrace.

“Not me. I appreciate his good judgment. I’m more than ready to have you all to myself.”

“You don’t think it’s a bit selfish?”

“I allowed him to pleasure the woman I love; sounds more like generosity to me.”

Ali stared at him, as her heart beat wildly.

“Yes, Alicia, I said I love you. I don’t care we’ve only been together a few weeks. That’s how I feel and you need to know it.”

Despite the determination in his tone, Ali recognized vulnerability in his eyes. She rested her hand on his cheek.

“I know how important honesty is to you,” she said with a broad smile. “I love you, too, Brad, with all my heart.”
