Kendra L. Saunders
(“Second Thanksgiving”)

Kendra L. Saunders is the author of the magic realism novel,
Inanimate Objects
, host of the quirky literary podcast
13 1/2 Minutes
, Jazz-Age/ all things England enthusiast and sometimes-roadie for her steampunk friends, The Vagabonds (one of whom inspired this story). She drinks too much tea, stays up too late at night and is approximately one cat allergy away from being your stereotypical novelist. Rich Storrs
(“Demons' Day Off”)

Rich Storrs grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, before going to Yale and being recruited into the Yale Precision Marching Band by a wild-eyed woman carrying cymbals. Since college, he has taught kids in the woods, on the beach, and in a wildly decorated classroom. By night, he's a senior editor for Spencer Hill Press, where he was dubbed “The Closer” for his fanatical attention to detail during final copyedits. Rich lives with his wife, his son, and a very fluffy black cat. Follow him on Twitter (@ RichStorrsSHP) to hear about his latest adventures in editing and writing.

Keshia Swaim
(“Marked” and “Easy as Pie”)

Keshia Swaim grew up in a tiny Oklahoma town and, perhaps out of boredom, became an obsessive reader at an early age. After reading all the books the library had to offer, she began making up her own stories. Like all good Oklahomans, Keshia attended the University of Oklahoma. She studied History, with a minor in Modern Literature, but her real goal was finding a husband. Two weeks after graduation she received her Mrs. degree. She and Prince Charming still live in Oklahoma, where they've started a family. Between dirty diapers, Keshia tries to avoid reality as much as possible, stating that her own little world is a much more interesting place to be. Her ramblings can be found at

Trisha J. Wooldridge
(“Finding Fire”)

Trisha J. Wooldridge of Auburn, MA edits and writes for Spencer Hill Press, gets called “Madame President” by colleagues at Broad Universe, and writes about bad-ass faeries, angry mermaids, carnivorous horses, capricious deities, and weird mundane stuff like wine, beer, food, hay-eating horses, Goth bands, and horror stars. She also has a very patient Husband-of-Awesome, a calico horse, and a tabby cat. She also wants to thank the very kind “Linda” from Balticon, who saw her writing “Finding Fire” and quietly paid her dinner tab - hopefully this story shares that little piece of joy!

Nicole Zoltack
(“A Land Without Zombies”)

Nicole Zoltack loves to write just about anything—fantasy, paranormal, horror, romance—for adults, YA, MG, and PBs. She doesn't want to get boxed in by genre—she might be claustrophobic! When she's not writing about girls wanting to be knights, talking unicorns, or zombies, Nicole loves spending time with her loving husband and their three young boys. She enjoys riding horses (pretending they're unicorns, of course) and going to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, dressed in garb. Nicole's books include
Woman of Honor, Knight of Glory
, and
Champion of Valor
and many short stories in various anthologies. To learn more about Nicole and her writing, visit her website at
