Her eyebrows lifted and Terri leaned closer to
him then slid her hand to his thigh. Fire shot up to his groin as
she said, "Tell me more...I know how to ride the trot now, so
learning to rope seems a natural progression in my lessons, don't
you think?"

"Honey, I'm
coming
to learn that
there's not a damned thing you're not a natural at, country girl or
not."

"I find that
hard
to believe," she said
and slid her hand higher on his thigh.

Joel sucked in a breath between his teeth and
closed his hand over hers. They hadn't had sex in a week, Terri
insisted it would heighten things for their wedding night. He was
about as heightened as he could get.

His eyes moved around until they landed on the
spa building in the distance. He had his keys in his pocket, so he
stood, grabbed her hand then dragged her through the crowd on the
dance floor.

Before he could step outside though, his mama
stopped him and Joel groaned. He had decided to wait until tomorrow
to talk to her about the horse incident. There was no reason to
cause drama tonight, so he just gritted his teeth and forced a
smile.

She had Caleb on her hip and he was happily
playing in her piled up hair. "Joel, honey...it's about time you
gave me another grandbaby, don't you think?" she asked and cut her
eyes to Terri.

"Mama, you know we're waiting a year or so,
the ranch is booked solid and we want to get things settled first,"
he told her. Since they'd announced their engagement, his mama had
been hounding them for another grandchild.

"If you wait for a good time, there won't be
one," Curly told him with a twist of her red lips.

"Okay, mama...I promise we'll work on it," he
told her and felt Terri's eyes on the side of his face. "Now, go
enjoy the party, we'll be back in a little while." With a nod,
Curly walked off and Joel grabbed Terri's hand then pulled her out
into the night.

"Where the hell are we going?" Terri asked
with a frustrated sigh.

"We're going to start working on it...
right
now
," he said without stopping his progress toward the spa.
"You know mama never takes no for an answer."
