She nodded. “I knew that massage was too good to be true.”

He chuckled, and squeezed her gently. “I did massage you, but I also used a little bit of magic to rid your body of the waste making you sick.”

“I knew you were different,” she muttered.

“Cass?”

“You were different,” she insisted. “
More sure of yourself, smarter. You could fix things! I knew a car crash couldn’t change somebody’s personality so completely. You even spoke differently, moved with more grace. The way you talked to people. More formally, with longer sentences, and you asked questions.”

“Too many questions?”

“No. I just mean you were never that interested before, in my work, or,” she shrugged, waving a hand in the air. “You know.”

He did know. Lee had been a simple man. His scope of interests fairly small, which was why Cass had eventually grown bored with him.

“You touched me differently. I knew better, but there was just no other explanation.”

So she’d accepted the changes in him, been grateful for them, and pushed the why from her mind.
She’d been content to consider just how tricky the human brain could be, and grateful that his accident had positive effects and not negative ones.

“I even thought you might have had some sort of spiritual conversion. You know, a kind of near death experience thing where you came out the other side more grateful and determined to live your life better, more fully.”

“In a way I suppose that’s true,” he mused. “When I was given permission to come here I was quite determined to make the most of every moment we had together.”

“You’ve been extremely attentive,” she told him.
“You never were be –” she grimaced. “I mean, he wasn’t – ”

“Shhh,” he kissed
her, pleased when she let him. Though she didn’t close her eyes and lose herself in his arms the way she usually did. Nor did she kiss him back. This time her eyes remained open and she just lay there, watching him. She licked her lips as though tasting him for the first time, and his unrepentant cock jumped as though trying to draw her attention.

Eyoen kept silent though, angling that part of his body into the bed so that she wouldn’t feel it.
He simply held her. They lay in silence for a long while. After awhile she leaned back and stared up at him. Tentatively she reached out to touch his face. Slowly she traced his nose, lips, the sharp planes of his cheeks, the gentle points on the top of his ears. Her head tilted as he shivered, and he could feel her interest growing.

S
he stroked his brows, and when he blinked she felt the thickness of his lashes. When he swallowed she touched his throat to feel the movement. Her small hands drifted the width of his shoulders, tracing the hollows and lines of his chest muscles. She even rubbed his nipples, seemed satisfied when they beaded for her. Her hands moved lower to trace the ridges of his belly.

“You’re hairless,” she whispered, eyes on his cock, which grew rapidly under her
curious gaze.

“Yes.”
He shivered as she slowly, carefully reached out to stroke him. He shuddered as his cock lengthened, and he couldn’t help but arch into her touch, rubbing against her hands and restraining the instinct that urged him to roll her beneath his body and bury himself as far inside her as he would go. He smiled slightly, knowing his feelings were shining from his eyes like a sunbeam, and smiled bigger when she smiled back.

Gently, Cass pressed him onto his back and
rose astride him. He groaned as she stripped the clothes from his body, examining his legs, the crease at his hips, his knees front and back, and finally, the turgid length of his cock.

I don’t know why I’m doing this. I probably shouldn’t be doing this,” she muttered, but seemed fascinated when his eyes rolled back in his head as she rolled his balls in her hands, tugging gently until rapid breaths began to rattle in his chest.

Your skin feels the same as ours,” she whispered. “On the outside, your body is made the same. If it wasn’t for those golden eyes and the color of your skin, no one would ever know you were different. Even those pointy ears aren’t that strange.”

“No?”

She shook her head. “People come in all sizes and shapes. Though none of them anywhere are this vibrant shade of blue,” she admitted, stroking a firm hand along his flank.

Eyoen worked to tamp down the
lust and happiness threatening to overtake him. He didn’t want his powers to surge and create any outward manifestations that might spook her. He’d yet to fully explain his magic, or to show it, beyond that brief demonstration when she brandished her little weapon. Nor did he have any intention of doing so; he had a feeling that would be a tougher pill to swallow.

Such interesting phrases, the Americans have,” Rierdane said. “There is one similar, a tough act to follow, that means the same thing.”

I’m about to come in my girls hand and you’re talking about clichés?

In his minds’ eye Eyoen saw Rierdane blinking like, what?

O
kay, smarty pants. Absent yourself. I need no more of your intellectually appreciative distractions while I bring my woman to heart.

His servant laughed and his presence faded.

“My skin is only blue when I’m completely relaxed,” he said breathlessly. She was stroking his length now, long, firm pulls that made his cock ache for her warmth. “Royals are often disguised to protect ourselves.”

“Protect yourselves from what? Oh my God!” she said suddenly
releasing him. He bit back a groan of disappointment. “You’re not here to take over the Earth are you?”

Eyoen
burst out laughing. “No, my dear. I came here alone, and I want only you.”

Her hand flew to her neck. “What
do you want with me?” she breathed, the thread of fear in her voice harsh and horrible in his ear.

He scowled.
Earthlings and their persistent beliefs that someone from another place was itching to take them over. “Do not fear me, Cass. I would no sooner harm you than I would harm myself. On my star, life is sacred, and one’s mate even more so.”

He couldn’t fathom the look she gave him next. In fact, she
stared at him so long without speaking he grew impatient, wanting her hands back on his body, wanting this discovery period to be over so he could get back to the fucking. But her thoughts were too chaotic and jumbled for him to get a hint of what she was thinking.

“May I read your mind?” he asked, desperate.

Not knowing what was going on when so much was at stake was making him feel frantic. And being sexually frustrated and wound up wasn’t helping matters. There had been no way to plan for this. Sure he’d thought it over, had played out different scenarios. But as is often the case, reality had little to do with his imaginings.

For the first time in his life h
e had no idea what to do with a woman, no idea what to say, and there was no one there to advise him since he’d told Rierdane to leave them alone. For the first time in Eyoen’s privileged life he was – what was the phrase? Rierdane would know. Ah, yes – flying by the seat of his pants.

If one of his houri
s ever got in a snit; he’d just seduce them into better humor. Turn the tables, play the servant to them for awhile and pander to their whims, most of which centered on fucking him, sucking him or getting the same in return. If that failed – and it rarely did – there were always gifts. Candy was a favorite since all their other needs were met; they had little need for credits until they were released from service.

What could he give Cass? He wondered if she would like Cyani candy. It
was certainly sweet enough to feed her sweet tooth. Would she think he was treating her like a child? He’d have Rierdane fetch some. It was worth a try. No matter her reaction, once she tried the gift she was sure to like it. Then –

“You can read minds too?” she laughed. “
Man. You’re something else, Eyoen.”

He grinned at her. It was the first time she’d ever used his name. He liked the sound of it on her tongue.
He’d like anything on her tongue. He reached for her, intending to turn the timber of the conversation to something of an amorous nature, but she reached out to him first. She turned his hand in hers. It was nearly twice the size of hers. She seemed intrigued by it, turning it this way and that, stretching his fingers out, looking at his fingernails, tracing the lines on his palm with her own.

“I knew something was different,” she said softly. “
I mean, I never would have guessed how different. But I knew. I’m sorry I’m repeating myself, I’m just –” she shrugged.

“What gave me away?” he asked gently, instinctively knowing the best way to get through this was to let her talk things out.

“Little things. You called me my dear, and you seemed smarter. More thoughtful, your lovemaking was different. You no longer drank at all. All you wanted to do was follow behind me. But the main thing was your touch.” She picked up his hand and held it in front of their faces. She stretched out his long fingers and pressed their palms together. His hand completely swallowed hers.

“How so?” he asked, though he knew very well. Still, he was a male, for all he was a demon, and what male doesn’t like to hear his female speak well of his sexual prowess?

“You were slower, more focused, more dominant, more,” she paused, searching for the right word. “You’re more sensual. You play with my mind just as much as you play with my body. Were you using some sort of magic on me?” she asked suddenly.

“Not deliberately.
I told you earlier there is a royal pheromone that comes with this shade of skin that makes us more attractive to sex partners, and during lovemaking the chemicals I emit will heighten my partner’s pleasure. But there is nothing I can do about it. It’s a natural emission, one triggered by emotion and desire. It is not intended to harm, only to protect, to facilitate propagation of the species.”

He frowned when she looked disappointed.

“What is it?”

She shrugged. “Our attraction seems a bit false now that I know it was chemically induced.”

“No, no, my darling, you misunderstand. My body emits pheromones that heighten sexual attraction. They don’t create it if it’s not there. I could make you want me with magic, but I would never cast that kind of spell on you. I want you to want me for me. May I read your mind?” he asked again.

“No! That’s too much.
I’m still trippin’ off the fact that you look human, but you’re blue and you’re a demon. I can’t have you traipsing around inside my head. My thoughts are so jumbled and confused right now you’d probably think I was crazy anyway.”

He
laughed gently. “Some of the demonarchies resemble the picture you likely have in your mind, but my particular caste is humanoid, except for,” he stopped.

“Except for what?”

He hesitated, not wanting her to withdraw now that she’d warmed to him.

“Tell me,” she ordered.

“Well, my people can do magic,” he began.

“You said that already. What were you really about to say?”

When he hesitated again she scowled. “I have claws,” he blurted. “If I engage in a physical battle they come out.”

“You mean like a weapon
to defend yourself?”

He nodded.

She thought that over, and he felt her relax slightly. “OK. That’s not so bad. Anything else?”

He hesitated again, then sighed. There was no easy
way to say this. “During sex when I come, and I’m in my true form, there’s a surge in my powers.”

She
stared, waiting for him to continue. When he didn’t she prompted him. “And what happens when the surge hits?”

He swallowed. “My cock will get a little bigger.”

She stared. “How much bigger?”

“Not big enough to hurt you,” he assured her. “But once it happens nothing can separate us until the orgasm is over.”

She nodded slowly. “Okay. Different, but are you sure it doesn’t hurt?”

He shook his head.

“Okay. Wait. How long does your orgasm last?”

“Perhaps three or four times longer than yours.”

“Okay,” she said again. “Is that all?”

He shook his head. When she sighed irritably, he gave up and began to list things off. His sweat acted as an aphrodisiac.
His sex drive was higher than the average man. His particular species of demon liked to bite during sex.

Cass laughed. “So do we!”

He opened his mouth and showed her his incisors.

“Oh.”

“It’s not painful,” he assured her. The compounds in his saliva were the same as his sweat and all of his other body fluids and would make the act intensely pleasurable. Nature had ensured that when a demon found his mate he could literally hold her to him during the sex act, that she could not escape or be taken from him easily.

“I realize this may sound a bit animalistic to you, but it won’t seem strange after you experience it and see that there are no ill effect
s associated with the act.”
