Gray’s thumb wiped away the tear that rolled down Aaron’s cheek. “Don’t do this, Aaron. None of it was your fault. Rick was sick.”

Aaron’s memories started to return. Who was that man who’d exposed himself on the White House lawn?
Fuck. I kissed him. I wanted him more than I’d ever wanted anyone.
Were those the actions of someone in love?

Gray tried to turn Aaron’s face back towards him, but Aaron fought the action. How could he look at Gray knowing what he’d done? He would have to eventually tell Gray the truth, but not now, not here. “Take me home,” he finally mumbled.

“Okay. I’ll see what I can do. There are people who need to talk to you though. Both the FBI and Wetherby need your statement.”

Aaron nodded. The timeframe on his confession had just been moved up. “Not here.

Not today.”

Gray kissed Aaron’s cheek. “It’s a new day. You’ve slept the night away. I don’t think I can put them off much longer.”

“Later then.” Aaron swallowed, his throat was still sore and he managed to reach out and grab the glass of water, taking a few more sips. He chanced a glance at Gray. “I need to talk to you first.”

Gray stood and gazed down at Aaron. “I’ll go find your doctor and see if I can spring you outta this place.”

Aaron watched Gray leave the room. He’d seen the concern in Gray’s eyes. He just hoped Gray still cared once he learned the truth of what had happened in that damn secret room.

By the time they reached Gray’s house, physically, Aaron felt one hundred percent better. The ice chips and orange freeze pop had gone a long way in soothing his throat.

Aaron settled on the couch with a blanket and Butch. Kid was curled up in front of the fireplace while Gray made Aaron a cup of warm Jello. He’d tried to get Gray to take him back to his apartment, but Gray wouldn’t have it. Gray insisted on keeping him close. Aaron didn’t argue, figuring what needed to be discussed would make Gray’s decision for him, no matter their location.

“Be careful. It’s still a little too hot.” Gray handed Aaron the mug before tapping Butch.

“Get up, boy. You’ve got my spot.”

Butch let out a displeased grunt and joined Kid in front of the hearth.

Aaron brought the cobalt blue cup to his lips and stopped. It didn’t matter that he could smell the strong cherry scent of the Jello. The colour was enough to make his stomach lurch in protest.

Gray quickly took the mug from Aaron’s shaking hands. “You okay?”

“Red,” Aaron said simply.

“Shit. I’m sorry. I didn’t even think of that.” Instead of simply placing the cup on the table, Gray stood and carried it to the kitchen. “I don’t have any other flavour. Would you like a cup of hot tea?”

“Sure.” Aaron slipped his hands under the blanket and rubbed his stomach, hoping the queasiness would dissipate. In the past twenty-four hours his life had been turned upside down. Hell, he didn’t even have a job anymore. According to Gray, a lot of people were suddenly out of jobs.

Cameron James was singing like a canary, ruining families and political careers right and left. Aaron’s hand moved up to rub at his chest. The betrayal of the people closest to him hurt more than anything. Sure, he could find another job, and maybe if he was lucky, Gray would eventually forgive him, but finding out his own mother had betrayed him wasn’t an easy pill to swallow. He’d refused to see or speak to her even though she’d called Gray’s phone steadily since she’d been turned away at the hospital.

It was obvious Gray was confused as to why Aaron didn’t want to see his own mother when she’d shown up. Aaron had simply informed Gray that, in his heart, he no longer had a mother.

“Here you go. Try this.” Gray handed over the tea before lifting Aaron’s legs and taking a seat. He draped Aaron’s legs over his lap and made sure he was fully covered.

“Thanks.” The tea was too hot to drink, but Aaron needed to stall for a few more seconds. He took a tentative sip and winced as the hot liquid scalded his tongue.

Gray chuckled. “Told you it was hot.”

“Should’ve listened.” Aaron reached over to the nearby coffee table and set the cup down. “I need to talk to you about what happened.”

Gray nodded, laying a supportive hand on Aaron’s thigh. “Okay.”

Aaron started from the beginning. He told Gray about having a glass of wine with Rick, Cameron and Nathan before leaving work the previous evening. When he reached the part where Rick came outside and found him, Aaron watched Gray closely. “I kissed him. I don’t know why, but I wanted him to fuck me and told him as much.”

“It was the wine,” Gray said, cutting in.

Aaron shook his head. “I wasn’t drunk.”

“No, that’s not what I meant. Cameron told Wetherby that Rick put something in your wine. I guess Cameron saw Rick take a small flask out of his breast pocket and pour a small amount of whatever it was into the glass.”

Aaron remembered the flask. “Rick called it holy wine. He made me drink more of it in the secret room. What was it?”

Gray slipped his hand under the blanket and began to lightly rub Aaron’s thigh. “The same stuff Bobby talked about in the report he sent. Wine that Radu cel Frumos, son of Vlad II Dracul, had made from the blood of his murdered brother and father. I guess the wine makes those who drink it blood thirsty. Radu is responsible for using it to drive his brother, Vlad Dracul III, insane.”

“And you think it was the same stuff Rick gave me?”

“I do. The hospital lab took a sample of your blood and of your stomach contents to test. We might not know for another day or so, but I’m sure they’ll find traces of whatever’s in that flask.”

“And my blood? Are they merely testing it for the wine, or will they use it to prove Rick was my biological father?”

“Both, I would imagine. Your relationship with the ex-President will become important in the months to come. Especially if it turns out Rick is actually of the Dracul bloodline like Cameron told Wetherby.” Gray stilled and threw his head back on the couch. “Shit. That’s why you refused to see your mother, isn’t it? I should’ve connected the dots. I was just so concerned for your health, I didn’t think things through.”

“She lied to me. According to Rick, she knew exactly who he was when she allowed him to impregnate her. Some kind of deal between her family and his. I’m confident you’ll find out her side of the family, the Chevaliers, were also Knights of Paiderastia. So not only am I possibly a bastard, but a blood thirsty Dracul. Quite a family you’ve gotten yourself involved in.”

“Don’t.” Gray leant over and kissed Aaron before drawing back. “You are not your parents.”

Gray confused Aaron. Here Aaron had just told him he had come onto his own father, was a product of a deal struck between two powerful families and most likely a Dracul. Yet Gray seemed to take everything in stride.

“Why’re you being so nice to me about all this? You should be running away screaming by now.”

Gray removed the back cushions of the sofa and wedged his large frame in to lie next to Aaron. “Because none of it is or was your fault, and because I love you.”

Gray’s hand began unfastening Aaron’s pants. “I want to make love to you.”

Aaron nodded and lifted his hips. “I’d like that.”

Naked from the waist down, Aaron dropped one leg to the floor as Gray’s hand began to explore. They still had a lot to talk about, but Aaron figured they both deserved a break.

He moaned when Gray’s fingers wrapped around his cock.

The noise drew Kid and Butch’s attention. Before he could pull his head back, both dogs were there, licking him. “Yuck.” Aaron wiped his cheek. “Maybe we should take this into the other room?”

Gray narrowed his eyes at the dogs. “Guess you’re right.” He shook his finger at the dogs. “No kissing my man.”

* * * *

Gray swept Aaron into his arms and carried him to the bedroom, kicking the door closed in the dogs’ faces. No way would he allow them to interrupt this moment. He had the feeling Aaron needed him to love him. It was the best way to start the healing of Aaron’s heart and soul.

He set Aaron on his feet, but didn’t let the younger man move away. Unbuttoning Aaron’s dress shirt, he smiled down at his lover.

“I know my telling you this won’t fix anything, but I’m going to keep saying it until you accept it.” Gray pushed the fabric off Aaron’s shoulder. “None of this was your fault. Rick and your mother are the ones to blame for all of it.”

Pressing his fingers to Aaron’s lips, he shook his head. “No. I don’t want anything except moans and groans coming out of your mouth while I make you a happy man.”

Aaron climbed on the bed as Gray dug through the nightstand to find the lube and condoms. When he turned around, he stared at the sight of Aaron sprawled across the mattress, stroking his cock and grinning at him. He stripped before tossing the stuff on the bed and crawling between Aaron’s legs until Aaron’s prick was inches away from his mouth.

“Gray,” Aaron moaned as Gray licked a line from Aaron’s balls to the flared head.

He swirled his tongue around the spongy glans, savouring the flavour of Aaron’s pre-cum. Using the tip of his tongue, Gray teased the slit in the head, pressing in slightly. Aaron arched off the bed, his hands fisted in the sheets. Gray grinned before swallowing the entire length, burying his nose in the curls surrounding the base of Aaron’s shaft.

“Oh my God,” Aaron cried out, muscles tense as he tried to keep from thrusting.

Gray tapped Aaron’s hip, giving him the signal that it was okay to move. He kept the suction hard, but made sure his teeth were covered. He didn’t want to cause his lover any more pain than the man had experienced over the last day or so.

Aaron buried his fingers in Gray’s hair, holding his head still so he could fuck his mouth and Gray didn’t fight. Slipping two fingers in his mouth alongside Aaron’s cock, he got them good and wet before pulling them out.

He hummed as the head of Aaron’s cock hit the back of his throat. As he did that, he breached Aaron’s ass with his fingers. Within seconds, Aaron rocked between Gray’s mouth and his fingers. Gray drove Aaron higher and higher, trying to hit his gland with every thrust.

“Gray.”

Aaron threw his head back and flooded Gray’s mouth with bitter saltiness. Gray swallowed, drinking from Aaron’s dick like a thirsty man at an oasis. He continued sucking and stretching Aaron’s ass until Aaron dropped back on to the bed and sighed.

A soft pat to his head brought his gaze up to where Aaron stared down at him. He raised his eyebrows in silent question.

“Please. Need to feel you.”

He cleaned Aaron before pulling off. A fast search revealed where the lube and condoms had slipped under one of the pillows. After putting the rubber on, he popped the top and squirted some slick on his palm before throwing the bottle over the edge of the bed.

He’d worry about where it landed later.

Aaron wrapped his hands behind his knees and pulled his legs up to his chest, spreading them. Gray stopped for a moment, burning the image of Aaron’s beautiful body offered up to him. He trailed one hand over Aaron’s chest down to his cock which he gave a good hard pump.

Gray lifted Aaron’s legs over his arms and positioned his cock at Aaron’s entrance. He met Aaron’s gaze and didn’t let it go until he was buried balls deep in his lover. He fell forward, holding his mouth a few inches away from Aaron’s.

“I love you, Aaron Baker. I don’t care about your family or who they might have been.

What you did doesn’t change one atom of how much you mean to me. I’ll tell you that every minute of every day, if that’s what you need, because I can’t imagine my life without you.”

He frowned. “I won’t live without you.”

The shine of tears in Aaron’s eyes told Gray his lover understood exactly what he was saying. They started moving together, the intimate dance he’d come to crave. He slid his hands under Aaron’s hips, lifting them up to get just the right angle. He wanted Aaron to come again, only this time he wanted to feel Aaron’s climax grip his dick as he slammed into the man.

Their grunts filled the air around them. Sweat rolled down Gray’s face, dripping onto Aaron’s chest. Aaron’s cock stiffened as Gray nailed his gland with every stroke in. Rolling his head from side to side, Aaron whimpered and Gray moved faster.

“Gray, I…” Aaron’s voice cut off as he came again, not as hard as before, but still another climax washed through him.

The vice-like grip of Aaron’s inner channel coaxed Gray closer to the edge. The massage of those same muscles encouraged Gray’s cum from his cock to spill into Aaron, marking the man as his. He pumped his hips until every last drop was gone.

He collapsed on top of Aaron, knowing he should move, but all his strength was gone at the moment. Aaron didn’t protest, just embraced him and held him tight until he was ready to roll to one side.

Their matching moans mingled as Gray’s soft cock slid from Aaron. Gray managed to take care of the condom and got them both cleaned up. He spooned with Aaron, resting his arm over Aaron’s waist and pulling him close, back to chest.

Gray nuzzled the nape of Aaron’s neck. “Sleep, honey. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

“I love you, Gray.”

“I know, and whatever comes, we’ll get through this together.”

He listened to Aaron’s breathing slow, and his heart beat calm. Soon, Aaron was asleep, and Gray closed his eyes, thanking God again that he was able to rescue Aaron. Gray wasn’t lying to Aaron when he said he couldn’t imagine living without him. In the short time they’d ANARCHY IN BLOOD

been together, Aaron had become more than just a boyfriend. He’d become Gray’s entire reason for living.
