“No amount will ever be enough.” His hand tangled in her hair. “But I will gladly settle for whatever I can get.”

“By the way. Sarge says you have to take some time off.” Olivia lifted her head.

“Figures.” Nate sighed deeply. “Now you’ll get to spend even more time with me.”

Olivia grinned mischievously. “About that. I was thinking we should break up...”

“Funny.” He poked her in the side and she giggled. “That sense of humor of yours leaves something to be desired.”

“You love it,” she said confidently.

After a long look he said, “I do.”
