After about an hour and fifteen of making love, Kiyan stroked her back with his fingertips. Brielle laid her head in his chest just breathing. Brielle wanted to tell Kiyan something but didn’t want to ruin the moment with words. She looked up at the same time Kiyan looked down at her.

“I love you,” Brielle whispered.

“I love you too baby,” Kiyan lifted her chin and gently kissed her.

“Don’t leave me tonight,” Brielle said.

“I won’t. Lets go get cleaned up so we could go to sleep. It’s been a long day.”

“Don’t you have to call the boys to let them know you’re not meeting up with them?” Brielle asked.

“Nawh, they will know I’m not coming if I’m more than twenty minutes late.”

Brielle could honestly say at the moment she was happy. She didn’t know how long this happiness would last but she was going to enjoy it.

“Kiy, can you promise me something?”

“What’s that?”

“Promise that no matter what you will always love me and we’ll always
be friends before anything.”

“That goes without question.”

“Okay. Lets get in the shower.”

“Come on.”

“One more thing.”

“What’s that?”

“Can I get on your back? I’m tired,” Brielle laughed.

“Come on lazy.” Kiyan said standing on Brielle’s side of the bed.
“I’m not lazy. You just wore me out,” Brielle said climbing on his back.

“That was nothing. Wait until we get in the shower,” Kiyan looked back and winked at her.

“Oh lord. Look what I done got myself into,” Brielle smiled.

“You better get use to it because you’re stuck with me.”

“I’m okay with being stuck with you.”

“At this point you don’t even have a choice,” Kiyan said as he put Brielle down and kissed her.

Chapter 26

“You’re lucky we cool because I don’t let too many people talk to me like that.” -Kiyan

Brielle woke up the next morning feeling brand new. Her and Kiyan finally took their friendship to the next level. She was feeling good until the reality of the past month came crashing into her thoughts. Her big smile turned into the saddest frown. How could her and Kiyan be in a relationship when him and Samara was still dating? Then the identity of the unknown girl that Chloe saw him in the mall with a couple weeks ago was still not revealed.

Brielle got out of bed, brushed her teeth, washed her face and walked around Kiyan’s three-story house to try to find him. She was almost about to give up hope until she heard him in the living room shuffling around. Brielle got to the living room post when she saw he had his back turned from her and on the phone. She was trying to make out what he was saying, but she couldn’t because he was talking at an almost whisper.

Once Kiyan felt somebody else’s presence in the room, he told the person on the other end that he would call them back later. Then he turned and gave Brielle his killer smile.

“Good morning ma,” he said standing up to kiss her. She gave him a kiss back and took a seat on the couch next to him.

“Good morning Kiy!”

“You slept good?”

“Yeah it was comfortable,” Brielle said while tucking her feet under her.

“That’s good.”

“So, who was on the phone?” Brielle asked.

“Oh that was Ty and Tiana,” Kiyan Shrugged.

“So why were you whispering?”

“I knew you were sleep, so I didn’t want to wake you.”

“I was upstairs, but anyway I need to ask you something,” Brielle said changing the subject.

“Wassup?”

“Are we really in a relationship?”

“I thought we already established that we were last night.”

“I know we did, but then I woke up this morning and remembered that you’re still in a relationship with Samara.”

“Iight. So let me ask you a question.”

“Kiyan I asked you a question first and you haven’t even answered it.”

“I will answer it just answer my question first.”

“What’s your question?”

“On our first date, I said some messed up shit. When I came to your office what is the reason why you said we couldn’t start over?”

“Because I wasn’t looking for someone who would quickly assume the worse of me.”

“Right and the same go for me. So why would I mess with you if I was still messing around with Samara?”
“You never said you and her broke up, so I figured that y’all were still in a relationship.”

“You never asked, so I didn’t feel the need to tell you. Just know I fucked up the first time by assuming, I’m not willing to make the same mistake twice.”

“Okay so you and Samara broke up, but who were you all overly friendly in the mall a couple weeks ago?”
“What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about a friend of mine seeing you at Garden State Plaza with a female holding her bags and hugging on.”

“How long have you known about that?”

“I’ve known for a while. Maybe around 3 and a half weeks.”
“So why wait until now to bring the situation up?”
“Because if we are going to be together, I don’t need any surprise girlfriends popping up months later. I had to deal with infidelity with Jaiden so I refuse to do it with anybody else.”
“Look Brielle we won’t make it if you keep comparing everything I do to the shit your ex did.”
“I won’t, but I still want to know who the female was.” Brielle seriously said.

“It was my best friend Mercedes.” Kiyan said.

“Best friend? Why haven’t I heard about this best friend and we’ve known each other for over 6 months.”

“She doesn’t live in Jersey anymore yet. She was here visiting.”

“Oh.”
“Yeah oh. Do you have any more questions about my loyalty and faithfulness to you or anything else?”

“Yes, one last question.”

“What now Brielle,” Kiyan said getting annoyed.

“Can you make me breakfast? I’m starving.” Brielle said cracking a smile.

“Come on yo,” Kiyan said pulling Brielle off of the couch with him.

As Kiyan was looking through the kitchen for breakfast foods to cook, he thought back to the phone call. He had lied to Brielle. He was on the phone with more than one person but it wasn’t Ty and Tiana. He was on the phone with Cam, Ty, and Zo talking about how he was going to handle Kris. He had promised Brielle that he wouldn’t do anything to Kris, but what kind of man would he be if he let a man harass a female. Then the fact that the female was his girlfriend was justifiable enough to break a promise between him and Brielle. Kris had to know when you messed with anybody that belonged to him, he would come back ten time harder and make sure he would never think about doing it again.

Brielle had a feeling that he was down playing his telephone conversation but decided that she wouldn’t pursue the subject anymore. If Kiyan was lying then the truth had a funny way of revealing itself. She would continue to take their blooming relationship one step at a time. She had finally taken everybody’s advice and put her happiness before her fear of a failed relationship. She was excited to see where her and Kiyan’s relationship was going. She surprisingly didn’t have any doubts about being in a new relationship so soon.

Kiyan and Brielle ate breakfast together then Kiyan broke the news hat he would be leaving her for a while to go meet up with his boys. Since Brielle didn’t want to be left alone in his big house, she decided she would invite the girls over to keep her company. But before she had the chance to text them after getting dressed, Kiyan was opening the door for Danielle, Shanice, Sabriya, Chloe and Tiana.

“How did y’all know I was calling?” Brielle smiled at her friends.

“Your boy called us early this morning and invited us over,” Sabriya said.

“Awe. Kiy how did you know?” Brielle asked.

“Because I knew you wouldn’t want to be here by yourself.” Kiyan answered.

“You think you know me?” Brielle laughed.

“I know you better than you think I do.” He winked.

“Oh really?” Brielle said.

“Cut the damn flirting out.” Danielle intervened.

“Pump your brakes
lil lady,” Kiyan said.

“Yeah iight, but can I talk to you in private Kiyan?” Danielle asked.

“Come outside because I’m out,” Kiyan said kissing Brielle and Tiana.

“See you later,” Brielle said.

“Bye uncle Kiy. Bring back ice cream and chips.” Tiana requested.

“I got you. I love you princess.” Kiyan said smiling at Tiana.

“I love you more uncle Kiy. Don’t forget or I will be upset.” Tiana said.

“This girl is so grown.” Chloe laughed.

Danielle and Kiyan walked outside to Kiy’s car when they both stopped.

“Wassup Danni?” Kiy asked.

“Look Kiyan, I’m going to tell you one time and one time only. If you fuck it up with Brielle, I’m going to fuck you up.” Danielle said seriously.

“Come on now Danni. You of all people know I wouldn’t intentionally fuck it up with her. Shit it took forever and a day to get her, you think I’m just gone lose her that easily?”

“I’m just saying. You just remember what I said.” Danielle said.

“I got you yo. You’re lucky we cool because I don’t let too many people talk to me like that.” Kiyan said seriously.

“You’re lucky we cool or this would have went different.” Danielle smiled.

“Yeah iight. Go in the house man,” Kiyan hugged Danni.

“I’m going and tell Cam don’t think I forgot that his ass left this morning without saying bye and that’s his ass.” Danielle said walking in the door.

“I got you.” Kiyan yelled.

When Danielle walked in the house, everybody was in the living room talking while Tiana was in her room watching TV.

“What was that about?” Shanice asked.

“Nothing. I just had to warn him that I’m not playing with him this time around.” Danielle smiled.

Brielle laughed at Danielle. She knew she was a lucky girl to find a best friend and a protector in Danni.

Kiyan and the boys were at the studio planning and plotting their next move. Kiyan knew no matter what he was gone be the one that approached Kris since Kris threatened him. He wasn’t to fond of threats being aimed at him. Zo volunteered to step up and be the one who would handle Kris but because he was too deep in the public eye to be risking everything for Kris’s punk ass. Kiyan knew since Kris was Brielle’s problem that made him his responsibility.

“Yo we doing all this talking but we aint saying what his fate is.” Ty said.

“What you mean?” Cam asked.

“Will this fool breathe again after we finished with him or are we just going to rough him up a little?” Ty elaborated.

“Nawh, we not gone kill him. We just gone make sure he doesn’t fuck with Brielle ever again.” Kiy said.

“Sayless. We need to know all of his moves
tho.” Zo pointed out.

“You already know I’m on it. I had
Dre and J Rock follow him since last night when Kiy didn’t come out.” Cam said.

“Good looks,” Kiy thanked Cam.

“So are you and Bri officially official?” Zo asked changing the subject.

“Yeah man, we are official.” Kiyan answered.

“Give me my money,” Zo said to Cam and Ty and jumping out of his chair.

“Damn yo. Y’all couldn’t wait,” Cam said to Kiy while pulling the money out of his pocket for Zo.

“Y’all couldn’t come to y’all senses before all this bullshit,” Ty asked.

“Y’all betting on me?” Kiy asked laughing.

“Hell yeah. That just made me two thousand dollars richer.” Zo laughed.

“Y’all aint shit. I’m out.” Kiyan said grabbing his phone.

“Where you going?” Cam asked.

“Home to mess with y’all girls.” Kiyan laughed.

“I’m coming with you.” Zo said.

“I’m down for the cause.” Ty added.

“Oh shit, I gotta stop and get some chips and ice cream?” Kiy remembered.

“Who the hell want that?” Cam asked.

“You think about that and you tell me.” Kiyan said looking at Cam.

Cam thought for a minute who could possibly want that odd combination of junk food. Just as he got the answer they all yelled and laughed “Tiana,” at the same time.

Chapter 27

“You can try to run and hide but remember I will always find you.” -Unknown

Brielle was finally back home in the comforts of her own house. She was forced to temporarily move in Kiy’s house until Kiy felt her house was secured enough for her to stay in it alone. He made sure she got a new alarm system and he got an add on so that she could have some where to park her cars so they weren’t subjected to vandalism anymore.  It took two weeks before she wasn’t allowed to come back home.
