“I’m really not tryin’ to hear this shit. I’m not about to let this shit happen, yo. I said she wasn’t here, a’ight?” Knox huffed.

As far as looks were concerned, this woman put me to shame, I swear. She was brown-skinned, tall, with deep dimples, even though she wasn’t even smiling. She had long, curly, black hair. She looked like she hopped straight out of a got-damn Pantene Pro-V commercial. She stood there, dressed in a tight-ass, black tank top, dark denim skinny jeans, and black Gucci stilettos. This bitch was gorgeous.

She caught sight of me walking towards the two of them. She shoved Knox in his chest. “So then who the fuck is this, Timothy?” Oh, and she had the nerve to have a foreign accent. “Is this Kourtney Chambers? You just told me that she wasn’t here!”

Knox looked at me, exhaling deeply, and then back at the woman. “Bella, you really gonna do this? You’re not even on duty! You’re on got-damn vacation!”

“Knox,” I walked towards him. “What’s going on? Who is this and why is she looking for me?”

“This is my mother’s little sister, Bella. She works undercover for the Los Angeles Police Department—Hollywood Station, to be exact.” Knox looked at his aunt with disgust. “You don’t even know the whole story! Kourtney doesn’t deserve this bullshit! You really gonna do this?”

“Do what?” I asked, looking at the two of them looking at one another.

Bella looked at her nephew and then back at me. “I got a call that Priscilla Bailey collapsed outside of the airport in Los Angeles this afternoon. She was rushed to the hospital. Turns out there was massive swelling to her brain. Reelz TV has the footage that you nearly beat Priscilla to death at the opening of your club. The state has pressed attempted murder charges against you. Either you turn yourself in, or I’m taking you in myself.”
