“My girl be killing them today,” her dad, Eric said as she walked into the kitchen. Natasha smiled as she put her handbag on the table.
“
Thank you daddy and good morning,” she cooed as she walked to the table. Eric smiled at her as he rose to join her at the table. “Hi nan,” Natasha said as she took a seat.
“
Hey baby, I made you pancakes,” her nan Estelle said with a smile. She smiled back as she dug in. She was certainly nervous but her stomach had none of those nerves.
“
So, third time’s the charm, huh?” Eric asked with a smile. It was obvious that he was proud of his daughter.
“
Yeah, so I’ve heard,” Tasha said between mouthfuls.
“
You are going to be great honey,” Estelle said touching her hand.
“
Fingers crossed,” Natasha said as she looked at her phone. “Oh my God, is that the time?” she asked no one in particular as she gulped down her juice. She grabbed her bag and headed out. “Hey dad,” she called from the door. “I’m taking your car,” she said as she grabbed his keys.
“
Whoa, let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Eric said as he stood up.
“
Daddy, look at me,” Natasha said as she twirled around. “Do you really picture all of this, in
that
?” she asked pointing at her car, a mini cooper. “I hardly look serious in that car,” she added.
“
The girl does have a point,” Estelle said matter-of-factly as she took a sip of coffee. Natasha shot her a dirty look. Eric sighed. “Fine,” Eric said as he succumbed to his fate. He never seemed to win anytime he was against these two.
“
Yes!” Natasha shrieked as she headed out.
“
A thank you would have been nice,’ Eric said to Estelle who replied by taking a nice long sip.
“
I heard that,” Natasha called out as she got in the car. Though NCCS was just a few minutes away, the drive there seemed to take forever. But when she finally pulled into the NSCS driveway, she found herself a bit more relaxed. She was feeling fairly confident as she got out of the car even though her feet wobbled lightly under her. She was not sure what happened but the next thing she knew, she was glancing up at a friendly looking face. She suddenly realized that the friendly face was a stranger who had her cradled on his lap.
“
Welcome back,” he said with a smile.
“
What….what happened?” she asked sitting up. “Who are you?” she asked as she smoothed her skirt down.
“
Mitchell Schmidt,” the man said. “You passed out. Drink this, it will give you some energy,” he added handing her some grape soda.
“
I passed out…..” Natasha said in a panic. “
Great. Now I have definitely lost it.”
“
Relax,” Mitchell said as he made her sip some soda. “Nothing is ever that serious,” he added.
“
Yes it is,” Natasha said as she struggled to get to her feet. “I am supposed to be interviewing for this position today……” “….I’m sure they’ll understand,” Mitchell curt her short. She smiled weakly.
“
Hope you are right,” she said as she struggled to stand up. Mitchell helped her up and stood next to her for a while.
“
I better walk you to the lobby,” he said. Natasha looked at him ad nodded. She hated feeling so weak. Mitchell put his arm around his waist as they walked together towards the reception.
“
If ever there was a time I felt insecure, it’s now,”
she thought as they walked through NSCS’ lobby. The other interviewees, or whatever they were, were already there. All seated giving her a ‘you are so done’ look.
“
You okay?” Mitchell asked looking at her. She could see the concern in his eyes but she was not very sure what it was for. “Hey, you better clear that grape soda,” he said gesturing at the can in her hands.
“
This is embarrassing.” Natasha said under her breath.
“
Oh please. I pass out in front of strangers all the time,” Mitchell said looking at her. She laughed as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“
Thanks, really,” she said as Mitchell looked at his watch.
“
Oh crap,” he started. “I’m really sorry but I will have to leave you now,” he said with that same killer smile.
“
I can’t than you enough,” Natasha said clutching the can in her hands. She could feel her palms getting a bit sweaty.
“Damn it, girl, stay down,”
she thought as she tried calming herself down.
“
Don’t mention it just stay strong,” Mitchell said as he walked off. He turned his head and gave her a little wink. “
Fuck that’s sexy.”
As he walked away, she couldn’t keep her eyes off his ass. He did have a sexy one, so she couldn’t be blamed. His dark wavy hair bounced with every step he took. He kind of reminded him of Grey’s Anatomy’s Derek Shepherd. Maybe he was her very own Dr. Shepherd. Her very own McDreamy.
“
Natasha Black,” the receptionist called snapping her out of her daydreaming state.
“
Yeah, that’s me,” she said quickly.
“
They are ready for you,” the woman said.
“
This is it,”
she thought as she took a deep breath. She took her clutch bag in her hands and slowly but surely made her way to the board room. She knew exactly where to go but she had no idea what to expect.
“
Miss Black, nice to see you again,” Patrick, the head interviewer said as she walked in.
“
Thank you for having me,” she said as she took a seat in front of the four man panel.
“
Well, today Mr. Schmidt will be joining us,” Patrick said. Natasha took another deep breath.
“
You are playing with the big guns now.”
“
Meet Mitchell Schmidt, the CEO,” Patrick said as McDreamy walked in. Natasha flushed. She could suddenly feel a sea of emotions overwhelm her. Her cheeks were flushed, her nipples felt a bit hard and her pussy, well her pussy was almost completely drenched.
”
Fuck.”
“
Nice to meet you Mr. Schmidt,” she said surprised that her voice did not shake at all.
“
Nice to know your name,” Mitchell said with a smile as he sat down. “Shall we begin?” he said as he got his questions ready. Natasha wanted to scream or something. This would be a hard one, the hardest one yet.
“
What the fuck was that?”
Natasha wondered as she walked back to the parking lot. A few hours ago, she was sure that she would ace the interview but now, she did not have so much faith in herself. She got into the driver’s seat and threw her head back with a sigh. She ran her fingers through her thick hair as she recalled the last couple of hours.
“
This is so damn messed up.”
She thought as she took her phone out of her purse. “Celia would know exactly what to do,” she said to herself as she scrolled for her best friend’s number. She finally found it and swiped the screen to call. Her fingers were trembling as the phone rang on the other end. A soft knock on her window sent her into panic mode. The phone dropped to the floor as her hand landed on the car horn resulting in a resounding honk in the serene environment.
“
Fuck!” she said loud enough as she turned her head to see a smiling Mitchell standing outside the car. She nervously placed a finger on the power window and smiled as the window slowly rolled down.
“
Do I need to get you some ice for that?” Mitchell asked gesturing to the bruise that was now forming on her wrist. She looked at her hand and let out a nervous laugh.
“
I’ll be fine, Mr. Schmidt,” she said politely. She felt her heart skip as he smiled at her again.
“Darn, Tasha. What is with you today?”
she wondered. Could it be that her dry spell was playing into her personality making her the biggest klutz she knew?
“
Call me Mitch. Mr. Schmidt is my dad,” Mitchell said looking at her. She smiled at the statement. For some reason, even the most cliché remarks made this man unbelievably desirable.
“
OK, Mitch,” she said feeling a bit more relaxed.
“
You seemed really nervous in there,” he said leaning against the car. “I really thought you to be a bit more confident,” he added.
“
I passed out and the CEO of the company I was interviewing for gave me first aid,” she said looking t him. “Tell me that wouldn’t make you a bit nervous,” she said again. She involuntarily tucked a hair strand behind her hair. She always did that when she blushed.
“
True that,” Mitchell said. “You still did well enough though.”. she felt her cheeks flush.
“
I guess we’ll see in a few weeks,” she said laughing nervously.
“
There is a coffee shop around the corner that makes a killer latte,” he said passively. It seemed obvious to Natasha that this man had not had so many negative answers in his life. She smiled up at him.
“
Mitchell Schmidt, are you asking me out?” she asked surprised at her new found boldness.
“
Matter of fact I am,” he answered. “Now get out of the car. You’re making me look creepy to onlookers,” he added looking around. Natasha laughed as she reached for her purse. Once she was out of the car, she found herself looking at her rear view mirror for self approval. For some reason this would have to be the first guy she had met in over two years who wasn’t a complete douche. She almost wanted to kick herself as she stood in front of Mitchell who was obviously making his own mental judgment.
“
You know between the passing out and me carrying you, it might have slipped my mind to tell you how good you look,” he said effortlessly. She smiled at him and adjusted her skirt waistline.
“
Thank you, Mitch,” she said finally getting the courage to look him in the eye.
“
You know, not many women are able to pull off the glamorous official look all at once,” he said again. It was obvious that he was hard at work trying to charm her pants off and she did not want to let him know that it was working.
Natasha nodded her approval as they began walking away from the parking lot. The walk though short was in a word uncomfortable as far as Natasha was concerned. Her loins were still heating up and the fact that this man made him blush almost every other second wasn’t helping. She kept her head low as she followed him out of the company premises and onto the street.
She looked around as vehicles sped by like police cars in hot pursuit of some criminal. She suddenly felt an overwhelming wave as he slid his arm around his waist. She looked up at him and almost jumped his bones.
“Oh my God, he is going to make a move right here,”
she thought as she looked into his intense eyes.
“
Let’s get you on this other side,” he said softly moving her to his left side, away from the oncoming traffic. “I would hate for anything to happen to the future of NSCS,” he said with a smile. Natasha felt her heart skip a beat again. Was this one of the people who expected you to sleep with them for a promotion or a position in the company?
“
No Tasha, stop that,”
she scolded herself. She pushed the perverted thought to the back of mind. Sometimes people were nice for the sake of being nice, right? She shrugged in an attempt not to think about it anymore.
“
Thanks,” she managed to say as they approached a coffee shop.
“
Could you believe it if I told you that this place has been around for more than ten years?” he asked as they walked through its doors. Natasha looked around. The place looked absolutely fabulous. It was kind of like Starbucks, only better.
“
A couple of years back, the lady who owns the place wanted to close down because she couldn’t afford the costs. It wasn’t as busy back then,” Mitchell explained as they walked in. “NSCS offered to partner with her fifty-fifty and voila,” he added with a smile.
“
Shit, he can be so full of himself,”
Natasha thought looking at him.
That would have to have been the first negative quality he had.
“
Good investment?” she asked looking at him.
“
Never regretted it especially since it doubles up as a bar after ten,” he said, a wide grin on his face.
“
Hey Mitch!” A young man called from behind the counter. “The usual?” he asked. Mitch waved at him and nodded.
“
You are a popular guy,” Natasha said to him with a smile.
“
Just around here,” he said as a waitress brought them two lattes. He lifted his cup and smiled. “To the start of something nice?” he asked looking at her. She took her cup and lifted it before flashing him a smile.
