"You saved me—" she began.

"No, the other," he uttered.

She couldn't really think straight with him moving against her as she backed up. "What?"

"Baby," he said against her lips.

Her lips lifted and she said slowly and with as much feeling as she could muster, "Baby."

A masculine growl rumbled from his throat. "So hard to keep my vow."

He nibbled at her lips, and then they kissed. She felt the bed hit the back of her knees as she lifted on her toes and kissed him harder.

"Going to make you come again," he growled, then he tongued her mouth deeply.

She mewed around his tongue with excitement, and right then a knock sounded on the door.

Jack's hand stilled, cupping her breast, and his head came up.

"The suitcases," she muttered, disappointed.

"Hell." He kissed her once lightly, and dropped his hand to turn and go open the door. Nia used the few seconds to right herself, smoothing down her hair and buttoning a couple of buttons on her blouse that Jack had gotten undone.

Jack stopped at the door and his eyes were sexy and warm as he waited for her signal that he could open it. She made a mental note to call him "baby" more often. After the bellhop left from depositing their luggage, Jack seemed to regain his control, ordering them both to call their lawyers and the police station. She wanted to strip away all control and jump into bed. That surprised her so much she blushed, grabbing her cell and walking into the bathroom.

The bathroom was as nice as the rest of the room, with a two-person Jacuzzi tub, full shower, thick towels, and a built-in hair dryer. It was tiled in stony brown and sand colors, and it was big enough to hold a small conference in. She particularly liked the big mirror with its soft lighting that made her look good, as if she had perfect skin.

She touched her kissed lips, looking in the mirror. Normally, she was planned and conservative about sex. Couldn't really call her wild. Maybe not being wild had something to do with the orgasm issue, because she felt like she was being quite wild. Jack brought that out in her. And the things he said to her just curled her toes.

"Going to make you come again," she mimicked in a deep voice at the mirror. And she was hot and ready. He was just
so
hot.

A knock sounded on the door and she was startled, looking toward it, then she heard Jack. "Lawyer says we need restraining orders."

She scooted over and opened the door to look at him. He glanced at the cell phone resting in her hand. "Call," he mouthed, then he turned away, talking on his cell.

She called, but the result was disappointing and did not involve her, Jack, and an orgasm anytime soon. It did involve her and Jack, so there were more chances for kisses. But her lawyer and Jack's lawyer wanted both of them to hurry to the police station to file charges and start the groundwork for restraining orders. So they
had
to go.

It was a pretty simple procedure at the police station, but it took forever before they both had their papers signed and ready to go before a judge as soon as that could be scheduled. They were leaving the police station holding hands and flirting a bit when Jack seemed to bump into someone by accident who was passing them.

It stopped everybody as Jack’s head came up while he was muttering, “Sorry.”

“Jack? Hey, buddy, been a few weeks.”

It was a couple and their gazes went to where Nia was holding Jack’s hand. Nia felt the weirdness wash over everyone and she tugged her hand free of Jack’s.

“Ed, good to see you. Mary ...” Jack said with a chin lift as he reached down and caught her hand again, being very obvious to what had to be a couple of Jack’s married friends. Nia felt guilty, as if they might think she and Jack were
cheating
.

“Jack,” Mary said to his greeting, still darting gazes at their handholding. Then she must have thought all wives needed defense, because she blurted, “Sadie’s coming to the Elks Friday night BYOB; hope we will see you there too.” Awkwardness ensued, and she added, “None of your 'I have to work late' excuses ...”

“Jesus, Mary,” her husband expelled.

Nia tried to get her hand free from Jack again, whispering, “It’s not what you think.” But it really was. She was still married, so was Jack, and they were heading to a hotel room.

“I’m not watching the Sadie-gets-plastered show again,” Jack stated, so bluntly it kind of hurt Nia’s ears.

“Jack.” Nia shushed him.

He glared at her, then he turned to Ed and he said, “Buddy, I’d get my facts straight before I made assumptions.” Jack tugged her hand to move them to the side, and then forward, as he said over his shoulder, “Call me if you want the truth.”

“What the hell was that?” Jack asked in a growled voice when they were out of earshot, and she finally wrenched her hand free of his hold.

She ignored his irritated question, and said, “Don’t ever
make
me hold your hand like that again.”

“Like we’re a couple?” he demanded.

“No, like I don’t want to, but you force me to,” she challenged. Then she turned to start walking.

Then Jack said something that would anger any side of a couple's disagreement, from then to eternity. “That’s the wrong way—truck’s this way, Nia.”

Her only consolation was he didn’t say it snottily, Nia thought, as she turned and flounced by him with an irritated sound. No words were spoken as they strode with distance between them to the truck. Jack opened her door and she thanked him curtly, not looking at him as she got in. She was confused and half angry that she’d felt guilty about anything. But it was just so hard. What if it had been one of her married friends? What would she have said?

She cringed, thinking she might have to say, “He cheated on me.”

“I’m not arguing,” Jack announced as he got into the truck and pulled the door shut. “I’ve had enough arguing.”

She glanced sideways at him. He turned in the seat to look at her. “I want you happy, I wanna be happy,” he stated, watching her ... gauging her. “No arguing,” he added again—for emphasis, she assumed.

She did want him happy.

“It’s just really hard,” she whispered.

He grasped her hand and brought her palm up to kiss it. “You are right,” he agreed, surprising her. “Maybe I shouldn’t have tried to make a display of us like that.” He paused as he intertwined their fingers. “On the one hand I want everyone to know I’m working on getting you to be mine ... on the other, I should let the divorce news circulate first.”

“Oh, Jack.” She sighed, then she scooted toward him until her arms were around his neck and his were around her back. “It was really awkward, and I felt stupidly guilty.”

He kissed her lightly, then said, “I could have been covering guilt too.”

She smiled at him admitting it. “What are we going to do?”

His fingers swirled on the small of her back. “Let’s have a secret hot affair,” he said in a deeper, rumbled voice that moved through her and instantly stroked her attraction. “We have the hotel room already,” he murmured, kissing the side of her mouth.

Her eyelashes drifted down in pleasure. “I like this idea,” she murmured back. “When we meet someone in public?” she asked, distracted as Jack’s warm lips kissed down her jaw.

“Keep our handholding to private. Say we are helping each other through divorce,” he said disjointedly, as she arched her throat to his lips.

“Okay,” she breathed, not sure exactly what she was agreeing to.

She was pretty excited when they made their way back to the hotel room, kissing along the way. They kissed through the opening of the door, stumbling through, and then going back several walking kisses, when she saw over Jack’s shoulder ...

“Champagne!”

He held her close and turned their bodies so they could both look, while his other hand tapped the hotel room door closed. “I called ahead,” he said simply. Like it wasn’t the nicest and most romantic gesture. “Should be some strawberries there too,” he said.

She grabbed his jaw, dragging his mouth to hers. “Perfect. I love it,” she told him through kisses. Before she couldn’t stop, she slowly pried her lips, then her body, away from him. “I’m going to change ... get more comfortable, okay?”

His gaze was heated with arousal. “If it’s anything like those short nightie things you wear, I am all for sipping champagne with you in them.”

She laughed, thrilled, and then turned to her suitcase. Quickly, keeping him from seeing, she grabbed a few things and scooted to the bathroom, giving him her best seductive look as she went. He made her feel so sexy and she wanted to live up to that.

“Right back,” she murmured as she closed the bathroom door. She didn’t have any really sexy lingerie. It was a neglect she was going to change in the future, so she improvised, telling herself to just be brave and go for it.

Jack wanted sexual, inventive, and new. She wanted that too, if she could just get over her innate shyness about sexual things.

“After having his hot mouth on you ... that should about take care of it,” she murmured, heating with the memory as she fluffed her hair in the mirror.

She was going for a tossed, sexy look, while wearing a push-up lace bra and thong panties, really wishing for a baby doll over it, but she didn’t have one. She was ignoring the fact her bra and panties didn’t match. The push-up bra was white and her thong was retail-store black cotton.

“My hips are too wide,” she muttered, pursing her lips with red lipstick, making them glisten. Maybe she should wipe that off. “I should have guzzled half that bottle of champagne before trying this,” she declared to her reflection.

Just then a knock sounded on the door. “It’s been fifteen minutes. I’m coming in with champagne, unless you yell.”

Nia sucked in a breath, then did the bravest thing she could imagine—she didn’t yell. The door opened and Jack started in with his shirt open, his pants undone, in bare feet, and holding a champagne glass.

“Thought so—nerves,” he started to say, but then he stalled. His body froze, but his eyes didn’t. They traveled over her. “Baby,” he uttered hoarsely.

Nia knew just by the look on Jack’s face that he liked what he saw and it made her feel wonderful, even as she blushed.

“Turn around.” He whispered like it was a prayer he was praying she’d do.

Before she could think about it, she did it, and even managed a sexy swing of her hips. A hoarse sound came from Jack, and then he was there with his arms coming around her from behind, carrying the champagne glass in one hand. The other latched to her buttock.

“So damn sexy,” he uttered. He moved his hand, lifting it to press over her tummy, until their bodies were tight with her back to his front. She could see the burning arousal in his gaze as he looked at them in the mirror. Then his hand holding the champagne glass lifted to her lips.

“Sip, baby.”

His other hand caressed her tummy as she sipped. He played with the top of her thong, dipping in slowly as he fed her more champagne. “You learn any new things from those naughty magazines, Nia?” he whispered near her ear. She moaned, rubbing her butt against his erection.

He lowered the champagne glass to her side and she put her arm up over his shoulder and grasped his neck, arching her body with a slow roll. “I’ve learned the last place to have sex is in the bed.” She rolled her behind across his erection again, and then added, “And to never do it missionary style.”

Nia thought she might have heard Jack choke a bit.

Chapter Thirteen

J
ack plucked Nia’s clit to her high-pitched cry as more bubbled water sloshed out of the jetted bathtub. He was lying back in the tub, Nia was facing him, on top, and he was trying to hold back from losing it inside her, until she ...

“Jack,” she cried as he worked her clit and lifted his hips faster. He’d never seen anything more exciting in his life as the bubbles played hide and seek with her breasts and hard nipples, while she bounced on his cock faster. The water took a wave out of the tub as they both panted.

Then he did what he’d done the first two times they had sex that night and early morning—once on the round table in the sitting area of their hotel room and once with Nia's belly over the wing chair—he started talking dirty.

“Baby, going to squirt for me. Put that hot pussy around my cock.”

“Jack, Jack,” she whined, and he heard she was close.

“Fuck me, Nia. Come on, fuck me with your hot little pussy.”

She screamed and he felt the pulse beat in her clit. He let loose his control and thrust into her hard, ejaculating three jerking thrusts later.

Long tremors later, she slid down his chest and he held her from slipping farther. She kissed his left nipple. “That’s so hot when you do that,” she said huskily.

He cupped her back and turned them to slide together side by side, with him slightly over her. There were bubbles on her nose, her hair was damp with curls on the end, and her cheeks were flushed. He looked deep into her eyes. “Talk dirty?” he asked as she slid against him.

“Yes,” she whispered, then she stroked his chest. “I want to try it.” If a woman could look shy and bold at the same time, she did, and he felt the thrill of her request move through him.

“Be hot,” he told her.

She smiled a wicked little grin. “It’s never been like this, Jack.”

He stroked her bottom, then cupped it, while her leg rose over his thigh, and the new position made them meld closer together. “I know ... never for me, either.”

After their late-night jetted-tub sex, they slept until noon, then had breakfast as lunch, served in bed by room service. Nia stayed naked, but hid in the bathroom as he got the room service tray. Then he shrugged out of his pants and they ate on the bed. He ate cherries from between her thighs and she licked drops of strawberry jelly off his cock, which led to a hot bout of mutual oral on the bed.

That evening they went down and bought swimsuits from the gift shop, and then went to the indoor heated pool. They were in the water with Nia’s arms hooked over his neck as they floated face to face.
