The bridesmaids, Victoria, Katie, Lucy, and Allison, lined up at the front of the room as Juliet and Connor entered together. Everyone rose at their entrance. Juliet’s dress was simple yet amazing. When they reached our table, Collin stepped forward to hug his father and kiss Juliet on the cheek. Max followed suit. When the bride and groom stood before the minister, we took our seats. Katie’s eyes landed on Collin, and she bolted for him.

“Dahey,” she gurgled, gaining quiet laughs. Collin was quick to grab her up and bring her to the table with us. She clung to him and laid her head on his shoulder. I rubbed her back and kissed her head.

As I sat back listening to Juliet and Connor vow to love each other for the rest of eternity, my eyes flitted to Victoria who stood with a large smile next to Lucy and Allison. Then I looked to Katie cuddled in Collin’s lap. My hands caressed the bulge of my abdomen. A smile spread on my lips. Maybe tonight was a good night to tell Collin my little secret. He was getting a son.

V.S. Tice currently resides in Central Pennsylvania with her husband and two children. She is a self-proclaimed foul- mouthed, book nerd who loves reading genres ranging from Young Adult to Romance to Horror to Erotica, and works fulltime saving spreadsheets and marketing materials one click of her mouse at a time.

To escape the structured, methodical confines of her day job, she delves into her overzealous imagination producing dystopian worlds and romances.

Although V.S. Tice has recently transitioned from writer to published author, she has been participating in online writing communities for several years. Having started her ‘public’ writing career through fanfiction, it took a while before she was pushed, shoved, and cattle-prodded into writing her very own works of fiction. She told everyone she was never going to be good enough to stand alone and that they would see how wrong they were. Needless to say, she’s been eating her words and her husband is the leader, shoveling them in quicker than she can swallow.
