Reality would hold something completely different and I
needed to remind myself of that truth.

I walked into the kitchen that smell of wonderful pastries
and paused at the huge marble Island.

“Thanks for your help Nana.”

“My pleasure Lilly. I’m so glad that you rebuilt the house.
I love all the changes you made. I had told your mom to have marble counter
tops put in. They’re wonderful for baking.”

She was busy cleaning up all the flour from the island.

“I remember you saying that. Why do you think I had it put
in?” I smiled to her

“Something has changed in you. I see it Lilly. It looks
good on you.”

“I had the strangest dream last night Nana. I think it was
Alley sending me a message. I know it sounds crazy but I think she was trying
to show me where I was headed Nana.”

“There’s nothing crazy about that Lilly, God works in
mysterious ways. I’m glad you head the meaning. I’m sure your sister is looking
out for you in heaven.”

“I believe that Nana.”

“Ok love, I have plans with Mrs. Peterson this evening. You
know the mouthy woman who always sits in front us in Church.”

“Yeah the one who always speaks her mind; and let’s not
forget the constant ploy to set me up with her grandson.”

Nana laughed.

She came around the counter and kissed me on the cheek.

“Be good Lilly”

“Of Course Nana. Thanks for making the muffins and cake.”

“Just be sure to eat them. You’re getting too thin.”

“Am not!

Stop
finding something to worry about. I’m good Nana. Promise.”

She released me and shook her head.

“I love you Nana.”

“I love you too Lilly”

She left the house and shut the door behind her. I loved
here so much.

Looking around the house…I was home. Everything in its
place and it looked better than any dream.

Why the sudden sadness?

The home
was missing one very important element, my son.

I needed to figure out how I would free myself from Lucian and give
Nicholas a life with me, rather than in hiding.

I missed him desperately.

He has
been the one secret I could not let go of.

It was for his safety not mine.

His father was a monster to say the least.

I had a past that brought me to this and that
past gave me a son.

“Henry” I commanded

“Elizabeth, what is the order?”

“Play IPod; playlist labeled home.”

“Order accepted.”

The song “Making love out of nothing” by air supply blasted
thru all the speakers. It was my mom’s favorite and it suited to have it played
again in my house.

I walked back to the master bedroom. Turning the corner to
the closet and pulling some cloths out, I needed to change and get myself to
Pickles. I had no idea what to expect from this evening. I knew what happened
in my dream, would not occur.

Life was
much more complicated in reality.

Smiling, I was good with it. I would let the night bring
whatever it would. I wasn’t sure if Charlie would show. Not after Julie’s
rendition. I was sure it would be a while before he and I would cross paths.
However, I could be wrong. Remembering how aroused he got and I didn’t even do
anything to prompt it.

Jeans, backless shirt, no bra, my favorite hat and heels; casual
was definitely what I was going for.

I was a single woman; with that in mind, there needed to be
some sex appeal. Just in case.

For
reasons of not wanting a dui, I cabbed it to the bar. I wasn’t one to take
chances.

Walking into the bar, Sam was precisely where I expected
her to be. Drinks already waiting. I pulled the bar stool and sat down to her
amused expression.

“So do I ask or will you dish it?” She grinned, waiting for
my response.

“I’ll dish”

I filled her in on everything I was up to and then some. I
told her about my dream leaving out some details.

“Jesus Lil,” was a repeated response.

Julie showed up wrapping her arms around us both.

I ordered two rounds of shots for us girls.

We laughed, teasing about each of our stories regarding
Charlie.

Explaining to Julie about my
past with Charlie, she was shocked.

Yes,
Charlie and I have known each other for years, even if he doesn’t
remember.

My eighteenth year, our debate
over sex, and even a vending room experience on Prom night.

I dished it all.

Well, not everything, but enough that it made
sense to Julie.

“I have to say Lil…I think you and Charlie might actually
be perfect for each other,” Julie offered.

“Who knows what life holds Julie,” I took down another
shot. “I see Chris walked in.”

“Shit”, she grabbed a shot and took it. “I don’t know if I
can do this”

“You can and you will,” I added

She looked anxiety ridden.

Chris made his way over, kissing Sam on the cheek, then me.
I watched as he looked at Julie. Telltale sign.

He reached behind her, and hugged her. She looked like she
was about to melt in his arms. I nudged her, raising a brow.

“What’s up? I feel like I just walked into a lion’s den?”
Chris looked between us as we grinned.

“Ok, I need to dance, my ass is falling asleep on this bar
stool…Join me Sam.”

She got my drift and we made a dance floor.

Brady walked into the bar, ordering a drink and laughing at
our display. I mouthed over to him “Jealous!”

It didn’t take long for others to join in dancing on our
make shift dance floor. The bar was getting busy, but not too packed. There was
a good amount of people dancing on the floor. Moving tables out of the way, we
started a party. More than what was the norm for a Thursday night.

Looking back over, I raised my drink to Chris and Julie as
it was evident she told him. He had her in fierce hold. Things were definitely
going in the right direction. Brady and Sam dancing away and doing her best to
tease him…they would work it out on their own without my intervention.

It would appear, I would have to settle for some strange.
At least he could dance.

“Dangerous”…laughing that was definitely the warning I
should heed this very willing man. Yes, perfect song.

Dancing away and very drunk…my nose caught his cologne. His
hands landing around my waist; pulling me into him.

“I think she’s too much for you to handle.” He wasn’t
speaking to me, rather the guy I was dancing with.

“What did you do that for? I was rather enjoying his
company” I laughed

“Doubtful…you’ve been waiting for me.”

“Arrogant much?”

“Not when it comes to you.”

Turning around, I pressed my chest to his and wrapped an
arm around his neck. Charlie’s hand fell into play on my exposed back.

“I like the hat”, he offered.”

Looking up to him, I grinned.

“So do I.”

My hand held firm and my other snaked up his chest pulling
on his tie. Lowering him down, I moved for his ear.

My intent was clear. A game of seduction.

I took his ear lobed softly into my sucking it like a
strawberry….and damn he tastes good.

His free hand landed at my ass and pressed me up into him.

“I’m more than willing to play this game Lilly…more willing.”
his voice was seductive and I was becoming needy with want.

“Of course you are. You were more than telling earlier
today.” I slighted my head looking up to him.

The peanut gallery decided to chime in. making their
ridiculous noises.

“Be warned Charlie…you have no idea…she may possible hold
your number already!” Julie yelled out.

“I feel like I’m the underdog here.” He looked to Julie
then back to me.

“That’s because you are,” I offered.

“So, what am I missing Lilly. Enlighten me.”

“It depends Charlie…you plan to fuck me with all the
bottled up envy you hold or are you going to because that’s what you want to
deep down?”

“Angry sex is amazing Lilly and I don’t doubt for a moment
that it won’t be.” He whispered into my neck.

“Sorry to disappoint Charlie. I’m not interested in angry
fucking; for I hold no contempt for you.”

“Maybe it’s Sebastian you prefer to fuck.” The tone of his
voice; the way he looked at me; there it was;…the jealousy and insecurity he
held on to.

I pulled away from him and bit my lip.

I didn’t know if I wanted to laugh, yet
something in me felt for him and this vulnerability.

“You’re neither capable nor ready for me.” I offered.

He grabbed the nape of my neck, and pulled me to him;
grazing his lips against mine.

I shifted my head moving my lips away from his.

“I don’t kiss Charlie.”

“So I’ve heard…you may change your mind.” he smiled looking
to me with so much promise.

“I do recall
once upon a time, a vending room.”

Charlie looked to me grinning, oh yeah, he remembered.

Moving my hand down his chest, I grabbed his very hard and
large arousal, cupping it my very little hand and squeezed.

“When you earn my kiss you’ll have it.”

“Is that a promise Lilly?” He moved slightly and looked
down to me.

Trembling, I closed my eyes and kissed his jaw ever so,
moving to his chin then breaking away to look up at him.

“That is a promise Charlie. Earn it.”

Trapped in his gaze, we stood there for a
moment.

How I wanted him to keep me to
my promise.

Visions from my dream had me
heated.

The way his lips felt, though
only in my mind, I wanted to taste him, feel his mouth on mine.

“Get a room!” Julie and Brady yelled. Their voices broke
our gaze.

He looked down at me grinning; a wicked grin.

Before I knew it, he had my legs wrapped around him and
walked over to the bar.

Dear lord this
was embarrassing.

He just went cave man
on me.

Wrapping my arms around his neck,
he held me with little effort.

“Where is her purse?’ he ordered.

“What the hell are you doing?” I looked down to him.

“Getting a room and earning my kiss,” he replied
arrogantly.

“Put me down Charlie,” I ordered.

“Hell no!

I’m not
affording you a chance to run. You made a promise and I plan on making you keep
it.”

“Charlie, I don’t run you’re safe with putting me down.” I
raised my brows to him.

Chris’s distinct laugh had me turning.

“You not run?” he laughed again shaking his
head from side to side.

“I commend you
if you get into her pants!”

Glaring at
him, I shook my head.

“Please, reality
and your reputation are two very different things.”

He winked at me.

“I also keep my word.”

I offered back to him smugly.

“Touché” Chris laughed.

Looking back to Charlie, “You can put me down, I won’t
run.”

He finally released me and grabbed my hand tight using his
free hand he took my purse from Julie.

Pausing, he looked between Chris and me, questioning.

Pursing my lips smugly, I found myself
amused.

“I don’t believe that getting
into your pants will be difficult.”

Charlie offered arrogantly.

The
smug look on his face and a promise in his eyes sent chills up my spine.

“Did you drive?” Charlie slighted his head.

“Nope…Cabbed it”

“So, Hotel or your place?”

“I moved out today…but my place will do just fine.”

Holding onto my hat he pulled me out of the bar and fast. I
raised my eyebrows to Julie as she shook her head mouthing, “good luck”.

Pulling me into a cab, he reached into his pocket and
pulled out two crisp hundred-dollar bills.

“The first is to get us to her address quickly; the second,
to ignore whatever happens in you back seat.”

I told the drive the address and he grinned shaking his
head while pulling from the parking lot.

Charlie’s hands swiftly pulled me into him. Cupping and kneading
my breast his lips hit my jaw sucking and kissing working his way to my neck.
