“I know,” Rick said with a sigh. “At least it’s common for Cam to visit my personal quarters. We’ll just have to make sure he doesn’t stay too late.”

Aaron hated that Rick took the chances he did, but he knew how much the two men loved each other. “Promise me you’ll be careful? The last thing you need is a story to leak about your relationship with Cameron.”

“Don’t worry about me. I’ve spent my entire adult life being careful. That’s why I’ve made sure Patton and Stanley are on duty Saturday night. Even if the two of them were to accidently see something, it wouldn’t go any further. They’re both in the same boat, trying to keep their personal lives a secret from Wetherby.”

“I didn’t think Benjamin was a homophobe.” Aaron remembered Wetherby standing up for Gray when the initial accusations about him came out.

“I don’t think he is, but I know from listening to some of his men that he’s put the fear of God into them about keeping their mouths shut as far as their sexual preferences go. The last thing Wetherby wants is another incident like Gray’s.”

Aaron hoped Rick was right. “I’ll go call Gray and head over to speak to Broomfield.

Do you happen to know if he’s here today or across the street?”

Rick shrugged and shook his head.

“That’s okay. I’ll find him.” Aaron left the office and stopped at Janice’s desk. “The President is having a private dinner party for eight on Saturday night. Do you happen to have one of the forms I need to fill out for the kitchen?”

Janice shook her head. “I can call and get some, but I don’t have them. Usually the First Lady’s Office takes care of that.”

“Fair enough. I’ll call them myself. Thanks.”

Aaron stepped outside and called Gray. To say he was nervous about inviting his new boyfriend to the White House would be an understatement. Aaron just hoped Rick knew what he was doing.

“Hey,” Gray answered. “Everything okay?”

“That depends.” Aaron nodded at one of the Secret Service guys that stood outside the Oval Office window.

“On?”

“Rick would like the two of us to have dinner with him Saturday night in his private dining room. Before you answer, you should also know he’s inviting Broomfield.”

“Broomfield,” Gray growled. “What the hell is going on?”

“I’ll tell you more at lunch. For now, just think about it. I’m on my way over to Broomfield’s office to deliver a personal invitation.”

“What’re you up to?” Gray asked.

“Just thought I’d nose around a bit since there’s no one else who can do it,” Aaron admitted.

“I don’t like it.”

Aaron smiled. Gray’s protective personality came through loud and clear. Aaron couldn’t think of a time in his life when he’d felt protected. “I’ll be okay. I’m not a fool. I promise not to come right out and ask the questions I really want the answers to.”

“Please be careful. I’ve already started to get used to you being around.”

“I like you, too. I’ll see you at one.” Aaron hung up and shoved his phone in his pocket.

He tapped his fingers on the desk. His plan was going even better than he’d hoped. “I need you to meet me at our normal place tomorrow night at eleven.”

“So soon? You must really be needing. I don’t normally hear from you but once a month.”

“Will you be there or not? I can always find someone else,” he growled. He couldn’t believe the stupid shit had the nerve to question him, especially now that they were so close to reaching their goal.

“I’ll be there. You know I’d never turn down a ride on that big dick of yours. Besides, word in the club is that you’re even kinkier these days.”

He rolled his eyes. Yes, it was definitely time to get rid of a potential problem. “Just be there and make sure no one follows you.”

Aaron rounded the corner and strode towards Broomfield’s west wing office when he noticed a flushed Cameron exiting the Vice President’s office. “Are you okay?”

Cameron straightened his suit jacket. “I’m fine.”

Before Aaron could say anything else, Cameron strode past him back towards his own office. Aaron scratched his jaw as he continued to Broomfield’s secretary’s office. “Hi, Mrs.

Scott. I have a private message from the President. Is the Vice President available for a few minutes?”

“Hang on, sweetie.” Mrs. Scott picked up the phone and spoke too softly for Aaron to hear. “He can see you, but he has a staff meeting in ten minutes.”

“I’ll only need about two. Thanks.” Aaron entered Broomfield’s office. Like Cameron, Daniel Broomfield appeared flushed and a touch out of sorts.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but Rick wanted me to invite you and your lovely wife to a private dinner Saturday night. He said there would only be eight people total, so informal dress.”

“Saturday?” Broomfield threw up his hands in disgust.

It was considered a breach of etiquette to turn down a dinner invitation from the President of the United States and Broomfield knew it. Aaron waited patiently, his hands clasped in front of him. “Yes, sir, unless of course you have something more important to do.”

Aaron tried to hide his grin as Broomfield grumbled. “I’ll be there. What time?”

“Seven for cocktails. Dinner’s at eight.”

The Vice President nodded.

Aaron licked his lips, his nerves starting to kick in. “Did you know that kid who was murdered last night, Jeremy Loveland?”

“Lovell,” Broomfield automatically corrected Aaron.

“Oh, right, Lovell.” Aaron smiled to himself before walking out of the office.

Aaron groaned as Gray cleaned him up with a warm washcloth. “Keep that up and I’ll be horny all over again.”

Gray tossed the cloth to the floor and reached for the pack of cigarettes beside the bed.

“Do you mind?”

Aaron shook his head and let his fingers trail through the thick hair on Gray’s chest.

The two dogs he’d met earlier were whining just beyond the closed door. “Am I going to be in trouble with your pups?”

When Aaron’s hand wandered down to play with Gray’s drained sac, Gray spread his legs and lit his cigarette. “Naw. They’re just spoiled. They like having Daddy all to themselves.”

Aaron rolled over to insinuate himself between Gray’s thighs. He used the tip of his tongue to tickle the length of Gray’s flaccid cock. Even soft, Gray’s dick was incredibly impressive. “I hope they get used to sharing.”

Gray blew out a lungful of smoke. “Me, too. They haven’t really had to before you came along, but I’m hoping they’ll get used to you sleeping in my bed instead of them.”

Rubbing his lips across the bulbous head, Aaron captured the spongy tip in his mouth.

He had no illusions of Gray getting hard again so soon after an amazing fuck, but he was quickly becoming addicted to the taste and feel of the gorgeous cock in his mouth and ass.

Gray had surprised Aaron earlier by, literally, blowing smoke up his ass. It was the thought more than the act that had turned him on like few things ever had. Aaron came almost immediately, moaning Gray’s name.

Aaron released Gray’s cock. “Can I ask you something?”

“Anything,” Gray answered, blowing smoke in Aaron’s face.

“Do you think I’m weird? Sexually, I mean.”

“Because of this?” Gray asked, holding up the cigarette.

“Yeah. I didn’t even know I had these urges until you came along, but I find myself really getting turned on by it.”

Gray smiled down at him. “Everyone has something that turns them on. For some it’s feet, or hairy chests, or big breasted women. For you it’s cigarettes. Doesn’t make you a pervert, just honest.”

“What turns you on?” Aaron asked.

“You.”

Aaron felt the blush work up his neck. “I mean specifically?”

“What you’re doing now. The way you like to touch and play with my cock turns me on. It doesn’t seem to matter what I’m doing during the day, I can always picture you between my legs sucking me off.”

“I’ll have to visit you at your office someday soon.”

“I’d love that.” Gray put his cigarette out and pulled Aaron up until they were nose to nose. He sealed his mouth over Aaron’s and blew the last smoke of his cigarette into Aaron’s lungs.

Aaron groaned and began to grind his ass against Gray’s cock.

“Why’d you quit smoking?” Gray asked.

Aaron hesitated to tell Gray the real reason. “I have asthma. The last time I had an attack bad enough to go to the emergency room, I promised myself I’d never pick up another cigarette.”

Gray’s eyes rounded. “Why didn’t you tell me that earlier? I wouldn’t have done what I’ve been doing if I’d known.”

“Exactly.” Aaron leant down and gave Gray another deep kiss. “So far I haven’t had any trouble with my asthma, and I’ve been enjoying myself immensely.”

Gray shook his head. “I won’t do something that puts you in danger. Whether you enjoy it or not, I’ll try not to smoke around you anymore. Hell, maybe I’ll just give it up.”

“No,” Aaron said. “I don’t want you to do either of those things. You’re a smoker. I remember what it was like to not smoke when I wanted. I would never ask you to do that.

Before I know it, you’ll think of excuses not to spend time with me.” Aaron shook his head.

“No. Just no.”

Gray wrapped his arms around Aaron and rolled them until he was on top. “I know we’ve just started dating, but you’re extremely important to me. I understand what you’re saying. Hell, I’ve had other lovers that wouldn’t allow me to smoke around them, and you’re ANARCHY IN BLOOD

right, I did end up making excuses to cut our dates short. But that won’t happen with you. I promise.”

Aaron continued to shake his head. “If the smoke becomes a problem, I promise to tell you. Until then, let’s just keep things the way they are. Please.”

Gray’s big brown eyes stared down at Aaron. “You know, I’ve never even considered quitting for a lover before, but you’re quickly becoming more than that to me.”

Aaron pulled Gray down for a kiss. He tried to put all his new-found feelings into each swipe of his tongue. He didn’t believe he was truly in love yet, but he knew it wouldn’t take much longer for him to fall for the gorgeous man with the big heart and even bigger cock.

Chapter Six

Gray stepped away from Aaron, breaking their embrace. Aaron followed after, murmuring softly in protest. He grinned, but didn’t start another kiss.

“Sorry, but we both need to get to work.” He climbed out of bed and stretched, back popping as he twisted and turned.

Aaron pushed up to lean against the headboard. He folded his arms and pouted a little.

“I was looking forward to taking care of your morning wood.”

“If you weren’t going to be late for your meeting, I’d take you up on that offer.” Gray reached out and pinched Aaron’s nipple. “You know I’d take fucking you over pretty much anything else.”

Sighing, Aaron nodded. “You’re right.”

He offered his hand to help Aaron out of bed and they wandered into the bathroom where they took a quick shower. After dressing, they grabbed some coffee and headed out to Gray’s car.

Driving towards the White House, Gray said, “Why don’t you plan on staying Saturday night after the dinner party? We can sleep in, have brunch and hang out all day on Sunday.”

“Sounds great to me.” Aaron rested his hand on Gray’s thigh. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

There were a lot of things he didn’t like talking about, but for Aaron, he’d fight past the walls he’d built around his heart.

“Where did you get those scars on your hip and leg? You were never shot in the line of duty, were you?”

He shook his head. “No. I got them while I was in the army. I actually ended up injured during a training exercise and got discharged because of them.”

“Were you upset that you had to leave the military?” Aaron’s question was soft.

At least, Aaron didn’t question the bullshit about a training exercise. It was still classified and would probably stay that way until after Gray died.

“I hated leaving the guys in my unit behind. They went on to be part of the group that went into Somalia and got slaughtered for their trouble. It pissed me off that I couldn’t be there to help them. I wasn’t discharged at the time, but I was injured and stuck on desk duty.” He gestured in the direction of Arlington National Cemetery. “I go and visit with them once a month.”

Aaron squeezed Gray’s arm. “I’m sorry. That’s got to be tough.”

“It used to be the most difficult thing I ever did. I’d go visit them and then go to the nearest bar to drink myself into oblivion. The guilt is partly responsible for my alcoholism, though I’m quite willing to accept that I could have made better choices in dealing with it.”

He pulled up to the kerb just down from the entrance to the White House complex. “Call me if you have time for lunch today. If not, let me know when you’re ready to head home, and I’ll come to get you. I’ll go grab some clothes at some point today and change when I get to your house for the dinner tonight.”

“I can get myself home without trouble.” Aaron met him with a smirk.

“I know, but humour me. As long as good-looking blond men are dying, I’ll be keeping an eye on your sexy ass. I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you.”

Aaron’s gaze softened and he leaned over to brush a quick kiss over Gray’s lips. “I’ll call you.”

Gray waited until he made sure Aaron walked into the building before he pulled back into traffic and drove over to his office. Gathering his briefcase and coffee mug, he headed up. Ruth greeted him with a refill for his mug and several files.

“These came from New York, sir.”

The files Bobby promised him. After taking them, he managed to juggle everything and got it all to his desk before dropping any of it. He hung up his jacket, set his briefcase down, and buzzed Kaplan.
