“Hell Ellie, you can move your pert little ass in there with me if it means I get to see you naked more often,” I flirted, making her laugh.

“Yeah, but then you’d get fed up with me,” she replied, giggling. Damn, I don’t think I’d ever get fed up with her, but I didn’t want to say that out loud in case I scared her off or something.

“Yeah, you’re probably right, you do look a bit of a mess in the mornings,” I joked, turning my nose up teasingly.

“I’ll remember that, Stud! Next time my cell vibrates with a text, begging for my company, I’ll say no,” she stated, waving her hand dismissively, pretending to be offended.

I pulled the car over by the side of the deserted road and unbuckled her seat belt. She looked at me a little confused, until I gripped her waist and pulled her onto my lap and kissed her. She kissed me back immediately, her delicious taste exploding in my mouth, making me hard instantly.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer to her, pressing her chest against mine lightly, she was always still so careful even though my ribs didn’t hurt anymore. I mean, sure if I banged them or something then it hurt like a bitch, but it definitely didn’t hamper my movement anymore.

I pulled out of the kiss and put my forehead against hers. “Thank you for coming with me today. I really appreciate your help,” I said honestly.

She smiled her sexy little smile, “Yeah? How much did you appreciate it?” she asked, running her hands down my chest, her fingers hooking into the belt loops of my jeans. Her thumb was tracing the outline of my hard on through the material, making me want to moan, but I resisted the urge.

“Oh, I appreciated it a lot. If there’s anything I could ever do to thank you, then you only need to say,” I said, my voice sounding so husky and thick with lust that it was almost embarrassing.

She unbuttoned my jeans slowly, her beautiful grey eyes locked on mine, I gripped her pert little ass. “There is actually something that I want you to do for me,” she whispered, kissing down my neck as her hand slipped inside my jeans and gripped my shaft.

I tipped my head back and closed my eyes, moaning quietly as she started to pump me gently and suck on my neck. “And what can I do for you, little girl?” I breathed.

“You can say no if you want to…..” she trailed off, stroking me slightly faster, making pleasure shoot around my body.

“I won’t say no,” I promised. Whatever the hell it was that she wanted, I’d do it, even if I had to cut off my arm or something. The thought of just how far I would go for this girl scared the life out of me, but I just couldn’t help it, I was falling for her so hard it was unreal.

“I have my school’s winter dance coming up,” she said, pressing her forehead to mine.

“Ok, you want me to drive you or something?” I asked, moaning and slipping my hands under her sweater, cupping her breasts as I bent forward to kiss the exposed skin on her shoulders.

“No, I want you to take me,” she said breathlessly, as I moved my hand slipping it inside her bra.

Take her? Like go with her? Like a date? Holy crap, is she saying I can ask her out? Does her wanting to go with me to her dance, mean that I can date her now and be exclusive with her? Well, we were already kind of exclusive in a way because neither of us saw other people. What we had was almost like dating, but without the actual boyfriend/girlfriend titles.

“Take you, like…..be your date?” I asked, moving my hips slightly, in time with her strokes, I could feel my climax building in the pit of my stomach.

“Yeah, you don’t have to….” She bent her head to kiss me again. I moved one of my hands from her bra and put it round the back of her head, tangling my fingers in her silky hair and moaned into her mouth, as each stroke pushed me closer and closer.

“Ellie, I’m really close….” I mumbled against her lips. She nodded and squeezed a little harder, making me grunt as I came into her hand, pleasure shooting around my body. She smiled and sucked my juices from her thumb and the back of her hand, damn she is so freaking incredible!

I pulled her mouth back to mine, the taste of me on her tongue made her even sexier to me somehow, she was like some kind of goddess or something. She wrapped her arms around my neck, running her fingers through the back of my hair. I smiled at the feel of it, it was actually starting to get fairly long and messy now, for the first time in almost five years I would have to go for a proper haircut.

I could still feel the after effects of my orgasm pulsing around my body, and I desperately wanted to return the favor and make her moan.

“So, will you?” she asked, as I kissed her neck lightly, resisting the urge to suck on her neck and mark her creamy skin as mine.

“You want me to take you, like a date?” I asked, trying not to sound too hopeful but even I could hear the hope in my voice.

She nodded, “Yeah. I mean, when you go to a dance it’s pretty much a given that you have to have sex at the end of the night, and there’s no one else I’d rather do that with, than you,” she purred seductively.

Oh, is she just inviting me so we could have after dance sex?

Ok, I’m going to do it, I’m going to ask her out again and pray that it doesn’t ruin anything. Jeez, I was so nervous my hands were sweaty. What if I asked her out and she said no again and withdrew the booty call offer? I couldn’t cope with that, not the sex, of course I could go without that, but I would miss
her
like crazy. She was the first person I thought of when I had good news, and the person I always thought of last thing at night before I went to sleep, or when I woke up in the morning. I needed her in my life. Crap, should I do it?

“I’d love to take you to your dance, Ellie, but not just so we can sleep together at the end of the night.” I swallowed the lump in my throat. Ok, I was half way there now. I couldn’t really take it back. I would just have to push thorough and hope I could talk her into still seeing me casually when she said no.

“Oh really, you don’t want to get laid?” she teased.

“Hell yeah I do, of course I do, but…” I trailed off, feeling slightly sick with nerves.

“But what?”

“Ellie, I’d just love to take you as a date. Like a proper date as a couple, like as a boyfriend and someone who’s totally crazy about his girl,” I said, wincing slightly.

Oh God, please say yes, please say yes.

She pulled back looking at me slightly shocked, “Are you asking me out again?” she asked with wide eyes.

I nodded unable to speak.

A smile pulled at the corners of her mouth, “Seriously?” she asked.

Ok she hasn’t said no, is that a good sign? Damn it, why do I have to be so freaking useless at this kind of thing?

“Seriously,” I confirmed, nodding. “I’ve been wanting to ask you out for a long time but I didn’t know if you were interested. I mean, I didn’t want to ruin what we’ve got going on, but I’m just totally crazy about you, Ellie. I know that I’m not good enough for you, you deserve so much better than me, but I just can’t stop myself wanting you.” I shook my head at how stupid that sounded. I looked away from her feeling embarrassed and stupid. Why can’t I be smooth and have the right things to say?

“Jamie?” She put her finger under my chin, and titled my head up so I had to look at her. “That was so damn sweet, corny, but sweet nonetheless,” she said, smiling her sexy little smile.

“Yeah? I thought it sucked big time,” I admitted.

“It didn’t suck, but maybe you could just go with the line,
’hey, want to be exclusive with me?’
or something along those lines,” she said, grinning at me wickedly.

Holy shit, she’s going to say yes! I could feel my insides doing a little happy dance and I wanted to shout a celebration and rip my shirt off, and run around swinging it above my head, singing the national anthem. Ok Jamie, calm down she hasn’t said yes yet.

“Ellie?” I grinned, trying to contain my excitement.

“Yes Jamie?” she asked, pulling back from me slightly, pretending she didn’t know what I was going to ask. A beautiful smile was tugging at the corners of her mouth and her eyes were amused.

“Want to be exclusive with me?” I asked hopefully.

She grinned, “Hell yeah I do,” she said, as she crashed her lips to mine.

Chapter 12

Everything about my life right now was awesome. I had moved into my new place on the Monday, and Ellie had come over in her little denim booty shorts and a t-shirt that she’d tied up in the back exposing her flat stomach, and we painted the walls. That day was a lot of fun and I think we ended up with more paint on us than on the walls. I was actually having the time of my life. Not that it was hard to top anything that had ever happened in my life before, but my little girlfriend just made my life a whole lot more interesting. My job was going great, Connor and I had become quite close, it was nice to have someone who I could actually call a ‘friend’, I’d never really had that before in my life.

My girlfriend was beautiful, smart, kind and caring, and not to mention thoughtful. I’d never had anyone treat me the way that she treated me all the time. It was just little things that she did for me, like sneaking out of the bed early in the morning when she stayed over, so that she could make me a sandwich to take to work with me that day. Or that she would just randomly buy me my favourite candy, or rent movies that I said I wanted to watch, or she’d show up with a car magazine or an article she’d clipped from a newspaper, just because she saw it and thought I’d like it.

Ellie was a lot of fun to be around, and I’m not just talking about sex. We didn’t even need to do anything physical to make me smile. Just watching TV, talking, holding hands whilst sitting on the sofa, was enough to put me in a great mood. Everything was incredible and I felt like the luckiest guy in the world, because an incredible girl like Ellie Pearce, gave a waster like me a chance.

The month passed in a blur of laughing, flirting and talking about everything - well, everything apart from my past, I kept that well away from her. I couldn’t lose her now, not after knowing what it would be like with her, I needed to keep my past as far away from Ellie as possible, because I couldn’t take the risk of her not wanting to be with me if she knew the real me. I couldn’t risk losing that look that she has for me all the time, the soft tender look. I needed that look, I loved that look, that one look from her made my life worth living.

Unfortunately, just like every other time in someone’s life when things are looking rosy and bright, something had to come along and ruin it. Just as things were looking up for me and I thought that I might have a chance at a happy life. Just as I started to believe that, maybe, somewhere up there someone had decided to give me a break…….karma had to come and pull the rug out from under my feet and knock me on my ass again.

I woke up on Sunday morning to my cell phone ringing loudly next to my head. I winced and tried to grab it quickly, before it woke up the beautiful girl that was using my stomach like a pillow as she snored lightly.

I opened the phone and blinked a couple of times, trying to clear the sleepy fog that had settled over me. “Hello?” I croaked into the phone, subtly putting one hand over Ellie’s ear so that she wouldn’t wake up. Lucky for me she was a really deep sleeper and I’d worn her out last night so she was probably sleeping like the dead right now.

I was greeted by Ray’s voice. “Hey, Kid.”

“Hey. What’s up, Ray?” I asked, yawning and trying to move so I could get out of the bed, but Ellie had other ideas about that. She groaned in her sleep, throwing her other arm over my chest, her hand slapping the side of my face by accident. I laughed quietly to myself; she was such a freaking menace when she was unconscious. She talked in her sleep sometimes too, it was too cute, we’d had whole conversations about baking cookies and rollerblading, but she never had any recollection of it at all in the morning.

“Look, Kid, I’ll get straight to the point because there’s no use in beating around the bush with this.

You should be told, so I’m just gonna lay it out there. So…. I’ll just spit it out….and…..”

I laughed, shaking my head, “Say it then, you’re beating around the bush right now!”

I heard a heavy sigh on the line before he spoke. “Your mom’s in a bad way. I bumped into her just now at the store and she’s banged up, her arm is broken and her face is pretty bruised. I asked her what happened and she just shrugged it off and tried to tell me she fell down the stairs.”

I gulped, my fist clenching at the thought of her being hurt and what that could possibly mean. Fell down the stairs, my ass. That was the oldest excuse in the damn book, as if Ray would fall for that one! I felt my body tense up. I didn’t get on with my mother at all, in fact, the last time she saw me she told me that I had ruined her life and she wished I was dead, but I still didn’t want anyone hurting her. She was still my mother at the end of the day.

“She ‘
fell down the stairs’
?” I repeated sarcastically.

“That’s what I was thinking. Anyway, I know you don’t see her but I just thought you should know,” Ray said, sounding almost apologetic.

I closed my eyes and nodded, “Thanks, Ray.” I disconnected the call and pressed the phone against my forehead. If she was getting battered again, did that mean that she was back to her usual habits?

I sacrificed so much to get her out of it and she was back in trouble again? It almost made me wonder why I even bothered in the first place. But I knew why I bothered, she was my mother, she was a sorry excuse for one definitely, but the woman gave birth to me, I owed her.

I sighed and put the phone on the side, looking down at Ellie’s flawless face, trying not to get myself so worked up that I would end up smashing the place up. I brushed the hair off of her face, just letting my feelings for her wash over me. I was so in love with her now that it was almost embarrassing, I was like one of those whipped guys that put her before everything else, all I wanted to do was make her happy. I think I was doing it too, she was definitely happy with me.

Her dad seemed to like me too, I had been round her house for dinner at least once a week for the last month, watching football on the TV her dad, laughing and joking around with him. Her mom on the other hand, she despised me. She didn’t say it, she didn’t need to, the look on her face told me that she thought I wasn’t good enough for her daughter. The subtle way she would drop Mark freaking Barrington into the conversation whenever she could, proved that point. I think her and Ellie were clashing a lot over me, which is why she liked to stay at my place a lot. I definitely wasn’t complaining about that, but I just wish that my presence in her life didn’t make things hard for her.
