Me: No

After the twentieth time of him asking the same question, I’ve had enough.

“Will you shut it if I say yes?” I yell.

“Of course.” He grins smugly.

“Fine then! For fuck’s sake, you’re worse than a kid sometimes.” I shake my head in frustration but the look of sheer happiness on his face erases my annoyance immediately. His bloody gorgeous smile is infectious.

“And, like a kid, I got what I wanted. Bennett one, Nancy zero.” He mimics scoring on an invisible scoreboard which has me rolling my eyes and sniggering at the same time until I notice his arms. One is draped over the back of the booth whilst the other one is drawing a ‘one’ in the air and they both look magnificent. His tattoos are showing, thanks to his short sleeved t-shirt, which has also risen up just enough to show a trail of hair and his tattooed abs.
Holy fucking hell, living with him isn’t going to be easy.

“Fucker.”

“I know.” He winks at me, looking very proud that he’s won this battle.

I’m not sure living with Bennett will be any good for my sanity, but I didn’t really have any other choice but to give in to him. I have to admit that I’m kind of nervous about living with Bennett, what if we don’t get along and end up hating each other, that would be terrible. Although a huge part of me is quite happy about moving in and can’t wait to have Bennett around all day, every day. Well he already was at the compound, but now it’s going to be just the two of us, together, in Bennett’s house, alone... The other part of me is really nervous about what could come out of us living together. Only time will tell…

“Know what we should do?” Bennett asks as we’re sitting on the back porch of his place, enjoying the cool breeze.

“What?” I look at him before taking a sip of my beer.

“Tomorrow we should go to the DMV and find out what we need to get you your ID back.”

“Where did that come from?” I chuckle.

“Well, you’re very much alive and need your driver’s licence and your ID back.”

“True but I don’t have the money to get any of those. I’m sure it’s a lot harder than we think to get them back.” I frown.

“Don’t worry about the cost, just worry about the getting picture for your ID.” He smiles and drapes an arm around my shoulders.

“Bennett, you can’t pay for everything for me.”

“Like shit I won’t.” He scoffs.

“Seriously?” I look at him and raise my eyebrow.

“Yes, in this matter, I’m right and you’re wrong. No matter what, I’ll always pay for everything for you, that’s just the way it is.” He smirks and kisses my temple.

“You’re impossible.” I huff.

“You missed it.”

“I did but doesn’t make it any less bad. That’s such a sexist statement.”

“How is it sexist? It’s just me wanting to take care of my woman.” He looks at me, shocked that I would question him on this.

“I’m not your woman.” I raise my eyebrow at him.

“You always have been and always will be, my Gorgeous Girl. Deal with it.” He chuckles and props his feet up on the porch railing.
Typical Bennett.

CHAPTER 17

Bennett

Well, asking Nancy to live with me wasn’t such a good idea after all. I don’t know if she’s been doing it on purpose, but she walks around the house in her booty shorts that barely cover anything and a tank top that hugs her perky tits perfectly. I constantly want to pin her underneath me and fuck her into next week. The effect she has on me is insane. I’ve had to masturbate like a fucking horny teenage boy pretty much every night. It’s pure fucking torture having to resort to that when she’s in the room next door. God knows what she’s doing. If I ever hear her masturbate then fuck it, I’m fucking joining her. At this rate I’m going to self-combust within the next twenty-four hours.

I love having her around though. Just being around her is good for me, her presence is soothing. We finally get our do-over and the life we’ve always wanted. It’s also the best way for me to make sure she’s safe and that no one is trying to hurt her. I would never be able to forgive myself if I failed her again. I still feel unbelievably guilty that I didn’t find her sooner. I should never have given up my fight. I can’t get my head around the fact that someone in the Satan’s Inferno would want to harm her and get payback over something I did. I was careful back then, making sure I didn’t piss anyone off so none of my loved ones would pay for my stupidity, but apparently I wasn’t careful enough.

I know for a fact that she’s hiding something from me; both her and Callum are being very evasive when it comes to talking about who is the mastermind fucker behind it all. Neither of them will say the name of the pimp. They know who’s behind it all but won’t tell anyone, why? Are they trying to protect the fuckers or maybe themselves? They know we’ll get the fucker who did it, if only they’d speak up.

I’m so caught up in my thoughts that I don’t notice that Nancy has joined me on the porch until she’s literally sitting on my lap.

“Hey, you.” I smile and kiss her shoulder.

“What were you thinking about? You have that brooding expression on your face which means the cogs are working overtime in there.” She goes to get up, but I keep her still.

“Nothing important,” I mumble and squeeze her hip.

“You’re a shit liar, Bennett.” She scolds me.

“So are you, I know you know who’s behind it all.” It might be a bad idea to do this now, but I need to know.

“That’s completely different.” She shakes her head, clearly not happy with where this conversation is going.

“No it’s not, I can only protect you properly if I know the whole truth.”

“I know, I’m just not ready yet. Okay?” She sighs and gets up and leans against the rail. I try to keep her on my lap but she escapes my hold and I don’t like it. It feels like she’s building a wall between us.

“Do I know who did it?” She nods. “Fuck’s sake Nance, just tell me.”

“I can’t! I wish I could, but I can’t.” She groans in frustration.

“Why not?” I stand and corner her against the wall.

“It’s for your safety, it’s best if you don’t know.” She puts her hands on my arms and squeezes gently.

“I’ll get it out of you one of these days, even if I have to fuck it out of you, you’ll tell me.” I groan and walk back inside. I’m frustrated with her and the fact that even if she’s annoying the fuck out of me by being so stubborn, I’m getting a fucking boner just by breathing the same air as her.

I grab my wallet, gun and cut before walking out the front door. I need to put some distance between the two of us before I do or say something stupid.

I drive to the compound and park next to Gabe’s bike before making my way inside and greet the others outside the Chapel.

“Woman trouble?” Ant asks.

“Who knew asking Nancy to live with me would be this frustrating?” I grumble.

“I knew.” Aleck sings.

“Fuck off.” I shoot at him.

“She good?” Callum asks.

“Yeah, just annoyingly hot.” I groan.

“She still won’t talk?” Ant asks.

“I think she’s told me everything but she refuses to tell me who’s behind it all. I know she knows and I know Callum knows but no one will fucking talk.” I throw a death glare towards Callum who just smirks at me.

“We’ll sort this out later. We’re meeting with Lewis in five,” Ant calls loudly.

“Great.” Callum huffs and stalks into the Chapel. We all follow and take our designated seats.

A few minutes later, Jase and Lewis walk in and take a seat. Glares are exchanged between Callum and Lewis which makes me sure that there’s more to what Callum told us.
Fuck, I really am worse than a nosey woman sometimes.

“Lewis managed to dig up some more information about the Satan’s Inferno,” Ant says and motions for her to speak.

“They’ve been fairly quiet for the past ten years, laying low with the law in regards to any drugs or gun deals, but when it comes to women, they are far worse than the Disciples. They’ve made it their business years ago and it’s thriving. That’s their main source of income and how they are able to keep their club go-”

“So far nothing is new information.” Callum cuts her off.

“If you’d let me finish.” She glares at him and he nods for her to continue with a sadistic smirk on his face. “As I was saying, that’s what keeps them going. They have a reputation of having the most willing women, when in reality they have over twenty girls barely out of high school and only a handful of them are willing; the others are drugged up so they act compliant. The thing with these guys is that they are way too careful to be caught so the cops aren’t able to do anything. Our main concern now is that Nancy escaped and they’re on the hunt for her. I’m sure it won’t take them long to figure out where she’s hiding. Some of their main clients are high up in law enforcement, which could make things tricky if you go against them. The MC could blackmail those clients into coming after you. I’m sure they only want Nancy back until they find someone to take her place, but I’d suggest keeping your women safe, especially considering all the info we have on them. They are always on the lookout for new blood.” Lewis’ speech leaves us all speechless.

“We know their location so we have that advantage over them. The only problem we have is if we try to stop them before they even think about attacking us we’d be starting a war. Do we want that?” Jase asks.

“Jase is right. We can’t act unless we make it seem like we have a different reason so the Infernos wouldn’t know it is necessarily about Nancy. We need to keep our women safe, that’s our main priority,” Ant states, completely understanding how we all feel.

“I’ll try to keep a look out for any new information about the Infernos and hopefully I’ll hear something useful,” Lewis says glancing in my direction. Any other time I wouldn’t have found this weird, but she has a disturbed look on her face. Maybe she knows who their Prez is too and I’m the only stupid fucker who doesn’t.

“We appreciate it. If we find anything we’ll keep you updated too,” Ant says.

I zone out as everyone keeps talking, my mind is racing with messed up thoughts that someone close to me could be behind it all and Callum and Nancy are protecting them. I hate feeling this helpless, especially when it comes to Nancy. I feel like I’m getting fucking paranoid about all of this.

I’m snapped back to reality when Gabe taps on my shoulder and I see that the meeting is over and we’re the only two left in the room.
Shit, I must have been out of it for a while
.

“You alright?” he asks me and takes a seat next to me.

“No. I’m getting fucked off because everybody is keeping shit from me. I’m so fucking worried that someone is going to take Nancy again and I don’t know how to protect her. I still haven’t forgiven myself from the first time.” I feel defeated and fucking furious at the same time.

“If they’re keeping it from you it’s probably because they have a good reason to, they aren’t going to do it just for the sake of it. Also, you are not to blame for her being taken, but if you don’t pull your head out of your ass soon, she’ll either be taken because you are lost in your fucked up world or she got tired of your mood swings and Callum swept her off her feet,” he warns me but grins as he says the last bit.

“Fuck off.” I feel grossed out imagining Nancy and Callum together.

“It could happen.” He laughs, clearly amused by my reaction.

“I will bash your fucking teeth in if you keep this up.” I threaten.

“You do know that if by some miracle you get the chance to do that you will never hear the end of it with Viv, right?” He smirks.

“Fuck my life.” Pissing Viv off is definitely not worth the satisfaction of punching Gabe.

“I’ll let you in on something. Callum told me who it was. I know you’re pissed off by all of the secrets, but it is for your own good. You shouldn’t come to any of our business with the Infernos. Trust me.”

“What the fuck? You can’t say things like that to me and just expect me to listen to it without commenting.” I’m starting to feel like my Brothers are ganging up on me.

“Calm down, Brother. It
is
for your own good. If I didn’t know how badly it would fuck with your mind I’d let you come. Just trust me on this one. Stay out of this and take care of Nancy. If anything happens, as you said, you won’t be able to deal with the consequences. Just make sure she’s safe.” Gabe tries to reason me, but it’s going in one ear and out the other.

“Fucking hell.” I drag my fingers through my hair and try to relieve the migraine that’s come on, thanks to all this cloak and dagger bullshit.

“It’ll be alright.” He claps my shoulder and leaves me alone with my thoughts.

I don’t think I know anyone who’d hate me enough to do that kind of thing, especially to a woman. Besides, it’s not like I know anyone from the Infernos, it makes no sense.
