“Of course that bitch was,” I said, pacing the floor of my room at the Woodfield Suites. “But I can’t help but to wonder if Meka really is alive and the shit is gonna drive me fuckin crazy if I don’t find out for sure.”

“I know Meka means the world to you, but we need to get out of here. It’s way past hot. It’s like the Arizona desert around here.”

I stopped pacing and looked at Jahlil like he was crazy. I was about to go in on his ass about what I felt about his opinion but his cell started vibrating. He looked at the number that popped up on his screen like it was the strangest shit he’d ever seen.

“Heriberto from LMF. The cat you robbed.”

I quickly walked over and sat down next to him on the love seat. We both stared at the phone before he finally answered. Jahlil greeted him in Spanish and then listened for what seemed like forever for me. I could tell by the expression on Jahlil’s face as he listened that the Mexican cat wasn’t calling to say what’s up.

“He told me that my new lady must really be special for me to choose her over LMF. He said his new lady is special too and she would like to speak to you.” He looked at me and took a deep breath as he handed me the phone.

I already knew before I put the phone to my ear. Kim K. was laughing as I held the phone to my ear.

“Let Meka go bitch. This is between us.”

“It was until you killed momma. So just know bitch that Meka is goin to die one day. It all depends on how I feel when I wake up.” She laughed. “And you can tell Jahlil that my new man said he’s fired because he betrayed the family for some pussy he’s gonna have to die.” She ended the call but the drama was just starting.

There was a new list of muthafuckas I had to kill. Of course Kim K. was on top. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy another day until that bitch was put to rest. But now I had Heriberto and LMF to worry about. A scared bitch would’ve tried to run. But where are you going to hide from a Mexican cartel? A dumb bitch would’ve wasted her time trying to come up with some crazy ass plan to outsmart them. A bad bitch was going to draw her line in the ground and take out as many as she could. My line was drawn. Now all I could do was hope I lived to see the end of each day.

At least I had someone on my side who was ready to ride to the bloody end. He was sitting behind the tint of the Charger along with me. We watched the nigga Rico, come out of the shop. He casually swagged out into the darkness of the night with no idea of what was waiting for him. Jahlil slipped out of the Charger, still hobbling on the crutches as he made his way over to  Rico. He looked suspicious for a second but didn’t think a cripple could do his ass any harm.

I waited until Jahlil had him looking in the opposite direction before I slid out of the Charger with the nine milli in hand. Rico was responsible for Meka going missing. That had definitely earned him a spot on my new list. But first I needed to see if he knew anything that could help me find out if Meka was alive or not….
