Life with Eyoen was interesting. Living with a man naturally took some getting used to, but learning to deal with Lee leaving wet towels on the bathroom floor was nothing compared to Eyoen’s magic. He had her mouth hanging open so often, Cass suspected she could start a lucrative second career as a fly catcher.

Thankfully being startled
more often than she’d like wasn’t hurtful. Sometimes he made things appear or disappear or fixed things without even the benefit of the snap of his fingers. He seemed to will things into existence. Then there was his ability with her specifically. She no longer had any secrets from him.

No
t that it was a problem for him to know her net worth down to the penny – he’d casually mentioned the number while she was going over a report from her accountant. She hadn’t known he was even in the room when she wondered aloud how the hell she’d managed to spend nearly $27,000 in a month, and facetiously muttered that she would be broke soon if she didn’t get herself together. He hastened to assure her that she would not. That the month in question was an aberration and that she was usually quite frugal.

She had stared at h
im like he was a ghost. For a second he stared back, unsure what he’d said wrong, but he quickly realized what was up, and assured her that he would never upon point of death endanger her in any way, including repeating anything related to her finances or personal affairs. He told her earnestly that her comfort, safety and happiness were his primary concerns, and that of anyone, she could trust him most of all.

And despite never whole heartedly trusting a man before, ever,
Cass did trust him. They hadn’t known one another very long. But in that short period of time Eyoen had endeared himself to her, showing with action rather than speech what she meant to him.

For instance, she was talking to Priti, laughing and
not paying attention to where she was going and she accidentally stubbed her toe on the bedroom doorframe. Eyoen, who’d been lying on the bed reading – lying in bed was his favorite spot in the house because he was constantly trying to lure her back into it; his first order of magic had been to refit it with the fluffiest, softest sheets and pillows she’d ever seen – was at her side instantly. He picked her up, set her on the bed and the instant his hand touched her smarting foot the pain disappeared and a lovely warmth took its place.

When he felt her relax the warmth spread up her ankle, calf, thigh
, and when it hit that spot between her legs the heat was so intense, she felt crazed. Sensations built inside her like a wave, radiating out like he had her entire body hotwired.

“Do you feel better, my dear?”
He teased.

Panting, Cass shook her head. “Not as good as I’m gonna feel,” and with a strength she didn’t know she had, pulled him
right into her.

H
e was right there, grinning, more than willing to fill the yawning void that had her back scratching the sheets and her head tossing on the pillow. He had a long easy way with his hips, fortunate since he wasn’t exactly average size. But he knew just how to stroke her. Sometimes he’d go hard and fuck her into the bed as though he meant to mark her inside, where she would feel it in her soul.

She liked to
wrap her legs tight around his hips, but sometimes he’d sling one or both of her legs over his shoulders. He liked it when she was helpless to do anything but take his hard, fast loving. Then when she was sobbing, tears running into her hair, he’d slow things down and finesse her body until the tears rolled for a different reason.

That’s when the warmth
came. She’d begun to think of it as his signature. Whenever the warmth came pleasure followed. Whether he was taking away her pain, or gently leading her down the yellow brick road to orgasm, she knew she could relax – most times she had no choice thanks to his pheromones – and enjoy the ride.

Cass kn
ew exactly when those lovely chemicals of his unleashed. His gold colored eyes intensified in hue and would blaze a brilliant sun yellow then dim as if the color was mixing itself behind his pupils.

Then
his cock grew. He’d warned her they would be locked together when it happened, but rather than think too hard on that strange aspect of his physiology, she focused on the intense pleasure that came just before climax instead.

She never noticed that his orgasms lasted lo
nger than normal. Hers lasted longer too. She didn’t pay attention to much in those moments besides pleasure. The pleasure he gave so generously, him on top of her, shuddering, shaking, clutching her close like she was the only thing that kept him from drowning in a sea all alone, made her feel like a God. It deserved focus, to be savored.

But that didn’t mean he wasn’t weird.

“You are the laziest demon God ever put breath into,” she told him, when he held out a hand and a 7Up appeared in it, poured into a glass with three ice cubes.

He
just blinked at her, and poofed a second glass into her hand.

“What are you doing anyway
, huh? You been hunched over that paper for dunno how long.”

“Making a list.”

“Of?”

“We have to pick up a few things for my family before we go home,” he explained, holding out a sheet of paper.

Cass’ eyes widened when she saw how tiny the writing on the list was. There had to be at least 200 items on it.

“Uh, can you make the writing bigger?”

The paper tripled in size.

“Thanks,” she said wryly, reading the neat script. “Yogurt? Lemons, turkey bacon
, 7Up. Nail polish various colors?”

“For my sisters and my mother,” he explained.

“But you put 350 bottles. How many sisters do you have?”

Cass eyes narrowed as Eyoen swallowed. “Who is all the
nail polish for? Are you married?” she yelled.

“No.

Cass visibly relaxed.

“But I do have to buy a few gifts for other women.”

“Hu
h?”

“You know that I love you,” he began, pulling her close.

Unable to resist Cass draped herself over his lap and kissed him lingeringly. “Yes,” she said, against his lips.

“Well, I had a few lovers before you.”

Cass laughed. “I kinda figured, baby.” He made love like a dream. No matter how naturally talented no one achieved his level of skill without practice.

“OK. Well, b
ack home, my lovers –”

“You need to buy gifts for them too?”

“Actually, I do.”

Cass frowned. “What kinda relationships do you guys have on that star? Here, once you break up with someone you’re no longer obligated to buy them gifts.”

“I don’t have that kind of relationship with them.”

Cass laughed. “What are they, your harem?”

Eyoen just blinked at her.

“You have a harem?” she yelled, popping off his lap like her butt had springs.

He shrugged helplessly. “Not that big a harem. There are only 30 women.”

Cass found out later t
he exact number was closer to 300. There were 30 that he saw regularly.

Hands out like a supplicant
Eyoen’s eyes pleaded for understanding. “I cannot come home without something for each of my houris. It would be an insult after all of their years of faithful service. It’s only a token, my dear. Nothing terribly expensive. A gesture, really.”

“You have a harem?”
she repeated.

He nodded miserably.
“On the star, it was a sign of wealth and power to be able to afford to keep so many pleasure slaves.”

“That shits over, Eyoen,” she informed him, not
appeased when he nodded vigorously. “I don’t share. I’ve taken all this demon shit pretty well, if I do say so myelf, but I’ll die and go to hell before I let you pop your big ass back in some harem and –”

“I wouldn’t dream of visiting them again, my love
,” he said quickly. “I plan to disburse them to my brothers and to good homes at the soonest opportunity. I want no one but you.”

She eyed him, snorting skeptically. “What’s cheating on that star of yours anyway?”

“I don’t understand,” he said cautiously.

“Cheating! Adultery, not keeping your dick in your pants when you’re committed to someone. What
happens when you cheat on your girlfriend?”

He shrugged. “
I have no knowledge of this cheating. There are no girlfriends, my dear. Only wives, daughters and houris. There may be a little hand holding or walking together when two demons are courting, but chaperones prevent most of what passes between your boy and girlfriends here on Earth. Girls find their station in life early.”

“You mean
they figure out if they’re destined to be a whore or a wife early?”

He nodded. “Except there are no whores
; they are houris. That other word does not exist on Cyanus. We value women too much to mistreat them the way prostitutes are often treated on this planet. Their equivalent on the star are paid well, and most find comfortable homes in harems like mine. Certainly no one is allowed to raise a hand to any women with violence in mind. Women are valued in my home,” he added. “Their worth is priceless as they are the guardians of new birth, nurturers of life and of the home.”

Sighing irritably, Cass went back to reading the list.
“This list is going to cost a fortune, but we can get started on it tomorrow.”

“Do not worry about the cost, my dear. I have made a few Earth dollars since I’ve been here.”

“Doing what? Do you realize how much money you’re gonna need to clear that list?”

“I was playing the stock market with my allowance.”

She laughed. “I thought you were kidding when you talked about your investments. Had some luck did you?”

He nodded, grinning. “Yes, so far I’ve made roughly $
1,609,000.00.”

She blinked at him. “You – y
ou made – it’s been like a week.”

He nodded, but now he looked confused. “Is that terrible? I will do better, my love. Never fear that I cannot take care of you in the manner to which you have been accustomed. On Cyanus I am very wealthy.

Cass shook h
er head and laughed. “No, silly. You did great! I don’t know anyone who could make that much money in so little time. That’s more than enough to buy your groceries and nail polish.”

Her smile died at the mention of the nail polish, and wisely, Eyoen took the list from her hand and
made it vanish.

“Yes, dear.
But if it’s not enough I can always send my servant home for Earth credits.”

“Money,” Cass corrected absently. “Wait. H
ow many people are we shopping for exactly?”

I have six brothers, three sisters, my mother and father, and we should have extra things for the servants. Then I usually have other relatives floating around the palace, uncles and aunts, cousins and such.”

She whistled, then her brow wrinkled again. “Wait. Did you say servant?”

“Yes. I was sent to this planet with my servant Rierdane.”

“Where is he? I’ve never seen you with anyone.”

“You would like to meet him?” Eyoen asked.

Sure. Is there some reason why I shouldn’t?”

“No. Rierdane, come forth.”

Cass barely held back a scream when the light next to Eyoen began to shimmer and bend and suddenly a man stood there.

A tall, slender man with pale blue skin bowed.

Cass blinked at the man. “Where did you come from?”

“My mind.
” Eyoen smiled. “Cass, please meet my servant and a long time friend of my family, Rierdane – hmmm. Rierdane, what is your surname?”

trans Linub,” Rierdane said, bowing from the waist. “It is my honor to meet you, your future highness.”

Cass just blinked, swaying on her feet. “I, I –”

“Sire, I think she needs to sit down,” Rierdane said urgently, and Eyoen rushed over and carried her to the bed.

Cass’ mouth opened and closed several times, but all they heard was one rather forlorn squeak.

“She’s shocked by my somewhat unorthodox appearance,” Rierdane said.

“You think?” she breathed.

Eyoen laughed. “Don’t be alarmed, my dear. Rierdane means us no harm. He would sooner die than harm a hair on my or your head.”

Rierdane nod
ded.

“But, I, if, has he been in your head this whole time?”

Eyoen nodded. “I’m sorry I did not tell you, my dear. I just didn’t think of it. I didn’t mean to startle or scare you.”

Still staring at Rie
rdane, who smiled calmly at her, Cass slowly shook her head. “It, it’s alright. I, I guess there will be a few more surprises between us before it’s all said and done.” She stuck her hand out. “Nice to meet you, Rierdane. My name is Cass.”
