I’m running, meeting a friend and doing errands! Yay!:)

And then there’s this tweet, where Kate obviously forgets that almost all moms have to work for a living while helping to support their family, unlike Kate who is home alone all day long going shopping and tanning and getting her nails and hair done:

..ohhh I just giggled out loud as I set my alarm clock for crack of dawn for the FINAL time until next school year! Now THAT makes me happy!

In case you missed that, Kate just told you that rather than having only 9 hours to herself all day at home while you and I are working, she’ll now have the next 3 months off as well.

THE FASHION & BEAUTY EXPERT

This tweet gives you an idea of the extent of Kate’s expertise on beauty:

Beauty blog #2 just posted! Go read more helpful tips at: kateplusmy8.com

When you go to Kate’s website and click on the Fashion & Beauty tab, you will see a couple of blog entries from Kate’s professional makeup artist, Deanna Bell. If Kate
were being honest, her personal fashion and beauty tips would read like this:

Go to a posh salon in New York to get a professional to do your hair.

Get freebies from cosmetic companies.

Get freebies from clothing companies.

Get your makeup artist friend to write your blog posts about beauty tips.

THE HEALTH & FITNESS EXPERT

Kate fancies herself a fitness expert because she runs many miles. But all of my research and observations strongly suggest that the biggest reason that Kate runs is because she wants to get away from her kids as much as possible. The welcome side-effect of all that running for her is that it also helps her remain as skinny as possible. Unfortunately, neither of these reasons for running has anything to do with being fit and healthy. And much of Kate’s “expert” fitness advice is not only incorrect, it is often dangerous.

Just got back from my 7.16 mile in 1hr 12min…1
st
run outside in awhile..was georgous&reminded me why I am a runner!Renewed hope in life!:)

Holy cow! I just ran 18 miles! I’m amazed… And very hungry and extremely tired! :) but very happy! :)

THE HOT, FIT MOM

Every woman likes to feel attractive and fit. Not every woman constantly proclaims how attractive and fit and “hot” she is. Kate has raised praising herself to an art form.

xxxxx

Awkward:When a woman tells me in groc store:’my husband saw you in ppl mag&sd ‘Kate is smokin’ hot!’ That never gets easier…what2say?!

THE NOT MEDIOCRE COUPON BLOGGER

Before her first online coupon blog even posted, she was already tweeting about how hard she was working.

Sorry guys! I’m working—and loving it! :) busy!

Another day, another city! I love my job! Coupons and saving excite me!! Yay!!!

What Kate was referring to here was simply her visit to Coupon Cabin’s office in Whiting, Indiana. Hiring Kate appeared to be little more than a publicity stunt to get their name out. If not a publicity stunt, then Coupon Cabin did not do their research to find out exactly what they would be getting, or not getting, from Kate Gosselin. The old adage that “no publicity is bad publicity” does not apply in the case of Kate Gosselin, as I’m sure they have found out by now.

Good news! Over time I’ve learned a lot about how 2 stretch a budget!Excited 2 share my tips as a blogger @CouponCabin!

Educating the world about how to save money isn’t really working too well for Kate, given the fact that she drives three cars costing a total of around $200,000, including a Mercedes, a Toyota Sequoia and an Audi sports car. She was supposed to be giving us mediocre people advice on how to save money, but
that is pretty difficult to do for someone who takes a limo to New York City every 6 weeks to get her hair cut and colored at one of the most expensive salons in the country; who follows her salon visits with trips to a very expensive restaurant in the city; who says she buys and eats only organic foods, shopping regularly at Whole Foods, one of the most expensive grocery stores; and who pays a small army to maintain a 23-acre compound in the country.

Here she takes a stab at helping her loyal followers on her blog:

“This is a really quick idea for breakfast that I recently thrilled my kids with! I bought a “pancake pen” at Williams-Sonoma and made pancakes shaped into hearts and my kids first letters of their names! …”

Within minutes of this blog being posted on Kate’s website, her tweeties began to point out that rather than going to a high-end store like Williams Sonoma and buying their pancake pen for 10 dollars, Kate could have purchased her pancake pen at her local craft store for under 2 dollars. Kate then returned to her website to post a “Money Saving Tip.”

The following article by Jen Chaney of the Washington post sums up Kate Gosselin’s “not mediocre” job as a coupon blogger.

Kate Gosselin: setting new standards in coupon blogging.

Earlier this month, in a watershed moment for coupon blogging,
Kate Gosselin was named coupon blogger
at CouponCabin.com.

“We look forward to sharing the unique insight she has gained over the years,” the president of CouponCabin said in the press release that touted the announcement, a comment that suggested that, as a mother of eight, Gosselin would impart important lessons about finding deals and saving money.

Well, we’re now 10 days and four posts into Gosselin’s new gig. And here’s what we’ve learned about shopping and family budgeting from Kate Gosselin.

1. Kate Gosselin did not have a face-lift.

In an
item posted yesterday
, Gosselin confirmed that she has had no work done on her face. “With all of the buzz about me having had a facelift, I will confirm that I have not had one (I am only 36!!!),” she wrote.

I am grateful for this blog post because the buzz about the former “
Kate Plus 8
” star’s possible face-lift was so deafening that I could barely have conversations with people. “So what happened at work today? I said — WHAT HAPPENED AT WORK TODAY? I’M SORRY FOR YELLING BUT IT’S OBVIOUSLY HARD FOR YOU TO HEAR ME OVER THE INCREDIBLE BUZZ ABOUT KATE GOSSELIN’S POSSIBLE FACE-LIFT.” Yes, that’s exactly how nightly dinner discussions with my husband had been going until now. Thanks to Gosselin, peace has been restored to our home.

2. Cyber Monday is much, much better than Black Friday.

Gosselin made this point in a blog post about
Black Friday
as well as one on
Cyber Monday
. This observation was in no way influenced by the fact that Gosselin is working for a Web-based enterprise that specializes in online shopping discounts.

3. In 2004, it was possible to get a really good deal on stockings at Pottery Barn.

This was a key point in that Cyber Monday post; the former
“Dancing With the Stars” contestant
recalled how, shortly after the birth of her sextuplets, she opted to shop online rather than drag all six babies and her two older children to the mall. As a result, “on that Monday following the Thanksgiving weekend, I
was able to find a great deal on Pottery Barn monogrammed stockings for each of’’ the kids, she wrote.

Hey, that’s useful information. All you need to do is purchase a time machine (I understand Amazon.com is offering a sweet deal on those right now), set it for 2004, then immediately get online and buy those monogrammed stockings. Assuming, of course, that Gosselin’s purchase didn’t deplete the entire stock.

4. There actually are some useful coupon codes in Gosselin’s post.

Links to discounts at stores ranging from Kohl’s to Bath & Bodyworks can be found in Gosselin’s blog. However, I am guessing those links are coming from a CouponCabin staffer who (again, guessing) probably dumps embed code into the posts Gosselin writes.
