“I don’t see what this has to do with me. I didn’t do anything to the bitch…yet anyway. Where does she get off demanding anything of anyone for that matter? It must be in the genes, that’s it. Are all vampires stubborn pains in the ass?” This last was asked just as Tucker carried her into the house.

“Mostly, yes they are,” Sara said with a great deal of humor in her voice. “In fact, now that you mention it, most bakers are as well, I’ve noticed. However, sometimes they are correct when they bully us, not so much with the bakers. Welcome to my home again, Miss Hunter. I don’t believe you’ve ever come through the front door on your own before. Must be a novel experience for you.”

Sara was waiting for them to return in the open area of the great stairs.

“To be honest, I’m not really on my own now.” Sam glared at him when Tucker set her down. “Well, it’s been very…hummm enlightening, but I got places to go and people to meet.” Sam turned to leave and walked into Tucker’s large chest. “Tucker, I have to go home. I don’t belong here.”

“You’re mine, Sam. You do belong here. You belong where I am and I, you. Come with me, we need to talk. Sire? I need to talk to all of you, if you please?” He took her hand and they both followed the master and Sara into the living room.

There was a nice fireplace that had a very low but warm fire. Everyone took their seats.

Only Tucker stood.

“Sam and I have mated and now my maker is demanding that I return to her and bring my mate with me,” he started in a rush. “She is a horrible being who lives off the misery of those she commands. I came here because I had heard about what you as master had done for Dominic Marshall. Most of us have waited for someone like you for nearly all of our lives and had hoped to have you petition for my release. I have...I had a great many things to bring to you; I have many talents as an older vampire. I have many abilities that older ones do not. But I cannot bring this to your realm. Had I only myself to ask, I would, but I have a mate now. I would ask that you please accept my offer from before, and care for Sam. I will return to Marta this evening. You are a great leader among our kind.” He started to leave, to take Sam with him to the lair and spend the night making love to her, but she had other things in mind. And she spoke before Aaron could.

~~~
“Who the hell do you think you are?” Sam had had enough of these people telling her what was best for her. “You think that because we had a good time in the sack you can just dump me with a bunch of strange bloodsuckers and saunter off into the sunset?
No offense, Mr. Master Person.” She directed this last bit to Aaron, who was doing everything in his power not to burst out laughing. Why, she couldn’t tell, but waited for his answer. Sam had Tucker backed up against the wall and was punctuating each word with a sharp poke to his chest. She was going to have her say, damn it.
“Oh I assure you, none taken.”
With a nod, she continued. “I may not take my lunch from someone’s neck, but I do have resources to take care of myself, and you as well if I have to, you stupid jerk. If you think for one second that I’m gonna just be the type of woman who says, ‘oh my, take care of me you big brute of a man,’ honey, you so don’t know me.” She turned to glare at Colin who was literally rolling on the floor, tears streaming down his cheeks he was laughing so hard. Shade, his mate, Sam had been told, was stuffing a couch pillow in her face and making weird gulping noises. Aaron and Sara were leaning on each other, trying very hard not to look like they were laughing, but only succeeded in making themselves look constipated.
“What’s wrong with you people?” she asked the room. She didn’t understand these beings. She was trying to be serious and make the stupid man understand she didn’t need him or anyone else for that matter, and they were laughing. This was obliviously vampire humor and beyond her understanding. As she turned to go, Tucker scooped her up in his arms, and with a raised brow to Aaron, he took her to the sublevels and the rooms he had been given.
“I think you need—”
His mouth was covering hers, taking her, tasting her. He began pulling at her clothes. First, the shirt came off, which didn’t fare any better than the one before. He was dipping his head down to her bare breasts and pulling one deeply into his mouth, tormenting her erect nipple with his tongue. When she had left the hospital, no one had brought her anything of her own to wear home. She was wearing something Tucker had brought her from Shade, he’d told her. Sam hoped that Shade hadn’t been too terribly attached to them as there were now in shreds.
She could feel her body responding to his sensual assault. Her pants were suddenly too tight, too heavy. She wanted to touch him, needed to feel his skin against her.
“Tucker, please, I need...I need something more.”
She tore at his shirt, ripping the material as if it were no more than tissue paper, need giving her strength she had no idea she had. When she had it off, she leaned forward and took his hard nipple into her mouth and bit him, bit him hard, drawing a small drop of blood to the surface. He reached behind her to her pants and buried his hands down into them, pulling her up to his cock, which was hard and hot against her soft folds. She wrapped her legs around him, and held on while riding him up and down his cock with the power of her legs.
He started toward the bed, but she needed him now. When he stopped and pulled her legs from his hips and slid her down his body, she started pulling at his belt. He moved her hands, dropped to his knees in front of her, and yanked her pants off quickly. He buried his mouth against her pussy and sucked her into his mouth, panties and all. She screamed out as the sensations of what he was doing to her pulsed through her body. When Tucker lifted her leg, positioned it over his shoulder, and tore the material from his goal, she grabbed a handful of his hair and held on. Her pussy gushed with her cream; a small trickle of it ran down her thigh. More of her juices gushed as his head lowered to her.
Tucker lapped at her, even as he inserted a finger into her heat. He once again tongued her clit, and suckled it. When she started moving against his fingers and his mouth, he inserted a second, then third into her. She was close to coming and he’d not even entered her yet.
“Baby, I want to feed from you. I want to feed from you pussy. Let me bite you, taste you.” He teased her clit, driving her closer to the edge.
“Yes, oh God, Tucker. Bite me, feed from me.” Her knees weakened at the thought of him biting her there. Biting her and drinking from her.
The pain was immense but over quickly. It was replaced by the most intense orgasm she had ever had. When he drew her clit and her blood into his mouth and swallowed, she came again, still rocking from the first one. Her knees buckled now and had he not lowered her to the floor, she would have fallen. He never stopped and before he licked the small wound to seal it, Sam had come four more times. But he wasn’t finished with her yet.
Tucker leaned back on his heels, her cum and juices glistening on his chin and lips, and stroked his engorged cock. The blood filled head was as big as a large plum. The tip was leaking cum, and the desire to taste him overwhelmed her. She sat up quickly and reached for him, taking him into her mouth before he could stop her, not that he could have. When he started gently fucking her hot wet mouth, she moaned.
He started to pull away, but she growled at him. He pushed harder into her, not being gentle now. Suddenly, he jerked her away by grabbing a handful of her hair and turned her around. While she was up on her hands and knees, he rammed his cock deep into her pussy. He pulled out nearly to the tip and rammed into her again. Again and again, he’d pull out just to the head and slam hard into her. Reaching around to her pussy, he pinched the small exposed piece of flesh, leaned down, bit her on the shoulder, and came, jerking and pulsing in her hard over and over until he dropped on top of her, her own climax still singing through her body.
Long minutes passed before she moved. Even longer before she could gather any strength to think about how much pain they would be if they slept on the floor. But Tucker picked her up and carried them both to the bed. He slid her in under the sheets and joined her. Sam never moved, even after he pulled her body to lay across his. She lay just the way he put her, exhausted and sated. They both slept throughout the rest of the night and all through the next day.
Their rest was complete, their bond as well. Sam wasn’t sure how she knew this, but she did. They were a couple and would very much need each other in ways they would never have thought possible. Marta had come for them.
~CHAPTER SEVENTEEN~
Sam was sitting in the kitchen when Sara walked in at two o’clock the next afternoon. Sara looked at Duncan with a raised brow as if to say, “what’s going on” and he shrugged his shoulders.
“She has been sitting there for a few hours now, missus, and not said a word in all that time.” Duncan’s voice was low. “I have tried to speak to her, but she does not seem to making any sense, so I stopped trying. I’m very worried for the young miss.” Sara knelt down in front of her and touched her chin. “Sam, what is it? What’s the matter? Did you and Tucker have a fight?”
Sam stared at her for a minute, then two, looking as if she didn’t or couldn’t see her.
Sara gently reached out and hit the wall Sam always had up. Sara looked around the room and saw that the shades were drawn tight against the house and she reached for Aaron.
“Something’s wrong with Sam. She seems to be in a trance or something. I can’t reach her. I’m worried, Aaron. What if that woman has her and is hurting her?”
“How long has she been like that?” Aaron was asleep, not really needing to wake to speak to her. He was her mate, her love, and they could talk always.
“Duncan said about two hours. He said that he tried talking to her, but she doesn’t make sense when she answers. Her eyes are open, but she seems to have stepped out.
What do you think I should do?”
“I’m coming, love, but call Mel or one of the others. Maybe they can feel something you can’t.”
When Aaron entered the kitchen, Eliz and Mel were arguing about something, no doubt Sam’s problem. Sara wanted to smack them all.
“I didn’t say that. I said I think she’s meditating. You’re the one who said she was in a trance.” Mel’s voice had a tone, tempered a little because of who she was talking to, but a tone nonetheless.
“What I said, you blockhead, was that she is searching for something or someone, not a trance. Keep up, you dolt. I swear, sometimes I wonder if you weren’t switched at birth. There isn’t any way Savannah gave birth to someone as stubborn as you are.” Elizabeth huffed at Mel. “I don’t even know where you got that. I’m not stubborn. A granddaughter should be more circumspect of their elders, not a bitch.”
“Circumspect of what? I haven’t zapped her, have I? I call that being very circumspective.” Sara started laughing at Mel, but caught herself. “And stop calling me names. You’re not very good at it anyway. You’re dating yourself with ‘blockhead.’ It’s so sixties, the nineteen-sixties, that is. How many does that make for you now, a hundred, maybe a thousand?”
“Good morning, ladies,” Aaron said as he walked in the room. “So, we’re fighting again, are we? Always a pleasure with you two. You make things seem so...oh I don’t know, tense isn’t quite the word I’d use, but I think you get it. Have we figured out anything other than we are all incredibly old?” He gave each woman a peck on their cheek. He dearly loved her family, but they could be hard on the nerves at times. Sara wanted to bash their heads in.
“I think she’s trying to sort something out.” Eliz stated happily, and turned and stuck her tongue out at her granddaughter. Sara burst out laughing. “The girl has a very tight rein on her mind, and even I couldn’t break in. Well, I probably could, but I didn’t want to hurt her trying. Poor thing. Someone should probably wake her mate up.” Mel just growled at her grandmother. She was getting really good at it, too, Sara realized. Mel had heard Aaron growl at her once and Mel had decided she liked the effect it had on people. When she had done it in her Court once, the entire guard took a step back from her. Sara still got a tickle out of the look on Mel’s new head guard’s face.
They had been terrified beyond belief. Sara didn’t have the same effect on Aaron since he was much better at it than her.
“I...she’s trying to remember something she forgot. She is...her momma is talking to her. I can hear them. She’s sad for her.” Everyone turned around to look at Mac. He was standing just inside the kitchen door, his backpack still strapped to his little back, jacket in hand.
“You can hear her talking with her mother, Mac?” Sara looked at Aaron and he picked his son up. “Do you know what they’re saying, son?”
“Her momma is gone, but she needed to tell Sam somethin’, somethin’ important, she said, so I brought her to Sam. She said she wouldn’t hurt her, that Sam needed her.
I...she said she was Sam’s momma and I know how much I need my momma, so I brought her to Sam. Was that all right?”
“He’s a necromancer. My…my mom said that he’s a necromancer because of the circumstances surrounding his birth. Mom...my mom said that he was...he nearly died before he was born and one of his gifts is the ability to raise or talk with the dead. She said he’ll be very powerful one day.” Sam had tears in her eyes.
Sara reached out and hugged Sam. If anyone needed it, she did. Then she realized what Sam had said. A necromancer, her son was a necromancer. Sara sat down hard in one of the kitchen chairs. She could only stare at Sam then her son. He was a warlock.
He would be able to...she didn’t know what he’d be able to do, but right now, he could talk with the dead.
“No, Mrs. MacManus, not a warlock, he’s a wizard vampire, a very rare breed of both. He will be a great man among his people, and greatly respected as both a vampire and as a wizard. He will live many centuries and do many great things. His own mate will be someone of great wealth, but I don’t know of what. They will bring you both many descendants.”
