“I’ll figure it out.”

I tell the room we’ll go last to give Vic the chance to observe.

The gist of the game is that you’re given a word that you want your partner to guess; however, under that word are a list of words that you cannot say, thus making it more challenging. You try and get through as many cards as you can before your time is up.

When it’s our turn we’re interrupted by Vic’s cell ringing. He shifts enough to get to it. He frowns at the screen. I take a peek. The name Vault is on the screen, but no picture to accompany it.

He presses accept, getting up and gently having me slide into his place, the phone pressed to his chest. “Excuse me,” he tells the room, stepping outside and closing the door behind him.

Everyone takes turns using the bathroom.

“Continue without me,” I suggest when he still hasn’t returned.

“I’ll take this round with you,” Ray offers.

I agree, not wanting to miss out on my favorite game with my friends.

One card in and Vic’s voice carries in from outside.

We all pause to hear.

“Back off...This is what I do…You want me to be sure?...Then let me do my job.”

The doorknob rattles and Ray and I jump back into playing, trying to make it appear like we weren’t eavesdropping.

Ray and I are pretty good at the game and are easily getting the largest stack of words guessed. Vic stands at the doorway, absorbing.

When we finish he comes over, his expression still showing nothing, but a strange vibe is coming off of him and I know he’s not pleased.

“I need to go. My apologies for the suddenness,” he informs us all. He extends his hand to me, “Walk with me.”

I take his hand. We stop outside my place.

“I need to get some work done,” he explains almost as though he’s apologizing.

“Everything okay?”

“Yes.” He kisses me, “No playing with Ray.”

I’m taken back as he begins to walk away, “Are you telling me what to do?”

He turns back around, not answering.

“You can’t tell me what to do,” I make clear. He may have my emotions all over the place, but I still have my independence. “Don’t force me to go back in there and prove a point.” I’ll do it too. I’ll even sit next to Ray to exert my power of my own body and mind.

He closes in on me, “Don’t threaten me.”

“Don’t control me.”

“You’re mine.”

“Yes,” I agree, “but only in the sense that no one else can have me. That doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to play a game with a friend.”

“It means more to him.”

“It’s always meant more. It doesn’t mean anything to me though.”

“I don’t share.”

I let out an exasperated sigh, “You’re not.”

He kisses me, hard and deep. I clutch his shirt in both fists, our tongues buried in each other’s mouths. I want to wrap my legs around him so he can back us up against a wall to fuck me right there on the street, facing a road that continually has traffic.

Vic breaks the kiss, “Good night, Freya.” He leaves me aroused and thinking of his naked body and all I want to do with it.

Well played Vic, well played.

I go back inside and offer to ref for the next round.

~~~~~
“How did you get in here?” I incoherently grumble in a sleepy, thick voice into my darkened bedroom. My eyes are unable to open from the late hour or way too early morning; I’m too sleepy to properly know.
Vic doesn’t answer, too busy kissing down my neck.
He swiftly pulls off my long night shirt, cupping both breasts in his hands and taking a nipple into his mouth. His lips wrap only around the tiny peak, barely biting the bottom to steady his tongue so it can make delicious circles around the tip.
I moan, positioning a leg between his so both our middles have something to rub against.
After a long, slow seduction to my breasts as though he was visiting a museum and needed to inspect and analyze, he moves his mouth upward to my ear, “Freya…”
My name sounds so freaking sexy from him, I want to hear it over and over again.
“Mm,” is all I can respond with.
“I won’t come before you do, but I need your mouth around my dick.”
I nod, wanting it too.
“Don’t make me come,” Vic warns, positing himself above me, and it’s then that I realize he’s completely naked. He lifts the back of my head with his hand and glides my mouth around him. He uses my head and mouth like I have no control of it, but I’m still half-asleep so I’m grateful to not have to put any effort in. Every time I come close to gagging from how deep he makes me take it, he eases back. Most guys in the past loved the sound of me choking on them. I guess that’s a sign I’m with a real man, one who listens to my cues and knows when it’s too much or if I’m not enjoying it.
“Enough,” Vic growls. He must be talking to himself since he has all the control. He gently lets my head fall back onto the pillow, sliding his hand out from underneath.
He rolls to his back, “Ride my face.”
Still half-asleep, he helps me over, positioning my center right over his mouth. I rest my hands on the frame of my antique metal bed, lowering so my clit touches the tip of his tongue. He takes hold of the edges of my ass, helping it move for my pleasure. My head feels heavy from ecstasy and sleepiness and it falls forward, resting on my arm, giving me a blurry view of his mouth suckling on my most sensitive of areas. It has a waking effect and I grind against his mouth, close to coming just watching him.
“Vicsuyan,” I groan, deep within my throat.
His mouth moves enough to be heard, “Say it again.”
His name comes out breathless, “Vicsuyan.”
“Again,” he demands, and I can feel his hand going to his cock, stroking it.
“Vicsuyan!” I cry out as he takes his tongue speed to a level I’ve never experienced.
I cry his name one last time, coming around his tongue in glorious convulsions. I pause for a minute and he makes no sudden movements, allowing me the chance to compose myself.
“Are you ready to come inside my mouth?” I ask, still breathless, dropping limply on top of him like I have no plans on moving even though I most definitely do. I have a favor to repay.
“Freya,” he sighs almost in surrender, kissing along my temple and cheek.
“Freya, Freya, Freya,” he continues as I begin loving with my lips, scouring his body like a treasure hunt, exploring every bend, every muscle. “Tell me you feel this.”
“I can’t stop,” I confirm as though it’s an apology, but it’s more to myself.
I take his thick length into my mouth and the groan that comes out of him has me giving a blow job of epic proportions, wanting to extract as much as I can from him.
“Don’t stop,” he commands with meaning right before spurting into my mouth, stroking the side of my face as he does.
I wipe my mouth with the back of my hand and crawl back up to snuggle in his arms, half my body wrapped over his, face in the crevice of his neck. Our hearts beat frantically.
“I think I’m falling in love with you, and it scares me,” I whisper into his skin, drifting back to sleep.
“I know,” he murmurs, combing my hair with his fingers.
“Me too,” he mouths into my hair a few minutes later, and I can’t tell if I dreamed it or not.
Chapter 9
I can’t believe I told Vic that I’m falling in love with him. I’m mortified. So much so that for once it’s
me
being aloof during breakfast, unable to make eye contact.
On his way out he grabs my elbow as I leave a table. He searches my face and I can’t look above his shoulder. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” I reassure him. It’s not technically a lie. My embarrassment has nothing to do with anything he’s done.
“Freya,” he murmurs, bringing my chin up with a hooked finger.
“I’m fine,” I promise to his nose.
He sighs, lightly brushing his lips to mine, “We’ll talk later.”
Great. Can’t wait.
“What was that about?” Maya asks when he leaves.
I get a fresh pot of coffee going, “What do you mean?”
“He seemed worried and you wouldn’t look at him.”
I shrug.
“Freya, spill.”
“I told him I was falling in love him last night.”
“Oh…”
“Yeah.” I cringe, “I’m sure he’s going to want to end things tonight.”
“He didn’t look like he wanted to end things. In fact, it was him watching you during breakfast.”
I hope my sister’s right. It’s too soon to be saying things like that. Nonetheless, it’s real, it’s happening.
“When did you know with Flynn?”
“I love Flynn,” Maya states, wanting to make it clear before explaining. “With a passion that scares me at times, but it was a slow build. It didn’t happen overnight. But that doesn’t mean the way I love him is any less powerful than your feelings for Vic or that one will make it and the other won’t.
“Flynn is what I need, what I want. I need his gentle spirit to control the fire inside mine. You need someone to help ignite yours. I’m sure you’re giving Vic something he needs. Whether it lasts or not, it doesn’t matter; he’s here for a reason. Embrace it.”
“I want him here for me. I want the reason he came into my life to be because he’s meant to be mine.”
Maya gives me an apologetic smile, “Only time will tell.”
And that’s why I hate fate. I don’t want life to be predetermined, because that means I have no say in the outcome.
I decide to help my mom out in the shop today, too distracted at the café. Plus, my mom isn’t bothered by someone being internal with their thoughts; she quietly waits until you’re ready to talk about it.
I’m outside early and Vic seems taken back to find me there when he arrives.
“Let’s go to your place,” he suggests.
I agree, realizing we have yet to go to his.
He surprises me by taking my hand in his, giving it a squeeze. I squeeze back and he brings it up, placing a kiss on top of mine.
I can’t help but smile over at him. I see him look at me from the corner of his eye, and he slightly smiles back.
Once inside my place he drags me to the couch, resting back on the armrest and laying his legs down the length of it. He has me between his legs so my back is resting against his chest.
We lay for a while relaxing, his finger trailing along my collarbone, his mouth just above my ear. His rhythmic breaths help ease me.
“I have to leave on a business trip,” he divulges, sounding hesitant.
My voice remains detached, even though I’m feeling anything but that, “Yeah? When?”
“Tomorrow.”
I chew on the inside of my lip, “Oh.”
He kisses the strands of my hair, “I don’t want to go. Not when you’re acting like this.”
“I’m just embarrassed about last night,” I confess, not one to bottle my emotions.
“I know. That’s why I don’t want to leave. I don’t want you thinking I’m going because of that.”
I let out a faint chuckle, “Aren’t you?”
“No.”
I almost believe him.
His arms wrap tightly around me, making me feel safe and warm, “It’s okay to feel that way.”
I shift to look up at him, “Don’t you think it’s all happening too fast?”
He looks down at me, rubbing his nose to mine, “No.”
“I do.”
“Why?”
I shrug, not having a good answer.
“The heart wants what it wants.”
“How philosophical of you,” I tease, needing to lighten the mood.
Our foreheads connect as he talks, “I’m very wise.”
“When will you be back?”
“About two weeks.”
My heart sinks, heavy with sadness.
“I won’t be able to call.”
I nod as though I understand, “Can you tell me what you’re doing?”
“An overdue visit.”
“What for?”
Vic kisses my forehead, “It doesn’t matter.” His accent comes out more heavily as his voice deepens, “I’m taking you upstairs.”
He moves with me in his arms, going effortlessly up the stairs. Instead of us fucking, he takes his time, slow and sweet, finding out what areas of my body make me aroused, and I do the same to him. As Vic enters me, he does it gradually, eyes locked with mine the entire time. We make love and it’s without a doubt the most beautiful, memorable experience of my life.
Vic leaves me early in the morning with a gentle kiss. I snuggle into the warmth of his empty spot, inhaling the pillow he used. The next two weeks are going to be torture.
